Lavas in Broxbourne

Visited many times when visiting family. Great food and friendly service. Had the Adana kebab was so full of flavour. Then had room for a baklava dessert. Great service

What a fabulous find - beautifully cooked kebab and wonderful combination of sauces. Definitely be back again. Both of us are fully stuffed

The customer service was excellent & the restaurant ambiance was very homely. Mahdi served us well with delicious food tasted very homemade & the complementary dips were a lovely touch to our evening.

Ordered a delivery which turned up 1 hour later. Disappointed as food was cold and instructions for one meal was not followed. Shame as food is usually really good.

I ordered for the first time in a long time last night. I ordered the Lavas special and chicken wings. The food took a little longer than they said it would be to be delivered and I had to ring to chase but they apologised and explained this was due to a shortage of drivers. I think they should have said that when I ordered. That said the food when it arrived was hot and absolutely delicious! I couldn’t fault it and I was so glad that I wasn’t put off by the most recent reviews. Would I order again? Absolutely!

There service has gone right downhill lately, they never seem to be able to get the order right, food looks burnt to crisp,

We have used Lavas for years and years but never again after this evening. An on line order was totally screwed up and not for the first time. No salad, no rice and the main course (lamb saute) had, quite literally none of the vegetables in it that are listed on the menu. The quality of the take away food has deteriorated in recent years…..it is no longer worth ordering food from this restaurant…… It pains me to say that a once, very good, establishment has become an “also ran”…..my advice would be to look elsewhere for a decent Turkish meal.

Oily and cold old food, I have emailed them twice and no reply, seems like they have really bad management as the food is old reheated and boxed delivered cold, the lamb donner was old and crusty. I never had a problem with them last few times I have ordered, Maybe they have just given up on the service they used to deliver. The food was horribly smelly and not the same as before. We did not enjoy this at all, will not be ordering again from Lavas turkish in Cheshunt.

We have been ordering from Lavas for several years but over the last few months the service has really declined. My delivery orders started to be either really late or with items wrong or missing so we got to the point of ordering on line and then going to collect. My last two orders have still been wrong - yesterday we ordered two kebabs with salad and sauce but both were missing salad and sauce. I understand that you have to order the salad and sauce on the website and we clearly have but it doesn’t help if the restaurant pay no attention to your requirements. I won’t be using this restaurant again and sadly cannot recommend them which is a shame. Lavas please pay attention, listen to your customers and do something positive to improve rather than ignoring the obvious problems.

Been using them for years mainly for a takeaway, never had a problem with taste of kebabs etc., It will help if you called and collect and tell them what salads etc., you want on your orders , there is usually a large selection of salads and various sauces

Ordered a takeaway, 2 wraps and chips. Chips were hard and cold. Wraps were cold and soggy with no taste.

I drove to Lavas tonight to order and collect a meal for me and my partner. We had a lamb doner and a chicken doner. Quite simple and everyday stuff for any kebab shop…..However the lamb doner was overcooked to near burnt and chicken doner was tasteless, thank god we had a jar bought sauce to make this food edible……..The chilli sauce was inadequate to be called chilli sauce and garlic sauce was regular out of a jar…..Thankfully I have a jar of sauce in the fridge off the shelf which was way superior to lavas’s offering. However the can of Pepsi was good. I will never return here for this abysmal offering of what they call food. I can clearly see why their restaurant attached to the shop has closed down. Don’t waste your money, there is local places way better than this place.

Just had food from Lavas in cheshunt I ordered online, the estimated delivery was 37 minutes but after several phone calls the food arrived over 2 hours late....Never again..

The order was incorrect when ordered online. When I phoned tell them was just told they would come and collect it back. Did not appear too bothered.

Ordered online for delivery ... arrived , burnt chicken shish , no salad at all and chips not cooked that were hard in the middle . I called Lavas and was told that the salad has to be ordered seperateky when ordering online ... well if you look at the menu it Clearly states that it comes with salad !! I was then told that another portion of chips would be delivered and that’s how the chicken comes when barbequed . No sorry about your order and No chips ever arrived . They obviously don’t care about their customers so I Won’t be ordering again Steer clear and order from someone who Cares about their customers .

Family run, felt at home in this cosy welcoming local restaurant. Great service from a lovely lady, nothing was too much trouble. The food was home made, delicious and made to order. Lots of different dishes you don't normally see on the menu. The Chicken Surprise is a favourite along with the dips and hot starters. Highly recommended......

Nice place this. I only use the take away but of all the kebab houses in cheshunt these guys always serve good food and with healthy portions - I’m sure the sit it would be nice also. Friendly people too

Just had a fantastic authentic Turkish meal at Lavas (restaurant). Found it by chance and the service was impeccable and the food served top notch and tasty grub, will be back very soon!The decor makes you feel so relaxed and you feel like your abroad, which adds to the authentic tasting food.I even had a 10oz Rib eye steak cooked to perfection and the knife cut through it like butter. 10/10Thank you very much for our meal :)Just a personal mention to the waitress, Altho serving other tables she made us feel very special adding to the unique experience. Just had a take away delivered tonight. It was AWFUL ! EVEN my greedy 2 dogs turned their noses up at it!!Why ? It arrived barely warm, the chicken donner was practically raw, was totally void of any taste, swimming in oil/grease, and the "garlic sauce" tasted,... well it didn't taste of anything at all.... certainly NOT Garlic !!! Clues in the title Lavas, ..... GARLIC sauce ???I am SO dissapointed in this take away .... £16 in the bin !NEVER AGAIN WOULD I ORDER FROM THIS PLACE !!! It "may" have been a ' one off' bad meal/experience, but you go by what experience you get, and mine was without any doubt what so ever, THE VERY WORST KEBAB IVE EVER HAD, LET ALONE IN CHESHUNT !!Folks, there are so many more better places to get your Saturday night T/A from...AVOID, AVOID, AVOID !!!!!!

It's brilliant. Staff are lovely. Love the chicken surprise. And tonight I just tried a new chef's casserole - which I totally recommend ! Slight curry flavour - delicious. Lavas is back to it's best.

The food from both the restaurant and sister takeaway is always amazing. I frequently go here with my boyfriend and both of us leave feeling full and satisfied. Lovely service.

My family recommended this restaurant and we were treated like family.We chose the shared mixed platter and the table soon groaned under delicious grilled meats, salads and mouth-watering bread and dips.The restaurant has an extensive bar and a cosy atmosphere. The staff could not have been more attentive and I hope to return soon with friends.

I've been visiting Lavas on a fairly regular basis for a couple of years now. I have always been impressed by the quality of their dishes - the lamb is always nice a tender which is a good sign for me - and the warmth and attentiveness of the staff. For the quality of the food it's good value too. Thoroughly recommended!

Nice friendly staff with great service a lovely lady looked after us in the restaurant they do a nice house red wine. Or you can have it as a takeaway as it’s just as good as it’s all about great flavour at lavas .

Found this restaurant by accident, since the closure of the big lavas, i really missed having a good turkish meal locally, happened to work past this one day and noticed it had been refurbished and was now open as a barbecue restaurant. The decor is lovely and inviting, candles on tables and lovely music playing in the background, the staff are so friendly and always welcome me with a friendly embrace. The food is AMAZING.... i had the mixed shish with yogurt, with the tomato and butter sauce, id go as far as saying it was the best I’ve had, u also get free complimentary bread and dips too which is always nice, both times i have visited recently the place has been empty on a friday evening, and i can not for the life of me think why it is not busier? I can only think that like me, people do not realise it is not just a takeaway ( next door) and that it is a restaurant, exception food, and lovely staff.....

Came here last night and had a lovely time. Polite staff nice beer and a wonderful meal . Will definitely visit here again. The lamb and chicken wraps are absolutely gorgeous.

I wanted to write a great review for this restaurant. Since the closure of their big restaurant next door but one, we hadn’t really been back as didn’t realise they had reopened in the new location. Anyway we wandered past one night and it was very quiet but it looked very inviting with nice decor and the staff had a friendly smile, so we decided to give it a try. We were given some complimentary bread - so light and delicious served with dips and fresh salad. The mains we chose didn’t disappoint. The meat is always tender and tasty and done to perfection. Since the first visit we have introduced our friends. I have held my work leaving do there and each person spoke highly of the place.

Ordered at 8pm phoned up at 9.30, said it is on its way. 10.10pm, no sight of it. Cancelled. I can not review the food as I never received it.

Completely taking advantage of all the drunk people in the place. As a sober person, observing the people around who were clearly quite merry and being charged for “large only” and “non optional extras” taken advantage of.

I am a regular here and can never fault the service and or food. The lunch special in the restaurant is amazing and very cheap for what you get started main and drink. Customer service very good and always helpful

Ordered a regular shish wrap and when paying they charged me for a large and said I never stated which size. When I got home the wrapper was stuck in the food because of all the grease. Basically eating greasy paper for dinner. £9 for a kebab. Mental

Not sure what to think, really. We've bought food from Lavas before and there were no issues. I went there a few days ago to pick up a couple of kebabs (nothing fancy) and stood like a lemon in the middle of the shop (no other customers) while being studiously ignored by everyone in there - at least 5 or 6 staff in there.

We needed somewhere to eat at short notice to celebrate Mother's day and were driving parallel to the A10. We saw Lavas - it looked pleasant from outside and also busy. We called them and were told that we could have a table in the next half an hour so we sat and waited; when we entered our table was ready. The hor's d'oevres of olives and fresh bread were very pleasant, as was the Tarama we ordered as a starter. Lamb shish, falafel wrap and calamari were all to a good standard and we sat looking eagerly at the Black Forest Gateau. We had room, took the plunge and were not disappointed. Our waitress was a little tired by the time we left but it had clearly been a very busy day and she remained professional. I understand the restaurant has only been open for a couple of weeks but it has got off to a good start. We do not live in the area but would recommend Lavas to those who do or are passing through.

Restaurant was busy but they said they could got us in. A table of 6. After our drinks arrived (1 was wrong) it went downhill rapidly. Ordered starters and mains. After about half hour we were given our free starter m...bread garlic mayo etc 50 minutes after ordering 3 mains were delivered. I said we haven’t had starters yet which they offered to get them so said no just take it off the bill. Well that was it on the mains. So my eldest son, partner & Dad had their dinners but 2 of the mixed kebabs were nearly cold. 5 mins later my mums dinner arrived. Then nothing. As they were beating finishing their meals I asked where my other sons dinner and my own were. After a while my sons burger arrived so I said forget mine as everyone had finished (apart from my son with the Burger) but then mine arrived. Has to have been the driest chicken kebab I’ve ever tasted. Would’ve done a better job at home myself. My partner asked for some more meat as theirs was cold and portions quite small considering the price. Which they did. They agreed to discount the bill so they took off one of the mixed kebabs at £12.95 but tried charging £1.95 for a bottle of water that we’d sent back (we ordered a jug of tap water) so had to get that taken off.

My wife and I had dinner here the other night. Lavas have spent money on doing the place up, but it still looks like a café rather than what I would class a restaurant. The food was very good, and the portions OK, not large as some other restaurants. It was pretty empty when we went there and the food took around 20 mins to arrive, this was OK.

So when I ordered my kebab, I spoke to this lovely girl called francesca, her order was spot on and she was also polite. The minimum waiting time is 45 minutes but it came about 30/35 minutes after my order. The food is well presented and tasty. Would recommend. Really good. Also there new restaurant is well presented and the new menu is sooo good.

Terrible service from this place asked for no salad and the kebab turns up wothmpre salad than Tesco has and its cold will never be using them again very very shocking

Had a lot of problems with lavas in the past Months every time I called in was no one to sort it out. There is one boy called emre or eme that works there every time I spoke to him he sorted it out reallly quickly best advice ask for him to take your orders and if anything happens ask for him very funny lad and very helpful

Gutted when the restaurant closed down, but the take away section serves up just as good food! I have never been unhappy with a meal from here. Great tasting food with good service,

El restaurante lavas era un lugar tan concurrido vibrante con un gran servicio y comida maravillosa. El plato de carne es fantástico y el resto del menú es muy bueno.

La comida tarda 15 minutos más de lo que nos dijeron, que no es un gran problema, pero cuando se abre la caja y no hay 1 sino 2 pelos en la comida estás decepcionado. Anillo de vuelta y dicen uno nuevo será de 10 minutos, 30 minutos más tarde todavía no llegamos, me ring para decir que quiero mi dinero de vuelta, ya que es más que una broma ahora. Conductor no aparece hasta por otros 15 minutos.

Ordered takeaway last night arrived at door within half hour kebads lovely and hot salad fresh good value

Ordered £50 worth of takeaway food on a Saturday night, was delivered without one of the kebabs, 1 portion of chips and a sauce that we had ordered and paid for. We called to let them know and was told they would get the missing food to us within 15 minutes, 30 minutes later we were calling again to find out where it was. 5 minutes later the delivery driver arrives with the missing kebab, no chips and no sauce so again we are on the phone to Lavas, this time being told that the chips were sent but apparently didn't make it to our door. By this time we are 2 hours 15 minutes down the line and still without some of our order, they then admit that the chips were not sent and told us that they could send them, which by this point was far too late and we asked for a refund to be told they don't do refunds and all they could do was give a discount on the next order (like we would be ordering again). After demanding a refund 4 times they finally agreed to refund the cost of the chips and sauce, but were not concerned about the total balls up they had made. Again we were told that the delivery driver would drop the money back to us within 20 minutes, that time past and it seems like the delivery driver must have forgotten where we live as he never showed. DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE SCAMMERS

A pedir comida para llevar en lava de debo decir que fue el llevar más decepcionante que he tenido. Nuestra orden tardó una hora y media, el servicio al cliente es atroz y toda la comida estaba fría. El pollo estaba bajo preparado. No hay bebida gratis sin salsa chili y sin ensalada. Probé llamar otra vez y simplemente coger el teléfono y dejar sosteniendo. Mejor evitar creo. Muy caro.

Última noche tardó dos horas antes de la comida fue entregada. Había una falta de kebabs que finalmente apareció dos horas después de colocar la orden. También más o menos acusado de mentir. Las patatas fritas eran de piedra seca y fría como el cartón. La última orden que tuvimos fue entregado a alguien y tardaron 3 - 4 llamadas a andesítica de solucionar y de nuevo fue demasiado largo viniendo. El personal parece que no organizar correctamente. Este restaurante tiene que ser uno de los mejores en los que he estado. La comida es absolutamente deliciosa, un excelente servicio al cliente y el personal son divertidos. Sin duda recomiendo a todo el mundo a probar la comida. No te decepcionará. No leer las malas críticas.

We tried lavas the first time and love the people and the food as we waited we spoke to the workers and they are just lovely people time went quick with a bunch of lively people. Best dinner lol. Highly recommend

We ordered online at 19.30 after waiting 1 hour we rang up to check out order, the lady on the phone said the driver is on his way and has left the building and will be about 8 minutes max. After waiting a further 15 minutes we rang AGAIN and the women said the exact same thing she didn't really care how long we were waiting and didn't seem to care at all, with minimal apologies this was very irritating and we asked for a refund she said we can have a refund but can't credit the card we paid on, which is crazy. How can you take money from someone and not give it back? She said we can pick it up tomorrow or the driver can drop it off at some point tonight. After another hour we rang back and said the money still isn't with us yet. I think this proved that the driver wasn't even on his way as this didn't arrive until 21.30 after placing yet another phone call. I'm really upset and frustrated with the 0 customer service I received tonight it is really disappointing and I will never eat/order from here again.

Ridiculous. Ordered dinner, the chips didn't turn up so called in and they offered to deliver them in 45 minutes ! I challenged it and they suggested 15 minutes. Too late and as an aside, I only live max five minute walk. By the way Lavas, keep the £2.20 for the chips and donate it to charity!!

Always take forever get the wrong stuff and the people on the phone don't care nice food awful service wouldn't bother anymore

As above, a little overpriced for a rather mundane menu. After taking our order, the waitress proceeded to run out of the front door to give it to their take-away for cooking next door! When my son decided he would like to add some chips to his meal, the waitress looked at him in a real panic before legging it back out of the front door - it was the funniest thing we'd ever seen and worth being overpriced just for the entertainment value lol.

Well where do I begin... absolutely horrible. We ordered our food via their website at 8:00pm on a Friday. Let's just say it took 4 hours to come AND THEN IT WAS COMPLETELY WRONG. Bear in mind we called them 6 times in-between to remind them. Every time they denied that we ordered for delivery. My friend was on the phone with the woman for 10 minutes trying to get it sorted and eventually they said they're sending out the right order. It has been 20 minutes since that time and we still haven't received a thing. I couldn't bear to wait any longer to write this review. What a complete waste of time.Avoid.

Moved in the area in February and used most of the local kebab shops. Found lavas being the best plus I always take away never being to there restaurant. I always order the lavas special which costs £26.10 with loads of mixed meat with rice plus 3 dips, pitta bread and mixed salad with coleslaw. Love it!

Ordered from here took hour and 10 minutes for two kebabs. Arrived and I get a mixed kebab which consists of a box of meat and two small pieces of pitta that looks like the packets you get from tesco. Had to call for salad and sauce which has taken over 20 minutes to arrive leaving me with a cold box of meat which is by no means any better than any other kebab shop. What a disappointment after so many people raving about it. Never again.

We ordered a £40 delivery and when it arrived we opened it to find it wasn't what we ordered so many called them and was told the driver had given us someone else delivery and he would come back so 5 minutes later the driver arrived and said he was going to take the food we had to the right people and collect our food from them and bring it back to us so I called lavas and said to them we didn't want food that had been in someone's house and most probably opened for them to see it wasn't there food and by the time it actually gets to us it will be cold, I asked them to re cook out order and I will come and collect it as we didn't want to have to wait another 45 minutes for it to be re delivered, them seemed to be a problem for the lady on the phone and she said she didn't know if we could do this and she would have to speak to her manager, I don't think this was an unreasonable request, she said this was ok so I drove from broxbourne to lavas to get our fresh delivery and when I got back home we was missing food, by this point I was so annoyed and I called lavas and told them and the called me a liar and said they did put it in the bag and after I asked to talk to the manger who called me liar too. After 10 minutes on the phone arguing with them I said I will drive back with the who delivery and they can check it all and see for themselves I am not lying and then they did say they would deliver the missing food which we had to wait another 30minutes for. This is the worst delivery and customer service I had ever had and I definitely won't be ordering from here again.

I'm in love with the Lavas Special. It is honestly £18 worth of pure joy. Every meat you could wish for and the rice is to die for. I have ordered a lot from here over the past few years and nothing has ever been wrong. Absolutely brilliant! The coleslaw is the best.

Popped in here on my way through and ordered BBQ chicken wings and a chicken Shish.The chicken wings appeared microwaved with BBQ just put on top, the chicken pieces in the Shish were bitty and grissly. Really not impressed.Considering there is a restaurants next door I expected the food to be decent however it was the sort of kebab I would normally have after a fair few beers.Would not visit here again and would not recommend.

After an hour and a quarter of waiting for food to be delivered,called up to find out where it was only to be told it's on it's way and no apology. Arrived about 15 mins later and stone cold. Won't be using them again!

Ordered Chicken doner over two hours ago. Rang three times, and each time it was about to be delivered. one time they apparently came but rang the wrong door, but did not phone the house. Totally unprofessional

Ordered set meal plus some other items online for home delivery. After 1 hour and 15 minutes I called the restaurant as nothing had arrived. Received no apology just someone saying they will send it straight away. 35 minutes later it arrived, again no apology just an extra bottle of drink that I didn`t want in the bag. Food was not very hot so had to reheat in microwave. Bread seemed quite stale and the lack of chillies in the salad is an absolute joke. 1 chilli to go with a large tray of meat and rice which was serving 4. Customer service for this restaurant is an absolute joke. I will NEVER be using this place again and will go elsewhere in future.

Went to this restaurant with my wife the food was not bad I had a full English could have been more on the plate but passable portions a bit small for my liking, my wife loved her dinner but I will be sticking to the cafe from now on for my breakfast.

I have order a portion of chicken wings, mideum lamb shish and a kofte adana . The portion of chicken wings was over and over cocked like charcoal( awful) I was a permanent customer , but I will never order something from them again. Really small portions and over cocked. Do not waste your money like I did tonight.

Ordered two lamb shish with all salad. Our order came in quick time but no coleslaw in either. I called up and received an apology as they had forgot. I politely explained that I don't want any kebab without coleslaw. It's like a hot dog with no mustard for me. The guy responded aggressively and angrily and called me rude for not wanting the food. I asked for it to be collected and for me to be issued a refund and received more abuse. I asked if I bought it in, could I get a refund, and got told yes. I went in store where the disrespect and aggressive attitude continued. I left the food and he reluctantly gave me half the money back as one of the meals were not untouched. My sister had had one bite! The "manager" continued to argue and bicker and said that coleslaw was a free gift I should appreciate and not expect all the time. Lol. Never had a stranger or more ridiculous customer service experience with a fast food store. Never going back!

We use the takeaway part quite often.... Not a cheap place but food is excellent... so makes it worth the visitWe've not yet eaten at the restaurant. ... but if the takeaway part is anything to go by... we will do soon

As a family new to the area we had tried a few different food establishments, but once we tried Lavas barbecue house we haven't ordered A kebab from anywhere else. We find the kebabs have a nice favour and is not greasy like most kebabs from other places, also my daughter is fussy when it comes to food but she likes the cheese burger you can smell the charcoal where they have cooked it. We would recommend Lavas... Enjoy.

So excited when we saw this place went in with kids well.... Me and my husband got a crepe and my husband wanted white Choc melted in and banana.When it come out there was 3 pieces of banana in it and noo white chocolate instead it had sauce on top. My husband called the girl over and said he didn't have the White Choc Init & they weren't having any of it apparently it did!! Well it definitely didn't!!! Customer service was awful we paid & left will never be returning

the owners are very friendly and attentive - I have eaten all the types of kebab and the lamb chops and they are all tender and succulent.The main restaurant reopens in a fiew months time (following a fire) Also the selections of deserts are excellent along with good strong hot coffee.They are about to start a full breakfast service as well - English and Mediterranean and I am sure that will be the same quality and value.

Cannot beat the Lamb chops in this restaurant ! You don't even need to order a starter course as you get salad, olives, chilli sauce and a HUGE hot bread which is divine ! great atmosphere and really polite, helpful staff.....love it in here !

The food is sooooo fresh and tasty topped with the chilled atmosphere. Would highly recommend but sadly the restauarant is closed down now. I guess I have no option to order take away from here.

The lamb shish from.the takeaway is really nice and the salad also very nice. Staff are always friendly and the place is always very busy. The restaurant is a bit of a let down. Even though you get free salad, bread and hummus, the main main meals consist of only meat and rice, so can be a little bland. The service in the restaurant is not the best. Highly recommend for a takeaway!

They do a great platter deal which can be amended to suit your needs. Service was quick and the staff friendly. Definetly recommend.

We've visited Lavas on a number of occasions and their food is consistently freshly cooked and of an excellent quality. We've tried this type of food a number of times at other restaurants and the quality is incomparable. The owners are friendly and always go the extra mile. And their sharing platters are a feast! Would defo recommend.

We've been countless times and always had good food . Service can sometimes be great , sometimes needs a bit of improvement when busy . Would recommend the big mezze sharers and feeds a few of us !! Much better than the Kervan style restaurants where I often feel like I'm sitting in a kebab shop . Would recommend !

Nice atmosphere, decent food, good service, reasonable price and good (Turkish) house wine. We ate here on saturday early evening before a show. A mixed meze - almost all vegetarian was delicious .We'll be back soon .

We all went here for Sunday lunch! Service was alittle slow considering it wasn't to busy but we had free starters and mains were yummy! Kids friendly staff talking and playing with them! All round very happy!

We have visited before and the restaurant was good, food was good along with the service. Visited 27/6/15 as a group of 9. Firstly the staff were rude and impatient when we were not ready to order and the menus were snatched off us when we did. The food was barely average, the portions were smaller and presentation was hideous. The Lavas special used to be good, now just cheap cuts of meat on stodgy rice. A swarm of staff took our plates away without asking if we had finished. This place is so far from Authentic Turkish dining. Will never go back, there is far better nearby.

Other reviews see Lava receiving low stars, I went two nights ago and it was excellent.Food beautifully cooked, free bread and salad, and the booze wasn't over priced. As for service...really good too so perplexed about the other reviews.If I came back to this area I'd have no issues returning here.

This used to be a really lovely restaurant. Good food, service and an authentic Turkish feel. Now the food is cold, the plates were filthy and nothing seems fresh! There are far better local Turkish restaurants but the owner of this one clearly doesn't care anymore and has no interest in improvement. It really has gone downhill and we'd never think of heading back again. We told him the food was bad and he did nothing to improve it. So he's lost several customers!

The food was cold and not presented well, we have served better at home. The waitress was friendly ,no complaints about them,but when I complained to the management about the food, her attitude was not good and not really bothered , my advise is go somewhere else

Generally cold, overpriced and just plain bland. Real shame as prime location and lots of competition. Mega kebab always screw up order but at least food is good.

Restaurante turco con platos muy elaborados. El pollo con salsa de yogurt estaba muy rico. Eso si, precios algo elevados.

We have used this restaurant many times. The food is average. However service can be slow. On our last visit we wanted 15mins for someone to take our drinks order. Then we waited another 20mins for them to come. This was before our food order was taken. Our food came but one starter was missing had been forgotten.Our house special came nice & tasty but it would be good if when you order for three you get three of each of item. Only two lamb cutlets 5 small ribs. We were a little disappointed. Great side salad and breads on offer. Staff were friendly and very helpful with our son who is a full time powerchair user. Disabled toilets are reasonable, well you can get a powerchair inside unlike many restaurants where toilet is a cleaners cupboard or you cannot close the door once chair inside. However ladies could do better SOAP would be nice and not like a freezer. Good value on specials but you do need to relax and chat. Be happy to enjoy each other company while you are waiting.

I have heard wonderful things about this place. We ordered a take away. The language barrier was a bit of an issue And the take away line is different to the restaurant.Our order was incorrect and a rice item was missing despite being charged for.Food was okay but no better than anywhere else we have eaten.

The Turkish style food is always of a good quality and served relatively fast, and is very family friendly. Always busy and lives up to expectations.My only fault is the portion sizes are getting smaller with the same prices as before.

Been here a few times and when first opened It was great! But have to say as time has gone on its not good! Main gripe ate the portion sizes! They are so tiny! My hubby had a lamb kebab and had hardly any meat on! We complained and waiter said do u know the price of lamb!! Really! Will be awhile before we chance here again!

My friend and I visited Lavas on Friday evening. Table for two was in an ok location. We ordered a main course of chicken shish and several starters all to share. The chicken shish was extremely small with a portion of cold rice and small salad. Garlic king prawns (3) and little sauce. Humus, can't really go wrong. Borek, filo pastry filled with spinach and feta was just empty filo. Calamari was good but very small. Flatbread was hard and extremely tough definitely not fresh. We did complain and the borek was taken off the bill! Cheshunt/ Walthamcross has several turkish restaurants, I have now tried them all and this is definitely the worst.

My wife and I have never encountered such a rude attitude from the unfriendly staff at the lavas takeaway branch in cheshunt.My wife has been called a liar, in relation to an incorrect order that lavas supplied. I asked for an apology,he declined!! The staff member in question admitted he was the owner,or he said he was the owner.

Been here on a number of occasions and always good,. Best Turkish flatbread I've had anywhere . Meze and Meat kebabs are very nice indeed and the waiting staff are very efficient.Very good value also.

Six of us came to lavas for a birthday meal. The restaurant was very very busy and I think more staff would have been good as the ones who were there were really rushed off their feet. We had the mixed meze to start which was excellent; especially the borek. The mains came out in three stages; two of the party were finished there's by the time the last two got their meals. The waitress didn't charge us for the two last plates out. That was the only issue we had as would have been nice to have eaten at the same time. Again I think this is a short staffed issue. We really enjoyed eating here and would go again.
