Popped in here for lunch with my Mum. The pasta we each had were both delicious and had lots of fresh ingredients and plenty of flavour. Nice generous portions too and at a good price. The service was relaxed and friendly and on a sunny day, it was nice to sit somewhere that has an open front.

I speak as an Italian who home cooks and loves a good time around the table with kids and friends... I feel at home at Giovanni's

This isn't the best little restaurant in tooting, it's the best in London. Very friendly great coffee it's like you are in Sicily, however the weather isn't always as good.

The choice of cheeses and salumeria is fantastic, Giovanni very helpful and Paolo too. I have just ordered their melanzane parmigiana dish and cannelloni for 50 people! Great service, friendly and superb coffee while we order! A place difficult to find but pass the word! A gem

Giovanni has returned to Tooting, a bit off the beaten track but well worth the effort to find this exceptional and friendly Deli / Restaurant. Authentic Italian, Mediterranean food served by Giovanni and his team, a warm smile will greet you as you enter, the food will delight you and the prices won't break the bank either.

What a splendid day. All day! Over 300 friends, family and children shared the grand opening of La Mediterranea at its new location after its closure at 180. Plate after plate of fresh pizza, pasta, vegetarian dishes, selections of cold meats and cheeses kept appearing with a full compliment of coffee, soft drinks and mineral water. Truly magnificent. No wonder there were three cheers for Giovanni! It’s a must to visit soon!

Off the Main Street, this place is a total joy. It gets 5 stars because it exceeds all expectations, and prices are reasonable. A straightforward deli that offers dishes of the day, pastas or meats, plus salads, coffees etc. All delicious. Simple cafe seating and friendly service make for a great environment. The shop sells everything Italian... cheeses, cured meats, pastas and lots more. Do not miss this gem.

You really don't come across these types of place very often anymore. A hidden gem in South London with friendly staff who produce incredibly tasty, homemade and fresh Italian dishes! Salads, sandwiches, meat, fish and pasta dishes produced daily. Service with a smile with fantastic food!

As someone who regularly drops in with a friend, I have come to appreciate what a vital part of the local community this deli/restaurant is. By its nature, it can only provide a limited choice of lunchtime meals, but what it does have to offer rarely disappoints. The experience is somewhat akin to dining with a slightly eccentric and very excitable family. So, if you are a stickler for order and formality here probably isn't for you. But if you enjoy a carefree atmosphere with a hint of chaos, this is a great place to hang out.

Fantastic friendly, neighbourhood restaurant - great food and a welcoming host. This no frills deli is a real community hub - with neighbours and local workers all visiting for their morning coffee or tasty lunch - a mix of traditional Sicilian pasta dishes, salads and sandwiches - or an afternoon ice cream. You can tell its good because at lunchtime it is packed, with the locals all nudging up and sharing tables to make space...and the real testimony, Italians travel from far and wide for a taste of traditional Italian cooking!

A perfect no frills, value for money day time destination. Lunch time usually offers a choice of 3 value pastas, vegetarian salads, mixed meat salads and sometimes sea bass and porchetta. Panini with your choice of fillings. All excellent value. In fact all things Sicily. Very family and child friendly. NOT open in the evenings.

I stayed in a hotel next to it and had breakfast. It is called Danny's diner now I think. Food was okay and the waiters were polite.

We’ve been coming here regularly for years. Always a friendly welcome in this family run cafe. Tasty breakfasts/light lunch and great coffee. Decent price for the area too. As it’s a Portuguese cafe you should definitely try the delicious pastel de nata (custard tart) or bolo di arroz (rice cake).

Having eaten there on and over the years the menu is now old hat and boring. The food is just about average
