Great food and incredibly friendly staff

Food is absolutely incredible. The menu changes by season I believe but everything I’ve had here has been lovely. Really cute spot, love the local touches and history about the wee dog Molly! Love supporting an independent restaurant and really lovely staff

Exceptional.but portions so so big

Iba al teatro con la familia y reservamos aquí para comer antes. Realmente disfruté del pescado, pero mis primos no estaban tan interesados en su plato de cordero, que empañó la experiencia un poco. En general, es un bar acogedor y realmente me encantó el ambiente, solo una lástima que todos no disfrutaron de su comida tanto como yo.

Wow! What a fantastic experience. I got the lamb, my friend got the chicken, and we both had a great meal! Absolutely recommend this place for anyone. The atmosphere is great, service very nice, and great drink/menu selection.

I almost never write reviews for anything, but this place and the food they served truly warranted one. The atmosphere is so cozy and genuine, providing a comfortable dining experience that feels completely local and authentic. The food is priced astonishingly well, even more so when considering the quality food you are served. I would absolutely recommend this hidden Belfast gem to anyone, and if I am ever back in Belfast again, I will be sure to visit!

A great unexpected treasure....to be honest I stopped because the sign said craft beers and restaurant. A quaint experience....which I truly enjoyed will revisit on my return to Belfast.

Seafood chowder is delicious!! Service is great!

Wow! That was shocking. Four people, we all ordered ribeye steak. Two were well cooked ribeye, two were clearly not even a ribeye - unbelievable! They were both two separate thin steaks stacked on top of each other. No atmos. Poor service. Over priced. Not even a goodbye on leaving and there were only 2 tables in use whilst we were there. If this standard is the norm this place will be shut in no time. Sad really because the facility has the potential to be special.

We expected a bit more from our meal. While the food was nice, we weren't thrilled. We booked based on the menu we saw online, but unfortunately, the dishes didn’t match what was advertised, and the prices had all increased. It’s disappointing because if we had known the actual menu, we would have chosen a different restaurant. The portion sizes have significantly decreased. We ordered the chicken supreme, which was decent, but the cauliflower sauce was a bit watery and didn’t complement the dish well. The much-touted butternut squash gnocchi? There were only three, and calling them gnocchi is generous—they bore little resemblance to the real thing. The plate also included just three pieces of carrot and a slice of zucchini, which left us quite shocked. For dessert, we tried the cheesecake tiramisu, but it was a letdown. The coffee on the ladyfingers was overly bitter and overwhelmed the other flavors. Given that we left still hungry, the bill felt excessive for what we received. Overall, it wasn’t worth it.

Gorgeous spot lovely staff great vegan options

Some of the best food I’ve ever had, truly. I got the salmon/smoked haddock special, my fiancé got the lamb burger, and we split a seafood chowder to start. The seafood chowder had ENORMOUS chunks of fresh, delicious salmon. The wine list is pretty good for Ireland and features Romanian wine in particular. Loved every bite!

Special place, interesting food and staff/atmosphere 10. We will return.

Chowder estaba bien, un poco acuoso para mi gusto con trozos de pescado congelados llenos de patata. El pollo era un poco amargo y una porción mala con verduras flácidas y una cosa de croquet de carne inusual pero sabrosa. Pero todo un poco marrón. El postre Brownie fue genial, pero no puede ir mal allí. Decepcionado con la selección de bebidas con las cervezas limitadas a productos hilden. Servicio genial. Todo se entregó sospechosamente rápido.

The service at the restaurant was great, but food-wise we didn't have equally good dishes. My order, which was a specialty of Colby fish with salmon cake was tasty (although it missed a bit more sides), but the other order, the burger of the house, didn't match the expectations - buns were stale (at least a day old), and the taste wasn't so good. We also ordered diet Coke which was stale as well (as if it was poured from an old tape), but the waitress didn't charge it at all and we appreciated it as a gesture of professionalism. All in all, we believe the place has potential, but doesn't match up to the expectations we had about it once we entered.

Had a fantastic meal in Mollys yard love the hilden brews they really have done an amazing job with this place to give a 5 star review was my intention but I would say we felt like we were being educated on irish history from Martin the manager it was uncomfortable I don't believe their should be political talk in a restaurant to customers from England I think this guy has a bit too much to say at work maybe he should keep his political views to himself and don't be a nuisance to customers .

Fantastic restaurant... the food was amazing. Really flavoursome and excellent portion sizes. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

Atmosphere is non existent, no music no nothing. Would’ve loved to try the food, but there was no service so we left after waiting for a while.

We went here for lunch for a birthday treat. This is such a lovely spot. Very clean warm and welcoming. It's not a large space which makes it cosy. We spent three hours here having delicious food and drinks. Staff couldn't have been nicer. I would highly recommend this place for girls day out with loads of chats and lovely food. Service was great and staff very friendly. Ten out of ten for me.

Lovely little restaurant with indoor & outdoor seating. Weather was pants so we sat inside. Staff were extremely pleasant & helpful. The food was insanely good and very appropriately priced. The cottage pie with lamb shank was an absolute winner! All told a beautiful evening - great company, great food. Nice wine too 😉

I had been wanting to go here for such a long time but was very very disappointed. Good points, staff friendly and welcoming. Let downs how run down the downstairs indoor space was. It was so uncomfortable we both regretted even sitting down. Considering they had a regular Menu and a special Valentine day special we both struggled to find something we would eat and ended up choosing the same Whiskey buger which was not what I had intended. The bugger itself was nice but the bill was not work the £65.00. This included 1 drink and 2 deserts. My advice is go somewhere else more comfortable, more food options and a place you would want to spend time in not rush to leave .

Food was bland, cocktails were overpriced, sofa seat against the wall was like sitting on a tilted high chair. Service was ok but the food took 45 minutes to come. I would avoid sitting downstairs, have sat upstairs before and it was a much nicer experience. Unfortunate because I have had great meals here in the past.

Nice cozy small place. Chowder was really good . Also the linguine with the ham . Since it is not too big is better to book a table in advance.

Great vegan and vegetarian options. The chef is innovative with the menu and creates vegan alternatives. I had the vegan steak and chips. Delish! I highly recommend Molly's Yard.

Our first, but certainly not our last, visit to Molly’s Yard. From the moment we walked in and greeted by Emma- the smiling, attentive front of house- we were delighted to have made the reservation here. Emma immediately made us feel welcome, knew how to make the kids mock-tails and was fully knowledgeable on both the food and drinks menus. All four of us ordered different meals, venison pie, chicken supreme, pork loin and goats cheese; all of these were exceptional. From presentation to taste, they were spot on. The girls finished their meal with a brownie which they devoured The restaurant was small and could seat 12 in total however, it was massive in regards to what it provided. Thank you for a wonderful evening. We will be back when we return to Belfast!

We really enjoyed the restaurant close to the University. We parked at the university after the hour and so it was close to walk by. The flatbread starter was delicious. We had the chicken dish and it was great. The desserts were nice too.

Since my first visit there it has become a must- stop every time I happen to be in Belfast. The food is always excellent, well presented and is served with great local craft beers. The service is impeccable and very friendly, with the final touch of a cosy and warm atmosphere.

Had a lovely experience. My steak was cooked to perfection. The Mrs had a great seafood chowder and the staff were lovely. Even though we had arrived early nothing was a bother. We will definitely be back soon.

Disappointed, heard good things but definitely not up to standard.

2nd visit to this restaurant having been before and really enjoyed it. We'd looked at the menus on their website and were happy with the lamb dish on offer and the vegetarian choice on offer so we booked. The reality when we got there however, was completely underwhelming. The menu we were given was completely different from the one on their website. There's now no lamb but there's a confit duck leg so I had that and it was excellent. For my partner the vegetarian choice now on offer is just not to her liking and contains several elements that she just doesn't like and would never order. I have to ask for some changes to the dish and this seems to lead to almost a confrontation with the chef asking what sauce she would now like because the dish now needs a sauce as she has removed the pepperonata. The whole encounter just took away all of the pleasure for us and it has to be said that it was them who caused the problem, not us. If we'd known what was actually on offer we wouldn't have booked in the 1st place and the problem can easily be solved by making sure that the website is up to date. Simple as that!

Great little restaurant close to QUB, serving wonderfully fresh and tasty food and a good selection of wines. The food was modern with kind of an Irish twist, the staff very friendly.

Very friendly little pub with a limited menu but food was good. Waitress was prompt and service was good. Would recommend for a casual meal.

Molly's Yard is a wee restaurant that id off the beaten path in the student area of Belfast (Botanic). You may not notice it as you walk by but it is a lovely spot to go to. The restaurant is medium size, has a downstairs, upstairs and outdoor seating that is fully covered. It had a lovely vibe and you can see the kitchen which is a plus. The food was fantastic - I had a lovely Gnocci but was made differently to what I have had before. They serve local beers as well as the standards. Service was good, staff were lovely and friendly. Pros: - clean, lovely atmosphere - speedy service, lovely food - friendly staff and welcoming - excellent prices for quality of food Cons: - limited seating so book in advance - not overly wheelchair accessible - warm downstairs in Summer but windows are there Overall, this is a lovely spot to attend with friends, family or a first date. Would definitely recommend it.

Visited here yesterday for a late lunch before heading to a concert. Oh my word this place is a wee hidden gem and cannot believe I have not found it before. The lunch menu may appear limited but don’t let that put you off as there is something for everyone and all I can say the quality of the food is amazing and well presented and reasonably priced for what you get . Service was second to none from Booking to when we left . The staff are so friendly and accommodating and a big shout out to Marty , he was just superb and so helpful . Definitely will be back and cannot wait

Delighted with my return visit to this little treasure of a restaurant! I was there with a group of friends who were there on my recommendation . . . and Molly’s Yard certainly didn’t let me down! Varied evening menu . . . it was difficult to make final choices! Lovely service and atmosphere. Would thoroughly recommend Molly’s Yard.

I've been several times and it's usually very good but my last visit was not as good. Everyone at the table was disappointed with the quality of their food. It is a lovely restaurant so hopefully the food returns to previous levels of quality.

Visited Molly's Yard for lunch with my team. We had a large table to ourselves upstairs. Service was impeccable, not overbearing, just right. And as for the food. Everyone said it was a highlight of our 2 days in Belfast. Truly spectacular with an amazing attention to detail. The plant based options were amazing, and I will be going back next time I am in Belfast. Highly recommended.

Great location, tucked away behind the university and botanical garden. Great simple menu, not cheap by any means so we stuck to the hummus and 3 starters, the cauliflower wings were great sticky sweet and chilli hot, the blue cheese beetroot salad which was fresh and light and my celery apple soup which didn’t work for me just too light in taste and reminded me of baby apple pudding. Definitely worth a visit and definitely going to be going back ourselves. All served by brilliant staff.

Came in on a whim on route to botanical Gardens (3 minutes walk) for a light meal and glass of wine. Sat outside as setting is done beautifully. Staff friendly and attentive. Music put on outside for us which was relaxed. Excellent vegan/vegetarian options. Food was perfect. Fresh, lovely flavours. Definitely one to visit.

Molly's Yard was certainly a highlight of my short stay in Belfast. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service and that beautiful goat herder's pie washed down with some refreshing beverages courtesy of Hilden Brewing Company!

Out of the 4 countries I’ve been to this trip, Molly’s Yard had the best food we experienced! The sea bass was amazing and the chicken was the juiciest I’ve had ever! The brownie and cheesecake for dessert really set it off! 10 out of 10 would recommend!!

This restaurant is so fantastic. It far exceeded our expectations. It is very reasonably priced for the quality of food, the staff were super (taking great care to accommodate my food intolerances) and the food is delicious. I just wish we had room to try their good looking cheese board. Would really recommend this restaurant and will be returning to it on our next visit to Belfast.

It's a lovely and cosy place - one of the best foods on Botanic and with great craft beer to wash it down. It's very tiny so best to book in advance!

Absolutely love the food and service at Mollys Yard. Marty is a gentleman. We had our wedding meal here and people are still talking about the food. Can't thank them enough for how accommodating and easy they made everything. Big fan!
