really nice small family run Italian place with good pizza and pasta dishes. it is a friendly restaurant and the service is good. it is better than some of the chain restaurants in town.

I foolishly had the misconception that this restaurant wasn't really very good, no idea why. How wrong was I. Fantastic staff and traditional Italian food. Absolutely superb and fault less. A genuine pleasure. Definitely going again very soon.

We were here at Christmas Eve, the place was busy, which was expected. The restaurant is quite small, but that adds to the intimate atmostphere of the place. As for the food and service, couldn't fault either, the food was lovely and despite it being busy the service was spot on as well. I would not hesitate to come back here.

Ate here today. Food was ok , set Xmas menu for £30. The place was busy. We were last here before Covid and it was warm and friendly , Italian owner very good! This time, the staff were totally disinterested in their clients , no interaction at all .Noone was Italian but made a massive effort to call everyone Senorita and Senoir ????Very bizarre. Probably wouldn't go back as felt very unwelcome. Shame.

Probably one of the only Horsham restaurants I’ve not been to and I’m now annoyed I’ve been missing out on this little gem! Absolutely lovely authentic Italian restaurant, staff were super attentive, helpful with wine and menu choices and the food was delicious. I will definitely be a regular from now on.

You could be fooled into thinking the food / service is great as it looks busy from the outside. It was very expensive for what it was. Difficult to get a pizza wrong but the crusts were really difficult to cut through even with a sharp knife. Penne pasta dish was tiny and left our soon very hungry. Deserts tasted like they were bought in a supermarket. To make things worse - my father left his 80th birthday card unopened on a chair. He realised and went back with 3 MINUTES. I had been opened by the staff ( there was no money in it !) and then ripped up and thrown in the bin. He was really upset and no apology. Much better Italians in town at the other end.

Disappointing. This is about as far from Italian as you can possibly get. Based on the pizza, which, lets face it is hardly fine dining, it was undercooked and the 1970's called they want their sauce back. I have now tried all the purveyors of pizza in Horsham. This one will not get a third chance. Hence the review.

My partner and I went to La Piazetta on a Friday night for his birthday as we both love Italian food and previously had very good experiences there, however something has gone seriously downhill in the past year as we have had two bad experiences there now! The first of these two experiences the service was great however the food was not up to standard of what we have had previously however it was a busy Saturday night so we put it down to it being busy and just agreed it was fine however the experience we had on Friday the 20th of October was extremely bad! My partner has also been recently diagnosed with gluten and dairy intolerance which was mentioned on the booking we made. My partner had the Gamberoni Piccanti and I had the Fungghi Gorgonzola as starters, my starter was very nice however my partners was not as he had a maximum of 4-5 Prawns which to be honest was not worth £9.95 at all! For mains my partner had a gluten free vegan pizza with roasted vegetables and I had the Linguini Marinara and we were not happy at all! The pizza was burnt on one side and very pasty to the taste on the other edge, with minimal pizza sauce, a small handful of vegan cheese, 1 tiny bit of pepper, 2 slices of masserated aubergine and 2 small slices of half grilled courgette! My linguini was a pale of what I had previously when I ordered this dish! I had several empty mussel shells, 2 pieces of Squid and Prawns, and about 3 clams, but when I had this dish before it had almost double the amount of everything and tasted fresh instead of a sauce that tasted premade and a "brought in" product with a handful of herbs chucked in. I don't know if the chef has changed or if they have had to drastically cut costs or what I have no idea however I would not recommend this place to anyone where before I would go away ranting and raving about this restaurant! We also did not recieve a checkback once while we were there! Nobody came to ask about our food or if everything was okay, this to me is a bad sign in a restaurant seeing as I work in the industry myself and know how food service in restaurants works. When we spoke to one of the servers about the meal she said she would speak to her manager and she didn't come back with a resolution to the problem she just gave us the bill with the pizza removed which I requested. I would not recommend this place to anyone as it is currently stands because it has certainly fallen from grace and I do not believe me and my partner will be returning.

We visited here last night with friends. It's a lovely restaurant. Great food and service. Ability to order gluten free dishes, or smaller versions of main courses if needed. Food was fresh with generous portion sizes. Prices are at least 10-20% cheaper than its East Street rivals. Highly recommended

A fabulous meal. We ordered the Quattro Stagioni pizza and the Salmon Fettuccini. Both were absolutely delicious. Really sad when I had my last mouthful. The service was excellent (attentive staff and quick delivery of food) and we really enjoyed the calm and relaxing atmoshere (unlike the local chain Italian restaurant that we'd checked out which was extremely loud). At £12.95 per each main course the meal was great value for money.

Arrived without a booking on a Friday, staff extremely accommodating & warm/friendly. We had teenagers who didn't want to eat with the adults, staff allowed them to eat their own food, great for thise with picky teenagers!! Amazing.... The food was delicious, I ordered the Mushroom Torfudo, friends had clams, tomato linguine... The Caprese was a delight alongside sine fresh garlic bread... Great meal, great staff & recommend 👌

I booked La Piazzetta as they had room for 12 of us without having to pay a deposit or the need to pre-order. Ours was a family group ranging in age from 35 to 87. We all enjoyed our food and were very impressed with the service. The restaurant is set in a lovely building and the atmosphere was welcoming. The staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for us - we all said we’d definitely be back. Thanks for a really enjoyable evening. 😊

I booked a table for 2 over the phone and was really looking forward to introducing my friend to this restaurant as she’d not been before. The frontage looked so inviting on a wet windy Friday night, however the greeting we received inside was totally the opposite!!! The man in charge was very aggressive & said we hadn’t booked and demanded to see proof. He waved his A4 hand drawn seating plan in front of us and said “it’s impossible!” I showed him my phone, proving that I had rang. He could have dealt with the problem in a far calmer and agreeable way. He was so rude and we were made to feel humiliated in front of other diners. It was their mistake that they’d lost our booking yet we were made to feel like we were in the wrong. He said he’d have room for us later that night but we declined. We won’t be going back!!

Having phoned up and booked the previous day, the restaurant couldn't actually honour the booking. The man who seemed to be in charge was so unbelievably rude about it. He demanded we prove we had phoned by showing him the number and he was still rude after we did this. My friend and I were so completely shocked by his aggressive demeanour. I very much believe in being the better person so we didn't row with him and tried to remain polite but we were left very upset and, it being a Friday night, were worried we might not find anywhere else to eat. It was utterly humiliating to be called liars in front of a restaurant full of diners with some of them laughing at us. I was really looking forward to trying this little place but wouldn't eat there in the future if it was the last restaurant in Horsham.

This was the second time in two weeks I’ve been out to dinner here and I could not fault either experiences, staff are on the ball and couldn’t do more for us and made the already enjoyable evenings even better and the food is always hot and delicious, would highly recommend for a wonderful time out.

Visited with friends for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was packed which is always a good sign. We shared a mix of starters between five of us, the garlic bread, anti-pasto and bruschetta. Great portion sizes (the garlic bread was huge) and tasty. We all had a mix of mains, pasta, salad and risotto. I chose the penne Verdi which was a chicken with basil pesto, cream and Parmesan. Again really generous portion sizes but delicious, so generous they had to box up the left over for take out. Even though busy we were not kept waiting for long for our orders to be taken and the staff were really attentive and friendly. Overall a really lovely lunch and great decision to visit

We had visited this restaurant when it first opened as a couple but returned this time as a family...and we were so glad we did!The food is excellent and the portions large. It’s traditional Italian so if that’s your thing, you can’t go wrong. In my opinion, the best Italian currently in Horsham.We ordered pasta starters and pizza mains. Our little one had his own children’s menu - the portion was enormous and he wolfed it down!! It was simple spaghetti bolognaise, a drink and gelato to finish but that’s what he likes!The service was excellent throughout and the waiters checked in regularly - even just to smile and chat with our son! Trying to support what has always been a lovely little restaurant . Never again , we were cramped into a small space between the kitchen and the reception desk . No social distancing whatsoever ever . Looked as if no tables had been removed to make space to follow government guidelines . The restaurant was full , staff seem to be unable to cope with numbers , it was rushed and service was not up to usual standard . Whether or not management are just being greedy and trying to get as many paying customers as possible but to not follow guidelines will do them no favours . Certainly does not instill confidence to go out and eat . Also noticed that as a table was emptied it was just given a quick wipe over and reset for next customer BEWARE !!

La Piazzetta : 12 August 2020Our first visit to this restaurant and making use of the ‘Eat Out to Help out’ campaign so had a reduction of around £20 or so off the bill.Booked a table on line several days prior, but a number of visitors were coming up on spec to try and get a table, although the place was full – both outside and inside (only just enough room between tables to be comfortable). The Waiters were all helpful and friendly and worked hard – they were very busy; we didn’t have to wait long before the main meal was delivered. Inside the restaurant it would have been more comfortable to have a few fans around the place as it was very warm.Covid-safe? There was a bottle of hand sanitiser on one of the empty tables near the door, but this wasn’t pointed out to us on arrival. I saw it after we’d sat down, but thankfully I had some in my bag which we used. Menus were handed to us – they did have a plastic cover and we can only hope they were sanitised before giving out to the next customer.Bit disappointed with the food – I tried the Swordfish which came in a ‘tomato & white wine sauce’ but it contained a small amount of red chilli, which I personally despise! It burned my mouth and I couldn’t taste some of the remainder of the dish. Restaurants MUST put this on the menu – it’s not the first time it has happened to me when eating out and makes me quite annoyed. I did point this out to the Waiter, who apologised. (The menu states: Pan fried swordfish with capers, cherry tomato & white wine sauce – no mention of chillis ..!!).The Duck choice was apparently quite good and cooked well. We both had the Tirasmisu for Dessert as there was no Coffee Gelato (which was on the Website menu) but not on the restaurant menu (disappointingly) - it was OK but quite bland. Not sure I would want to return.

Me and partner came here for our third date over a year ago now so decided to come again to celebrate his birthday! I had the cabonara which was lovely and very creamy! We also had the garlic pizza bread which was very yummy. They have a good selection of cocktails and wine too although it would be great if they could add cider to the menu! The staff are always very friendly and you can tell that’s it a family run business which is one of the reason I like this restaurant! Ate there last Friday and whilst it was busy everyone was welcoming and helpful. The food was great, authentic Italian, so much better than the chains. Like many independents they are worried about the impact of the current coronavirus situation, but as long as they are allowed to stay open,people of Horsham please support them!
