So lovely here. Rooms very comfortable and warm. Lovely comfy bed, tea/coffee etc all replenished daily. All the staff are friendly and very helpful. The food is wonderful , at breakfast there is nothing anyone could want that is not available and there's lots of choice on the evening dinner menu. All the food is beautifully cooked and well presented. I highly recommend the Langstone Hotel, you could go far and pay more but you won't find an equivalent.

Massive shout out to the Langstone Cliff Hotel for helping me to host my Aunt's 90th Birthday celebrations. Not living in Devon, I needed to arrange this from a distance and the support I received from the Langstone was fantastic...nothing was too much trouble! The finishing touch was when team members came together to sing happy birthday to her. It really touched her. Thank you so much Langstone. You have so much heart ❤️

We're local and visit most weeks for coffee and cake. The beautiful garden has sea views and is a great place to meet friends for coffee or a meal. There's play equipment for kids, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and dogs are welcome as long as paws stay on the floor. Its a really friendly, family run hotel.

Lovely dancing weekend, great location and food, excellent ballroom. Room was ok but disappointed not to be allocated a sea view that we had requested whilst lots of others in our party had sea views and balcony but hadn’t requested which was a nice bonus for them. Although I have stayed at the Langstone Cliff hotel many times, I never leave without wanting to return. Everyone makes you feel so welcome, lovely Louise, Suzy, Vicky and the rest of the family and staff look after you so well. They truly make everyone feel so special. There is as many others say something truly special about the Langstone, just ask my Grandchildren where is their favourite place ❤️

Whilst not the easiest place to find, or drive to, the view of the Teign estuary more than makes up for it. Outside it has a slightly 60s feel, but inside it is decorated in a 30s style of traditional, but comfortable up-market hotel. We were there specifically for an afternoon tea that was purchased as a gift; and this was immensely enjoyable. There was a choice of sandwiches, and also a cream tea, followed by cake fancies. The tea and coffee were hot and excellent; the glass of prosecco cool and welcome on the hot day. The food was well presented and extremely tasty, and also quite filling. The hotel offers a grassy lawn outside with tables & chairs for residents to take full advantage of the glorious view. But be aware; there are seagulls who are quite happy to take food off the plates of the unwary! There are a couple of bars open throughout the day; although they may close part of the facility for staff to work on other areas. Although it would seem to be aimed more at the older patrons, the hotel does provide some children's play facilities, and some pools that children could use. There is a decent sized car park; this is chargeable unless you are using the hotel and they offer free parking via a touchscreen login at reception. There are some facilities for those with mobility issues, but it might also be advisable to warn staff in advance to allow them to assist. For us, it was a wonderful day out, and one that we would definitely recommend highly.

Staying at Sand Bay caravan park we decided to treat ourselves to an evening meal here. Lovely setting and a grand hotel. For us personally, although the food was excellent, it felt too much as if we were guests of the hotel rather than passing trade. The dining room typically laid out for hotel guests with a carvery and not as cosy and welcoming as others we have been to. Still worth a visit though.

The Langstone Cliff is a lovely hotel with all friendly staff. We just returned from a sunny beach holiday in Dawlish Warren and stated here. The surrounding is beautiful with its gardens, greenery, seatings on the lawns, kids play park, tennis court, and outdoor pools. It also has indoor amenities including kids playroom, indoor pools, fitness centre, snooker rooms, and lots of lounge space. We stayed in a spacious open area family room with a double bed, two single beds, and a lounge with sofas: one three- seater and two single seaters. There was a modern and well lit ensuite with a digital mirror. We had a breakfast and dinner half board, and we really enjoyed the restaurant. Ruby, Annie, Jane, to name a few looked after us with lots of smiles and helpfulness. The menu changed each day and was a welcome treat. The hotel is close to Funder park, a small theme park and adventure golf, which is opposite a large observation wheel, and also leads to the beach. We had a mix of fun and relaxed time, and look forward to visiting again.

We booked as a quick few days away. The view from hotel overlooking the sea was beautiful. They have a covered terrace where you can sit eating a snack lunch or just having a quiet drink. I am in a wheelchair and was able to get round the whole hotel. Every room was tastefully decorated with lots of comfy seats and sofas. We watched the England football game surrounded by families and children and they accept dogs, so it felt like a home. There is a great choice of menu every meal and on several occasions we asked for some slight alteration to the meal, like no walnuts, no bacon bits and they obliged with no hesitation. All staff were warm and welcoming and we felt like we were friends not paying guests. We actually wish we had booked for longer, but I got sunburnt on first day on the beach which is a ten minute walk from the hotel, it's a gentle slope then a flat walk to beach. Oh yes I forgot to mention the indoor is wonderful a great temperature and easy steps for me to leave wheelchair and get into the pool which was warm, perfect. We can highly recommend to everyone who wants a home from home feel to a family run modern hotel, with good WiFi See you in September

Another very successful family celebration thanks to the Langstone Cliff Hotel . Twenty family and friends stayed for the weekend of 24th May 2024 to celebrate our golden wedding . We stayed for three nights , we had a fabulous weekend , thanks to Louise and her amazing team. All the staff are friendly , nothing was too much trouble , rooms very clean and comfortable with a newly upgraded bathroom for us . The food was excellent , good choice for everyone , we had a family lunch for thirty two people in the Orchid room everyone commented on what a really lovely lunch with excellent service we were all very well looked after . Thank you to the Chef especially for the Sticky Toffee Pudding ! The children as usual had a ball ! They loved KB sounds and Professor Bumble . The swimming pool indoors was a great success as was all the running around the grounds playing chase and hide and seek! So accessible to the beautiful beach and the fairground rides . It is difficult to pinpoint why the Langstone Cliff is such a special place for us , I think because it is a truly wonderful place for all the family it caters for everyone , we have 4 year olds through to 80 year olds . Wonderful setting beautiful views across the Bay very relaxing . Thank you yet again to all of the Langstone Cliff Team

The LSCH feels like it exists in something of a time warp – and this proves to be both a strength and a weakness. Its greatest asset is undoubtedly its staff who are friendly, attentive and for whom literally nothing is too much trouble. The dinner service in particular feels like something a bit special and straight out of a bygone age. However there are some places where that same sense of being untouched by time diminishes the overall experience. For example, I previously visited the LSCH in the 90s as a child and I recall the step ladder into the indoor pool being loose. Or, more accurately, the memory resurfaced as the ladder swayed beneath me again more than two decades on. There were other niggles too – a damaged en-suite tap, poor in-room tv reception, a broken mattress spring – that you would not expect at this price point that add to a sense of tiredness. That is not to say that the hotel feels neglected. The decor is generally fresh (if dated for my own personal taste) and everything is kept clean and tidy both inside and in the well-manicured grounds outside. My final comment/suggestion regards guests with dietary restrictions. The LSCH offers a welcome allergen menu, however, offering a vegan option which, according to their own menu, ‘may contain milk’ simply isn’t a vegan option. Furthermore, it would be welcome if there were a little more variation. The dessert option was the same on every night of our stay (sorbet) which feels a little unimaginative. Overall the LSCH is a pleasant place to spend time and it serves its target demographic perfectly, however it is not going to suit everyone.

We came to stay with our friends who are longstanding guests. We absolutely had the best time . We stayed for the weekend and were stunned by the friendliness and helpfulness absolutely everyone there. Nothing was too much trouble, my dairy free diet was fully catered for and I never felt like I was a nuisance and the vegan apricot sundae was a joy. So close to the beach we walked into Dawlish, we swam in the supermarket pool and I could get in and out easily using the two handled blue steps. I haven't been swimming for a year following z ligament injury in my foot and with these steps it was so easy. Our room was wonderful, clean, cosy and just so homely. We spent two happy evenings in the guest lounge chatting, laughing and drinking tea...it was just the happiest. Relaxed weekend we have had for years. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much.

This year we stayed during half term week so the hotel was very busy. However the staff were still on top of everything. Our 3rd time visiting Langstone Cliff. It's the perfect location for exploring Dawlish and Dawlish Warren. Only a few minutes walk from the train station, so it makes exploring further afield easy too. Ideal location for families! The rooms are nice, but very dependent on which type you get. The large family room sleeps 4 people, but very little room in-between beds, so feels very cramped. I wouldn't recommend this room if you're a family of 4 with a dog - it's not big enough. However, in the past, we've had the family suite and it's ideal for a weeks stay - with a sofa and space to leave your bags etc without tripping over eachother. The bar service was great and generally good in the restaurant area. We'd visit again, it's a great hotel for the family!

Great location for this hotel but family room was very cramped, we had to leave our case in the car as there was no room for it to be unpacked in the room as there was no floor space at all apart from by the bathroom door! I didn’t see any room like ours on the pictures online so was very disappointed. Also lots of large dogs around outside who were very boisterous and owners letting them urinate on the grass where children were playing. This was very off putting but not the hotels fault, very disrespectful dog owners letting dogs run riot over children’s area knocking kids snacks out of their hands!

The hotel is a short walk from the beach and was an enjoyable stroll. The hotel was popular and seemed to be quite booked up which must be repeat customers as well as newbies like us! Staff were almost all fabulous. The service was excellent and the staff couldn’t do enough to make the stay enjoyable. A particular mention has to go to the restaurant team. The hotel is in a lovely location, close to the coastal path and we loved watching the trains go by. We booked for bed and breakfast only. On the first evening we chose a meal from the bar menu which is extensive. We booked evening meal after that and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The meals were delicious and it was so lovely to be served coffee in the comfort of the lounge or TV room. The hotel is very child-friendly and there was a lovely mixture of couples and families. Overall, it was such a refreshing change to stay in such a friendly, warm and welcoming hotel where you were made to feel special instead of some of the faceless, bland places we have stayed in where you are just one of many passing through. A group of us went to Langston Cliff after ordering tea, this was very poor in quality and service was sporadic to say the least dry cake very poor scones and not enough jam/cream for the 4 of us.neede to ask for more tea and coffee needed to be asked for and not served with the tea.

Great location with good facilities for all age ranges. Staff were welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. Food good with vegetarian choices. Did some good coastal walks directly from the hotel and walked into Dawlish and Dawlish Warren and further. Will definitely be returning.

This was our fourth visit and hopefully not our last. We visited with family members and two dogs and I can honestly say we couldn't have asked for a better holiday. The hotel is clean and welcoming, every member of staff goes over and above what would be expected of them The facilities are perfect for all ages and includes two pools, tennis court, soft play and a large garden where the many sunbeds mean the sea view can be enjoyed. The food is excellent, plentiful and varied and young children can have an early dinner if required. Our clean downstairs room, with a balcony, was quite big enough for us (two people) and two golden retrievers who were welcomed not just tolerated as were all child guests. To sum up, this is a hotel which actually cares about all guests and ensures everyone has a lovely holiday!

Stayed with family including young Grandchildren (10 - 23 months), they loved the park area with climbing frames, small houses and indoor & outdoor pools.

This is a very attractive and well maintained hotel with plenty of parking. On arrival, check in is easy and straight forward. The rooms are a good size, we are a family of four( two children 8 & 10 years old) sharing a family room which was kept beautifully clean throughout our 7 night stay. We stayed on a breakfast and evening meal basis and the food was outstanding, so much choice and so well prepared. The staff in the restaurant were helpful and always polite, as were all the staff in the hotel. The hotel has two swimming pools, an indoor and outdoor pool, my one and only observation NOT a complaint is that the outdoor pool was very cold.
