Walked here for a coffee and cake. The paradise slice and Mars Bar crunch were delicious and Harley, our Vizsla, was also treated to dog biscuits.

We have used this tearoom on several occasions. The staff are always friendly and work hard to keep up demand on busy days. We have eaten here before when the food was great but on this occasion we just called in for a coffee which was also good. The shop is also great with lots of local goodies and gifts plus a selection of the basic if you were self catering in the area. There is a nice seating area outside if you have a dog as we do, plus seating inside at the rear of the shop. Highly recommend.

This is a great wee tearoom with a very friendly staff. The menu is pretty simple but the food was tasty and we presented. We would certainly go back if we are in the area.

What a wonderful little place this is...!!! Cosy tea room, village shop and Post Office all rolled into one. The secluded garden is immaculate and there is a huge selection of lovely fresh bakery items available to take home as well, all very reasonably priced.. The toilets are immaculately sparkling clean and fresh too.

One of the gems of Northumberland. In a lovely village with a medieval castle, this tea shop has been a family go to for many years. Excellent food, lovely people - what more can you ask for.

Never been to the Etal and Ford estate before in Northumbria, it's off the beaten track a bit, but well worth a visit... you can even get the Hatherslaw staem railway to Etal, and a short walk from the station brings you to the Post Office cum general store cum Lavender Tea rooms. Great to sit outside in warm weather, or inside if it's cooler. This is a great littel tea rooms with excellent freshly brewed tea, coffe etc, and with a great selection of cakes.. I went for the Border tart.. the best selling cake, so i was told.. and I can see why! lovely friendly service by the staff, and one to call into again, when next in the area.

No idea why this place is getting good reviews. I love leaving 5 star reviews for places but this fish and chip shop was in my 5 worst I've ever had. Maybe they just had a bad day? The wait to be served was very long. We awkwardly sat staring up at the counter for ages. The batter was quite bizarre for a fish and chip shop. It was incredibly crumbly and just fell apart so you couldn't really keep it attached to and eat it with the fish. It tasted very strange and was wet and kind of eggy in middle. Most batters I've had are white in the middle, not yellow. The cod was embarrassingly thin (see picture). Absolutely tiny and basically hidden amongst the batter. It was also tough and flavourless. The cold chips tasted like plastic. The watered down vinegar didn't have a taste to it. The 'Cod' and chips were £17. Highly over priced for a disappointing meal. The interior is really nice, the waitress was nice enough but gets you to do all the passing of the plates when handing out and collecting them. We definitely would not recommend this place at all and I'd love to know under what circumstances it won awards!!
