Lambarellis in Chesterfield

Went with 2 friends following the take over. Absolutely fantastic food! All 3 of us had different starters & mains and we were all very impressed by the presentation, quality & taste of all the dishes. We’ll definitely be back and cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Thank you!

The restaurant's recently changed ownership and is now La Dolce Vita Lambarelli. This was our first visit since the ownership changed. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed the dishes we chose and are looking forward to our next visit. Lots of choice on the menu and the staff were excellent - warm and friendly and very efficient despite being very busy. Thanks to Beth, Emily and Giulia, and well done, John, on your very first shift.

Fantastic little restaurant, had not bed. For a number of years but was really busy, food was excellent & staff really lovely. Enjoyed the atmosphere

Had the best Italian last night here. The food was so tasty, absolutely delicious. Two different pizza's & Calzone, along with beautiful starters. Service was superb, beautiful restaurant. It will be a regular , favourite from now on. Thank you Teresa and all of your staff .

We went for Valentine's night. The starters were enormous and great value for money. The food was delicious and the staff were really attentive and friendly.

We really fancied a traditional Italian as this place says they are. We were directed upstairs, it was really cold and smelled of mould and really fusty, when we mention that, they put a potable heater by the side of our table, but they should have heated the place up before guests arrived! we ordered our food, the starter was good but the main was absolutely NOT fresh! There were only 2 in the kitchen, it was frozen food reheated! My husband ordered spicy chips, when they came they were uncooked! We had to send them back, the Calzone was definitely not freshly cooked and had sauce poured over it, my meal was ok but nothing great, very disappointing, this is the 4th time we have tried this place…… do not bother, you can do better at home! There are better Italians out there!

We haven't been in years though would definitely go again and hopefully soon! Lovely ambience, warm and attentive service and 4 four delicious meals. Would highly recommend! Starting with a lovely sharing board of freshly baked focaccia and other breads, delicious selection of olives and olive oils. We had lasagne, salmon pasta and spaghetti carbonara which were all excellent!

Had an issue with a takeaway we ordered. We called to discuss it and we were told they would replace the order and deliver it. We were tempted to simply ask for a refund but decided to let them rectify the issue as they had affected to do. The food kindly delivered to our home was amazing. The customer service cannot be argued with as they went out of their way to ensure we were satisfied. Perfect customer service as we will now try again. If I had received the amazing order first time it would have been 5* unequivocally!

Out with my daughter, and Lambarelli's is ALWAYS the first place/only place that comes to mind! Wonderful service from the lovely staff, nothing is ever too much trouble. The food is always perfect, fresh and served with a smile, and there's never a mad rush to clear your out as soon as you've finished, unlike a lot of places. Wether it's breakfast, dinner or/and dessert, Lambarelli's is the place to go! I'd better mention the take-away items as well, the sauces, the pastas, the chocolates, and if you are just passing and fancy a snack, what about a slice of hot pizza, home-made soup or cake? Perfect!

Called in for a coffee and ended up having the Italian Breakfast, outstanding, crispy bacon, fabulous sausage and mushrooms and the creamiest of scrambled eggs. My wife had a breakfast crepe with fruit and yoghurt. Love this place.

I have been here numerous times with friends, ranging from two to a large group of 16. We have never been disappointed with the food, wine, service, or atmosphere. Teresa and her team always make us feel welcome. I love the outside terrace upstairs when the weather is nice; I certainly don't feel like I am in Chesterfield, more like somewhere in Puglia! This is one of my most favourite places in Chesterfield and I highly recommend you try it (despite what some one-star 'grumpy gills; & his mate may have posted). A review certainly underserved and unwarranted. So glad Teresa has banned them, they don't deserve her authentic Italian cuisine.

I visited with my wife and we really enjoyed our meals. The food was excellent and good value. We look forward to returning again soon.

Everytime I visit the food just gets better and better. All own made food, which is amazing, the sauces, which Teresa is famous for and taste fantastic. The Italian coffee, which is the best in the area. Staff are so friendly and helpfully. Highly recommend, for a breakfast, lunch, coffee or an evening out

Went on recommendation of a friend and oh my - beautiful food with fantastic service. We both had different Brochette which were excellent, We both had different mains together with a garlic bread from the starters. Finally a traditional tiramisu! The whole experience was fantastic. The staff are a credit to the business. We will defo be back.

Lovely food and very friendly and welcoming staff. We called for lunch in January the bruschetta was authentic and the soup piping hot and homemade. The main course pasta dishes were equally as good. We then called again early evening in February and we were not disappointed. Once again the bruschetta were excellent and both the pasta dishes and pizza were clearly authentic, homemade and delicious. We will definitely be back

Thought we would try a breakfast out so decided to visit Teresa Lambrelli’s, as we had called in the week before for a coffee and saw the menu. We had Eggs Benedict and a large cappuccino. Absolutely delicious!! Sat in a relaxed atmosphere with soft music in the background. Plus the benefit of a deli right next door. Really worth a visit and the restaurant upstairs is a must.

We waited an hour for a starter which was as simple as a shared platter, a salad and a bruschetta. Once we asked where it was politely, a random couple asked us to take it outside, then we were asked to leave! The lunatic of the owner sided with them to the point where she was blatantly insulting us; telling us to go to the nearby McDonalds! It was a preposterous experience and you would be better going Nonna’s nearby. Completely unprofessional staff and wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole. Manhandled my mother.

Where do I start... Ok we booked a table for 4 late in the day on a Saturday..happy to eat downstairs..arrived and was presented a table..drinks orders were taken..jug of water,glasses and a bottle of P.Grigio was eventually brought. Ordered platter for 2 and a couple of Bruschettas.Pizza and 3 Pasta dishes for main. Was visited by a kitchen member who questioned what we had ordered who explained that it was very busy and it shouldnt't be too long. We were offered a free drink..we said..no thank you but we were needing to speed things on a bit as we needed to get back for a pet that was on meds etc...Owner came through with a basket of dough stripps etc. Waited another while and we explained to the waiter that we were concerned about how long it was taking for the starters to arrive(1hr+) . For some reason a guy on the next able started piping up about" what was our problem" Owner turned up and mentioned that if we wanted fast food we should have gone to Macdonald's opposite.. Things escalated..Guy in next table started becoming abusive for some reason..The owner started getting on her high horse and asked us to leave,which we did...In my opinion the owner was bang out of order and was throwing abuse..The owner in fact grabbed my wife's arm, the waiter threatened to call the police.I stood back in amazement at what had become of a simple situation where we had questioned how long the starters had taken to arrive. A night well and truly spoilt by the actions of the owner and a customer who had no place to butt in when all we were questioning was the service we were receivin..been to Lambarellis before on a few occasions and has been acceptable food albeit over priced for the quality you receive..

Proper Italian food. Having been to every other Italian in Chesterfield, this place wins hands down. Great service too .

Ashamed to say this restaurant is less than a five minute walk from where we live and it's the first time we have been in, but won't be the last. The place is very cosy but with plenty of room too also has an outside area which will be a bonus in the warmer evenings. Staff really great, service was just right with plenty of time inbetween courses a relaxed atmosphere Food fresh and plentiful authentic too plus a asuperb house red wine. A great birthday night out for my wife, Karen.

Terrible service! Waited 25 mins, we had to ask for a drinks menu, then waiter forgot to bring them. Food arrived after nearly an hr’s wait, they had forgotten our food order as well! Food ok but not worth an hr’s wait. Final straw waiter tried to tried to charge for drinks we hadn’t had! Insult to injury. Won’t be recommending or returning!

Had a coffee here with my friend and loved the atmosphere etc. so much, we booked for lunch the following week. WE were delighted with the service, my friend has a delicious freshly made pizza, which she said the base was the best she had ever had. I was looked after with great care, as I have certain allergies. My tuna salad was delicious and fresh. We shared a naughty bowl of lovely hot chips! Certainly could not find fault with the food, ambience, staff and prices. We are returning for a weekly lunch. I certainly think their rating should be much higher.

Me and my partner visited lambarellis last month. And what a wonderful little gem it is!! Firstly please make a reservation! The seating area is tiny!! We were welcomed warmly, and sat down quickly, service was fantastic, and friendly, we also noticed how the restaurant is very family friendly but also good for couples.. The restaurant also has a romantic vibe to it, and almost feels as though your abroad!

Not been to Lambarelli's for a few years, but called on Saturday to give it another try. The pizzas were very good, better than other local outlets and definitely better than the likes of Pizza Hut, Domino's etc. The shop is very well run and choice of toppings is excellent. Price, too, is very good and service excellent. Will definitely be going back.

We called in for an early lunch and decided to order from the breakfast menu which is served until 12. Our order was taken by a friendly lady. Our table was by the window and very comfortable in fact the restaurant looked very comfortable and welcoming. Our food was delicious and the coffee just how we like it. It won’t be too long before we visit again.

Had a late afternoon/early Saturday evening meal with friends. We were initially greeted by a locked door but the staff member let us in and we were seated quickly.

Called in two Fridays ago for a take away and ordered 2 pizzas, Italian chips and garlic bread. We have previously eaten here and it was delicious, however on this occasion the food was inedible. The garlic bread was undercooked and doughy. It was like eating raw dough. The pizza weren’t much better but at least I could eat the topping. They were very busy when we went in to book. That should not in any way be an excuse for undercooked food. I wouldn’t go back here on principle that we booked food, paid hard earned money to then not be able to eat the it.

we went here for a pre cinema meal. To be honest we were really surpised when we turned up to find out that they only do Pizzas for takeaway and not from the restaurant. Im sure they have their reasons but when you are geared up for an authentic Italian pizza its a bit of a let down.

The service was very friendly and the staff were happy to give me details of options for eating, even tough this was takeout. I initially thought the pizza price was on the higher side, but then I ate it. Very obviously well prepared and with fresh vegetables. Ive eaten a lot worse for the price. Whilst waiting we chatted about ghee travelling one of the ladies had done and the music & live bands they had seen and enjoyed. I didn't have the salad bar, but a lady came in who did and the food was fresh that morning. There was also a cold or heated pasta option with the salad. All starting at £2 per serving. Once my food was ready, staff were happy for me to sit on one of the bar stools and eat in. Would definitely recommend and will definitely go back.

Visited Saturday evening, only one other couple in the restaurant, by the time we left at 8pm there were another 6 people, so pretty quiet for a Saturday night. Never eaten here before, normally our Italian of choice is Lombardi's but thought it worth trying something different.

Visited tonight for a takeaway and we were warmly welcomed,we had the lasagne which was amazing and the Italian chips are to die for....this is well worth a visit as the food is amazing value and quality,the portions are good as well

We all have differing tastes this is my friends favorite restaurant, I thought just above average had to Waite quite a while for our food , understand to a certain degree being Christmas period but fel a little longer than would have hoped .

Rushed here on my lunch break craving hot pasta and well worth it. Hot tomato pasta with plentiful of chicken and fresh baked garlic bread, so delicious and the staff are lovely too, definately worth visiting more than once!

Called in for the first time with my daughter and grandson for breakfast, and didn't know what to expect. We were really impressed. The service is brilliant, the food absolutely delicious, the atmosphere is spot on. It's spotlessly clean and I will definitely be going back. We had 3 full breakfasts, 3 rounds of toast, 2 orange juice and 1 tea which came to £21-60.

Traditional Italian deli which uses fresh ingredients producing, for me, the best pizzas in town. Been coming here for take aways regularly for over 25 years now and they just as good and consistent now as they were then. Also very reasonably priced. Would recommend pre-ordering.

As mentioned before, this restaurant now,only opens for pre-planned groups or their own special events. Our church had an evening there before Easter and the whole experience was fantastic. The choice of food was very good and great value for money. The service was excellent.

What can I say,i have been visiting this restaurant since 1986,and it is still the best in chesterfield,sadly the restaurant only opens on special occasions,but the café is open wed-sat,this visit was for valetines day,as always the food was superb the staff were great lovely atmosphere,really cannot fault at all,really look forward to our next visit,theres a few places in my other reviews that should visit here and learn how to improve their resturants.

A fabulous Italian meal in a friendly environment. Professional but keeps that family feel.Easily found at the bottom of Chatsworth Road, opposite Matalans (if you need a landmark).The evening meals are on specific dates but Cafe Aroma is open Wednesday to Saturday lunchtimes. You won't be disappointed.It is owned by Teresa Lambrelli who makes her own sauces which are bottled and sold through establishments such as Chatsworth Farm Shop amongst others.

I often call in at Lambrellis at lunchtime to take advantage of their salad bar. Good value and all fresh and tasty. We had a pizza takeaway too which was pretty good as well and served with a smile.

This is a good Italian restaurant because it is run by Italian people. The food is lovely and the staff are very nice and friendly.Park opposite at Matallan and nip across the road for a wonderful Italian experience.

This is one of our favourite little cafés to visit for lunch.Food is always prepared fresh, the quality is good and the staff are very friendly.Would strongly recommend.

Ordered two pizzas and a portion of 'Italian oven baked chips' to be collected a short while later. Upon arriving to collect I was faced with a long queue and three staff - none of whom were speaking to the customers. I did not know who was waiting to collect or who was wanting to order. I could see a pile of pizzas on top of the oven and a chaotic scene. As the queue was worked through I was spoken to by the owner and it became apparent my pizzas had been waiting for a while but there were no chips. I then witnessed staff deep fry a portion before dabbing with an oil mix and putting them in the oven. When challenged the owner stated my chips would three minutes and low and behold 5 minutes later the deep fried chips were produced from the oven and passed off as oven baked. I have to say I was disappointed with what appeared to be blatant lies as clearly the advised 30 waiting time for said oven chips was untrue as they were obviously deep fried and just finished off in the pizza oven. On saying all of that the pizzas were very tasty if not overly hot having been waiting atop the oven for 10 minutes and a little 'well cooked' on one edge. The menu of toppings is a little dated and could do with freshening up to be a bit more contemporary and they're not the cheapest compared to the likes of Pizza Hut or dominoes but are nice. The bases are light and the sauce is tasty but could do with being more 'tomatoey' as it was laden with garlic- which I like but could be a bit too much for those less partial.

The staff here are great and the prices are decent, but for a pizza specialist their pizzas aren't very nice, nor traditional. The texture is perfect, but they are EXTREMELY salty. I'm not sure if it's the dough or the tomato base, but it is too much for me.I've had pizza from hundreds of different places and not a single one has even come close to tasting this salty, noweher near, not even a genuine Italian pizza.Many people love this takeaway, and i'm glad because I really want it to do well, it has been here for years and has plenty of returning loyal customers, but I honestly think it would do far better with a revised recipe. Obviously it is easier said than done as the regulars may not enjoy it as much, then again, they may prefer it, and it would surely invite more regulars with some tweaking to the pizza.Reduce the salt and make the tomato base taste more like tomato and less like garlic and I think they would taste a hundred times better.This is just my opinion but my partner agrees.

My family have been visiting lambarellis for as long as I can remember and it's always been one of our favourites. It's the best place for a pizza in Chesterfield and everyone who works there is lovely. The range of pasta sauces is also great and we use them regularly at home. It's also great for popping into at dinner time for a nice salad or a sandwich. Would definitely recommend

This is an old fashioned Italian trattoria with friendly service and home cooked food which is wonderful!! The pastries too are great and of course the coffee is superb! I have visited twice to meet a friend here and would love to have the opportunity to visit more often!

I all ways like a good fresh homemade gluten free pizza and my dad likes to order pizza on every Saturday it all ways go down well with a beer and a dvd But I can't have a beer I have to have a gluten free beer

Seeing as I work across the road from here I often pop across for dinner. The sandwiches are delicious and have a great range of fillings (even if you want a bizarre combination) the prices aren't bad and the staff seem very friendly and helpful. Also had a pizza from here and are one of the best I've tasted around here.

Sat waiting for Mrs M in Matalan Car Park and noticed Lamberellis across the road.. being of Italian origin thought it might make a nice change on a Saturday lunchtime and gave it a go..nothing more can be said.. like walking into a little piece of italy!we had penne / arrabiata, panini, coffees etc and all EXCELLENT.. panini's are usually dry / under or overcooked. this was the nicest i've had since our recent Italy trip!Mrs M fancied the Arrabiata sauce on her Penne but was afraid it mght have been too spicy so Teresa went out of her way to make it less spicy by adding a little Neopolitan.. the result was perfect!fresh cooked pasta and their own 'in-house' sauce which you can also buy off the shelf (which apparently they also sell to other retailers... Mrs M makes her own so no sale there!) along a range of authentic Italian Produce including Sweets (Mrs M was straight in there!)Apparently they are also doing 'Pasta & Prosecco' Evenings ...friendly, genuine people (got chatting to Mr L about Italy, coming over to the UK etc)Mrs M thought they had got the bill wrong.. now thats what you call value for money!I'm sure Mrs M will need to get back to Matalan for a footwear bargain anytime soon.... so we'll definitely be back for more!Grazie per la pranzo ultimo!

Love the pizza here! It is the best pizza in chesterfield. However on my last few visits, I have been really disappointed with the chips. On two occasions I ordered Italian chips, on both occasions they were undercooked, this time I ordered french fries and on arrival saw them pouring a pack of frozen chunky chips from the supermarket into the fryer, and yet again they were undercooked. Wasn't happy to be fair. Think I will just stick to pizza next time.

Ordered some food to takeaway, thought it might have come straight from the restaurant kitchen. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them take a plastic tub from the fridge and put it in the microwave. If I wanted a microwave meal, I would have got one from the supermarket, which may have actually tasted better than this. Needless to say, most of it went in the bin. It has certainly put me off booking a table and eating in.

I love this little restaurant .It is a bit of Italy in town.I left it to them to feed me some Italian foods and I enjoyed it immensely, although I have forgotten already what I ate as I am not good at languages and its the taste that matters in the end anyway.The owners were very warm and friendly and I hope people go and try it out as good family owned restaurants are few and far between.

A great range of Italian foods to take away. Their pizzas are gorgeous and I love their fresh pasta salads that you choose from a variety to fill a box.

Excellent food, really authentic feel and fantastic service, this pizzeria is unlike any other i have ever been to. Not the cheapest but you pay for quality.

Lamberellis has been a firm favourite with our famaily for several several years. They are simply the best most authentic pizzas I have ever had (which is quite a statement!!) One of my personal favourites is Dela Nona which is so simple but absolutley divine! In the nearly 20 years of visiting here we have yet to have a bad takeaway or meal. Lush.

We have been eating Lambarellis pizzas for almost 30 years; we still rate all other pizzas by "almost as good as/not as good as Lambarellis" And they are very reasonably priced.

we went on a Wednesday night, there wasn't much atmosphere as most tables were empty however the fodd was good and reasonably priced

The shop and restaurant are owned by an Italian Family and it is being kept in the family, so the food is authentic. I was married to an Italian for over 20 years, and after having many an Italian meal, I can honestly say their food is wonderful and genuine. The atmosphere was also lovely and staff very good, they even had a guitarist playing romantic music, I don't know if they still have that but they should, It was great.

Having just moved near here and having no cooker at present .... was an excellent choice for pasta or pizza really great seection and would recommend, certainly if you have no cooker !!

My two goddaughters really like it here - they were then aged eight and ten - and to be fair we have had some tasty (almost) Italian food that was good value for money served with a smile. Not fine dinning, not perfect service but really enjoyable. On the last two occasions we ate at Lamberellis the food was nothing special, the head waiter could barely be bothered to serve us and we waited ages. No thanks.

Not bad, we ordered a pizza and 2 different pastas, not as nice as I remembered when we had a meal in the restaurant a few years ago.

I had had this restaurant recommended but I was disappointed. The atmosphere is a bit cold (in both senses on our visit) and shabby and the food was very ordinary.

The Restaurant staff are attentive yet not intrusive and the selection of Wine to accompany your meal is varied and has great value for money. Should you choose to visit based on this review I would recommend the Steak or Calzone! This Restaurant lead by its chef has a vision to create an authentic Italian cuisine and atmosphere. I would recommend this Restaurant to anyone who lives or is visiting Chesterfield as part of a group or couple.

This restaurant is a favourite of mine! I look forward to going again and again. The food is always gorgeous and the service is friendly and prompt. You get very generous portions which you will not want to waste!They also do a £6 menu on a Tuesday on pasta and pizzas - I love this as my favourite dish is on there which is chicken con pollo!

We visited this Restaurant as a group of six after telephone booking.Drinks were bought in the downstairs bar while we waited for a minute or two for everyone to arrive.The upstairs Restaurant is larger than expected and holds around 40 - 50 people.The decor is similar to what I have experienced in Italy, no mirror walls to exagerate the size of room or flambouyant mock Italian artefacts as others do, just a homely look to the Restaurant and welcoming Staff.Each course ordered was expertly taken with minimal fuss.I really can't remember what everyone else had but my starter 'Fegato di Pollo' of Chicken liver was absolutely superb.The main course of Calzoni Lunghi was just as good with the plate brimming over, unlike some other Italian restaurants, with an extremely tasty meal.I was too full for anything off the dessert menu but some of our group tucked in to good portions and helpings of Ice Cream, puddings and fruit dishes.Coffee followed.The bill came to around £30 each which we considered great value as it included soft and alcoholic drinks that had been served throughout the meal.The ambience was good and the Staff attentive and efficient.We were not rushed at any time and were the last to leave.There is ample free parking directly outside or in the Retail Park opposite.I would recommend diners to visit this Restaurant to taste good food, great atmosphere, a reasonable price and a genuine Italian experience.Please note - the Restaurant review page names this establishment as 'Lamberelli's but it is actually, see Photo, called LAMBARELLI'S

what a great night was had by all, atmosphere was warm , the food was fantastic and plenty on your plate, allthough i picked up the tab for 6 colleagues the bill was reasonable too, excellent house red too, best restaurant in towntry the prawns , or antipasto for starter 10/10pizza + salads also 10/10
