I was tired of buttery heavy dishes and Asian spices when I found this place. As all others recommended, the place was clean and service was nice. And the dishes were all just as I wanted:with great taste but never greasy and not too salty.

I hadn't come across this restaurant before as it is a little outside the main Balham restaurant area. I thought the food was excellent and I'll return again.

Love this hidden place. I’ve been coming for years now. Owner is a gem and food is lovely. A firm favourite in Balham.

My friend had a baby shower in the space downstairs. Really nice cosy place. Service was great and food was nice, would recommend 👌

ALLERGY EXPERIENCE: Awful experience as my friend has a nut allergy and chose the halloumi dish. This had no mention of nuts on the menu, even thought it came with pesto on it. We were not asked when ordering if we had any allergies. My friend then had an allergy attack and we had to leave. They also made us pay for our meal despite us being there for a very short amount of time and having to rush out. Would not recommend going here at all, extremely disappointed and careless!

Food was very nice but doesn’t seem to attract loads of guests so has a very empty feel inside

Great food. Great. Service. Large portion sizes. Really can’t fault. Would definitely recommend. Meat was very tender and not dry which you can sometimes get. Beetroot dip on the Meze journey was delicious.

Probably the best Meze around Balham. I recommand both eat-in thanks to their friendly staff or takeway as they are really quick to prepare your food.

Must try!! This is our absolute favourite local, family owned place. Such a great hidden gem, which me and my partner love so much. Just off the busy road this place is so welcoming and the food never disappoint. The lamb cutlets is to die for and they even stock my favourite red, Primitivo. Worth mentioning Enrik who always makes us feel welcomed and looks after us. Thank you so much for all the lovely food and talk. You know we will be back. ;)

Three of us had lunch here yesterday, which was a Sunday and I expected to see this place buzzing. We were the only people there! Come on Balhamites, get with this and you will not be disappointed . Nice menu and wine list. We had three cold meze starters and then pork and apricot shish and lamb kofte. And some yummy desserts too. All excellent. Friendly service too. This restaurant deserves our support, so get down to Bedford Hill and starting eating some great food.

I have lost count of the number of times I have eaten here! I can't help coming back as the food is awesome and portions are generous. Tasty, affordable and friendly are a must for me and this place ticks all the boxes.

A good location just behind Balham station this small but friendly restaurant has accommodate a small group of us. The service was great but we have felt that the dishes needed more seasoning as there were blant, but also my grilled salmon was well overcooked which it was a disappointment.

The food was delicious, and the staff really friendly. Everything was perfect for my time with my sister in faith . Next time I would like come with few friends

A lovely restaurant near Balham, a modern layout for a traditional meze - Mediterranean cuisine! The menu is complete of everything you would expect from a meze restaurant and the prices are within the standards which is nice! We had a mixed grill to share which was DELICIOUS!! I was not expecting something like that and it definitely made my evening very pleasant! Really recommended :)

Visited this restaurant for my boyfriends birthday and it was amazing. Definitely recommend the baba ganoush and chicken shish. Food was so lovely and authentic and they gave my partner a dessert for his birthday which was lovely , will definitely be returning soon.

Great meal, drink and service. Pity Covid has killed the industry as there were only two tables for the evening. Very reasonably priced and will be returning

We live just down the road and are always keen to try anything in our local area. Meze Mazis was a great find - very good Mediterranean food (Turkish/Greek/Albanian). Good selection of mezze, nice Greek wine and very friendly service. Make the effort to walk 200m from Balham High Road and you won’t be disappointed.

There were 8 of us celebrating my husband’s birthday so between us we tried many things on the menu. We all enjoyed our food and the service was very good. It’s a lovely restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. They have a good cocktail menu and I thought the value for money was exceptional.

Had the Mezze platter for two & babaganoush. Perfect portion size for two people and the pita bread was lovely and warm and fresh. Everything was delicious! The service was great too! We’d highly recommend!

Hidden gem in Balham! Calamari, Mediterranean pasta, and lamb cutlets were all delicious - super fresh, well seasoned, and very reasonably priced! The service was also top-notch, served by a very friendly gentleman. Happy to have found a new local 😀

Went in here for a spur of the moment dinner on the way to the shops and it was a fantastic decision. The halloumi was amazing and it was nice to sit out the front with fast and friendly service!

The mixed grill is decent here. However, not a 5-star because the lamb shish wrap is filled with tons of chips (cheaper obviously) and not enough lamb/salad. Pasha Mangal does a much better lamb shish wrap which is perfect with just warp + lamb + salad. Please remove the chips from the lamb wrap, if people want chips they can order chips separately.

Great meal and great service, we especially liked the lamb koftes and the tzatziki. We will definitely coming back soon.

Excellent service at this cute local restaurant! It had a nice ambiance to it and we enjoyed the dim lighting. I shared the Mixed Grill with someone else and felt that was a perfect portion for two. The meat on the platter was SO juicy and tasty- would highly recommend this platter! The sea bass on the other hand was not so enjoyable as it came as a full fish without much seasoning or taste to it.

If you're looking for somewhere to go in Balham, look no further. I booked for a Sunday evening which was nice and quiet, a great atmosphere for a date or quiet catch up, the family run service and kitchen giving a refreshing alternative to more hectic local eateries. The food was excellent, such good value for money. I had the Drunken Calamari to start and Duck and Apricot Shish for my main, both were super delicious, the highlight being the grilled apricots... When paired with the duck it was so nicely balanced and I'm not usually someone who likes fruit with savory flavours. We shared the Baklava to end, super decadent and luxurious, the only negative was that I didn't have the whole plate to myself! I would definitely eat here again and thoroughly recommend it to anyone who hasn't been yet.

Lockdown had just relaxed and we were the only people sat outside. It was raining, they had heaters, brought out blankets and complementary tea and hot drinks. Great service from a restaurant that has had to struggle through this. Great food, drinks. Will definitely be going again!

We had a lovely time over there. The food was delicious, the service very friendly and the place really spotless. And on top of that, the final bill was more than affordable. I can only recommend.

Service was great. Food was fantastic - nothing to Fault!!! So filing but ate every single bite. Wine was even better. Weather held out even though there was heaters for the every now and then breeze. Cheeky carrot cake given by the waiter as a gesture! It was the perfect way to return to outdoor dining. My boyfriend and I came to this restaurant for an impromptu dinner this evening and it was amazing! We were served quickly and our host was lovely, we didn’t have to wait long for drinks or food at all. The food was the best we’ve had for ages; the flavours were incredible! We ordered the Meze journey and the mixed grill for two and there isn’t anything that wasn’t perfect. The variety and flavours were outstanding and I will definitely be visiting next time I’m in Balham!

We ordered a takeaway from Meze Mazi tonight and were really impressed. Very fresh, flavourful food with lots of options for veggies. Highly recommend the ‘mezze platter’ for the delicious selection of dips. Wish we’d ordered from here before now and will definitely be ordering again very soon!

Had the mixed grill for one. Everything was so tasty and perfectly cooked. Was ready for pick up in 10 minutes. The meat was well seasoned and it came with an awesome tomato/salsa dip. Could have drank the sauce it was that good!

Great place off the Balham high street. Always wanted to go and finally made it and will definitely be back. The food was fresh and very delicious. We’ve ordered mixed grilled for two and and hummus and beetroot dip starters and all were prepared and cooked to high standard! Definitely recommend to anyone who loves kebabs and Mediterranean cuisine.

A truly great local eatery, fully deserving of the five star reviews the other reviewers have given it. A simple restaurant with restrained, tasteful decor and really good meze food. Fresh ingredients and succulent meat produced by someone who really knows how to cook. We went for the mixed meze starter and the mixed grill for main course, which was absolutely perfect in terms of quantity and quality for two people. This place is almost forgotten about - it’s literally the last premises in Bedford Hill at the end of all the run of restaurants and pubs in that location but is incredibly worth a visit. London is full of Greek and Turkish places doing this type of food but this is about the best I’ve had. Highly recommended

Great food and service! Lovely safe space to spend an evening

We bumped into this very cute and a bit off-road Greek/Mediterranean tavern on the area, and given the reviews we promised to each other we would pay a visit very soon. I rarely found such great, fresh and authentic food and here you can have all of this, plus a great variety of choices. Booking online system works perfectly. The staff is excellent and very attentive. Also note they have a good waiter /table ratio so definitely will serve everything on time and the orders are spot on. Family friendly restaurant as they have high chairs for kids. The price is absolutely reasonable for the quality of meals you will be served, try the mix grill as this will blow your mind. They also serve a really enjoyable mint tea.

Visited this restaurant twice. Beautiful ambience. Excellent Service, lovely in house wine, served with olives with a drizzle of olive oil and warm sliced pitta bread. I am yet to have a meal at the restaurant this will be at my next visit .....

Fabulous restaurant. Wide range of food options on the menu. Great staff. The salmon kebabs and mixed grill were delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Came here on Wednesday. The food and service were out of this world. We had the calamari and hummus for starters, then the halloumi shush and the chicken shish for mains. I couldn’t recommend more highly. Enrik was a gentleman from start to finish. If I could give 6 stars I would. I’ll definitely be back.

Falafel wrap is delicious, portions are very big so I can only ever have half with some chips. For the price it is worth it as I have 2 meals from it

We stumbled across this local restaurant which is just around the corner from us! Can’t believe we’ve never tried it before! We had a wonderful service and enjoyed some delicious wraps, with a lovely side salad and chips. Delicious Efes beer and home made Baklava, it was scrumptious! The staff were really friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back again!

Absolutely delicious food, not a single thing to complain about. Tasted very authentic for Greek/Turkish food. Very nice atmosphere and friendly attentive staff. Definitely recommend the sharing meze for starters and the lamb kebab. Will be back when possible!

The smile they greet you with (at least one of the staff members there was doing it), the flexible and friendly attitude, the quality of the food, the presentation, portion size/price etc. The 5th star is missing simply because the 2nd staff projected an unfriendly vibe.

Lots of potential, Shame a few things let it down. Lamb was amazing, very tender and full of flavour. Duck was VERY dry and tough and had very little taste (apart from the apricots). You shouldn't serve this level of food. I had invited a guest and they commented I tried some and it was embarrassing. I ended up offered some of my lamb to them. Desert was cheap microwaved chocolate pudding with cheap ice cream. The cake base was almost rubbery in texture. As a dish that should finish off the meal, invest in some decent quality food. Also nobody likes ice texture in ice cream. I don't know what causes this (old ice cream, poor freezing, cheap ice cream?) but it's not good, it's it? Music was piercing at one point with a hollow and tinny sound dominating the room. A decent quality sound would not need to be pumped so loud. At one point I actually felt the beat through the floor, that's too much! Service was generally ok, it wasn't too busy though. Service felt at times a little artificial, with canned responses, 'great choices', etc. Some authenticity and humility might not go amiss. Also, when waiting to pay we had to wait ages despite the place being almost empty. When we did eventually ask for the bill, the server chose to clear a table first (there were loads of empty prepared tables). If this is an independent restaurant I hope it receives the feedback positively and makes a few easy changes and succeeds. I'd certainly like to provide an updated positive review at some point...

Service was great! Mains came straight after starters and the food was amazing! Definitely recommend. Would also advise booking in advance as there aren’t many tables, and 80% of the tables were already reserved.
