Absolutely delicious food! Cooked to perfection! We will definitely be back!

The world needs more seafood restaurants. Everything was perfectly cooked. My partners monkfish was better than my sea bass, which is my only complaint. We live not too far away and will definitely be returning. Wine selection was a bit poor, but it's not fine dining. Prices were fair for the quality of the food, which again, was outstanding. Scallops, prawns and fish were all perfect.

In town for a day just to mooch around, we wanted somewhere a bit different. Shrewsbury seems to have loads of Italian food eateries, but we wanted local and not pizza, so tried here. The restaurant has a nice, slightly hippie ambience, is sited right in town and has an interesting menu. We did the a-la-carte two courses for £30, which was super value (though roasts are offered on a Sunday too). The fish selections are imaginative and high quality. The wines they have are a perfect accompaniment. We loved the Monkfish and Sea bass, and the scallops were delicious. The veggies are nicely prepared and thoughtfully selected to go with the appropriate mains. Recommended.

A delicious, well cooked meal followed by baclawa made in-house. Excellent service.

My wife and I ate here on a Wednesday evening and had been really looking forward to it for months. Our starters (scallops and garlic mushrooms) were fantastic, but the mains let it down. The fish was good but accompaniments came with it. The prawn salad was poor, the prawns were dry and non really edible.

All tough the moules were fine, the tagine was so overcooked. Before ordering I checked the pricelist and nowhere was mentioned there was a 12,5% service charge, welk, there is… unpleasant surprise, once, never again…

Scallop and black pudding starter exquisite, then monkfish with prawns equally mouthwatering. Loved the side dish of fried rice with nuts. Young staff friendly and chatty, a very enjoyable evening.

We booked a table and paid a £40 deposit (£10 each) I didn't mind paying it however I don't feel it necessary for a small table. When we arrived we were seated and it was very dark, I asked if the lights could be switched on to be told the chef doesn't like the lights on as they flicker and its distracting. We asked for zinfandel wine and was told that they didn't have any in stock only dry rose and they could add blackcurrant to make it sweeter I personally would have offered lemonade. When ordering food I wanted lobster I was told they only had lobster tail, I did order that and it was lovely but disappointed they didn't have what they offered on the menu. We asked some questions about the menu and a few things were not available. We also ordered the kofta and when it arrived they had no flat breads. So we were offered more bread. I asked for no tomato in my salad and tomato was actually in my salad when it arrived! Whilst we were mid meal the owner or manger was having a heated discussion with the waitress. It wasn't appropriate in front of house and that poor girl must have been embarrassed. I will say that we had no complaints with the food that was ordered and served it was very good. However I would not return due to the problems listed above. If I hadn't of payed the deposit after so many items not on the menu we would have left I'm afraid.

Lunch today for birthday celebration and items of food and drink requested were not available, which was very disappointing. The young waitress had to make many apologies and I did feel sorry for her as it was not her fault. We could of left but didn’t want to spoil the Birthday girl's lunchtime celebration and risk losing our £40 deposit paid 24 hours in advance in case of no show even though they clearly only had a couple of tables occupied. Food was tasty enough although the bread was rather stale/dry. Don’t think I would go again in case of repeat performance the explanation given to food and drink not available was that the menu was being changed… sorry just not good enough !!

This is a very good place to eat

Starter(moules), was delicious. A l9vely take on a classic. Main (lamb shank) was very good, but dry. Saved by the immaculate service. Food overall good, service exceptional. Happy customer.

All round poor. Dirty tablecloths, no lights on. Smelled of joss sticks. Starters were poor, mains were horrendous. I would have said no on sight but they had taken a deposit from my mother…. (who takes a deposit in a wholly empty restaurant???). Lamb shank was reheated and just disastrous. Sent back. Comped. Also what kind of restaurant displays ex-vat prices and displays them at 12.5%? Restaurant vat went back to 20% in 2022 so def something very dodgy happening that HMRC would be interested in? Anyway it’s definitely unusual and unethical to not include vat. Don’t bother. Edit: Owner’s response says it all. The reheated lamb shank was donkey it seems. Ripping off old ladies and being rude to honest reviewers. Good luck with that!

Have been in today for my partners birthday. Great service wonderful food. Only problem was making a decision on what to eat when everything sounded amazing.... Will definitely be back.

Arrived in Shrewsbury and not booked anywhere for food so decided to try here. So glad we did, the welcome and service was perfect and the food was amazing. We will be coming back next time we are here . Just perfect

Expensive but the food was very good. The food is very spicy, so you may need to ask that they chill it down, if spice is not your thing. They'll do this happily 😊. Great fish selection 👌

Very welcoming staff, great service and the food was out of this world, scallops were cooked to perfection, the beef fillet was really tender with so many wonderful flavours going on, one of the nicest dishes I've ever had and all topped off perfectly with baked figs, I can't wait to be in Shrewsbury again so I can come back hear

Absolutely exceptional. We came for an early doors meal whilst staying in the area. Cannot fault the food and Samuel at front of house was charming, friendly and informative. Our dog was allowed too and happily curled up under the table having been offered a treat and a bowl of water. Would definitely recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absoluty disappointed . Travel 1 h to get there hopping for a nice dinner , the menu was complicated as we had no idea what we were ordering, food come half cooked, we been told fish won’t have bone and it won’t be spicy come exactly opposite, the ostrich were not fresh at all you could feel the taste funny , and the rice looked old and seam like the just worm it in the microwave. Never ever again , let not talk about the bad indigestion we had the same night and day after. Be careful what you order if you ever go there and get ready to be disappointment.

If I could give less than one star I would . Food was not cooked properly , service slow, did not bring what we expected or think we oder, salad and rice there old you could see it didn’t even had to try it. Is not worth the travel to go back , I was expecting something much more quality specially sea food need to know how to cook and manage . I wouldn’t advise you is not worth it specially if you compare to the price you pay at the end .

Came here for a meal on new years eve having been recommended by friends. Lovely restaurant, great friendly service from the moment we arrived Food service was quick, and the food was every bit as tasty as it looked. All meals were very fresh and great value for the quality of the food Highly recommend and will definitely be returning

Had the seabass today. Never disappoints. Always had an excellent meal and always very good service. Highly recommend.

Great food and lovely customer service

Can I begin by saying it is very very rare I write such a negative review but I really do find very little to be positive about. I reserved a table for four and paid the deposit because the xmas menu looked very nice. When we were seated and were given the menu I asked for xmas menu to be informed it was only for parties over 6 and the menu had to be chosen prior to the date of eating. I was informed this was on their website which I have since checked and cannot find evidence of this. We ordered and while waiting for our meal 2 complimentary small dips with some bread and a salad was brought . The salad was lovely and fresh, bread warm and fresh. The small dips were tasteless. Our main course was pleasant but not worth the cost. i had bass with scallops and prawns which consisted of two average size pieces of bass four medium sized prawns and 2 scallops. Cost £25 minus vat which unusually is not included on the menu but added onto the bill which if you have not noticed is a bit of a surprise. The restaurant itself has nice decor but was cold . Staff were pleasant and service ok. I found the whole experience disappointing especially after reading such positive reviews. I can only be honest and will be writing an excellent review of another restaurant we dined the night before so I am not someone who complains for the sake of it. Sorry but I would definitely not recommend this restaurant.

The food was absolutely amazing and the staff were brilliant. I ordered a takeaway and had no cutlery so they very kindly let me borrow their silverware. Very friendly and very welcoming. 😊😊

Finally!!! We found a place that serves lobster and oysters. Love this place. The Lebanese style chicken kebabs, beef kebabs, steak and lobster, and oysters were all amazing! So delicious, definitely recommend try these. Well priced too. Definitely coming back here!!!

The best food ever and such lovely staff!!

We arrived in Shrewsbury on a bank holiday and wondered around looking for an open restaurant. We found a gem! We loved the scallops on black pudding with pea purée and bacon crumbles starter. The Monk fish tagine and monk fish and seafood with creamy pesto were fabulous!

What a superb place for a special lunch! It was recommended to us. From the starting Amuse bouche to the main course, the food was cooked to a high standard. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the wine complemented our meals perfectly. The best bit though, was the cararamalised figs and marscapone. This was to die for. We've told all our friends about it, and will be back soon

Update…. Tried new premises for the first time. Great service and amazing food BUT 2 mains and a glass of wine each £84 due to an additional 12.5 % charge TOO much!! Wow…..fantastic seafood expertly cooked and presented and served by attentive staff…..

This restaurant was recommended by couple of my friends which serves Mediterranean cuisine. They have lot of choices of sea food. We tried prawns and monk fish curry with rice, prawns chorizo peppers starters, long Island ice tea and baklava with ice cream for dessert. We shared among two of us and was more than enough. My personal favourite was prawns curry which reminded me of fish curry from India. Would come again to try other dishes 👍

We stumbled upon this restaurant on a night out in Shrewsbury. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff are very friendly and helpful (It was a Friday night, we had no reservation, the restaurant was buzzing and yet they still managed to find us a table). Then the food came....seriously good French and Egyptian cuisine. We are going to visit Shrewsbury again just so that we can come back here and eat.

Amazing food & service!! We went on a Sunday afternoon. We were sceptical on the beggining as there was only 1 more table in the restaurant. However, the waiters were so kind, the service was great, and the food DELICIOUS! We had the oysters, the scallops, the fried calamari, a side salad and rice and they also offered us a beetroot salad with flatbread as a welcome dish. Coming from a Mediterranean country, I can say that I haven't tried such a delicious seafood in the UK before. Well done guys! I definitely recommend it. I'm addition to the excellent service and food, the toillets were clean and the restaurant decoration/atmosphere was great as well.

Stopped here for a lunch on my way home. Not really a fan of salad but the beetroot salad they do for starters on the set menu is actually quite good. They even serve gluten free bread for starters with dips and did a tasty chicken Shish for mains. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes a good Mediterranean cuisine. Big shoutout to the friendly staff who work here too!

A fish lovers delight, just fantastic, hadn’t been back since the restaurant had moved from Frankwell. Still amazing food and service possibly even better than I remember. I had the whole bream for main which was just excellent. One of Shrewsbury best kept secret thank you.

The food here is absolutely stunning and the service is just as wonderful. Have been to eat here 3 times now, can't wait for the fourth.

We had a delicious meal here. We had the calves liver and then the whole bream and the bass fillet. We then had the baklava for dessert. The food was beautiful and the staff there were genuinely so sweet. Would go back if we lived closer. Great place

The best restaurant/food in Shrewsbury, infact the best I've ever been to. Staff were all so lovely and attentive. Atmosphere 10/10. Food 10/10 absolutely stunning, large portion sizes and really delicious!!! I'm a massive fish lover and I wasn't disappointed at all. Plus free tasty beetroot salad + hummus with flatbread while you wait. Definitely will be returning to work our way through the menu.

An impromptu trip to Shrewsbury resulted in my son and I going here for lunch as we are both huge seafood fans. The service was excellent, friendly, helpful staff made you feel welcome and answered any questions about the menu. They brought out flatbread, a beetroot salad, the most incredible hummus and baba ganoush before our starter which was the oysters (so delicious!) I wanted to try something new so went with the bream (beautifully cooked) and my son had the seafood parppadelle which was quite possibly the most delicious food we had tried in years! This place is well worth a visit, I only wish I lived closer as it would definitely be a regular haunt. Fantastic place, so glad we tried it.

Weekday mid-afternoon in mid February, in a provincial town only just beginning to show on many people's to-visit list. Open and serving, and deserving credit for that alone before even going through the door. Once inside, this seemed to reflect a je-ne-sais-quoi professional attitude towards food and service that permeated the whole show of this French/Egyptian operation I shall be returning to experience more,

Absolutely amazing! Service and attention by the staff was setting the bar incredibly high, you feel very special from the moment you're approached and seen to by the staff. Smiles all around. Music in the restaurant was at a perfect level of able to be heard but as background noise and not too loud at all. Now, onto the food, I could not be happier. Partner and I went out for a date night and decided on a seafood night. We had the giga oysters and prawn and crab veloute; absolutely beautiful. The veloute is possibly the nicest soup I've ever had, and it was my partners first time having giga oysters, safe to say he enjoyed them as they were all gone in no time, the staff recommended the squeeze of lemon and a bit of Tabasco sauce to go with them and it was great advice! Great portion sizes, I would recommend taking your time with the starters since the mains are cooked fresh so they do take some time, but due to the starters being very recently sized it's easy to spread it out. The mains! My partner ordered the bream dish and I ordered the half lobster. The fish was amazingly seasoned and cooked beautifully, and the lobster the cooked to perfection. That was my first time de-shelling a lobster, I did have to ask the staff when it came to the shells, and they didn't hesitate to educate with fun and smiles. Had an amazing time and we are already planning on taking our family members here. The cost is slightly upper, but very very worth it. Thank you to everyone who served us.

Service was impeccable. Been a long time since I've seen such sincere and professional service. Food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. 100% would reccomend if your into sea food.

Really great quality meal and great service lovley staff

First time visit. Staff were very welcoming and the interior warm and inviting. Ironically, being a sea food restaurant I don’t eat seafood but my plus one absolutely loves it and she was very impressed with her seafood chowder saying it was the best she has tasted in the UK. I had the Lebanese Chicken which was divine. There are also two beef and one lamb dishes for those who would prefer a meat option. Whilst enjoying our first drinks we were given complimentary nibbles - flat breads, salad with hummus. A nice touch and set us up perfectly the mains. They also serve cocktails. I had a Piña colada which was lovely and blended perfectly. Service was very good and staff had a nice demeanour about them. Definitely will return.

To deal well with my grandmother is a test in itself. We were extremely well looked after. My grandmother had a wonderful time. The food was excellent. The cocktails were brilliant and the service top tier. Can’t wait to go again. Would recommend to absolutely everyone.

We wnt for a birthday meal a week ago, the restaurant is decorated beautifully and felt like we were abraod. The cocktails were good but the food was amazing. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Can't wait to go back.

Truly amazing food. We decided on an all-fish 2 courses from the A La Carte and I was blown away by the quality of the ingredients and you could see there was a lot of care and attention to put the plate together. Our waiter was so lovely giving us some tips on what to visit in the area (can't remember his name but originally from Chicago! Fantastic chap!). All in all, it was a great experience and we will certainly go back there often.

We came here after a bad experience elsewhere for my sister-in-law's birthday lunch. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. I had been in touch previously about gluten free options and was advised there were plenty. However when asking at ordering I was told there was only one option for starters and one for main, which is very limited. I think, upon reflection, they probably could have adapted the menu for gf (e.g. no flatbread or different sauce) but I don't think the staff were confident enough to recommend. I went for the sea bass which was delicious! My sister-in-law had the sushi platter which she enjoyed, and then the baklawa for desert. We both had prosecco which was good too. Atmosphere wise it was pleasant enough although I would say that, given this is newly opened, I would expect the restaurant to be in better condition (paint rubbed off cistern, scuff marks, flooring upstairs was super sticky etc). The food was nice, and the staff were lovely. Sadly as they are limited on their gluten free options and there are other places in Shrewsbury that are excellent, I wouldn't return anytime soon. I will go back though when I fancy sea bass with a yummy sauce! It's definitely worth a try if you're looking for something different and reasonably priced (although my friends think it's expensive!) And local. Always nice to avoid the chains.

The reviews are good but the food and service were even better. Calves' liver, mackerel, whole bream and the tagine all packed with flavour and well presented. Friendliest of service too. Genuinely impressed. Thank you.

A rather strange experience. I am writing this so you know how inaccurate these reviews can be. My dear partner booked this place as it had 'good reviews' on the internet, and I don't blame her one bit. Rather than just say 'it was bad' I will explain specific things so you know this is a real review. I phoned ahead to alter our booking slightly (only by 30 minutes) and spoke directly to the chef/owner who told me that was impossible. OK, I thought, its a small restaurant. We arrived on time. The front of the restaurant is right on a main road and was covered in scaffolding. The interior was nicely decorated and clean (hence 2 stars). When I looked at the menu I began to worry. Dishes seemed to be mixed up. Fish and shellfish served together with middle eastern spices that would swamp the flavour. I chose some dishes I thought would be ok. To my surprise, before our starter came we were given a tray of middle eastern dips with bread. Never has humous and pita been so unwelcome to me. The LAST thing I want to do before a seafood banquet is eat this stuff first. What could I do? Send it back...when it was given free? I did try some, as I was hungry. It was bland. When our fish dishes arrived, it felt weird. The sauces that the seafood were in were so rich (too much butter?) that we really couldn't eat very much. Now I bow to no-one in my love of seafood and fish, but we left that restaurant with all our dishes half-eaten and that has never happened to me before. Basically this chef believes he can cook / devise good seafood meals and he just can't. What he CAN do, is take fantastic ingredients and throw them all together to produce inedible, experimental results. But let's try to be constructive. To succeed, you just need to be humble. Go back to the CLASSIC seafood recipes and GET THEM RIGHT. There is a reason that moules mariniere et al have been around for centuries. Don't chuck a load of salmon in cream sauce into the mussels just for the hell of it. Respect and master the traditional recipes before you go 'creative'. I'll never go back.

Horrific experience last night resulting in Police been called in order to resolve things. Waited hour and half for food and when we mentioned it Owners were rude and agressive. We disputed bill due to terrible service and owner then stood in door and refused to let us leave. Vile owners. NEVER go back

Went on 22nd Sept for a Birthday dinner. First time we went there and would definitely go back . Food was excellent and the staff were friendly.

Just wow . Had lunch .Mediterranean seafood of high quality. Various dishes to tempt customers. I opted for a curry with Monkfish , king prawn and salmon , delicious . Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit .

Sisters that lunch.. Booked table 7 for saturday lunchtime which was a lovely table to sit at in the sunshine. We were excited to try this restaurant knowing it's a little pricey but heard good reviews. I ordered a dish with chorizo,prawns and monkfish £28..it was mostly good but the star of the show (monkfish)was over cooked and dry. My two sisters ordered the chowder £22 each) with a side portion of dauphinoise potato. All came in good time but the daiphinoise potato portion was laughable in size and the chowder was a long way short of filling the medium bowl and more like a sauce than thick soup....anyway decided to tuck in after a very short while they realised there werent any scallops in the chowder which is there favourite so i said you need to mention it, so she called over the young waiter and explained, he said I will talk to the chef so they waited for him to come back expecting him to replace the dish but it was taken away for the chef to look at..a few minutes later it came back warm by now not hot and was told some scallops will follow which they did (2 ×each) lonely on a plate after they'd finished there meal. We were feeling a little underwhelmed at this point..asked for bill to find they add a 12% service charge which I feel is a little top heavy with the higher than average meal price. I will try it again but will be more ready to send a dish back next time!

Food and service were spectacular. Incredible attention to detail with the food. We were also eating with someone who was gluten free and the staff were subtle but accomodating, which was really appreciated.
