We came here for the first time for my birthday, and had three courses. We loved all six dishes - bruschetta and napoletano for starters, lasagna and bucatini puttanesca for mains, and cannoli for afters. There were so many herbs. We also shared a bottle of nero davola. The venue is quite small and, although we had booked, we had to wait a while for the food to arrive. But that was fine. But I would definitely recommend booking.

We dined last night at la strega. I had googled Italians in the area and it came high up on my search. I paid a deposit , and looked forward to the evening which was a birthday celebration for 11 of us. The food was delicious, but took so long to come, then people ate at all different times, which is a pet hate of mine. The restaurant area is quite small, and the toilet incredibly cramped getting in and out. The staff were so lovely but again, needed more as everything took so long. I also didn't realise it was a vegetarian restaurant. The meal was enjoyable, but the time it took to serve us all , and length of time of food prep, I thought the bill was incredibly pricey. Be good for a date night, but not for young children as they get inpatient waiting

I popped in for coffee and ended up having a light lunch. I had a Piadina, (see photo & description,) which was incredible, as well as olives, and a latte, which was the best coffee I’ve had anywhere. It’s a small place full of character, and a relaxed atmosphere. They cater fully for various dietary requirements—I am vegan and had no trouble ordering with plenty of options, as well as alternative milks for coffee etc. The owner was friendly and attentive, and helped me pick out desserts to take home, despite being busy prepping for the evening sittings. She even made a chocolate cannoli specially for my daughter. My wife said the jam tart she had was amazing. I will definitely be returning, probably quite regularly, and am already looking forward to trying something else from the menu on my next visit.

We celebrated Mia Mamma’s 80th birthday at this wonderful gem of an Italian restaurant. What made it even more special, the food is all home cooked and freshly prepared to order; exceptional flavoursome vegetarian cooking… molto delizioso! The atmosphere was warm, relaxed and homely! Thank you both for a wonderful night… we look forward to our next visit! ❤️

La Strega is hands down our favourite restaurant! We're from Cambridge originally so had quite a lot of choice and have been to some fancy places, but we always choose to come here for our special date night or bringing friends and family. The food is AMAZING, real real Italian food a far cry from any chain and even other independent places. The restaurant has a really cosy homey atmosphere and the staff are absolutely lovely without being overbearing. Be prepared for dinner as a real whole evening event and go slow! We love it so much we had our mini wedding reception dinner here and the team really went above and beyond to make our evening magical and just so special. It's vegetarian but it feels like it was by accident, there is no compromise on the menu - they do the traditional thing of making amazing dishes with simple but high quality components. Huge thanks to these guys for so many beautiful evenings, we love you!

Very disappointing; booked a table for 12.30, but were told on arrival that we were expected at 4.30! Excruciatingly loud music which was turned down (reluctantly) one notch on request, still too loud to hold a conversation with friends. We were the only customers but still had to wait about 40 minutes for the food which was OK but tiny portions so poor value. Our friend warned us about the very long wait for food after visiting the place one evening a few weeks earlier and was also the only customer. Light not working in (very cramped) loo generally rather shabby looking place. Won't be going again.

We ordered takeaway from La Strega. The food took a while to arrive but when it did it was absolutely worth the wait! The linguine was so fresh and the pesto homemade and delicious. My husband had the lasagne and was particularly impressed being usually a proud meat eater! We both agreed the bruschetta was the best we have ever had. Will definitely be paying the restaurant a visit soon to try more.

Probably one of my favourite places I have been to eat and it's local which is lovely! Lovely friendly staff. Leaves you satisfied and full. Only sight criticism is that having eaten so much not often enough room for a tiramisu (which is truly yummy) so you have to come back another time and try to make sure there is room.

This is a small family run restaurant with a huge warm welcome. the food is all meat and fish free and freshly cooked to order. We went for a family birthday lunch, 6 adults a teenager and a 9 year old. We had a range of starters and tried the lasagne, the gnocchi and the fetticini . It was all delicious. one of the party was vegan and vegan alternatives are readily available. They also do cakes and croissants and the coffee is superb. We will be back. They also sell Italian groceries! There's a free car park nearly opposite.

Don’t even think about it This was a takeaway . Arrived cold and pretty much unidentifiable. Ordered through Just Eat who refunded our payment within half an hour of us sending photos . Well done Ju
