Ladybrook in Stockport

I simply cannot rate the Ladybrook highly enough! We had visited a couple of times previously and as well as really enjoying the food we've been really impressed with the genuinely lovely service and friendlyness of the staff. We had booked for Christmas day lunch but unfortunately my mother was taken into hospital prior to Christmas and was in there for 10 days so we could not make it. When she came out yesterday, I booked to table for today, 1st January. The manager, Scott, especially was so kind and completely replicated Christmas day for us with a lovely Christmas table setting and Christmas meal. It was so lovely for me to recreate that, especially for my mum, but also from myself as I couldn't really celebrate until she was home and well. The meal was absolutely amazing and the staff were so kind and accommodating. It may have been New Year's Day for everybody else but for us it was a very special Christmas Day! Highly recommended . We can't wait to go back!

The food arrived barely tepid, and the meat was undercooked. I was offered a replacement but declined. The service itself was very good. Shame about the standard of the food . Gravy had no substance and just looked like dishwater.

We went to the Ladbrook last night and it was lovely. The food was great (much improved from our previous visit), the service was fab too. Compliments to the kitchen staff and Scott who made our evening a real pleasure.

Visited on 3.10.24 Problem with the app and it took 2 payments, although the staff were very helpful with this. Nacho starter was cold. And my sons fish was overcooked, batter burnt and cod dry. We usually have an amazing experience but today just wasn't to be.

Been for the pensioners lunch today, The Service was Very Very slow, meals are on the small side, 2 hours from start to finish, & the place was near Empty. The place needs A good Deep Clean Never again,

I eat at your about once a month at the Ladybrook I've been twice in the past week as my partner fancied a roast dinner today so we had one today normally your food is really good. But I was really disappointed today as the beef was chewy the vegetables were cold and undercooked and the gravy was a bit thin.Come on Ladybrook you can do better.

The food was poorly presented and of average quality. We had a bit of a wait to get it, but it was a busy day. Sorry we can not recommend the Ladybrook.

Lovely pub,reasonably priced too. Will definitely be going again.Had a charity Reggae day so went down in the afternoon to support them and returned in the evening. They had a great band on(Ruff Trade)and a good atmosphere. Staff were brilliant and the manager even replaced a pint that someone else knocked over,they didn't have to but it was much appreciated.Thanks for a great night!

We love watching football at the Ladybrook. Great atmosphere and very relaxed. Great service. The food is passable but could be improved. The portions are small. We had a roast dinner today, the turkey was tender but the three roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding with stuffing were reheated. Anything with chips comes with a very small portion of chips. A great pub but it should offer better quality food and more generous portions. We booked a table a week in advance expecting this would be in the main areas of the pub but were instead taken to seating with an obstructed view of the screen and from our various visits, the least popular section of the pub which was disappointing.

Amazing pub with a fantastic atmosphere, I was here for a work conversation and the staff were wonderful interacting with us and looking after us, I look forward to returning

Used to go in there when I was younger. I remember it being nice cheap and cheerfull. 2 meals and 2 drinks best part of £50 now. Food was lovely but not a regular to go place anymore 😢

wake Darren, and the team, at The Ladybook, hosted a wake for our family and friends today... around 40 people. The planning beforehand with Pat and Darren, was caring and considerate, helping the family with a screen tribute to the deceased, and looking after the mourners with consideration and respect. The food was plentiful and varied and appreciated by all the guests, which were of varying ages and those who had differing dietary requirements. Service was excellent and all the staff played a part in making a difficult day as smooth as it could have been. Again, Pat was front and centre making sure the wake area was tidy and enjoyable for all. Thank you again to all the team for making a difficult day memorable and special. I would highly recommend this as a venue for people in the area for similar events.

Good old school pub, live sport decent beer.

Very below standard in every way. After waiting 40 minutes after ordering food I asked staff is there an issue with my order. Only to be told Chef gone for break hence delay and would be 10 more minutes. We had drank our drinks so asked for a refund. No one came to communicate the above issues. No free drink offered for excessive wait. No one else was eating. Staff had a not bothered persona. Money was return back - £4.40 which I questioned as we had only had lime and soda, little did I know the initial price. I questioned this £2-20 charge per drink only to be told this is the price. To which I said bring back the golden hind.as I had never recieved that service from there. DANNY knew the importance of customer care. The prices at Ladybrook inconsiderable higher with such poor customer care. I won't be returning. Choose wisely folks avoid at all cost is my advise.

We always enjoy a visit to the Ladybrook when we are in Bramhall. The pub itself is a big, grand building with a lovely atmosphere inside. Their food is reasonably priced for Bramhall, too. They have a good selection of beers on and I've always found the staff to be helpful and attentive (although they have been understaffed every time we've been in). One small criticism from me, however---; I think the pipes for the beer pumps could do with cleaning. Generally, a positive review from us. Oh, and it's a must-visit for any local football fans who like to socialise as they watch the match!

Lovely pub but the food is terrible. Spent over £10 for a breakfast and no mushrooms, no black pudding even though it said these items on the menu. The bacon was the biggest disappointment. We basically ended up with a plate of hash browns. So overpriced. Will not be visiting this place again.

Very nice Sunday dinner. Lovely pint of guiness. Lovely glass of malbec. Reasonably priced. Nice heated smoking area.

Nice enough place but £8.35 for a Guinness and a J20, a bit steep.

The pub seemed to be understaffed, despite being only a handful of customers drinks took 20 mins to arrive Food was good, when it eventually arrived, a pity really, it used to be a fantastic pub for food.

Appreciated the easy to drink 'black sheep' pints. Still the sMe old warm feel (as the 1990s) but i did miss the open fireplace. The service was slow at the bar, but they did have two party groups on the saturday night I went in.

A spacious and very dog friendly pub just about half a mile detour off the Ladybrook Valley walk from Abney Park to Poynton Pool. Much nicer choices and food than Bramhall Park cafe which isn't dog friendly inside. It does look a typical sports TV environment, not my thing but for a weekday lunch it was quiet and perfect. I particularly liked the menu choices with smaller or lighter options, though I would have liked another vegetarian than macaroni cheese. I chose just a garlic cheese ciabatta which was enough with a latte to follow.

Had a nice evening here. Was great to be able to bring the dogs in also be able to have some food which was very nice. Staff were all very friendly and happy to give us extra water for our thirsty dogs 🐶

Went on a Tuesday evening. Large pub but inside it has a sole. Friendly staff and good choice of beers etc. You can watch football if you want or find a cosy corner away from it. Worth a visit

Lovely pub grub, nice friendly atmosphere and the staff were very helpful.

All staff were very friendly & helpful. My husband had the chicken & ham pie which he thought was great although the frozen chips did let it down. Mum had the veggie tart that she enjoyed & I had taco's which were quite hot, messy to eat but nice. Will definitely be going back, maybe on their afternoon sessions.

Horse racing shown on all television screens the afternoon we were there and sound on a tad too loud, otherwise furnishings and experience ok.

Went on Sunday but no Sunday lunches on. Rest of menu very limited.

A good local pub in the area. Friendly staff. Good selection of ales and drinks.

Only popped in with a pal for a quick pint and the beer was ten out of ten. A few beers 'coming soon' but as above the one we had was tip top. Lovely service and very swift. What more could you want? Well worth a visit. Lots of tables outside, several with umbrellas when it's hot as it is today.

The Ladybrook. Food. I've had bar snacks a few times and they've been great. Looking forward to a family meal, prices and presentation look v good. Footy Pub Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves recently. Atmosphere electric, beer flowing, trouble free happy clientele, fast and efficient staff : heaven ! Something like 8 or 10 big screen TVs from the main bar area through to quieter corners in side rooms .... all catered for. Top venue !

The nicest food I've had at a pub for a long time!

Menu across a lot of Greene king pubs has been made smaller. I presume to cut costs. I think we will see a lot of Greene king pubs closing in the next few years.... Shame.

A brilliant dog friendly pub with great beer and food

First visit. Very large pub with numerous interconnecting areas. Lofty and not very cosy. Very, very noisy with what might have been a hen party. Good range of ales and I enjoyed a very reasonable meal both in terms of quality and cost.

This is a great community pub. Really good food and always have an excellent range of ales. The landlady and staff are friendly and welcoming. Enjoy watching the footy here and they often have some very good live acts.

We booked christmas day dinner here and was terribly disappointed with the food the quality was very poor. paid alot of money for christmas dinner and it was really bland, parsnips and roasts were dry and overcooked the mash was instant mash and tasted awful, the soup was bearly warm and watered down hardly any flavour. overall we were all disappointed with the food.

Joined family for a meal at the pub. Had a lovely festive roast lunch. There was a local Xmas fare outside the pub aswell.

Bit expensive, for a Saturday evening you would think last orders were 11.15-11.30 but last orders called at 10.40 & staff were hoovering for 10.55 was all out for 11.20 bit rushed really.

Have always liked the Ladybrook, Made a booking a week ago, only to find it hadn't been registered, told it was probably put on the wrong day, managed to find a table. Not impressed!, we made a good evening, as it was special for us. But not sure if we want to return!

I last reviewed this pub 4 years ago & I have visited quite a few times since! So a quick update I thought was appropriate. I personally think this is one of the best run Greene King pubs & really sets an example! The cask beers are well kept with a good variety. It's a very well stocked bar, & the food well prepared & most importantly the staff are helpful & friendly! It really is well worth a visit & a quick thank you to the team who last served me who for once I have names Abby & Jacob! With Neil & Mel in the kitchen Go & enjoy & see if you agree (4 years ago) Excellent public house with good range of real ales and drinks with plenty of areas to either sit in and eat, or drink & watch sky sports and with outside areas

I highly recommend everybody try this place, the food was absolutely beautiful, cooked to how I wanted it. I had started eating the before I took the photo as it smelled wonderful and I was ravenous!The pic doesn't do the plate of food justice. Polite and helpful staff here also. 10 out of 10👍🏻

Its my local and its ok but not brilliant

First time here tonight the food was really good,steak cooked to perfection,the lady in the dress was lovely and the guys in the orange t-shirts were so helpful especially the one who cleared out plates he was so nice, helpful and friendly,sadly though I would of given 5 stars but there was a girl in a black t-shirt who I thought was rude and felt she talked down to staff aswell as my mum,I will definitely go again,it has a great seating area outside too for warm sunny days,would recommend goingx

A nice pub that hasn't been too modernised. Whilst the food is fairly standard chain offering, so ok, but they have a reasonable selection of well kept beers and there's usually a good atmosphere when we've been in, admittedly it's nearly always been on a Saturday night. Football and other sport is shown here on a number of screens, so good if you want to watch, but not so much if you don't. There is quite a lot of seating outside, although built up, so hardly a pub garden

Food was hot and reasonably priced. If you love football it’s on the screens around the pub. I went for a birthday party. We were looked after by the staff.

Wasn't too busy but food took almost an hour with absolutely no communication from the staff so you were just sat waiting. Eventually asked could the kids meal be brought ASAP as little one was getting cranky, to our dismay we realised we'd just waited 45 minutes for a microwave Chicago Town pizza. Did feel for the staff though as its not their fault the kitchen can't keep up.

Had a funeral buffet here this week and really couldn't fault the venue, food or team. Excellent buffet, loads of options. All the guests commented how fantastic it was. Thanking Lara and the team for looking after us all.

Went first time for birtrhday treat - Steak and I asked for Jacket potato instead of chips - absolutely brilliant meal, everything cooked just right 10 out of 10 starts - - well done Neil the chef . .

An excellent pub, ran by Tracey and her dedicated team (Patricia and Hannah are really friendly and helpful). The beer is kept really well, the food is honest and good pub fayre. For Bramhall it's a gem as the prices are reasonable, there's a room with sports and a pool table, many areas/nooks to sit away from the masses and a great outdoor area too.

Thought we would give it another try. Big mistake. Disgusting. Never going again.

Updated 25 Feb 2022: A lot more than is expected from a typical local pub. We could not fault the staff or service. Jean and Jacob looked after us as if we were in their home (but we had to pay). Six of us all had a great meal and we sent our feelings to the Chef (Mel). So good we have already booked our next visit.
