La Porto Italiano in Stockton-on-Tees

Come regularly with a friend for a catch up and a gossip, over wonderful food. The waitress, Vicki, always remembers us and is very friendly and helpful, nothing is an inconvenience, and I’m sure we quite testing as customers as there’s always something we want changing to the ingredients listed. However the chef has always been very accommodating. Every meal we have had is always very tasty 😋

Just had a lovely meal at la Porto in Norton. Lasagne and pasta arrabiata. Staff were great, Megan and Vicky are very professional, helpful and friendly. Overall a great experience. Thank you.

Visited La Porto with my parents and a family friend yesterday for lunch, they have been going regularly for several years and id heard so much about it, I was on holiday from work so asked if I could join them. What a lovely friendly place, with a nice atmosphere. Vicky who served us was lovely and was so pleased to welcome us. I had the lasagne and it was really tasty and well presented with garlic bread and salad, all the other meals looked great too. Would definitely recommend and hope to return with my husband in the future. Many thanks

We visited based on the great reviews and all of my group were really disappointed unfortunately. The menu was extensive, but we all opted for pizzas. My margherita pizza was really greasy, the base had an unpleasant texture and it was just extremely bland - I managed to eat half of it simply because I was really hungry. At least it was (mostly) cooked through though! Two of the others in the group received undercooked pizzas, with one of them being so bad it was inedible. When the waitress came to ask how everything was, my friend pointed out that she hadn't been able to eat any of her pizza as it was raw. The waitress took two of the other half eaten pizzas back to the chef and came back saying that the chef said they were fine. My friend tried to explain that while the base was cooked, the middle of her pizza (which the chef hadn't even seen) was raw, but the staff were entirely uninterested. We weren't looking for an argument so we left it at that! Payment was cash only, which according to the reviews, seems to be a regular thing here. Not ideal, but also not a major issue. Could cause inconvenience for some though. I'm not sure if they were having an off day or what, but the food was really poor and the service wasn't great either. La Porto's high rating on here certainly doesn't reflect our experience, and I won't be returning.

Fantastic food, But Very Sadly let down being SO COLD & NO HEATING!! i was frozen & wasnt even near the front of the restaurant.. You need to keep customers happy with a warmer plane to eat, Also not able to pay by card only cash isn't very professional. Come on La Porto let's get things better for your guests to enjoy.. Would have been more than a three as food was nice and service good. However it was freezing in there and this meant we couldn't enjoy our meal. So despite having a lovely sea food risotto I won't return, at least not until summer.

I didn't think it was possible to make a bad pizza, turns out I was wrong! Three of us "dined" here together, we all ordered pizzas, all of them had under cooked bases, the bottoms were cooked but the rest was still raw. When we alerted the staff to this we were told, because we didn't tell them when they first came to ask ( we hadn't really touched our food at that point) that there was nothing they would do, even though, we showed them the raw dough on our pizzas. If the pizza bases had been slightly thinner they would have been at least edible and I wouldn't be writing this review. Needless to say we won't be back.

Excellent food, excellent service and excellent value for money. good selection of Wines and drinks. Ideal for Brunch, Lunch, Afternoons and Evenings. The Restaurant is beautifully decorated sitting nicely between casual and more formal decor. The decor reflects the thoughtfully curated Menu, something for everyone and lots of specials and a choice of Menus (Lunch specials, kids eat free at certain times). Highly recommend a visit....you'll be back.

First time tonight with my hubby food was horrible my hubby orderd stirlone steak mushrooms burnt onion rings were over done and dry about half a dozen chips then.to top it off rude staff and contactles machine not working loads of people told to walk to norton green to use cash machine why was this not stated when ordering food staff laughing about it first impressions of this place's my hubby said never agian would he go there .After tonight

Came Saturday afternoon , hadn’t been for a while , don’t know why as this place is hard to beat ! We sat in the conservatory and it was nice and warm , a lovely welcome by the 2 young girls . Food was excellent mussels and a lasagne my husband had prawn cocktail which was rammed with prawns and pasta with sausage , beautifully cooked and a great price . Visited as part of a large group. The food was absolutely spot on. The drinks are reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and the service was exceptional. This place certainly knows how to feed, water and treat customers, all for a fair price! We will be back soon as so many dishes I want to sample. Hope your new Stockton venture is a huge success.👍

Visited 11 September . Host was great , table for three . Food again was fresh and wholesome and very good . The lady looking after us at the table was super friendly and helpful . Been here a few times now and looks like a family favourite , each meal been great so far on each visit . Credit where credit is due also prices very reasonable . Rest of norton take note 🙌
