Service was good from the sole waitress ,however food was poor I ordered a cesar salad for 13.95 it was supposed to come with poached egg and cos lettuce ,came with spinach and rocket no poached egg ,I don't like to complain but when you're not told about its going to be different to what is on the menu because we have run out and they have made it up as they go along ,my first big question ,in this day of allergy, intolerance etc suppose I was allergic to rocket or spinach ??? I wanted to go the day before but I was told that they were going to be bust later on ,o they could not accomodate us ,I saw lots of free tables ,we just wanted to eat and go a complete lost opportunity ,I went to a restaurant opposite, when I came out i the same empty tables at prezzo were still empty and had not been filled,I also get annoyed at only card payments are excepted ,so what happens to the people that don't have cards, feels like discrimination on those that are unable to have cards we are over covid now I thought ! Will not return to a prezzo Sorry !!

We visited on mother's day as a table of 3. First, the food was all done very nicely and tasted great. Such a shame the service let it down. We were sat upstairs where 2 girls were serving. They both couldn't have been less interested in their jobs. No smiles, or friendliness at all. Took drink and food order quickly but after that we were just left to it. We'd finished our starters, they cleared half the plates away and then just left one there which wasn't collected at all. Mains came and again once we'd finished we were not approached. We must of been sitting there for at least 20 minutes before we asked for dessert menus and then plates were taken. It was then another 15 minutes before they came back to take our order, at which point it was too late as we were close to the max 2 hours stay at the car Park, that tells you how slow they were . Id understand it if they were busy serving a lot of tables but they weren't, they were just standing at the bar. Such a shame, as food was good.

Table for 6 booked on Saturday evening. Very busy but served quickly. All drinks and food were reasonably priced. Lots of choices available too. Can highly recommend Caesar salad, Lasagne, Penne pasta and spicy pizzas, particularly calzone.

The two star rating is based on the fact that cash isn’t acceptable in Prezzo. This is very disappointing, for this reason we will take our money elsewhere. Amazing staff though, really polite and helpful.

My husband is gluten free and as Prezzo has the GF accreditation, I expected better. Poor choice on the gluten free menu. Main and dessert sub standard and cold coffee. Gluten free should not mean second class. Will not be coming again and definitely would not recommend to any coeliacs.

The menu was varied. Good food, excellent service - beef in chianti with porcini mash was superb. Decent wine, Fair price. It was quiet Friday afternoon but apparently gets very busy Friday , Saturday evenings. It is worthwhile checking it out.

Has had a run of poor reviews, A new manager has been appointed and he is doing his best to regain its reputation. We visited iin December 22 wit6h our nephew and friend from Texas. We all enjoyed the meal and service was very good. We shall return. John Packham

Visited before Christmas and left disappointed as found the food mediocre and atmosphere not great. Returned tonight and absolutely no complaints! Food was outstanding and our waitress adorable.

Despite recent mixed reviews on this site, we decided to give this Prezzo a try and we were so glad we did. Warm welcome, fast and friendly service, excellent food. Nothing to fault, and we will certainly be back.

Walking into Prezzo itself, we waited to be seated at the front door and ended up getting hit in the back by other customers due to the lack of view through the front door. As we were seated, we were asked the obvious questions such as allergies and any food restrictions that any of us had. As we went to order our meals for the night, we were told that one of them wasn’t available. There was lack of communication and we were left disappointed. Moreover, as we were finishing off our food, one of the two servers of the evening began cleaning up our table; this was seen as rude as the server could of clearly waited as we could finish. Finally, to top it all off, we decided that our deserts could of surely saved us from our night out, however once again, our decisions were also unavailable. I’ve never been so let down as an Italian myself and I should reconsider my options and go to Wildwood which is thankfully just across the road.

Served flat and stale Ferrari Maximum Blanc £9 m. Replaced with fresh. Calzone 3 carne fine. Ravioli (new dish) serves in watery “sauce”. Ravioli Itself was OK. Disappointing visit as Ely Prezzo has been good on previous visits for our Advent anniversary. Waitress was fine but needs some training in wine.

Pre-booked on Christmas market day Prezzo, where I was meeting with three friends to enjoy the festivities. When I went on the website for Ely there was no mention that they couldn't accept either Tesco vouchers or alternatively the 25% discount code my friend had received. I booked especially as we are all on a budget, only to be told no, on the market day you can't use them. It's a shame they don't put up a warning about it or else I probably wouldn't have booked. Putting that aside we had a great meal, the atmosphere was great and the toilets spotless (upstairs for info). If you go on an event day though you must book as they were turning people away.

Hmm....first impression not good as left standing in the doorway for quite a while. Only 2 tables were occupied. When a staff member eventually approached, his first line was that it was near the end of service time - at 8:15? We ordered drinks, one starter and mains. The waiter asked that we wanted the starter first, then mains - yes please. Starter duly arrived, two olives eaten then main courses delivered. Still no drinks - just a wine and a beer, no complicated cocktails. After a while my husband attracted the attention of another member of staff and managed to get out drinks. The waitress was actually ok but the waiter was a complete waste of space. Had he been a school leaver or something it may have been excusable but this was someone of an age who should have known what's expected of an adult at work. No, we didn't leave a tip.

Ragu was dry, without any sauce-oily,with béchamel on top and small dots of nduja sausage… Was side salad changed??Used to be colourful with carrots and lovely dressing, refreshing, our was with tomatoes and cucumber- which was old, yellowish and dressing made of oil only - which made the meal very unpleasant… Extra ingredients on pizza was messed up, gave us olives instead red onion… Pizza had so much flour all over. Child’s meal ok, but chips were almost cold. Vanilla ice cream was definitely not what it used to be, tasted artificial, our 7 years old daughter refused to eat, which has never happened before… Will not be going back to Prezzo in Ely for sure.

After a lot of confusion about what is and is not available we had a very mediocre meal. The Menu says; "Handmade ravioli are filled with British crab and lobster. Served in a velvety tomato lobster bisque with plenty of chives" The reality was; "Soggy Pasta Parcels filled with something pretty tasteless, swimming in a thin yellow watery sauce which tasted of nothing" Pepperoni Pizza looked dry & anemic. Braised beef with mashed potato just about acceptable. All in all I will not rush back. Something needs to change.

Scored a 2 because the food was nice but a long way from special. Poorly presented entrance with paperwork piled on a table by the door. This was very reminiscent of what followed. No real care of service and the details no offer of Parmesan...

Four of us called in for a main course prior to an event at the cathedral. Risotto, baked salmon and two pasta dishes were ordered. All the food was well flavoured and presented. Service was good. We have not been to this Prezzo before but will go again if we are in the area. It is in the centre of the town conveniently located by the cathedral.

It really shouldn't take over 1 1/2 hours for us to be served and eat two courses. Admittedly the restaurant was quite busy but I suspect the kitchen is really too small to serve that number of people in a reasonable time. There were long delays between courses which nearly made us late for our appointment after the meal.Having said all that, the food was quite good altjhough not outstanding and the service staff were friendly.

It is impossible for a chain restaurant to be as charming as the others.However, the location of Prezzo in Ely is uncommonly great, especially in the summer thanks to a terrasse overlooking the incredible cathedral.The restaurant is clean, well kept. Toilets are really clean.Dinning rooms on two floors are set in a very charming, incredibly old, historic house. Staff is rather kind.The food we got was perfectly all right.Wine proposal is all right. So is the beer list (beer proposal trendier than wine list big both good).Prices are reasonable.The problem: it took awfully too long for us to receive 2 pizzas. It hasn’t been a real problem on that early Sunday afternoon but it could have been.In spite of this problem, the experience has been good.

Enjoyed a nice meal here, using meerkat meals so 2 for 1 making it very very reasonable. I had calamari which was a tad disappointing, and calzone which was massive! Service slightly slow but potentially busier than they were expecting!

Visited Ely with friends spending weekend in Cambridgeshire. The food was excellent with great value 2 course meals. Service provided by staff was also very good so all in all, a very pleasant experience.

I booked a table for 4. Took my pensionist parents out for a nice dinner. The food was good and came quite quickly. We had a table on the ground floor, I can't say how it was upstairs but the ground floor became very noisy after a short time (it was full). We all had difficulty hearing our own conversations, and left as soon as we had finished our meals.

With friends my wife and I had a lovely lunch. We had three different dishes and found they were far better than we had had at the Cambridge branch, both in quality and quantity. Service was first class too. We shall be returning in the near future

I'd arrange to meet a friend for dinner in Ely which isn't a place I knew much about other than there's a cathedral and lots of great charity shops. After some discussion, we decided on Italian food and went to Prezzo. My daughter in law is Italian, and I've eaten at Italian places before so although it wasn't my first choice,that's where we went.

Really poor visit. Not very busy but the service was extremely slow. Waitress was somewhat rude and didn’t listen to our orders properly or speak in a particularly friendly manner. Then someone was rather unfortunately sick on the floor to which the staff put a “wet floor” sign up then didn’t clean the sick up for 15 mins, letting staff and customers walk around/over it. Food was bland and not cooked very well, but we did eat it all. Next time, we’ll just go pizza express.

Great service from start to finish. The food was excellent and the menu suitable for all tastes and for those with allergies too. We will definitely be visiting again as the care and attention given to disabled members of the party was exceptional and a ramp is provided for access when necessary.

Went Saturday night as a couple. Atmosphere was quiet for a Saturday. Waiting staff were very attentive. Food was amazing..as always. We both had calzone and could not fault them! Only downfall was warm wine.. beer was lovely though!!

I have visited this restaurant many times and have always found the service and food to be excellent. It is our "go to" place for a relaxed family tea when I don't want to cook as it offers something that we all enjoy.

We had a really nice meal, for once I could have Pizza (Gluten free), and also the prawns with Garlic bread as a GF starter. The rest of the party had pizza and pasta. which we all thoroughly enjoyed. One small drawback is we were seated near to an internal door which needed to be cept open and there was a slight draft.

Have been to Prezzo’s a few times and having a few clubcard vouchers to use, I booked online a few hours in advance. We were seated within 2 minutes upon arrival. The waitresses are polite, the dining area was clean and for a Monday night the restaurant was quite busy of which is always a good sign. Service was prompt, the food was good with no complaints. The only niggle was that the plates were cold for the mains, not a deal breaker but in the past this has not been an issue. The menu and drink prices are quite competitive, the variety of meals is good too.

We had a very good meal and enjoyed what we had. Prezzo's is not somewhere we visit regularly as there are other closer restaurants to us at home but this was less than a 10 minute walk from where we were staying. The food was lovely and the staff were very attentive. .

The Prezzo menu has changed and now the 3 meat dishes are salmon sea bass and a burgher. My wife used to enjoy a vegetarian salad that is no longer available, In all the choice (other than Pizza) was fairly bland. there are m,any other restaurants with a wider menu, Staff were v helpful and efficient. First of all, their food is AMAZING!. The place is lovely, very modern and elegant. The staff makes you feel welcome. I forgot the name of my server but all of them are very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this place.

Food was excellent and staff were great, but upstairs was freezing. I wore my coat to dine and was still cold. It’s an old building but more heaters required.

Had a large group booking of 12 for a birthday celebration, we were put upstairs where although it is not a separate room from the rest f upstairs, it felt segregated, as if we had our own function room, which was a really lovely area to be and fully added to the enjoyment of the celebrations. Our waitress couldn't have been more brilliant. She was attentive, but not intrusive, we had a complete mixture of offers from set menus as well as the main menu, with coeliacs, kids and vegetarians also mixed in, the waitress didn't make one mistake, all of the food came out correct, with no problems what so ever. Unfortunately we did not catch her name, but have attached a photo of her, she should be praised highly by management. All of the food was lovely, although the gluten free pizza bases were very hard, but that is the only snag of all of the meals. We had a late lunch booking and were pretty much the only table left before their evening service, however we were not rushed even when one of our party wanted to make a speech. I would certainly come back again to this Prezzo.

Great food every time . Staff are friendly and love eating on the balcony in summer overlooking Ely Cathedral. Great selection to suit everyone.

We visited Prezzo Ely as a family group of 6 (4 adults, 2 children). We had not been before, but had Tesco Rewards vouchers and thought we'd try it. We had booked a table through Bookatable for 5.15pm. but we actually finished our day out at Ely an hour earlier than we had anticipated. We popped into Prezzo to see if we could have an earlier table and they were very helpful, so we sat down for our meal at 4.15pm. which was great. Throughout, the staff were attentive and we loved the ambience inside: quite classical, very smart and clean. The food came quite quickly and it was delicious ! I had the spaghetti carbonara and reckon it was one of the best I've ever had. All in all, we were really happy with our experience with only two negatives, namely: 1. the toilets are upstairs and one of our party could not make it up there and 2. there was only short-term parking for Disabled nearby. We had to park some distance away and walk there, which was a problem for the disabled one of our party. That aside, we all enjoyed our visit and the children were more than happy with their choices. Well done, Prezzo Ely !

We ate in Prezzo whike on a festive break, as we love Italian food. We booked the Christmas 2 courses for £14.95 and it was very poor value for money.

We went there with another family and we didn't book a table but the staff was very helpful and find us a table to accommodate us straight away without waiting despite the place looked very busy.

I am not a lover of pasta, bread type restaurants. But Prezzo had a few other options. One was pork belly!! Oh yes is was to drawer. New menu.... no longer available. Revert to pasta & or bread. Not for me.

This is a great place, nice atmosphere and very obliging staff. Even if you’re only stopping for a quick coffee! Try it and see for your self.

Ok with Tesco vouchers, but it would be disappointing if we had to pay for the food. On the previous two visits the pizzas have been rock hard and could not be cut! My hands were aching during the meal from sawing away!!

I booked a table for 7 of us to have Sunday lunch at prezzos. The booking was smooth and our table was ready for us. The food and drink was all delicious. My eldest' s calzone did come out burnt on top but once we pointed it out they quickly got him another ... the service was great and they took Tesco Clubcard vouchers for the food costs so we left very happy. It's situated right near the cathedral too. Thank you for a lovely meal!

A previous reviewer summed up my feelings about Prezzo in Ely perfectly - acceptable without being wonderful. The downstairs area where we sat lacked character & atmosphere. No complaints about the food other than that I didn’t choose wisely - my fault entirely and I can’t pinpoint any one thing that I was unhappy with, I just wouldn’t be in a rush to eat there again.

We have been to Prezzo many times over the years, including a couple of times since the menu update (reduction of number of dishes, which included the removal of my favourite dish). We consider Prezzo a good venue for celebrations and occasions. This time, for the first time, we had vouchers from Buyagift, one of which was a set menu for 2 with a bottle of Prosecco, and one was a set menu for 2 with a (175ml) glass of wine. We were also with a third couple, who used the regular a la carte menu. We didn't know what the set menus offered beforehand, and were somewhat surprised by the very limited choice they provided. Even more bizarre was that the 2 set menus offered a different choice of dishes. For these reasons, and only these reasons, I am making my rating 3/5. The food was very good, the restaurant was clean and cosy, and the service was fine. It just seems strange that the vouchers, which by virtue of being "gift" vouchers, provide a very limited choice of dishes. In my opinion they should provide the best of what the restaurant offers, not a smattering.

First visit to the Ely restaurant and what a disappointment. We arrived and got told there would be a 10 minute wait which we were absolutely fine with as we hadn't booked, 30 minutes later we were shown to our table. After yet another wait the young waiter came and took our drinks orders and we also ordered our food at the same time. Drinks came and weren't what we ordered then food shortly afterwards. The food was nowhere near the same standard as the Kings Lynn Prezzo and I actually left most of it as the Carbonara sauce was very watery. I wasn't actually approached to ask if everything was ok or I would have complained. When it came to paying I showed my NHS blue light card from which we usually recieve a discount with and the waiter looked at it and informed me that they don't accept them and do I have a voucher ... Which I didn't. I have used this card in many branches of Prezzo with no problems before so why this one is different I've no idea. A very disappointing visit

What the title says - a good selection on the menu, well prepared and presented, and in a pleasant space with good servers.

I meet a friend here most weeks for lunch. We always have a code (or we wouldn’t go). The food is always acceptable without being wonderful. But the staff are lovely. We go back and back because of them. They remember us. Sometimes don’t charge for a second coffee. It feels like a family run place, although I know it isn’t. The East European waitress/manager (not sure) is particularly charming.

The new menu is excellent and my birthday was made perfect with 13 of the family attending. All got good service as those with dietary problems were well served. My wife is Gluten intolerant and had very good food. The service was good and very attentive.

We visit Prezzo Ely regularly. Not quite once a week but nearly. The food is generally good and quick to arrive and the children like their food options which with tired, hungry four year olds is a must.

A very good restaurant offering excellent Gluten Free options, especially their ‘new’ menu. Very attentive staff who check ingredients for this and other allergens. Staff are polite courteous and pleasant. Food and drink is competitively priced especially if you have a voucher, which is easy to obtain. Always a nice atmosphere to dine in, either as a couple or with friends. Highly recommended.
