E mail offer from Las Iguanas of 40% off Mains so joined friends here today for lunch. I chose the Acapulco Burger - Buttermilk fried chicken breast topped with tomato, lettuce, sweet chipotle slaw, warm cheese sauce & lime habanero mayo - served with straight cut fries. 10/10 from me, the burger was large & tasted exceptionally good. Priced @ £16 80, with 40% off Main course it worked out to £10 80! Excellent value for a very enjoyable burger

Updated summer 2024: Seems the management have taken onboard the issues they were having in the early days. I've been here a handful of times recently and each time the service has been good and the food as it should be. The Lunchtime Fiesta menu is great value. Glad they have stuck it out in Friars Walk as it's now one of the best places there. -------- Old review: I so wanted to love this place when it opened in Friars Walk. I made it a point to be the first place I visited. First visit, took my in-laws and confidently told our guests they'd be able to order dairy free here, no problem. Waiter said "No, the burritos are already rolled." What?! I hadn't been before and I didn't want to cause a fuss so I believed him but I was confused. Isn't this what Las Iguanas are known for? My father in law also didn't want to cause a fuss so ended up eating something with cheese in, which although he isn't vegan, he doesn't like it. I asked what was available without dairy and the waiter pointed something out which could be made vegan but didn't offer me the dairy free menu, which at this point I didn't know to ask for. So first visit was a very expensive meal with two people out of four paying to eat something they didn't really want. Not to mention I was slightly embarrassed having been the one to choose the place because I believed we'd all be able to get something we liked here. I contacted head office who apologized and wanted to make amends by offering a discount to return, only 25% off. After the fact, I realised they often give this sort of discount for various promotions, it wasn't anything special, not much of a compensation at all. As I said, I really wanted to like it here so I took up the offer and on the following visit they did get everything right and we had an enjoyable evening. Great. All is forgiven, right? Wrong. The subsequent three visits they took my order where I expressly and emphatically asked for the vegan version, and each and every time my food was delivered covered in cheese. Each time, I noticed before I started eating and returned it. To be fair, they did refund me the cost of the food and replace the food, which I thought was good the first time, but got sick of having to sit and watch the rest of my party eat whilst they went off and sorted mine out. Then others had to wait for me to eat my replaced meal which, of course, came out after everyone else had finished. Spoils the whole dining out experience having to send food back every time. Each time I have fed this back to head office who have referred it to the branch manager. They say all the right things but since the service didn't improve after giving them so many chances, I was left with no choice but to stop eating here. What a shame. This branch not recommended for vegans. Or if you do have to eat here, make sure you see them press the 'vegan' button when taking your order. Apparently this is all they have to do.

Went in recently with my sister for the bottomless brunch and despite initially having someone come every time our drinks were nearing empty it started to be a wait of about 10 minutes post finishing the drink to be seen and then after our 2 hours we’re up, we both left feeling almost entirely sober Unsure if the drinks were watered down but considering I drink maybe once every 3/4 months (if that!) and hadn’t eaten before I got there, I would’ve imagined that I would’ve at least had a buzz going considering it cost us almost £40 each.

Have no idea where the good reviews for this bottomless brunch come from... firstly let me say the food was ok and the waiting staff were lovely.. my bad review is for the quality of the cocktails on the bottomless brunch if you're thinking of doing a bottomless brunch this is the worst one I've ever been on the quality of the cocktails compared to buying a normal cocktail on a normal day are completely different I've had many cocktails in here on a normal day and they are lovely but the ones in the bottomless brunch were nothing more than glasses of orange squash and blackcurrent squash, bland taste, weak alcohol content, pre-made cheap rubbish with no presentation whatsoever basically just glasses of squash save your money and go to a decent bottomless brunch like Turtle Bay... I will also say the customer service is appalling took me over a month to get a response from them through emailing and Facebook

Had an amazing bottomless brunch today. We were slightly late due to train delays but it wasn't an issue. Izzi was our server and was so attentive, it added to our day out. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was good and the drinks flowed.

We were met with smiles and taken straight to our table. The lady that served us was very attentive, professional and very friendly. Our drinks were lush and came very quickly. The food was also lush and that came quickly too. We were looked after very well and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend and will be back. ❤️

my waitress was billy and he was awful and no help what so ever, first of all didn’t know anything about the food or prices and my daughter wanted to order one of the currys that came with spring onion rice, as she doesn’t like spring onion we politely asked if the chef could remove it he was rude about the situation and said no we cannot do that, i proceeded to ask him if he could ask the chef to remove it, he said no. I think they is absolutely ridiculous because you can order PLAIN rice on the kids menu? as it states you can get a free kids meal for an adults meal, as my eldest daughter had a adults meal my son would have gotten a free kids meal but as she wasn’t an adult he said we couldn’t have the free kids meal but doesn’t state on the terms and conditions you have to be an adult? an adults meal is an adults meal at the end of the day. He also completely messed up the bill, i proceeded to ask him how long he had worked in las iguanas as he didn’t seem to know anything and called me rude, i asked for his name but he refused to give it to me, clearly knew he was in the wrong! (his name was on the bill) i just think he was an absolute fool, however the food was excellent.

I'm giving no stars for service on purpose. The man on front of house must have been up late last night because he was too tired to stand up when my party entered the restaurant. Eventually got up to show us to the table talking about card only whilst walking away from us and lazily leaning right across the table to replace a menu. The other female server wasn't in much better mood. Comes to something when the chef has to shout through to the restaurant to ask for a menu because he doesn't know what goes into a dish. Food was mediocre but the service was absolute pants and that's us done.

Staff at las iguanas Newport are insane! They adopt such a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere. Jess worked well to engage us as customers and was super accommodating. Bar staff were excellent with service and drinks were quick despite how busy it was. Food was excellent. Top tier chefs. Would definitely recommend and will be back! Good job guys x
