I love Laytons. It feels like a 'modern' fish & chips - and I mean that in a complimentary way. Always lots of locals in here, and the food is always good. A definite must for people passing through

Requested a bulk order of 82 portions, to be delivered locally. Delighted to say that everyone thought the quality was first rate, the food was still hot, and it was delivered right on time. Well done, Laytons.

Tiny piece of Cod which was tasteless, the batter however tasted off, chips were definitely re-fried and were chewy. 40p short of a tenner & most of went in the bin

As there were 14 of us, we preordered, which worked nicely. The cod was tasty with just the right amount of batter and the tartare sauce was homemade. Others had scampi, sausage and chicken nuggets and were left very satisfied. The portions of chips were huge - one between two would suffice - but had more 'bottom of the pan' chips than I'd expect. The battered halloumi didn't really work either, but maybe that's because I love halloumi on its own.

As previous, Hobson's choice for chippys in the town. And once again, disappointed. What is supposed to be a 'large' is really only a 'normal' in size. We split between the three of us and literally, have about 10 chips each. The chips are pale. Seemed to be cooked this time but certainly not double-cooked. Not brown at all. I guess they're happy as people are still buying so who cares what customers think, eh?

We normally go to Posh Plaice in Evesham, so when we pre ordered this order, we worked out the portions for all of us based on what we get there. Normally my daughter and I share a fish and my mum only ever has half, so I thought - you cant order 1 1/2 cod, so we ordered 2 between the three of us, my god when it arrived it was so thin and the batter stuck to the paper, 3 portions were meagre, when we should have literally had 1/2 a portion over, there really wasn't sufficient to call it a meal.. The chips were hard and as others have said, these are not large portions, normally 2 large portions at Posh Plaice would easily do 7 people with chips to spare.. not this one.. I'm glad I insisted on an extra portion as we'd have been struggling. The prices were high as well, definitely not worth the money. What a shame!

Wonderful fish and chips - especially lovey light batter. Ordered online and very prompt - great service. Love the recyclable packaging as well. Can't recommend enough!

Just tried battered GF faggots for the first time, soooo good! Instead of one large faggot, 6 bite sized instead, very tasty with lovely crispy batter Well done Tommy and the team!

My husband and I both ordered Haddock and Chips and was very disappointed- the fish seemed so dry like it was overcooked or seemed like it was re-heated .. sorry 😐 shame. The curry sauce was good. 👍🏽

Delicious fish and chips - possibly the best I’ve tasted. Hot, fresh and tasty, with home made tartare sauce. Reasonable prices! Excellent!

I had chips, curry sauce and battered sausage. It wias all very good although the curry sauce was a little pricey. Good service too.

The staff are organised, it looks clean, they are quick to serve and the food is hot. I think the pricing is spot on, I don’t hunk you pay over the odds. If we fancy fish and chips, this place is our go to.

We found the fresh Cod fish & Chip's to be great, the portions were good & lovely & Hot. The prices compared to we live where amazing.Thank you.

There is little choice of fish here, basically cod, scampi or fish cakes, supplemented by burgers and sausages, but the cod we had was excellent, among the best ever.

Went on Friday evening and had cod and chips takeaway for two. My wife wanted her fish grilled which they did without a problem. Cooked fresh and well worth the 5 minute wait

Winchcombe chippy back on track. Tom & team keep up the good work! So enjoyed scampi & a pie with NON greasy chips... crispy on the outside & fluffy inside....best meal from a chippy for a long time.

We are so dissatisfied with this chip shop. I ordered a chip butty in a bun and received a very small portion of soggy chips with 2 slices of white bread that didn’t even have butter on it. There was no variety of food, no chicken, no kebabs. We need a real chip shop in winchcombe!

Nice menu - always freshly cooked. The small fish and chips I had were the best I've tasted for a long time.

The fish and chips were delightful - cooked to order, with massive quantities of chips. My pie was crisp and hot, and the onion rings were golden and juicy. Keep up the high standards!

Fish batter was lovely and crunchy and the chips weren't soggy. Not really a fish and chi fan but I really enjoyed these!

Just tried their "gluten free" Fish and chips for the first time. At last ! The new owners have "got it spot on!" Generous portions, very, very tasty, and apparently they even offer gluten free sausages and burgers. I'm very impressed, well done guys!

We visited Laytons last night for first time, food was delicious. Cod beautiful. Battered sausage so yummy, chips were divine. Definitely be back soon to taste more of the menu,especially as the burger looked so good. Service very friendly and efficient. The packaging is all compostable too. Highly recommend!!!!

The chips dry and tasteless , menu had no variety no kebabs no southern fried chicken the usual things you expect to find in a chip shop , chicken burgers £4.50 each very overpriced.

This place has listened to its customers, made changes accordingly, and has now got it spot on! The food was fresh, hot, well cooked and full of flavour. Fantastic chippy, great service and clearly doing something right as it was packed full of hungry customers!

My fish & chips were perfect. My wife wanted scampi but due to no demand they’ve been taken off the menu, HOWEVER, the chef offered her the calamari instead - WOW!!!😋 Presentation brilliant, great staff. Can’t wait for the pizzas 🍕

decided on a chippy tea with my wife and kids, got it back home (4 miles away) and it was stone cold, tasteless, over cooked and just damn right disgusting. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to get chips right.

This is a new chippy fo rthe town, and its lovely. Good staff, good food, and although there were a few teething problems at the beginning with long waits, etc, the food was worth it. I hope they get around to providing gluten free soo :).

Portion size seems to depend upon who you serves you. Previously, my 'large' ordered portion had been extremely generous. On this occasion it was noticeably and disappointingly smaller.

We had our first fish and chips from laytons tonight and really looking forward to them.What a disappointment maybe we chose an off night but the chips had quite an unpleasant taste as if they had been burnt and the fish was quite chewy really hope we just picked a bad night but we won't be rushing back.

Chewy tough chips. Fish far from fresh and overcooked. Large fish smaller than a sausage. Pie had plenty of filling but lacked flavour. Chips and fish had an unpleasant odd taste of oil made us feel quite nauseous. Very clean Premises and pleasant staff, just disappointing food. Will not be returning

This new take away is attractive in the tourist town of Winchcombe. We ordered Haddock, freshly cooked for us and it was beautiful. The mushy peas were perfect. The staff were really friendly . The main let down was the oil in which fish and chips were fried. It had either oxidised or was very strange and left an odd aftertaste . I would definitely try this Fish and chip shop again if I new they had addressed the cooking oil.

Best fish + chips we've had in ages. Portions are perfect, not too oversized. Ingredients locally sourced where possible. My son loves the chicken nuggets- he's choosy too! Even though the queue was pretty long the staff were cool, calm and collected, most impressed.

Tried a simple takeaway as this is new/refurbished but won't try again. Food availability poor, they had only heated up 4 pies for the evening and they had been sold and could not be bothered to heat up anymore. The cod portion was very small and when eaten a few minutes later at home was dry and rubbery. Not good.

Drove up here on a recommendation from a friend and was not in the least disappointed! Bit of a queue but that can't be helped and it was obvious that the staff there were working their socks off, the lady who served us was very cheerful. Portion sizes were very generous, we had chips, battered sausage and fish and really enjoyed it! Well worth the 6 mile drive!

We were on vacation iand tired of over priced pub/resturant food. We saw a line of locals waiting on fish and chips. My wife got fish and chips, I got chicken nuggets and chips (fries). The portions were huge (we had walked 9 miles to get to town) and it was the best chicken nuggets I have eaten. My wife gives the fish 2 thumbs up also. I wanted it again for lunch the next day, but at this time they were only open for dinner. Their said they would be opening for lunch soon.
