Lalezar BBQ Meze Bar Restaurant in Doncaster

We visited this establishment on NYE and we did nit have a reservation so we were pleasantly surprised to be seated within 10 minutes which was great as they were very busy. We had menu’s instantly and when we ordered the drinks arrived very fast however unfortunately it seemed as if our main order for food was forgotten as it took over an hour to arrive at the table. The food was lovely as well as the staff however the very long delay certainly lowered the score as we had somewhere to be later in the evening and we did not anticipate waiting that long for our food. We did not have enough time to enjoy the food because of this and we rushed through it however they were apologetic and got the boxes and the bill to us very quickly. Only food criticism was that there was not extra sauces brought to the table or offered. Would definitely visit again however do not make plans for after. It seemed they were prioritising on takeaway/collection orders as apposed to restaurant orders. Many thanks

A real Turkish experience. The smell of barbecue already wafts through the street. Food from Turkey. After our holidays in Payallar, where we visited local pubs for locals, we were looking for a culinary substitute for Turkey and we found it here (also at a reasonable price😅). The food is delicious (it's hard to find well-prepared lamb, but it's delicious here), both the starters and the main course. The portions are not small (although according to a regular who was with us at the feast, the portions have decreased over the years, well, inflation, as you can see, affects everyone), the place is pleasant, the staff constantly looks after the tables, the drinks are ok, baklava and rose lokum (Turkish delight) at the highest level until they melted in your mouth. I have reservations about the toilet, the plumbing needs to be replaced because the smell is unpleasant. For the price of this experience, I would suggest investing in a place. We also don't live in America to add a service fee in advance, especially for a three-person table (we would have given a higher tip of our own free will, but being forced to do so would only leave a bad taste).

Honestly stay away and make sure you take extra money as the running a restaurant with 10% added fee extra on your bill which they call service charge. Food is not original if you want food like that plz avoid try noorooz in Sheffield you will save half your money and better quality They running a restaurant but not a missionary restaurant with all added fees

We came here as a party of 13 on Saturday, (28th September) to celebrate my mums 70th birthday and it was fantastic. The food is incredible (and there’s plenty of it) and the service was brilliant. Special mention has to go Charlie, we absolutely loved him, he made the whole thing even more special (and fun). Cannot recommend this place enough, especially for bigger parties as the staff are so accommodating.

We had a great experience at this venue today on a work team day out. The ambience and vibe were excellent, and the staff were very friendly, skilled, and accommodating. They offer a wide range of food choices from starters, both hot and cold to mains and groups sharing platters. We had a few mistakes with our drinks, but they were corrected in a timely fashion. I had the Lamb Shiah, the large one, and it was well presented and very flavourful. All my colleagues were happy with their food, and the portion sizes were excellent. I would happily recommend this establishment to family and friends and also look to return in the future. Our waiter Edcar was very jovial, friendly, and polite. We were treated to a high standard. You don't always find nor expect these days. 10/10 would recommend and go again.

Been coming to this place for years came tonight to bring my mum and dad for there anniversary booked in over a week ago and pretty disappointed service was terrible food was good as always but all our food come out at different times. We waited 15 minutes and no one came to take drink order so we had to go to the bar ourselves. We will definitely be coming back but you need to make more of an effort with the service as it’s not what it normally is.

Yo, so I had some of the best bread and kebabs in Doncaster the other day. And the prawn curry appetizer was bomb!

Revisited this restaurant which we use from time to time as a venue for a friends reunion. Always something good on the menu to choose from. I chose the spicy chicken...not overly hot, just nicely spiced, so I could enjoy the taste. Ercan and his staff looked after us well.

Excellent service and quality. We have been here as a family group of 4/8 persons at a time and have always had an excellent experience. Really friendly staff, very helpful in every aspect. Recipe tweeks if required and food is always of big portion sizes , you will also be provided a portion container/s, to take your remaining food home with you. 🤔🤫👌 I / we would definitely recommend this place for Turkish cuisine and will definitely be going back. P.s Park in the carpark directly behind the restaurant as the n.c.p, carpark directly over the road is over priced and a frequented place for undesirables to be present . I recently had a fantastic experience at a charming Turkish restaurant. The restaurant's interior was beautifully decorated, and the music created a lovely ambience. Our waiter, Sultan, provided exceptional and courteous service throughout our meal. For our dining experience, we decided to go with the Special 2 option, which was priced at £95 for the four of us. The meal started with the meze, which was delightful. However, it was served with a small amount of bread, which was the only downside. The main course that followed was also very delicious, although the lamb chops were more like ribs in terms of portion size. Nevertheless, this didn't detract from our overall enjoyment of the meal. When the bill arrived, we found that the total came to £116, including the service charge. I thought this was a fairly reasonable price for a sit-down meal considering the quality of the food and the service we received. If you're in search of an authentic Turkish dining experience, this restaurant is worth considering.

I recently had a meal for my birthday at Lalezar BBQ Meze Restaurant & Bar with my brother and his girlfriend, and it was an exceptional experience! From the moment we walked in, the cleanliness and well-presented ambiance of the restaurant impressed us. The waiting staff were very polite and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant atmosphere. I ordered the chicken shish, which was absolutely delightful. It came with rice and some bread, all of which were very flavourful and perfectly cooked. The attention to detail in both the food and service made the meal delightful. I highly recommend Lalezar BBQ Meze Restaurant & Bar for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. Five stars all the way!

Had a wonderful experience here. The service was rop tier and very timely. Sultan ensured we had everything we wanted/needed before we even had to ask. The food was exceptional and the portion sizes were more than enough. Would definitely recommend and i will be returning again.

We’ve been here a few times the food is always great, the service is quick and the restaurant is well presented. Sultan helped us with recommendations from the menu - we had a mix of lamb dishes which were both really tasty and great portions. Really reasonable prices too

We had a very good meal at Lalezar. Really positive and friendly environment. Sultan welcomed us to the restaurant and was knowledgeable and attentive. Helped me to choose my meal for the night. Went for a works night out and a birthday meal. Had the Lalezar special mix, food was fantastic, generous portions and full of flavour, great atmosphere, Sultan the waiter was very attentive and great entertainment. Was surprised with a free birthday cake and a song by the owner.

Food was very tasty and plentiful, large portions. Dishes were a bit pricey but in hindsight could have probably shared a starter and a main which with the accompaniments would have been ample. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The one thing that bothered me was the service charge. I don’t like being forced into rewarding someone’s good service. If I receive good service I will tip but it doesn’t sit well with me being automatically included.

Watch out Doncaster, the kings of kebabs are officially back! *** Feb 2024 Update *** Been a while since my last visit and thought I would pop in for a bite to eat (Midweek, early evening). Arrived without prior booking and got seated straight away. N.B I would not normally advise this on a weekend for a dinner in the evening. Please book first as it gets very busy. Whilst the portions seem a little smaller (only by a smidge), their food is back to its former glory. Smoky pittas were just as they should be. Restaurant was modern and up to date, staff attentive and ultimately the food was back to how it should be! Smoky, lamby Mediterranean goodness. I won't bore you with the details but I highly recommend the mixed grill. A bit pricey, but you get to take home what you don't eat as a second meal! I am also pretty sure the prices have gone up, but haven't they everywhere. Great to see this wonderful restaurant return to the place it used to be. Well done 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Update: Wow what a fall from grace. once I would have crawled over hot coal (no pun intended) to get a table here. I don't know if it has changed ownership, but the food is no longer excellent but mediocre at best. The smoked meat dripped bread has gone. The kebabs taste bland and they have removed the chicken wings from the mixed grill. Plus to boot, whilst this was not what I would call a fine dining experience, you could say it was intimate and enjoyable experience. Now it would appear every Karen or Ken has now discovered this place and thinks that raising their voice over the next table is the way to be heard better, resulting in what can only be best described as being at a concert level volume. I cannot blame the restaurant for this directly, however if they limited it to parties of 8 max per table, it would go some way to combat this. No one wants to hear a drunk karen cackling at full volume or what Ken does for a second job! If you happen to be visiting this place, make it very clear to the person seating you that you would like to be seated downstairs or you will end up regreting it. You have been warned! Old review (by contrast): I have to pilgrimage to this restaurant once a month to get my grill on. Interior could be better (however this is being fixed as they are closing for a few months soon for a expansion and remodel), but is functional. Please note: It can get very busy on weekends so book a table first. You could chance your luck but why bother. My recommendation is the mixed grill with a large helping of their smoked pitta breads. I still have no idea how they do it but either way you will love the food.

Been coming to Lalezar for years. In my eyes it is the best restaurant in Doncaster. The food is amazing, staff friendly, top quality service. I had not visited for a few months due to being busy but decided to call in to buy one to take home. Just as amazing as in the restaurant. Thankyou

Very disappointed came here years ago when it was a small place taking Groupon and the food was fabulous. It seems expansion has reduced the quantity. Don't go on a race day.

I live in Italy where high quality food is the norm, and this place is on a par with that. Highly recommended. Excellent to see food of this quality in Doncaster.
