This “mozzarella and tomato” toasty and drink was almost a tenner. Had to wait 20 minutes and it arrived in a paper bag. Rude staff, massively overpriced and the food was disgusting. It went straight in the bin. You’re better off walking 10 mins into Muswell Hill - plenty of decent food spots there.

Beautiful location overpriced food for your service and comfort. Food was delivered to the outside seating area in paper bags, no plates. Tuna melt £10!

Very pleasant location next to the boating lake with outside and inside seating. Coffee quality and size of cups not great but the pastries fresh and good quality. Service efficient. Enjoyed the view which made up for in shortcomings in the fare. You can park for free nearby when there are not exhibitions on, although you are invited to give a voluntary £3 donation on entry. Reasonably priced.

The person who served me was so rude and impolite. I asked for the vegan wrap (it was the only vegan wrap on the menu) and received a very surly reply of “well what one is that, cos I don’t know?” I said that it was the one that has vegan written beside it on the menu. His next reply was “ what’s in it then, cos I don’t know what that means”. I asked him then why he was being so rude and he replied “I’m not being rude and there’s a half hour wait for the food” I said that was ok but when he then said “so what do you want” I gave up and told him not to bother. I left with nothing in the end. His customer service was non existent.

This was a really poor experience. The coffee was so weak it was like dishwater and I had to pay for another just about drinkable one again rather than the unsatisfactory one being replaced. The staff were at best indifferent, more accurately rude.

My friend ordered a gluten free sandwich as shown on the receipt. Was then given a normal sandwich, but told by brain dead server after eating half of it that they made an error and it isn't actually gluten free. They didn't offer to refund or replace until we mentioned it. Then the server said, is it okay if you eat the gluten sandwich..to which we said absolutely no, why on earth would we order gluten free if did not have gluten allergy. Demanded refund and replacement. Then the server gave us a gluten free sandwich, and said "hope this tastes better now". We said "It's nothing to do with taste but to do with severe gluten allergy". He just laughed and smirked. We didn't eat the food as didn't trust the staff as the cafe DOES NOT take allergies seriously nor are they educated in basic allergy requirements which nearly had severe consequences. My friend now suffering with insufferable bowel and stomach pain due to eating half of this sandwich. Before this he also handed both of us one sandwich with meat and one without and didn't know which was which and said, just open them.

Whoever runs Alexandra palace park needs to take the licence off this rip off joint and allow a decent cafe with decent food, polite staff and real value for money to take over. For 24 pounds expect a reheated potato with awful salad, 3 cheese toasties and a drink, prepared with the same attention to detail you might get in a prison cafeteria. Massive massive shame, especially with the new go ape behind.

Ordered a tuna melt panini (£6.00 something) with a salad as an optional extra for £2.00. The panini was ok but the salad consisted of a few sorry looking strips of lettuce, one slice of tomato and one slice of cucumber with a drizzle of dressing.... very disappointing for the price. Don't think I'll be returning!

We were there on a slightly overcast Saturday but the experience was great. It was a nice place to enjoy coffee and a sandwich and watch people having fun on the boating lake

This cafe failed spectacularly to get even the most simple food right. Cold beans on toast and dried out scrambled egg with a greeny-grey hue that I wouldn't even feed to a dog. Absolutely revolting. Surely it can't be that hard to do better? Very disappointing.

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”. A very apt proverb as it seems as though the Lakeside Cafe is yet to take this first step. I visited here today with my fiancee and 6 year old son and all I can say is that we will not be going back…….ever. First the positives, which are, a good location (right next to the boating lake) and the fact they served us drinks before the official opening time of 1000 and the veggie breakfast was both tasty and filling. That was it, and even those points are not enough to persuade us to make a return visit. I will explain why. The service was extremely slow and it was a bit like a 3 legged horse trying to complete in the Grand National (it got there in the end). To be fair, the 2 gentleman who served us were polite and courteous but I feel the female had either gotten out of the wrong side of bed or she hated working in the service industry. Firstly there was no smile but what compounded the issue was when she asked the next door Pedalo kiosk for some change and they didn’t have any so she walked off in a huff and swore. This was in front of customers and also my 6 year old son who then asked what that word meant! I then went into the cafe for duck and goose food and queued for 10 minutes only to be told they didn’t have any. I wonder why advertise it if they didn't have any. They also ran out of ham and at 1045 (45 minutes after opening) they said they were not accepting anymore food orders because the kitchen would “get stressed out”. Seriously? I did have a veggie sausage panini which cost over £4. Not worth it as the panini was over toasted and it was just 2 veggie sausages. My fiancee was happy with her veggie breakfast with olives, halloumi, bread, veggie sausage, peppers and houmous. With a tea and juice, the cost was £15+. Not worth the money at all. Next door there is a pedal kiosk which I believe is part of the cafe as you buy tickets in there. If you want to use the pedals then you will need to take out a mortgage as adults pay £5.95 and children are £4.95! Absolutely disgusting price in my opinion. I don’t know how long you get on the pedalo but for that price you would want an hour but then I’d be bored after 10 minutes as the lake in which you can pedal isn’t really that big. The cafe doesn’t have toilets but there are public ones next door which were dirty and unwelcoming.

Absolutely lovely venue but a member of staff was most unhelpful. I was there with my dog they were Extremely unfriendly. I have always lived in Muswell Hill and have only just being able to have a dog. I can understand if they did not want dogs inside but I offered to give money so I could have a coffee and lunch to be brought outside but the young lady did not want to know at all. Even when I asked for a bottle of water. What a shame in this competitive world that they did not want my money. I am always extremely polite and courteous but found myself feeling an outcast and humiliated because I had a dog. Will not be going there again. Recommend any people with dogs not to bother going. Decided to go to the Grove instead where they were most welcoming and lovely people.

It is a lovely location by the boating lake with seats outside. Food is ok but not great and being a coffee lover I'm really disappointed to pay for coffee which isn't made properly. It is so easy these days to get set up better - they even have a good machine. Barista training please!!

This pleasant cafe overlooks the boating lake in Alexandra Park, behind the Palace building. Easiest access is via the car park at the eastern end of the Palace, past the skating rink. The cafe is frequented by mothers with pre-school children, and retired locals enjoying a relaxing view passed the lake to the Palace building. This cafe is great for teas and coffees, cold drinks and ice creams. It also does breakfasts and lunches. We had a tasty lunch of large baked potato with tuna, cheese and salad and a toasted panini with sausage, halloumi and salad. With drinks, the total bill was £18 for the two of us. Service was slow as there was only one girl at the counter, taking orders and producing the coffees and smoothies. However, no customers were in a hurry. The cafe has three areas, an small inside areas by the counter, a glazed sun lounge area and tables outside beside the lake. The cafe also sells food for feeding the waterfowl and tickets for the pedalos which are enjoyed by children and adults alike (Pedalo designs include dinosaurs, swans and cars!). This cafe is a pleasant place to relax on a sunny day. It is friendly to children, pushchairs and wheelchairs.

The whole menu is greasy, high sugar fake meat options. No salad, veg or fruit here. If you diabetic or sugar sensitive avoid! I follow a WFPD and hate the taste of meat. I had a side of beans that were very average, they could have served it on a lettuce leaf or something to make it healthier.

They do a high volume of business due to the many travelers, so it is somewhat chaotic. But the food is consistently good.

I love getting my coffee from this place when the Origin Coffee is overcrowded. It is quite good for some caffeine grab.
