Recommended by a friend, glad we took the opportunity and booked. In short, food is excellent, staff are lovely. We had the salsa and chips and patatas rancheras as starters with the chicken birria and baja fish tacos for main - and we couldn't quite finish it all, very good sized portions! We were served very quickly and the food was really good. Definitely ticks the box if you are in the mood for Mexican food!

Four of us came in for dinner one Saturday, we had booked and our table was ready and waiting - but it was so sticky!! Someone wiped it when we asked but they needed to put a bit of elbow into it, so it remained sticky… Food was delicious though not sure about value for money (one cauliflower floret per taco??) and service was pleasant but slow.

Having previously viewed the menu to look for vegan items. I wasn't convinced, but a friend had eaten here before and thought there was a good selection, so we popped in for lunch, Really disappointed that they don't offer vegan scheeze or sour cream, which for a modern Mexican restaurant in this day and age is a bit odd. The starter (£13) was edible, but not authentic...homemade refried beans bland and runny, guacamole just avocado with grated onion and cress on top (no coriander, spice or lime juice), but the shop bought tortilla chips tasted fine LOL. We were hungry so ate up. For mains we ordered cauliflower tacos (£10) and felt excited! My friend's cauliflower was cooked fine, mine was underdone in the middle. No real seasoning other than the sauce drizzle, so it all felt underwhelming. Whoever is in the kitchen could ramp up the flavours by showing some love and care to make the vegan options really tasty. Location is lovely, staff were friendly and attentive. Nice venue for cocktail with nibbles, but wouldn't recommend the vegan food.

This was a really excellent Mexican eaterie- and was always busy whenever I went but I walked past yesterday and noticed they have changed the menu to burgers and wraps.. why???😫 has it changed ownership?! There is already a Turkish place in heaton chapel for anyone wanting gyros .. we thought la Capilla in Stockport was an addition not instead of ? We loved la cantina also but can’t understand why the menu there has also been dumbed down 🙄 when I ate there recently the food was still nice but the choice of authentic Spanish food was ltd.

The sweet potato tacos were so disappointing ): wish they had more vegan options with cool ingredients like vegan chicken or meat. Wouldn’t to again as a veg person.

Great burrito - very spicy and full of meat and punchy salad. Good service and a decent pint / glass of wine. I'd go back. Stays open as long as there's a customer in there.

Really nice food great atmosphere!

We went to the new merged 113 restaurant (La Capilla, La Cantina and Roast) in Heaton moor. Very disappointing. The restaurant has lost its unique atmosphere. Music too loud. Food mediocre. Service average. Sadly would not recommend. (I went to both restaurants independently before and loved them, but I just don’t like their new merged restaurant).

Food was absolutely delicious, friendly service and a decent looking kids menu too for future reference. Will 100% be returning

Fab cocktails! Fab service ! But the only negative thing were the burritos they were extremely dry, hardly any salsa, lettuce, very tasteless. more rice than anything. If your going here I would opt for something else because the burritos may disappoint. From reading the previous reviews it looks like the recipe needs some thought. Hate giving negative reviews but the food needs improvement

After a little disagreement about where our table was after asking not to be near the toilet on the booking ( the table was exactly next to the toilet door ), we had some great food and cocktails. Nice friendly vibe and pretty good ceviche. Definitely worth a visit.

Do NOT recommend. Firstly, I want to make it clear that customer service is not an issue. In fact all staff were very lovely. We ordered, birra tacos, fish tacos, sweet potato tacos, potato, apple juice. I do not understand how this place has such high reviews! The fish tacos are a 2/10 , birra tacos were 6/10, sweet potato tacos 2/10, potatoes were the best thing on the table 9/10. Even the apple juice was a small portion. To say that the food is average is already a compliment. We could not finish any of the meals and paid £50.50 for all. Massive waste of money. Lovely food, great service. We had fish tacos and Beef Birrias, with tortilla chips with three dips. All were lovely. Would definitely return.

Not really what I expected, staff were fantastic, I ordered Burritos with melted cheese, I received 3, only 1 had cheese on, they were served with a gravy like sauce, which to me was tasteless, not just this restaurant but apply a service charge, now I don’t go to my local pub, order a beer at £4:50and get charged £4:85, 35p charge. ????, would I eat there again, unfortunately not.

The restaurant is nice and has a good atmosphere, but unfortunately the food is basic and expensive for what you get on your plate. I had a burrito which was mostly plain white rice and lettuce with beef, there are no extras such as beans / avocado / sauce that you would get elsewhere for the same price. Food comes at different times which can be awkward for the person sat without a meal. The service was good and the people who work there are friendly.

Good place to eat Mexican, although the portions are somewhat small, the guacamole is very good but scarce

We came here to try it, we love Mexican food. We booked online via the website. We arrived and were seated. First impression it’s a bright vibrant place with Mexican art work on the walls. It was a bit cold my husband kept his coat on the whole time. The menu is small and could maybe do with a little more explaining by the waiter. The dishes are small and maybe you need to order a few but this wasn’t relayed to us and there was a specials board which we didn’t know about until we were leaving and heard some other customers mention it. The food was tasty and hot, I only wish it had been explained about the dishes. The burrito came and it was just on a plate with nothing else. My taco was lovely but again needed a little something. Deserts were lovely well presented tasty. I do think for Mexican it was at the top end of the price range but it was pleasant and the atmosphere was nice albeit on the chilly side I’d say it’s a strong 9/10. Service was good. Wonderful place in Stockport. Lauren, my waitress was exceptional and perfect hide-away to find fabulous food and read and enjoy Stockport life wandering by.

Just visited first time with 2 mates, all the starters and mains were delicious, came out hot and quick, the churros weren’t the best but the staff happily offered to replace with another dessert or remove from the bill. Very impressed will be going back. We forgot to tip, sorry.

I would probably not revisit personally but I would still recommend others go try it. One experience on one day might not be typical and the food might be more to other's taste than mine. I had no problem with service as servers were friendly and speedy so I left a tip. Food and drinks came out fast. The food itself was very bland. The most flavoursome item turned out to be an inexpensive watermelon salad. I also had beef tacos (just pulled beef and chopped raw tomato) and a side of corn (dressed with crumbled soft cheese). I had to throw hot sauce all over those. There was just none of the zing and excitement and creativity that Mexican food should have. The biggest disappointment was my £9 cocktail. I don't have margaritas often but when I do I love it. What I got was warm, insipid and overly sweet. It actually crossed my mind that they might have given me something that had been left on the bar instead of a fresh drink. I did finish everything so have not left a really bad score. I think better understanding of flavour balance and a little more technique might improve both the food and the cocktails. I hope they do well tho as Stockport needs more places like this.

The food was bland and tasteless but the worst was the fish tacos. They look awful on the plate and smelt strange, we ate bits but had to leave it as we couldn't stomach it. It wasn't cheap either and for the amount of food you get its actually ridiculous! We had stomach ache not long after and we're both sick when we got home. I wanted to complain whilst we were there but we were that uncomfortable we paid and left. I have since sent a complaint to the management and actually requested a refund as I'm really not happy! Yet to have a response but we definitely will not be going back. *** to your response yes someone did email me saying management from the restaurant we ate at would be in touch but as of yet no one has, so I am yet to have a response from the correct management team, there only was one email on the website. ***** a week on and still no reply from management..... ****** 2 weeks and still no reply ******* a month has past still no response!!

The place is nice, the decoration and paintings are beautiful. The tables and the sauces that are on the tables are very good. We tried the beef tacos and it was good, we also had a pork burrito and this was quite dry and the white rice was very simple... it didn't even have beans... :( it was very basic and without much flavor. but the starters are really good. We were eating and having a few beers... and halfway through the second beer (we had already finished the meal) they told us that the table was reserved and they needed it... we didn't last more than an hour eating. They should say this before saying that they have tables available :)

We were going to eat somewhere else just over the road but we decided to call in on this New Mexican. The food was amazing, the tacos were lovely, we also had the cheese dip with tortillas, amazing!!! Wine great, not a bad price for everything we had. Service was fantastic, well worth a visit if you’re in Stockport market place.

Went to the new restaurant in Stockport market place last week and it was great. Staff were really friendly and there were vegan options. The restaurant filled up whilst we were there and that was on a Thursday eve, so it's obviously a popular place. We'll be back and will try a cocktail.

There are outside heaters, which were very welcome end of October, we'll make for the inside next time. Menu looks great, particularly impressed with the selection of drinks and cocktails and the fact there is actually Bermuda rum in the Dark & Stormy. Service was prompt and attentive. We had Tortilla chips with a delicious trio of salsas Chipotle black beans, which were scrumptious Smoky mushroom Tacos, very unusual, I liked them but a step too far for my daughter, who buried herself in Birria Tacos, which were excellent and she felt rivalled her favourite Don Taco's. In summary, we'll be back, definitely for Taco Tuesdays and after the sun is over the yard arm with serious intent for the cocktails.

I was looking forward to visiting this place for a while but unfortunately I wasn’t impressed. Drink wise I wanted something to warm me up but only tea available was black tea, no other options. I ordered beans burrito and honestly I couldn’t find any beans what I could find was the tortilla full of dried rice! Not impressed at all. Hence it was very expensive tortilla filled with rice, nothing more or less. Unfortunately I can’t recommend this place and would not be revisiting any time soon.

Beef Burria Taco, Pork Burrito, Corn /Feta (delish) and Patatas Ranchera and Guac/chips. All delish, staff friendly and nice atmosphere, hope to return again soon, highly recommend

Had some of my mateys come down to see me in my new home town of stocky p Heard good things about this lovely little Mexican zone. GET THE BEEF BIRRIA TACOS Honestly I thought the menu was expensive but these tacos were a gift from the gods, everything else we ordered was good food slightly overpriced for Stockport. I can’t not give it 5 stars becuase if how god damn good the beef birria tacos were. Go here get beef birria and nothing else.

Excellent food, would be nice to have a bit more of a variety, but what they do, they do extremely well. Good selection of drinks too, including frozen margaritas!!

Food looked good, although we left before having our meal as we noticed mice in the restaurant. Staff agreed to contact pest control, but it was very off putting, so we left.

This is an absolutely lovely little local restaurant. The food is delicious, though slightly on the expensive side. Would definitely return to here with family in the future as no restaurants similar locally.

Lovely brunch at the new La Capilla, sat outside in the glorious sunshine. Delicious breakfast burrito, great staff, very friendly and attentive.

Ate here for dinner as a family of four. Menu is limited but we found enough to choose. Portions are small and therefore overpriced. Burritos, incredibly bland, chain burritos tastier, the rice had no flavour at all. We are all finished after 45 minutes and £120 lighter, really couldn’t recommend.

Fabulous young staff where nothings too much bother. Good, convenient venue. The food was good too. I could taste spices rather than an explosion of various chilli bombs going off at the back of my throat. And when I say the staff were ‘lovely’, they absolutely were just that.

Great pork burritos,nice and filling with a spicy habenero. Feel like I've had botox but in a good way! Staff were very attentive and nothing too much trouble.

Everything about our visit was fab! Food arrived fast, hot and was delicious. Recommend the Baja Fish Tacos. Churros were an incredible end to the meal. Staff were great - quick and very friendly. Can’t recommend enough. We’ll be back very soon.

Visited La capilla at Blackshaws on a lunch time. Really different and a welcome addition to Stockport Market. Food was tasty. Staff very friendly and great service. I would say it was abit pricey but it would not put me off coning back to try different dishes. We shared a mix of small dishes.

Visited new stockport restaurant and enjoyed it very much. Nice ambiance and a great addition to the developing market area. Tasty food. In time maybe increasing the choice on menu would be good.

We visited La Capilla at Blackshaws last night. We popped in to ask if they had a table for 5 people around 7pm but they only had one for 8.30. Whilst we were debating it in the Market one of the staff took the trouble to find us to say one had just become available. The food was amazing! We had a selection of most dishes and it was hard to choose which was the best! The frozen Margarita was to die for, the place was heaving with a great atmosphere! And the staff were just fab and couldn’t do enough! One of the best meals out we’ve had in ages! Really can’t wait to go again but I’d definitely book next time as I think we got lucky last night and I’d hate to be disappointed!

My husband and I visited the new site on Stockport market place on 23.09.23 the food was very basic, my burrito was so plain, bland and unseasoned that I had to sit there with the salt pot seasoning every bite I had. The service was poor too felt very disorganised. We were disappointed and unhappy.

Great new location, staff were super friendly, and food came relatively quickly. But, I’m afraid to say (and I so wanted this place to be good because I want places like this to be a success) the food was a huge let down. We had four different types of tacos: courgette, sweet potato, beef, and pork. Sorry to say that they were all bland in flavour, lacked seasoning, and were dry. Tacos are supposed to be eye closingingly yummy and zingy. These were so disappointing and I couldn’t finish them. I really hope management take feedback like this and try to improve so that the business does well. But looking at previous reviews from 3 months ago that have said the same thing that doesn’t seem to be the case, which is a shame. Very happy to come and try again if the menu gets updated.

Food was "okay" personally for me there was not enough salt and flavors in the burrito. But sauce helped with that issue) Lime and tequila cheesecake was absolutely delicious, but coffee - probably the worst that I've tried. Friendly staff and good service

We had an early 6pm booking. Table for 6. 1st time and absolutely loved my burrito and constant flowing drinks as it was a late birthday meal. Staff are really friendly and engage with you, which makes for a great atmosphere.

Food was very nice, we had the beef and fish tacos with some small plates. It just needed a bit of salt on it for my tastes, but overall was very nice. Will be returning for sure!

Has unfortunetly gone UP in price and down in Tastiness since it initially opened. Have been 4-5 times and recently felt it was overpriced for slightly bland food. Also feel some of the dishes have gone from authentic to mexican style (old el paso comes to mind). Service has always been slow but with the decrease in quality and increase in price its probably being taken off the list of places I like to eat at.

Amazing food and even better service. Our server Rose was polite, welcoming and extremely helpful navigating through the menu, will 100% go back if the food and service would be the same!

Our favourite restaurant! Honestly so glad we followed @fatsameats when he recommended this gem… we constantly crave our la capillas fix now. The tacos are everything so much flavour I’m hoping they’re just as good when we go to Mexico lol the chips & dips are unreal and to finish we ALWAYS get churros with Dulce de leche unreal 3 courses & I can never get over how low the bill is for what we get. They sell Mexican themed cocktails/mock tails and beers. The vibe is so chilled and has a real authentic feel about it. Definitely our all round favourite and best Mexican we’ve ever had!

Visited La Capilla Tonight, early doors just to be sure to get a table outside. My partner and I try to go out every couple of months without the kids and I’m hard pushed to think of somewhere we had been as amazing, different and genuine as here. In usual fashion we ordered half the menu, Salt Cod Croquettes, Queso Fondidio(Dip), Corn Elotes, Beef Tacos and Beef Birria Tacos. We shared all but the Tacos, I had The Birria ones and I’m still drooling 🤤, genuinely blew my mind. Came with a gravy dip thing which would have been rude of me not to drink what was left. Couple of Corona and a cocktail later and we are set for a walk to Heaton Moor. Didn’t take any pictures of the food, the Tacos were half in my face before I realised these guys here deserve some paise. So you’re just going to have visit for your self. Well Done La Capilla and the Team, Well Done!

Always loved the evening menu but this time we tried the brunch for Father’s Day and it was just as amazing! My dad also said it was the best coffee he’d had in ages! Lovely, welcoming service and great outdoor area in the sun- would highly recommend.

Warm beer 😐 The Mexican special nuts were the worst thing I've ever ordered 😠 Main sauce on the menu not served with the dish 🫨 £14 on food and still hungry after 👿 Times are hard at the moment so I get the pricing but we've both left in a worse mood than we arrived in which is not how this thing is supposed to work. Soz. Main food was nice for what it was, albeit missing something. The tacos are good usually too. Otherwise 1*

La Capilla, is a great place to start a great night out,or for a lazy/boozy lunch on free weekend, very much a stylish place to eat and drink with friends. Special board is hidden away inside so nip in before you order, if dining outside. Not excessive but a little bit expensive when compared to Spanish tapas which is broadly similar to style of dining and is well serviced in the area. Kids and teenagers are not very well catered for as our 11 year old is a little fussy, but she enjoyed the beef burritos once we convinced her to try them 🙄. Finally If you want, need or must have dessert you may be disappointed here. The place is crying out for fresh simple cocktail inspired desserts like Mojito cheesecake or something authentic like dulce de leche, rum chata? (Ps there were no dessert menu offered, so if one is available my apologies). Overall was a good experience but could be amazing!

I don’t like writing poor reviews but I really hope this will be for the restaurant to improve . The place itself is great . We loved sitting outside ! The staff and drinks are really good - so that’s on positive side . On negative side - unfortunately the food was a let down for us :( it was quite far from authentic Mexican food we have tried in Mexico last year . The portions were good size but it was quite bland and it was missing all the amazing spices they use . Guacamole was a big disappointment. It definitely needs improving to make it more authentic and tasteful. Hopefully this can be done because the place has a great potential.

Local gem! Best Mexican in Manchester, fantastic food, perfect size menu, great vibes, great cocktails. We've been here a few times now and never disappoints. People travel far for Mexican food like this.

Was just passing and the bright exterior invited us in. Glad we did as the food was amazing, really authentic Mexican flavours and great value. Really enjoyed the watermelon salad and fish taco. Our server was also really friendly and attentive.

Ordered a chicken burrito and side of fries. Fries were great, however I asked if I could get some ketchup on the side, which they said they had non of. They offered a side of hot sauce instead which I said yes too, to find...

Very disappointing. Tasteless food, drowned in chillis. The chicken fajita burrito was tasteless and dry. The sweet potato tacos were over spiced. The dips that accompanied the tortilla chips were awful except for the guacamole and that starter was overpriced. When asked how our food was, we gave this feedback and were ignored by the staff. All they wanted was to take payment. Cocktails average. Will definitely not be returning, there are much better restaurants across the road.

La Capilla is an absolute gem in the Heatons. Fantastic quality and authentic, delicious Mexican food. Everything I have ever ordered here has been top notch. The brunch options at the weekend are brilliant too. Service is always friendly and attentive and the cocktails are quality as well. Highly recommended!
