Loved everything about this cafe. The small fry breakfast was the best breakfast I've had in a very long time and extremely well priced. Great value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended 👌

Vinimos aquí dos veces en nuestra visita de fin de semana a Belfast. Uno de nuestro grupo era un usuario de silla de ruedas y el personal no podría haber sido más servicial. Tuvimos un desayuno súper sabroso y bien presentado en nuestra primera visita y bollos calientes y café en la segunda visita. El personal fue eficiente, amable y muy atento, incluso notando cuando uno de nuestro grupo tuvo que salir temporalmente, ofreciendo mantener su sándwich tostado caliente hasta que regresara. La comida era muy buena relación calidad-precio. ¡Volveremos!

Bad taste like supermarket, poor service attitude, as if the consumer owed her money, probably only welcome white people. The waitress and the kitchen are always chatting. The plate was slammed onto the table; the plates' life matters too.Is the waitress the boss's daughter? Why so arrogant and uneducated? Never come again. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Google's first bad review to you and no thanks

Vi este bonito restaurante mientras pasaba - me aventuré y no me decepcionó. El restaurante estaba vacío, tenía un par de clientes pidiendo cafés para llevar, etc. El menú fue entregado y el pedido fue tomado rápidamente, como debería, ya que yo era el único allí. La comida era agradable, salió rápido y bien cocinado.

Comemos mucho y tenemos un gran interés en el negocio de la hospitalidad. Así que en lugar de comer en nuestro hotel buscamos un lugar recomendado por Trip Advisor local para el desayuno. Así que a las 9: 30 entramos en La Casa de Lava. Estaba vacío en el interior, excepto una pareja en una mesa de 4 plazas y tenía al menos 20 mesas libres. Pero, en un día muy frío el hombre (no bienvenido en absoluto) nos dijo que nos sentáramos en una mesa para 2 junto a la puerta. Decidimos profundizar y nos sentamos en uno de los numerosos 4 asientos listos para pedir nuestros desayunos ingleses completos. Una mujer se acercó y nos dijo groseramente que a las 10 am esperaban estar de repente muy ocupados y tendríamos que ser movidos. Dijimos que queríamos estar calientes y disfrutar de nuestro desayuno y estábamos felices donde estábamos. Ella persistió y sugirió otro 2 plazas, de nuevo cerca de la puerta. Cuando declinamos y dijimos que nos quedaríamos en la casa ella simplemente tomó los menús y se fue. Por lo tanto, nos retiramos a nuestro Holiday Inn y tuvimos un servicio increíble y un desayuno maravilloso a un costo menor. Eran 50 libras el restaurante vacío rechazado. Demasiado para tratar de apoyar a las empresas locales.

Worst fry I’ve ever had. Ordered on Uber today, which came to £14. When the food arrived, it was a small portion—not even worth a tenner, in my opinion. Like, seriously? £14 for that? Then I began eating. The black pudding tasted smoky and awful—so bad that my dog didn’t even want to eat it. The mushrooms tasted disgusting, same with the beans. Everything was just a letdown and not worth the money. I suggest going to The Peppercorn or ordering from Peppercorn Café on the Woodstock Road if you want a fry, because their fry’s are amazing, unlike this. Don’t order a fry from here—the price is extortionate, and the food tastes awful.

Paramos aquí para tomar una copa y los desayunos parecían buenos, así que volvimos al día siguiente. No nos decepcionó, el desayuno era excelente.

Visité aquí para el desayuno, ya que habíamos visto que tenía buenas críticas. Estaba bastante vacío cuando llegamos, pero las mesas pronto comenzaron a llenarse. La lista de reproducción era fantástica y tengo que decir, aparte de las flores preciosas en las mesas, esto fue lo mejor de nuestra visita. El hombre que nos servía era miserable, el servicio era lento, nuestra comida se sentó en el paso durante bastante tiempo, mi bagel tostado se mostró literalmente la tostadora, y las salchichas estaban demasiado cocidas y bastante sin sabor y para cuando la comida llegó el té de mi compañero se había enfriado. Alrededor de 30 minutos para una salchicha y panceta, cuando solo había otras 2 o 3 mesas (una de las cuales ya había sido servida) fue una larga espera. Probablemente no volvería a visitar lo cual es una pena, ya que se veía encantador desde el exterior!

It's the worst restaurant I've ever been to in the morning for breakfast but now my stomach hurts so much and I saw the guy at the bar sticking his finger in his nose.

This place used to be great but the standards have dipped massively. They never answer their phone when there is an issue with food quality or delivery and it's an incredibly sad situation to see, given this was such a nice place. I wouldn't waste your money if you want food that is warm, on time and decent quality. Also it's impossible to speak to any of the staff as their phone line is constantly 'engaged'

Unfortunately the lady who works there is a bit rude and grimmy all the time. It’s like I wasn’t welcome there. The food is not a bad quality and the coffee is okay too but the service is really bad. It’s all about the smile and being friendly.

Great value, great food, great service, great ambience. Came here for breakfast, I had the smoked salmon and poached eggs on sour dough toast, it was lovely, the coffee was spot on, thank you would recommend.

Love the porridge, herbal tea and chai latte here. However, on two occasions the garnish in porridge was different. The French toast could also have been better. But worth the price

UPDATE: I will not be returning here until the man here stops abusing his wife , treating her like a slave.and being a total misogynist to the other woman. Was relaxing, well designed, comfortable place with friendly service, great food! Super super super!!! ❤️❤️❤️ I sooo hate to say this 😭 but I have trouble walking ,am completely alone and the height of the one step going in is very hard for me to navigate. I will not stop going there EVER until I move from this area. Last time, I got a finger stuck in the door hinge as I tried to hang on to something while holding the door open. THAT'S how good Lava House is.

I came here for lunch as I was passing by. You order at the counter and then take a seat. I ordered an Italian Panini which was OK in quality but was relatively cold by the time it was served to me. The problem is that there is one person at the counter for taking orders and delivering the orders to the tables. I could see my panini sitting there for ages before it was served. Excellent value for money.

Highly recommended place where to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner. Absolutely relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff.

Went on a lovely date with my roommates boyfriend and ordered a Caesar salad and a 6oz and he ordered the bacon and lentils soup with a barbeque burger. Both the starters and the mains for our course were delicious and would happily come again for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Fry was absolutely beautiful and the staff are very friendly.

Walking around the city centre we stopped for a coffee. We enjoyed the good Lavazza espresso and the chocolate and coconut cake sitting at the table inside. Friendly place and staff.

Good service. Coffee was good, food OK. My partner had a breakfast bap which was nice, I had poached eggs with salmon and avocado, asked if bread was toasted and I was told it was (it wasn't), avocado was not very ripe, salmon and poached eggs were good. Mine was overpriced.

Quite a nice breakfast. Had a large fry, there is option to remove any item you do not like and replace it, nice view out the window.

Not my first choice of restaurant... The food was mediocre and the dining room was pretty dark. The fish and chips were ok but the carbnara was the best thing that we got here. Good if you want something quicker.

Large fry was tasty only thing is you get a 1/4 soda, pancake & half a potato bread this is less than what I expected for a large fry everything else was great and the service is excellent. Will definitely be back.

The food was good, shame as the service totally spoiled our visit. The staff was rude and I was charged for the wrong table, when I asked for the receipt the blonde girl said that she couldn't give me one as she had to accept it first. (I have worked in hospitality as a waitress and then manager for 16 years and never heard such a thing before) she then gave me the difference back in cash, visibly angry as it wasn't fault. I would advise your staff to maybe double check with customer before charging and perhaps not to take it on the customer for their mistakes as they can happen, but there's no need to be rude! When I went to the counter, she didn't even look at me and said: it's X amount in total. She had no idea where I was seating and what we eat. Worst service ever experienced.

Nice food when it arrives. Absolutely atrocious waiting times even when they aren't that busy. Waited 40 mins for a veggie fry, the cup of tea took 20 minutes.

Grim experience all round. Ordered on deliveroo at half 11 didn't get our order till half 1. Normally not a massive issue for food to be late but the fact I called the restaurant 15 times to ask what was happening with no answer speaks volumes for the respect they have for their paying customers. All that for a mediocre burger, soggy sweet potato fries, hard poached eggs and under ripe avacado. Will not be ordering again.

Must be best value for money in Belfast. I always love coming here. Got a Caesar salad, Cappuccino with Oat milk and a Flapjack and spent less than 13 pounds for good sized portions

Ordered lunch at the office due to high reviews.... Arrived on time and sadly thats the only redeeming quality, Toasted Sandwich wrapped in paper with ice cold drinks placed on top, meant is was cold and soggy, was barely toasted to start with, baked potato was not in any way eatable, congealed and poor quality, went straight to the bin after one mouthful! £14.00 wasted on this How do they get away with high reviews with such poor offering's?

Booked a hotel without breakfast included and Lava House more than filled that gap. Both breakfasts were wonderful, staff were excellent, and the coffee was good.

Had an absolutely outstanding cup of coffee at the new Lava House on the corner opposite (says it’s a deli on Google Maps, but it’s now a Lava House too) - probably the best coffee I’ve had outside of Naples 👌 Definitely the best coffee in Belfast!

The blueberry smoothie was excellent! My husband had the blue cheese burger and he said it was very flavourful. Food was cooked to order so can take time to arrive, but very good food and very reasonably priced.

Bounced in here for an oul breakfast date with some bird, have to say the fry was delicious, a nice quiet spot amongst the hustle and bustle of Dublin road, I loved the art work too.

I like this place but needs to think more about needs and offering for vegetarians. They have a Veggie breakfast but not great value and they don't really understand needs of veggies to ensure good protein level. The veggie breakfast has all the same ingredients of the meat breakfast fry except they replace 2sausages 2bacon 2eggs and blackpudding with... 1veggie sausage and only 1egg !! It is just over £1 cheaper Which means for that £1 meat eaters get an extra meat sausage and extra egg and 2bacon plus blackpudding !! So no real attempt to provide veggies with similar value. Also sadly their single veggie sausage is the type primarily made of vegetables without much of a Protein source. So veggies primarily get their Protein from 1egg and a small helping of beans. It's a shame as we like this place and we'd expect they'd get some better advice from vegetarians about making what they offer both better in ingredients and better in value. Hope they read reviews would be so easy to add some ingredients like hallumi or other protein sources and at least match the 2eggs that meat eaters get. Here's living in hope !! Staff efficient and friendly. Tables clean and well maintained.

Stopped in here for breakfast after checking out of the hotel next door and before heading to the airport, for a small bite to eat before flying. There's a fairly comprehensive menu, and the food and drink is tasty and fresh, and is served quickly and with friendly service. Nice decor and atmosphere inside with a homely feel to it. Good value for money overall, so would recommend as a whole 👍🏻

We waited too long in this restaurant so in the end were quite disappointed. Unfortunately it took over 30 min to order and another 30 min for the food to arrive. The food itself wasn't bad but the vegan sausage was a bit unusual.. Glad to see a vegan breakfast on offer nonetheless. Unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant.

This is a lovely cafe and their large fry will set you up for the day. Prices are very reasonable. Salmon and poached eggs are great as is the bacon bagel with cream cheese.

Didn't have one as we only went in for coffee and cake, but the cooked breakfast looked really good and seemed a popular choice.

We ordered the pancakes and a fry. They were both so so delicious and filling! The servers were so lovely but it was a bit slow. Price was cheap for the portion and kept us full all day. Would definitely recommend the chai lattes!

As we were room only at the Holiday Inn around the corner we needed something before going to the Airport. We popped in and had a lovely breakfast, the filled soda bread was gorgeous, really nice sausages and the fried egg was perfect. The menu is well balanced with good inexpensive options. The restaurant was spotless and our waitress was Lovell. , bought a nice caramel flap jack for later. I might try the pancake stake next time.
