La Dolce Vita in Renfrewshire

We have been visiting La Dolce Vita since we were a lot younger but hadn't visited in a few years. Went tonight for dinner and the place is still as good as it always has been. Really fresh, tasty, wholesome food. Portion sizes are fantastic. Lovely and clean and friendly staff.

We are here a few weeks ago, very small fun restaurant. The food was better than expected. Reasonably priced. Tomato bruschetta starter was really good, as was chicken and peppers pasta main. Great place, will be back. Large bottles of Italian beer.

Went based on other reviews as meant to be homely. The worst meal I’ve had since moving to Paisley. The pizza base was defiantly frozen as was the chicken on top and in pasta. The only plus side was the guy that served us. Zambretto and Genova will make this place close. Overpriced and really poor, cannot recommend at all which is unfortunate when you want small businesses to do well

First visit to this small Italian restaurant in Paisley and it will not be the last! Tiny inside, but homely. We had the pre-theatre menu at £15.95 for 2 courses and £19.95 for 3 courses. We both had the minestrone soup served with garlic bread which was delicious! Mains were Carbonara and and Arabiata which were served piping hot and accompanied with cheese garlic bread, portions were very generous and again, delicious. After polishing off a bottle of the house red, we ordered the tiramisu which was honestly divine!! Shame it was so quiet because this little gem deserves to be busy all the time. We will definitely be back soon!

Gave this place a visit as we had drove by a few times - and a few of our regular spots were fully booked for a last minute lunch. Was welcomed - waiter was lovely - just the one guy out on the floor and his service was really nice - checked up on us regularly and just generally friendly. However the food was really basic stuff - flavourless or cheap tasting - nice big portions - but both sauces for the rigatoni pasta and carbonara tasted like packet sauces. And both starts - funghi al forno and mozzarella and carroza were piping roasting hot but with no real flavour to them. Garlic bread was nice and chips were ok. There wasn’t much difference between the lunch deal - 2 courses for 14.95 - or starter and main for £17 seperate - so we just ordered off the normal menu - however for the quality of what you get it’s overpriced - and as I say the service was lovely and I always tip - however decided not to when I seen we had been charged £4 per pint of coke - which my partner heard the can of juice used for each get opened for. I really want wee independent places like this to do well, it had some character and the decor was a bit old fashioned - service was lovely - but considering we spent £43 on stuff I’m confident I could have made better in the house when our first choices are doing 2 courses for a tenner and much better quality, I wouldn’t return.

I went to La Dolce Vita which is a wee Italian restaurant in Paisley, all by myself to spend some of my time. I had warm welcome and got a table. Ordered Rigatoni ai Funghi although I am not sure how it’s gonna be but got few suggestions from ladies who are about to leave. Good interior, music Ok, they Served the dish in time with Parmesan cheese and can’t forget garlic bread as complimentary which I got. Totally loved the dish and had delightful dinner with the touch of rose wine. Recommended to satisfy our Italian tastebuds sometimes.

The food that we received was extremely tasteless, greasy, cold and the decor is too much/very tacky (though not a big issue). The toilet facilities were dirty and I found the place to be quite cold. It did not feel welcoming and the food was atrocious, won’t be visiting again, though I cannot fault the service. A thing I found interesting when searching the reviews was to see the replies that people were getting, very unpleasant and unprofessional. Needs a revamp and a food improvement. I felt horribly ill after eating. And owner claims it’s a fake review? I’m literally a student who came to eat when everywhere else was full, can’t accept criticism clearly, needs to say that I’m their competitor? No respect for that

First time visit to this restaurant and it wont be our last. My sons choice of venue for his birthday and it did not disappoint... small and intimate inside but nice and cosy, the portions were huge and the food was excellent, my son said it was the best mozzarella sticks he's ever tried. The service was also great, they brought out the birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday with us which was a nice touch. Would definitely recommend,

Was here last friday with my family ,was really busy staff is really friendly and service to we were made to feel very welcome . The place is spotless my kids loved there pizza and portion sizes were huge to much to eat so got to take our left overs away . Kids also loved there ice cream. Will def be back again. Think we have found our favourite place to eat now. X

I always forget this wee restaurant is here in Paisley. Went today for lunch and had the 2 course lunch menu. Food was lovely and the young gentleman serving us was polite and atten3tive. Will definitely be back.

Gorgeous little traditional Italian restaurant. I love the decor, it reminds me of Italy. Prices are very reasonable (£51 for a carafe of red wine, x2 soft drinks, x2 starters, x2 mains, x1 side - all of which were from the al a carte menu), service was great and the atmosphere was very cosy. I love that they light real candles on your table and I'll definitely be getting the tirimisu next time. It looked amazing.

Local Italian, great food, decent prices

This is a really lovely place to eat, the restaurant is really pretty, the service is terrific and the food was great, you get a LOT of food !! Its small and intimate, perfect for date night 😊

Unassuming, unpretentious, unbelievable quality and value. Other Paisley restaurants were full on a Saturday night, but this was surprisingly almost empty. Lasagne and carbonara were at least as good as restaurants charging considerably more. Deserves to be better known and patronised.

We were here for our 2nd year wedding anniversary today. It was a fantastic place to eat and we really enjoyed our dinner. The atmosphere was cool and the staff were very welcoming. We got a very good portion for our dinner and it was just perfectly cooked, it was so delicious . I am looking forward to go back next week again. Thank you for making our 2nd wedding anniversary an awesome one ❤

Walked by this place hundreds of times over the years and over looked it. Took my grandson in for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. We were a little early for opening time but the staff let us in anyway and took us straight to a table. While they were setting up they still sat us at a table and proceeded to serve our drinks while looking over our menu. I must say the meals were lovely and good size portions. We both enjoyed them. The staff was friendly and even interacted with us both. Even though we spent the best part of 2 hours there they made our dessert to go. I’ve been back since my first time and my experience hasn’t change from my first visit. I would highly recommend that whoever reads this should pop in and give this restaurant a try I’m sure you would enjoy it as much as I have. I have been back since with different company and they enjoyed it also.

We stopped for lunch and ate outside because the weather was good. The sandwiches are excellent, generously filled, and come with perfectly cooked chips and a tasty salad.

Another great visit to this excellent little restaurant in Paisley town centre. Just minutes from Gilmour Street Station. We ate from the ala carte menu and they also do a 2 or 3 course special. Fresh, delicious food in a good atmosphere. Highly recommended. The pizzas which we had today were superb. Staff extremely helpful as usual 10/10 again.

We visited La Dolce Vita for dinner ahead of meeting up with friends for a night out. It's a small beautiful restaurant, as though it's been lifted straight out of a small Italian town and put into Paisley - lovely ambience, quaint decor and attentive, friendly staff. The food was delicious - lovely bruschetta and hearty minestrone to start, generous portions for the mains - nice wine and good beer. More than anything, it's the staff who make it. Very friendly and attentive, it works so well in the small restaurant as you feel very at home. I would highly recommend this place and it's family/child friendly also. It was quiet when we arrived, early evening but the restaurant is small so I am not sure if it would be better to book a table if you plan to visit at a busier time.

I very much enjoyed my supper at La Dolce Vita last night. It is simple, unassuming, but effortlessly good. I ate calamari followed by lasagne and could not have found a better meal in this part of the world. The service was excellent, the restaurant intimate, the whole thing perfect.

Had a lovely meal here. Food was simple but superb. The chicken Milanese best ever!! Soup good too . Huge portions and great value for money. Good service and vino. The ambiance is pure Italia. Loved it will return

I don't normally leave reviews of any detail, however this place is the exception. I am fed up of pretentious, over priced, average (at best) food served at many restaurants.La Dolce Vita has been a very welcome exception. I turned up 40 minutes later than my booking time (due to Renfrewshire Cabs fault) half expecting on a Friday night to have our table taken by someone else. They had kept it for us - mind you they were surprisingly quiet. The house wine was pretty good. The food was outstanding. Minestrone soup couldn't have been better. Calamari of equal quality. We both had two chicken dishes as mains - both quite different but both absolutely lovely. Service and ambience was just what we needed after a weeks work. Looking forward to the next visit.

Nipped in for lunch with partner and chose the three courses for £8.95 and were not disappointed. I had the minestrone soup and partner the bruschetta both were excellent the mains were very good also, finished up with a large slice of apple pie and ice cream.The staff are very friendly and service great.Great value and drinks at reasonable prices and well worth a visit.Will definitely return.

Couldnt get a table at another local Italian restaurant we had been to before and loved so had a look about for an alternative and this was it. Loved it, very comfortable and food was delicious, very attentive staff in a very quaint little restaurant. Will def be back and would recommend it to anyone. This will be our number one choice from now on. Thank you.

It was a wet night when we arrived in Paisley, staying over for an early flight, when we stumbled on this lovely, quaint restaurant. The ambience was superb, the service first rate and the food just perfect. Such a find. Can recommend it thoroughly.

This place was exactly what we needed after 9 days of greasy food and sandwiches. Hearty veg soups, big bowls of risotto, kid sized pizzas, & the best flat Margherita pizza I've ever had. Small place but we loved it as did our wallet. Family of 4 are for 33£.

This quaint little restaurant has good, old-fashioned friendly service and home-made Minestrone. My ten year old loves the pasta dishes, but I can't seem to order anything but the Minestrone which comes with fresh bread and is enough for a meal!!! Very kid friendly, and nice for couples, too.

I called here totally on spec and so glad I did. I ordered garlic bread and spag bol. Eyes bigger than my belly as the portion sizes are ample to say the least. All cooked lovely and fresh and lovely and hot. I honestly don't think you will find better food or friendlier staff any were. You guys really need to try this place its a real gem.

Been here before a while back for a low level business dinner (wasn't disappointed) and 6 of us went back here in Dec 17 for a meal, again not disappointed. Service was great, food was good. Not expensive and it has a very informal relaxed atmosphere.

We visited quite late, realising it was about an hour before closing. The staff were very welcoming, and didn't make us feel hurried at all. The food and service were great, and we'd definitely go back.

Small intimate friendly dining experience

I cant believe last night was the first time I've been in La Dolce Vita. Our meal was fantastic - very tasty, reasonably priced and generous portions. I thought the service was fantastic too as the waiter was very attentive to us and also very amicable. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

Necesitaba algo para comer. Sólo encontré este lugar. Viernes por la noche en mayo. Pocos lugareños dentro. Tenía entrante y plato principal. Un montón de comida. Gran precio. Tuve la sopa. Porciones de buen tamaño. Gran personal muy buena relación calidad-precio. No esperes top aviso pero no precio de primera también. Volví el sábado Ev, no tantas para un ev el sábado. Plato diferente esta noche. Cerveza fría, esta vez principal y postre. En general, estuvimos muy contentos volvería el próximo año si tienen el tiempo. Ya he recomendado a mis amigos.

Queríamos algo para comer cerca del aeropuerto de Glasgow y encontré este lugar. Aparcamos en la calle, que es gratuito los sábados y los domingos. Teníamos dos comidas para adultos con entradas y 2 menús. Las porciones eran grandes y la comida era fresca y sabrosa. No podíamos terminar todo. Si alguna vez volvemos a el Aeropuerto de Glasgow, sin duda volveremos.

Quaint little restaurant, typical Italian 60s music and its own life size centurion! Food was very good and service too.

Went for dinner with family. Had calamari and olives with garlic bread. Mum had pizza Napoletana and was very good. My cousin had spaghetti bolognese and ate them all. Waiter very kind and polite. A bit expensive but food was good.

Llamó aquí en nuestra última noche en Paisley. Los aperitivos eran grandes y sabrosos como platos principales. El camarero era atento y servicial y a usted se le permite mezclar y combinar entre el 'Teatro Menu' y el menú principal. Sólo probamos el 'tri-Bella'? El vino, que era quaffable pero no puedo decir más en el menú de bebidas. Si yo estaba en ganancia paisley entonces daría este lugar otra oportunidad.

Visited La Dolce Vita for the first time and wasn't sure what to expect having read a mixture of previous reviews. Thankfully we were not disappointed. The staff were courteous and attentive. We ordered bruschetta and calamari for starters and both were tasty and good sized portions. We then followed up with two pasta dishes which were both very nice. We had a bottle of prosecco and two coffees to finish and were pleasantly surprised when the bill arrived and was less than £50. I would not hesitate to return and would recommend this intimate and authentic Italian gem.

Just home from a girlie night which we hoped would be great! Restaurant was empty! Speaks words as it is Christmas week!! Starters were ok.... just ordinary! I asked for the Chicken and Broccoli Pasta. It arrived with courgettes and peas instead of the said broccoli! It tasted ok but I did mention at the end of the meal and was advised the chef would be advised. Anything off the cost???? Nothing not even a sorry! Really nobody was impressed and also we think the house wine my have been watered down! Ordered a bottle next to get rid of the taste. Would we return? Absolutely not! Only went there because the wine bar along the road as full!!

Walked past this place for ages, never thought to try it,I wish I had. Great top quality food, well cooked and presented, friendly staff and the bill was a shocker when it arrived, I had been expecting it to have been about £20 more expensive. Two starters, two mains, half a carafe of wine and pint of Coke, total bill £33, great deal.

Second visit. Good food, friendly and efficient service and amazing prices (£14.50 for 2 courses - slightly cheaper if you eat earlier). The mozzarella sandwich was amazing as was their risotto (options of meat or seafood). Portions are huge! Will be back.

Visited this restaurant with a party of ten on Friday evening, excellent service and food. The waiter, Peter, was attentive and professional. the prices reasonable, the decor quirky but interesting. well worth a visit.

A small restaurant that served a perfectly adequate meal with friendly service - nearly gave it a 4 star, but not quite - would have been a 3.5 star if I had that option. Very close to the train station. I would return.

Visited this restaurant as a "pot luck" choice whilst making an overnight stop in Paisley on the way home from a week on Skye. It doesn't look much from the outside and the entrance area was very cluttered so we almost walked away. I'm so pleased we didn't as the place turned out to be a real treat. The actual dining room is really nice and cosy, only 5 tables so as a walk in we were lucky to get the last one. The menu is varied and my wife had a chicken & leek soup starter while I chose a ham, cheese & mushroom crepe. Both portions were huge, with a side salad and cheesy garlic bread with the crepe. The food was very hot, tasty and well cooked.We had a spaghetti puttanesca and a chicken ham & pea risotto mains. Again portions were large and the food cooked really well. A group on the next table said they come regularly but never have starters because of the big portions. That's probably good advice if you want dessert!Prices at the restaurant are very reasonable, including beer (bottled only) and wine.The waitress was lovely, friendly and helpful. We had plenty of time between courses and our experience was really enjoyable.I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants well presented rustic Italian food presented with a smile.

A group of us who were visiting Paisley came to this restaurant for a quick dinner before going out. Big mistake. I ordered a pizza, and although it was quick to arrive, it was already pretty cold and it was the most disgusting pizza I've ever tasted. It was chewy and the base was incredibly soggy. I could barely finish a slice before allowing the waiter to take my plate away.The manager had been told that I had hardly touched my pizza and when we went over to pay, I started getting interrogated as to why I did not eat it. I was so keen to get out of there so just paid the (relatively cheap) cost of the pizza and left. Felt sick for a while afterwards. There are much better Italian restaurants in Paisley and I would not recommend this one.

I brought my son here recently for an early dinner, I had the chicken pepe which came with garlic bread, potatoes and veg'. the veg' didn't look appealing but was fresh and tasty nonetheless, my boys pizza wasn't a traditional thin base but a deep one that tasted more like a chain pizza restaurant base that was a little disappointing. Friendly, swift service and a nice atmosphere marred only by a drunk guy (5PM) swearing away. I've been before and will go again.

Visited on a Friday night at 8.45 pm, not one customer in the place. And after eating I understand why. Food you only see on Ramsay's kitchen nightmares. Service was fine but the food has bombed since me last visit 3 years ago. On my next visit to Paisley I will dine somewhere else. A great shame.

A nice little restaurant. Not many frills and the food is relatively basic, but it's tasty and very reasonably priced. Always friendly too. Recommended.

The food is acceptable however we were seated at a table at the entrance area and not the main room of the restaurant. There was no ambience or atmosphere whatsoever. The restaurant needs to be tidied up and better presented to its customers. We had to ask for cutlery. We had to request ice to put in our wine as it was not properly chilled and the waiting staff were having some sort of disagreement about their respective roles.The prices are not top notch but not cheap either. I live in the locale but had never eaten here. I don't think i will again.

Aye here recently with family. I've been to Italy a few times so I have plenty of experience of eating Italian food in Italy. We had garlic bread but couldn't really taste the garlic. Pizza looked great but the base was a bit chewy. Perhaps the dough had been frozen then defrosted. The ragu sauce in the spag Bol was excellent. Better than what I've had in other local restaurants but the spaghetti was a little over cooked. Portion sizes were very good, perhaps a tad too much but you won't leave feeling hungry. Service was as good as you will ever get at any restaurant. The surroundings were typical of a genuine Italian restaurant I would say the food needs a wee bit tidying up. Price wise reasonable.

My husband and myself decided to go to Dolce Vita as hadn't been for a long time, it certainly will not be long before we return . I had forgotten how charming this restaurant was and still is. The staff were very friendly and attentive but not intrusive very knowledgeable about anything we asked could certainly not fault anything about the service it was first class. The food was outstanding portion sizes were huge the starters would have been enough for a main meal , our main meals were delicious my husband had risotto and I had the lasagne we could not finish our meals so our server Gillian boxed it for us to take home which was really nice. I went there with my girlfriend a week ago and everything was excellent, the service was fantastic and the food sublime! I must add the lasagne was the best ive ever had, real home made food, totally amazing. Will definetely be booking again this weekend. Well recommended!

Visited with my wife place was not busy we both ordered the lasagne but the waitress returned (without menu's) to say they had run out (19.30) on a Saturday night ! (must have had a busy afternoon). She then returned again to say they had 1 portion and would I like Spag Bol instead, The lasagne was fine but the Spag Bol was a little bland. My wife asked for a white wine (Chardonnay) again not available but that's understandable it is an Italian but when she asked for Savi as an alternative she ended up with a bottle of Pino (we had asked for a glass not a bottle) still she drank it to drown her sorrows. My main complaint was the very noisy child at an adjacent table the parents were just as bad they made no effort at all to consider the other diners. I have 4 grand-kids who would never have made such a din. Sorry guys we wont be back

Once inside seated you could be on Amalfi Coast,SorrentoCapri,Positano,food drink,ambiance great.Worth a visit .

We were heading out to the cinema and going for lunch before. We normally go to Cardosis but because it was the first Saturday in January it was closed. So thought we would try La Dolce Vita, was very impressed, the lunch menu was fantastic value and the food was great. Really cosy wee place can't believe I had never been before but definitely will be back.

After going to try another local wine bar/restaurant which turned out to not be serving meals, we opted for dolce vita and I'm glad we did. Food and service was lovely. Will definitely be back. A great Paisley restaurant

Dropped by for a meal with my fiance and family on a Tuesday night, food was top notch, 4 of us for 3 courses and drinks less than £90. The service was very attentive and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming from start to finish. Would definitely recommend, we'll be visiting again soon.
