Este lugar es una joya escondida y una visita obligada! El ambiente es tan bonito y acogedor, perfecto para una noche de citas, aunque se podía ir fácilmente en un grupo más grande también, el propietario también era muy acogedor y amable! Tuvimos entrantes, platos principales y laterales, Halloumi bruschetta y mi pareja tenían paté de hígado de pollo, seguido por el pimentón de setas y los rollos de repollo rellenos especiales, literalmente todo fue fenomenal, tan sabroso! No puedo esperar para volver de nuevo, si estás en South Woodford o alrededores no dudes en reservar, no te decepcionará!

¡Maravilloso! Comida fabulosa, sana (ish! ) , buenas porciones y deliciosa. Comida tradicional húngara en un entorno encantador y un servicio súper amable. El gerente hizo todo lo posible para que nuestra visita fuera memorable. Pedimos cerveza sin alcohol y él mordió y compró un poco! Las porciones eran correctas y no demasiado caras. Una verdadera delicia y sin duda volverá (ya que elegir lo que queríamos del menú era muy difícil! )

Descubrí este lugar hace un rato y decidí visitar para el almuerzo del domingo, he estado en Budapest numerosas veces en los últimos años y estaba deseando algo de comida real. La bienvenida fue muy cálida y amable y mi pedido fue tomado en cuestión de minutos. El menú es muy extenso y el camarero dedicó tiempo a explicar las diferentes opciones disponibles. Empecé con el Goulash y fue como estar de vuelta en Budapest. la red y el desierto eran igualmente grandes. Es un restaurante pequeño y acogedor bien iluminado y decorado con recuerdos húngaros y el gerente no puede hacer lo suficiente por usted, realmente disfruté de la tarde. No puedo esperar a volver.

Such an amazing hidden gem in East London! I am from Hungary and I love Hungarian food and let me tell you that their food tastes exactly as it should, proper traditional food. I’ve been here at least 5 times and there was never a problem. Definitely recommend!

I took my wife here here for lunch last weekend and it was a fantastic experience. The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. If you haven't had Hungarian food before, then I highly recommend that tou try it out.

After walking past this restaurant several times, we popped in today. We just wanted a snack so we only had the Hungarian soup accompanied by mineral water and then followed by coffee. The soup was absolutely delicious and served with really tasty bread. Excellent service and a really lovely little restaurant. We will definitely be back.

I took my Hungarian wife as a surprise. The couple (brother and sister) who run it were very welcoming and friendly. The food was fantastic. We are definatley going back.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted like friends. Michael was very accommodating, friendly and clearly wanted us to have a lovely evening, which we did. The food is delicious and excellent value. It’s a little gem of a restaurant snd well worth a visit. We’ll be going again, for sure.

Had a delicious lunch of authentic Hungarian dishes here today. All our dishes were excellent, full of Hungarian flavour, and portions were very generous! The staff/owners are super friendly, kind and attentive. It’s a very cosy cute cafe/restaurant. I recommend booking. Looking forward to visiting again soon! Jó étvágyat!

I regularly walk past this place and on Friday my wife and I finally visited and we were both really impressed; with the warm welcome we received, with the place, the service, the friendliness of the Michael (the owner) and his sister Bernadette , and, most importantly, with the food. The restaurant is warm and cosy with a lovely ambience. Michael explained the various dishes, how they were prepared and presented etc. The food when it arrived was really tasty and full of flavour. We will definitely be back now that we have found this hidden gem. It is an intimate little place and we were lucky to get in early before the reserved tables were take so I'd advise booking in advance if you can.

I wish to say thank you for lunch today. Our meal was delicious and really tasty hungarian food. The Goulash highly recommended. It was tasty and spicy. For main course i ate chicken escalop with mashed potatoes. Dessert tipical hungarian sweet stuffed pancake. At any time when i have free time i visit this place. Nice food, cheap prices and friendly staff waiting for everyone. You can booking a table but not necessary. Really Recommended ! Chris

We went for dinner. It's only a small place but great ambiance and a really personal service. The Goulash was really tasty and the Bruscheta excellent. For mains some of us had the Hungarian dishes Gypsy King and Chicken Escalope which both came with plenty. The burgers were also great. We stayed on the Hungarian for Dessert with an amazing Chestnut trifle. The BYOB wine is great too. Great value for money too. Looking forward to our next visit.

Having heard some good reviews, we visited here for a quiet birthday lunch. Fully met our expectations, I had the fish and chips (a real treat to have it without batter) and my other had what looked like a lot of meat (sorry have forgot the name). Servings generous so it was a struggle to share a brownie, but we managed. Very friendly people running the cafe and made for a very pleasant experience; I really feel they care for what they are doing.

Can't rate the food high enough !!! I went for the Hungarian experience and ordered the paprikash it was a mushroom and dumpling dish and was absolutely delicious all homemade it looked amazing and tasted it too. The portion size was over generous and I happily accepted the doggy bag that was offered by out lovely server. My partner went for the lakehouse burger and again a massively generous portion and no complaints from him. We will definitely be returning plenty more on the menu we have to try and for the price there's no excuses not to return.

We were passing Sat evening and the lovely smell of cooking swayed us to go in , the restaurant is small and cosy and very clean , the menu looked appetising too , and a few dishes caught my eye , I Opted for the Suzy chicken burger and chips and my other half had a mushroom and dumpling Hungarian dish , the owner was so good at explaining the menu and even had photos so we could get an idea of what we wanted . The food was absolutely amazing and such large portions the chips are like home made such a change from fries . Everyone else’s food looked delicious from pizzas to fish and chips to the meat style kebabs on skewers . The food is such good value for money and we’d go back in a heart beat I can’t believe we never tried this place before , it’s definitely worth a visit they do take away and Uber eats too and it’s a Restaurant that you can bring your own wine too for a small corkage fee . We can’t wait to go back very soon

The welcome by friendly owners and paying particular attention to individual customer's diet and adjusted the food accordingly. Wonderful good with the kind and friendly gestures of the owner is highly valued. Thank you for your great hospitality and recommendations of the special dishes of the menu, all of them were delicious.

Saturday morning, dropped my kid to karate classes and decided to have my breakfast in Lakehouse Tea Room, in 5 min it was served to me a full English Breakfast, a huge plate with everything. I was even asked how I would like eggs(runny or hard) what kind of bread(white or brown). Sausages taste really nice, more like german/polish sausage but all this was complimented with homemade hash browns. Half way I felt already full, but being so delicious couldn't waste and eaten everything. Recomend to everyone with all my heart. P. S. Forgot to tell you most important thing, the price is very reasonable, I would say for quality and quantity you get is cheap. Now I will make a tradition from going every Saturday to have my breakfast to Lakehouse Tea Room.

I ordered a bagel and sat outside with my dog. I was previously told dogs allowed inside - not today😐 He forgot my order, I was the only customer. He then shortchanged me by 50p.

The Lakehouse tearoom is a small run teahouse that opened a little while back. They have delicious home baked cakes, excellent coffee in a clean and kid friendly environment. Definitely going to pop in again when I'm in the area. :)

Lovely little Tearoom/Coffee shop, not sure what the difference is, as they sell tea and coffee :) Just opposite the playing fields/jubilee pond.
