Ordered baklava, 5 tiny little pieces was v expensive for the price. The waitress wasn't particularly friendly either 😕

Friendly service, gorgeous and cozy decor and yummy food. Also nice to sit outside with a coffee watching the hustle and bustle of Hyde Park

We tried the Babylonian Breakfast, which was quite good and came with a generous portion. The other breakfast option was the Turkish Breakfast, which was equally tasty and flavorful, just like the Babylonian. The menu is not extensive, but they seem to cook everything well and according to order. However, there was a slight delay before we received our bill, and some of the dishes ordered by previous customers were left out for a considerable amount of time. This affected the overall service experience, although the staff was polite and very sweet.

Have been there a couple of times and everything is 10/10, the food, the atmosphere and the welcoming staff. Recommend it for everyone

Came here for a quick lunch , have been here before so I know the sort of menu items that they have and got something that I really enjoyed. The shawarma wrap with chips was amazing, eat wrap has amazing sauce and chicken inside but the chips were amazing. The chips were crunchy on the outside and nice and fluffy on the inside, exactly what you want from chips. The nice add on of a salad was appreciated. The coffee was basic and as of expected.

Found this little gem last time I was in Leeds so had to go back to make sure it wasn't a fluke....the food was so good! And it didn't disappoint! Like a party in my mouth! Seriously underutilised. Loads of gluten free options, totally Halal and very reasonable. Staff were so attentive and friendly. Couldn't finish it all so went home with a takeaway. 🤷🏻‍♀️❤️🥰

I ordered the baklava and got 5 tiny pieces spread out on a huge plate and my friend ordered the crepe and ice cream, the crepe was one of those pre package kids snacks rolled up into a stick, it was stale and rock hard and the ice cream was freezer burnt. The hot chocolates we ordered were ready made powder sachets with water and tasted awful. I saw a member of kitchen staff walk out with food preparation gloves on and close the front door while picking something off the floor and walking back into the kitchen. The chairs were stained and scratched and the floor was dirty. I’m appalled and won’t be coming back.

This place is the best. Great service, great food. If you ever visit Leeds I would truly recommend this place as it has the best Mediterranean food of all time. Me and my family went for my mums birthday and we had the best time.

A great little place with welcoming staff. We were the only diners, maybe as we were having a very late lunch. Food came quickly and portions were nice and big. I had their speciality dish with lamb falling off the bone. Beautifully flavoured. Only improvement could have been the flatbread, which seemed like a bought tortilla wrap

Amazing! We got the Iraqi breakfast, falafel wrap, hummus. The iraqi breakfast was the best thing I’ve had in a long time. The ambience is lovely - vintage decor. Prices are reasonable. Very pleased.

Really nice breakfast & very good service!

Rough and ready with crude decor and a pricey menu for very average food. Service a little slow even when only three tables occupied. No bacon and items missing from the plate that were detailed on the menu and then when prompted the missing items arrive just as the meal is just about finished so not ideal.

I had a lovely time dining here for brunch. It has such a calm and serene vibe here and the waitress was so sweet and attentive. Halal food available here too which is always a plus! We ordered the English Breakfast & it was spot on, nothing to complain about here. They had loads of options on the menu so you’ll have plenty of choice. No parking onsite but we managed to find parking on the side roads. Amazing experience overall & if we’re ever back in Leeds, will definitely visit again. Thank you :)

Great place, drinks, food and service and atmosphere was always excellent. So sad that they went into administration. Apparently they are still open, someone told me they had closed. So that's great news and I will definitely be going back

lovely calm place to have a breakfast on a morning. the smoothies are pretty good and the top breakfast is definitely the Egyptian breakfast! the fava beans are super tasty

I haven't been to La Cafetiere Leeds for many years, but I went two weeks ago with my wife. This restaurant - cafe is an icon of the Hyde park corner in Leeds. They have moderate prices. Excellent food. Freshly made in an open kitchen (if you sit close you get the nice food smells and sound of cooking). Bathroom is downstairs, no disabled bathroom, but wheelchair access is possible to the dining area. Can pay by card or cash. They have a wide variety of hot and cold drinks. The best part was eating. I was sad to leave the beautiful atmosphere after we finished . I wanted to try their buzzing Turkish breakfast as in the picture, my wife chose their famous Falafel Wrap with chips (which is cheaper than the Falafel dish and equally fulfilling if you don't want the salad). I was hungry 😅, so we also ordered the Triple Platter with the delicious Halab Kubba with its delicious filling, crunchy fatoush salad and the Aubergine 🍆🍆 dip - Baba ganuj!. It did not take them long to get the food for us, all came together. My pictures 📸📸📸 tell the story and the taste was amazing. We ate as much as we could, and took with us half the Falafel Wrap for another day. I noticed that the Turkish breakfast was too dry, but the taste was still great. Unfortunately the waitress forgot to get us the tea with the food as I asked, but she was really fast to bring it over once I reminded her of that. Excellent service and very courteous staff. I was glad to leave some tip, which I think was little for the care we get. We paid £38 for all the food and drinks which is certainly not cheap, but moderate price. Ithink it is fair for the variety, the amount and the taste of the freshly made food. I will certainly try to go to La Cafetiere again, probably popping in when there is a discount. I have seen some discounts on their Instagram page especially in the afternoons and for students. I don't think these are daily. Get more food and pay less 😀.

Giving a two is very generous, this is only because the hostess at the till was polite and friendly. The food was horrible. Egg is not cooked yet burnt on the edges and the sausages were not cooked from the centre. Will not be visiting again

Lovely ambience. Place smelled and looked great. The waitress was super sweet and they gave me complimentary baklava which was delicious. The panani bread was great as well!

The place is nice. The food options are amazing. The staff is really friendly. I don’t eat spicy food and I had the falafel wrap and it was a little bit spicy, although it wasn’t written on the menu but the staff was so nice and they offered me complimentary sweets, and it was very good

Amazing staff, service and delicious food...

I am not sure where the negative reviewer went but it certainly was not here. Took cards, food was delicious and very fresh. Nothing frozen and cooked to order. Everything we had was delicious and full of flavour. Service was very friendly. I couldn't recommend this place more highly. Will be back next time I'm in Leeds.

Over priced. Very poor food. Definitely frozen. Steps steep downstairs..shared bathroom. Cash only. No disabled toilets. No pop. Wrong order. The best part was leaving. But my bank was sad. No kids menu. Sad.breakfast as seen in pic £8.50! I was hangry. If you pardon the pun. But onerall i should have gone with my first thought of kfc all stars. P.s i only said about the tolet downstairs because there was no disabled access as you pointed out we experienced your restaurant and when we went in the lady behind the till said it was cash only and we had to go to the nearest bank across the street i have other reviews online and all the places i have rated are true i said wrong order because they put stuff on our tabe when not bizzy 2 tables in max and put it on ours by accident when ours arrived we was missing one and i was compering to other places i have eaten before for the price the food was expensive in my opinion i was also including the drinks so the food might be 10-20 but i compere total and that includes drinks like i said no pop wich you should have when i asked you said you had about 5 years old cans and we are going away from them

Had a coffee after work the park run on Saturday morning. Staff is lovely. The cafe really takes tou to another place.

Visited in July and bought the English Breakfast set and Onion Rings to go. They were really good! I think the portions were really generous, I got a whole bowl of beans! The staff was also nice, it was evening but he was all smiles would very much recommend esp if you're looking for halal food!

You have not dined in Leeds unless you have been to La Cafetiere. The staff is phenomenally attentive without being over the top. The food is extremely delicious at affordable prices. It is a cosy oasis on Hyde Park Corner.

This is one of the nicest places I have ever visited in Leeds. I think the owner himself made my coffee and he really seemed to be in his element. He constantly had a smile on his face and was just a really lovely person. The coffee itself tasted really nice. I was disappointed that I couldn’t sit in as I was running late for work but I really hope I can go and eat there soon as the atmosphere was really cosy and welcoming.

I came yesterday with my friend group of 5, the restaurant was busy yet the staff still managed to serve us perfectly.I got the mixed grill and it did not disappoint the food was fresh and delicious, my friend that got the breakfast claimed its one of the best she has ever had. After our meal we had the “Qui ha ha” a la cafteria original smoothie and we all loved it. The atmosphere was beautiful, a true art piece. Overall this restaurant is a hidden gem, will definitely be back soon!!

Had Egyptian breakfast and a Cafeterie, good atmosphere, busy on the weekends so recommend heading in the weekdays. Friendly staff. Prices on the website have not been updated when I went so I recommend expecting to pay a little more that you expect.

Yesterday, my friend and I decided to have breakfast at La Cafetiere. We looked at Google before setting off and saw their Friday opening hours to be from 10AM-8PM. We arrived outside at approximately 10:15AM, yet the restaurant was closed. I rang their business number, yet there was no answer. I then decided to message the business on Instagram as there was no indication of any planned closure online nor on the restaurant window. The person replying on Instagram seemed uncertain of everything but told us to wait, and they'd "open at 11 I think". I usually love La Cafetiere, and they are the only halal full English spot locally, so I decided to wait with my friend in the nearby coffee shop. However, at 11AM, the restaurant was still not open. I messaged the restaurant again on Instagram and was told, "Apologies.. Staff on their way. They say max 10min. They will look after you well. Apologies for the delay". Staff finally managed to arrive just after 11:15AM. Once inside, I believe common courtesy from staff would entail apologising to customers who waited an hour for their unpunctual opening. However, the waitress was discourteous and unbothered. When asked why they'd opened so late, she retaliated with, "well I finished uni at 11, so I couldn't have been here before, could I?". Although I agreed with her predicament of teleporting, that is not my issue. The restaurant should not advertise as opening earlier if they cannot find staff to commit to the correct opening hours. My friend and I ordered the Royal Breakfasts and a pot of mint tea to share. The breakfasts were quite nice in terms of taste and portion sizes, as expected - to their usual standard. The mint tea, however, was absolutely disgusting. I do not recommend that at all. The breakfasts served are good, but the customer service I experienced on this occasion was abysmal. I could have overlooked the late opening if the waitress had been remotely polite, but her manner did not contribute to a pleasant experience. Although I have always loved La Cafetiere for an affordable breakfast now and then, I will not be returning.

LoveLy place to visit, friendly staff and delicious food. We’ve eaten evening meal and breakfast here both times have been fantastic. The range of international breakfasts is absolutely wonderful, I am spoilt for choice! Will go again! :-)

Try the "special mixed grill platter". Has a wide variety of foods included as can see in the photo attached. Genuinely, each item was sublime! Note they have a regular mixed grill platter and a "special" mixed grill platter. Definitely order the special. It is much better. The atmosphere is cute and cozy too and the waitressed are always friendly and smiley.

This restaurant is really nice and food is delicious. Nice to find a place where can serve different Middle Eastern breakfast and food. I just have one comment, in the Egyptian breakfast you write falafels instead of tammeya, we told u before when we were there that tammeya is the egyptian one, and falafel is in other cuisines. So when we ordered the Egyptian breakfast, the lady gave us the tammeya isntead of falafel as we request so many thanks to her. On the other hand, a couple of weeks ago, we went again and asked the same , to get the egyptian but with tammeya instead of falafel, the lady refused!!! We explained that egyptian falafel is the tammeya one that is made with broad bean not the one with chickpea! So please replace the falafel that sits in the egyptian breakfast description with tammeya. because if you want to refer to certain country’s cuisine u should name the things in their right way. So simply speaking, please correct the menu, Tammeya (which is made with broad beans) is Egyptian Falafel (which is made with chickpea) is arabic such as syrian or lebanese or palestinian or turkish or whatsoever Thanks

Undisputedly THE best brunch I’ve ever had. The mixed grill was beyond perfect, from the chicken, lamb & the very seldomly well-made at most places: the kebab! Initially I wanted to walk out, the place is claustrophobically small and seating intimately close to one another … however we decided to give it a try which turned to be worth it in the end.

Super nice place..very cosy...great food..note the toilet is downstairs and I did not spot any baby changing..

We had dinner at La Cafetière as a large, eclectic group yesterday (Tuesday 31 January). It was fantastic! Everyone in the group had a wonderful time. Lovely service, beautiful setting, and the food was sublime. Somehow, the menu catered to everyone's taste and all dietary needs were accommodated with ease. Highly recommended for a function - it's such a relaxed, wonderful place.

Amazing food. The quantity is large and worth the prize. The food tastes really good. The environment of the cafe is warm and nice. The staff, she was very friendly, fast, and efficient with customer handling.

The waitresses are so so lovely and helpful, the food is incredibly delicious and the shop is very cozy and welcoming! The prices are extremely fair, I would say that the food quality and portions exceeds the price asked, there are also many vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options that are also delicious! 100% recommend 🥰❤️

I wouldn’t recommend this place at all! I ordered two english breakfast’s along with 2 soft drinks. However, the waitress misinterpreted the ordered and thought we asked for two english teas. It’s not until we went up to the counter and asked how long the food was going to take for her to tell us the food order hadn’t been placed. I’m not sure how you can mess up an order with a note book and pen in hand. The order should have been reviewed at the table. We paid for our drinks and left. A total waste of time!!!

Woww what a beautiful place! we really enjoyed our time here, the staff were really attentive and helpful and the food was so delicious, we had the potato and mushroom soup and the mix grill! Would definitely recommend these dishes and the fresh minty lemon juice! For a sweet treat after dinner, I’d also recommend the baklava 10/10 👍

Welcome was nice and waitress was lovely and accommodating. Busy place, with good atmosphere. Abit cramped for space so early arrival is recommended. Food was lovely. Portions just right (although Halloumi starter could have been bigger). Lovely, moist, succulent chicken marinated in very tasty spices. Price is ok.

Such a beautiful cafe/ restaurant I bought my family here for my graduation and it was perfect, somthing for everyone on the menu! The all day breakfasts were by far the most popular, I would recommend the Egyptian! Great for dietary requirements and vegans! Had a really delicious mango smoothie too! The staff are incredibly kind and helpful and the owner treated us so well! The restaurant is really cosy with great art work, very cool and relaxing! A hidden gem and definitely one to check out! All of my family want to come back on their next visit! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
