La Brasserie at the Sofitel London Gatwick in Crawley

We enjoyed our meal here the night before we flew. Even though the hotel was extremely busy we were not squashed into tables too close together and had a very relaxing time with good food and great service. Bar staff were excellent.

I was delighted at the level of attentive service here by the staff, who I believe make the difference to a good dining experience to one that is poor. The attention to detail was second to none and the food quality was outstanding. If you are facing an exhaustive travel itinerary, this is one place I would recommend. I’d also like to point out a key member of staff who went above and beyond my expectations called Aslam. Very kind and attentive service for an exhausted traveler. It’s a lovely peaceful and tranquil environment despite being at the airport.

This restaurant no longer exists yet a Sofitel website lists three restaurants with only the Petit Reveur giving a menu; an outdated one for the Brasserie. We booked the Petit Reveur on the basis of what I read only to be given a different menu so we decamped to another restaurant. Poor website maintenance.

Business dinner for two, prior to flying out from Gatwick. Although restaurant could do with a freshen-up, there was a relaxed atmosphere, made all the more pleasant by our waiter 'Yogi'. He transformed what would normally be a relatively sterile airport experience into one which we were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The food was good and a good selection of wines, including some local vineyards. All-in-all, a pleasant experience, made better by some good staff.

Atrocious cuisine. Cold yet I over cooked reheated food. Service was ok although inexperienced. Waiter arriving with food but did know what it was. Main courses uneaten. Absolutely atrocious restaurant.

We had our evening meal here as were staying at the hotel. Fair choice of varied dishes. But as we had just came home from abroad we were pleased to see our old favourite fish and chips ! Haddock was large and panko breaded , served with French fries and tartare sauce ,lemon wedge and peas. Served nice and hot and well drained. Enjoyed our meal..would recommend.

Attended dinner for a small business meeting and we were all blown away with the quality and amount of food which the chef Sammy had prepared. This was topped off by the excellent service we received from our waiter Yogi, really fantastic!

Not great, supposedly a French influence Restaurant, but hardly any French wine on the wine list and fairly basic wines. The food quality was just okay, but nothing to write home about. I ordered the Bouillabaisse, there wasn’t much of it and at £29 I expected better. Overall, for £70 ahead including one glass of wine I expected better quality/experience,and I thought the room was a bit of a barn and quite soulless. you are probably better going to the Premier Inn next door, or somewhere else although I appreciate food will be more produced there. PS the name is now La petite Reveur.

We were staying just the one night before flying out to Spain for a long weekend. Food and service were excellent and particular thanks to server Deniz who was attentive and charming. Made it very special

At La Brasserie in the Sofitel London Gatwick Hotel, a mix-up with my hotel reservation led to a humorous situation. However, the timely intervention of a security staff member, followed by Malik's friendly assistance, turned the evening around. Malik's impeccable service continued throughout the evening, enhancing the already fantastic experience. The food at La Brasserie was both sophisticated and delicious, with each dish expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. Malik's attentiveness and recommendations truly made the evening memorable. Breakfast here was very good, great selection and quality. Service was excellent from the team. It's a nice area to have a relaxed breakfast.

Great start to the holiday …. relaxed and informal ….. Samim was great …. very good menu and highly recommend the pizzas and Caesar salad.

Fri 6th Oct 23 - Okay so we stayed next door at the Premier Inn next door and we fancied something special for dinner prior to our flight next day, we originally booked in next door which seemed a more casual dining but after speaking with that hotel manager we decided to go to the brasserie - this didn't disappoint staff attentive, food and service very good would recommend - thought the overall matched food and service, look forward to returning to this restaurant next time we are flying out.

We were staying at Premier Inn Gatwick north and it was packed. No chance of a table in the restaurant, so luckily we opted to go next door to the Sofitel Brasserie. What a great choice, it was calm, spacious and the food and wine were excellent. Service is top notch, we were seated by the charming Mr Muhammad Bilal and our waitress Nikita was attentive and delightful. Highly recommended to get away from the hustle and bustle.

The hotel is ok. Location obviously good for early flights from Gatwick. The “French” restaurant is woeful. Food was terrible. Service was equally bad.

Everything about our meal in La Brasserie was perfect. The location was elegant, the staff were attentive and charming, the food was delicious. We had two different appetizers (the pork cheek and the duck confit) and both were excellent. We both had the same entree, the bouillabaisse, which was not at all the traditional fish soup dish we expected, but rather a modern deconstructed version, still delicious and with greater eye appeal. Sadly, we were too full for dessert! Thank you Sofitel.

The brasserie bar is relaxed tranquil and the bar service is excellent, we did not eat in the brasserie but the food looked good. We decided to eat in the formal restaurant, we did not have a reservation but managed to get a table without a problem.

Even though the reviews were bad it was actually worse than expected. I would highly recommend eating before you arrive at the hotel. The staff were sweet but the food was bad and the wait times were even worse.

The service and staff are wonderful, the food is indelible. Smoked salmon sandwiches with lush, thick slices of oily salmon on bread slathered in margarine, spicy ndjua pizzas, with no spice and bases indistinguishable from chipboard. Just truly, truly awful food. Order a takeaway to be delivered!

I have stayed at the Sofitel many times and drunk in the La Brasserie bar every time i've visited. The bar itself is lovely but the night i was there, the service was unbelievable slow. The waiter did apologise but 20 minutes is too long...

My meal was very tasty and a good portion size. It was initially on the cool side but that was soon rectified by helpful staff. Kathleen was particularly helpful, especially as I have various food intolerances.

Had a red thai curry for 21 £, if was tasteless and even the rice werent cooked properly. The restaurant was really hot and loudy. In the end the charged of 12.5% for service, which were barely existing. Wouldn’t recommend anyone going there.

Staying at Sofitel and its restaurant is the perfect start to our holiday. Relaxing with delicious food and this year so well looked after by Andre. We always pre book and hope to return once this virus runs its course. Fingers crossed!

We ate here a couple of years ago and it has definitely improved. The staff are warm and welcoming. The food was very good and the chefs amuse bouche was delicious, parsnip and artichoke soup. Something I would never have ordered if on the menu...

We had just flown in, tired after a long day of travel, and having had a bad experience at another of the on site restaurants at the Sofitel, decided on La Brasserrie. Nice comfortable surroundings with a "Parisienne" vibe, helpful, friendly staff, efficient and professional....

We were staying the night at the Sofitel in LGW. We choose La Brasserie for dinner. We ordered the soup with pancetta and beans and the home smoked gressingham duck, pork rillette for starters followed by lamb and a beef fillet for the main courses. The food was excellent, and given that it is an airport hotel, the cuisine is of the highest standards. Our compliments to the Chef. Highly recommended.

The portions are generous and the food is beautifully presented and arrives promptly. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant is peaceful and quiet. A lovely start to the holiday.

The staff at the hotel very friendly and helpful which is something we really like about Sofotel hotels. We personally don't think the hotel at Gatwick is as nice as the Heathrow one mainly down to the restaurant choice. There is a polished french one, thai / chinese then two "cafe / bar ones that are actually in the hotel foyer! Whilst food ok, it would be nice to have a restaurant similar to the one at Heathrow that does both international and western food in a restaurant setting rather than a hotel foyer (which was really cold!). Re bedrooms, ask for one facing outside otherwise you face into the atrium so no natural light - I would upgrade if that is required. That said still my first choice at Gatwick and ideal as they have a walkway to the airport, good aircon and comfy beds!

It has become our habit to have dinner hear the night before flying and our latest visit did not dissapoint. The menu is as interesting as always and the food is well cooked nicely presented and served well. Not the cheapest in the area but good value for money given the location and convenience.

I was at the Hotel and try to have dinner there. Very samll menu choice and prices above average . For a Sopfitekl we expect something better .

We ate here before a Christmas break, and although I’ve eyed up the place on the many times we have stayed at the hotel this is the first time we have eaten here.

Dans le hall de l'hotel Sotifel, les tables ne sont pas trop serrées les unes contre les autres, le service est impeccable et la nourriture tout à fait correcte.

I always try to stop here when I have a long layover or overnight stay at the Sofitel, it is a great airport restaurant but more importantly actually a good restaurant I like to go to. Well executed French cuisine with flair. I started with the smoked trout, which was great (tasted like smoked salmon) and beautifully presented. For the main, I had the fillet with braised ox cheeks. The highlight was the ox cheeks, wish I had more. Also really enjoyed the beetroot mash. The fillet itself was okay but not exceptional. I also had a side of heirloom tomatoes, great variety of tomatoes though some were not perfectly ripe. Again, a nice and interesting meal, something you don’t expect this close to an airport.

We were staying at Gatwick as we had an early flight the next day so decide to visit this restaurant even though we were stating elsewhere.

We met with friends at this lovely lobby style lofty bar. Were seated in a super comfortable banquette style section. The server was knowledgeable. The martini was okay, bourbon cocktails okay and local bottled beer, excellent. Appreciated the nibbles.

We opted just for the one course option for £22. You can have two or three. Nice restaurant. Staff lovely. We went for signature dish of fish and chips. It is very well presented with vinegar pearls and lemon in a muslin cloth. Perhaps a little pricey. But was fresh and hot.

Brilliant service and food. Must book ahead to avoid disappointment. The sky bar is also good but you may want to stick with just the one drink as a bit pricey. Great start to the holiday though

I was staying the Bloc Hotel in the south terminal as had a very early departure from there the following morning. I did some reseach as wanted to have a good dining experience- not always possible at an airport ! As Sofitel is the premium brand of the Accor group, I thought they would be a good option. I was not disappointed. Stylish restaurant with professional and efficient staff. Menu is not huge but what they do , they do very well. A full a la carte menu is available and a 2 course set menu offer at just under £30. Excellent presentation. Only real downside was that the restaurant seemed to lack any atmosphere- in common with most restaurants at airport hotels ! Having said that - it is the best food available at the airport

I had been extremely excited to visit the main restaurant at the Crawley Sofitel.

We love the breakfast in this restaurant. It is self service but a great range of food and the staff are always professional.

My wife and I always stay overnight at our departure airport to avoid the worries of traffic delays on the day of the flight. We have stayed at the Sofitel at Gatwick three times and on each occasion have eaten at La Brasserie. It is an extremely busy restaurant but has great atmosphere and the food and service has always been excellent.

We shouldn’t have been surprised, but we were delighted by the excellent quality of the food. Truly delicious, innovative cooking, excellent service, and great ambiance. Approachable wine list. We have paid a lot more money in ‘smart places’ for nothing like this quality of experience.

Blown away by the standard of food at this place. Booked in on Friday night, and could not fault a thing. Staff were exceptional, service was warm and attentive and spot on and the food was out of this world! Fresh ingredients, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. It was the attention to detail that was stunning too. Little mushrooms beautifully pickled, amazing hand made cheese crackers as an addition to one of the dishes...the list is endless. We chose crab and duck for starters and quail and pork belly for main, the crackling was to die for. Melt in your mouth divine, all of it , what more can I say. Thank you, all of you for such an exceptional night.

Whilst price is never the best measure for a restaurant quality, this visit was a bit disappointing. There was nothing specific that you could point at but service a bit hit and miss throughout the meal. The quail was slightly overcooked and dry, smoked duck starter a bit bland although the crab and prawn starter very good. Two courses for £29.95 per head is a bit steep especially as many dishes had price supplements. Wines by the glass also on the expensive side.

This restaurant is in the Sofitel North Terminal Gatwick and is classical eating in comfort white table cloths and " silver service " style . The food was excellent , but let down by staff who didn't have sufficient knowledge of what the dishes . We started with Aranchini , which were garlic and mushroom flavoured risotto rice balls breadcrumbed & fried . The waitress was not able to tells us what they consisted of and only the head waitress knew that they were rice . Still very tasty . I had veal cheek and a tender piece of veal steak in a rich wine sauce with vegetables , beautifully presented . My wife had chicken legs perfectly cooked .she had a selection of cheeses to follow and again we had to ask what types of cheese , waitress went away to find out . I had a selection of sorbets , which were good .

The breakfast at the hotel served in the Brasserie is great. Good selection at the buffet as well as a menu to order from too. There is also cereal choices, pastries and nice juices. The staff were all very good too.

This outlet is on the same level as the Sofitel foyer. Our flight was delayed on return from Turin, and we wanted something to eat after 11 p.m. We had vouchers from the hotel for complimentary drinks, which we wanted to use. Although the restaurant had closed, the waitress offered to get us some bread and butter. This was accompanied by cheese – two varieties – and some gingerbread cake. When we asked for the bill, we were told there was no charge! We shall certainly return there, although we don’t expect free food next time!

I have been coming to this wonderful hotel many years. When I arrive back into UK I do look forward to a full English Breakfast. I am shown to my seat by the delightful Madalina Stan before meeting our breakfast chef eagerly setting out such a eclectic choice. Very well done to you all.

Staying at The Sofitel over night for a far too early flight the next morning. The Brasserie is surprisingly good. The is an interesting menu, a fair choice of wines and the quality of the food was above expectation for a airport hotel. I should also point out that the staff were charming and the service quick. Although I remain tempted by the other restaurant Vanda as I love oriental food, I think the food at the Brasserie is better

On the evening that we visited, the food was OK. Some of it was actually quite good, but the whole experience was badly let down by truly terrible service. A member of staff admitted to us that, apart from the Maitre d', who had been there for 15+ years, and one senior waitress who had been there for 3 weeks, no other member of waiting staff had been in post for more than 3 days at the time of our visit. Unfortunately it showed.

We enjoyed a great breakfast, which was served already at 5.30am. Warm dishes available at 6.30. Coffee was fresh and fruits juicy :)

Tuesday 18th June 2019. Family of 5. Excellent food, but the restaurant lacks ambience...probs not an issue at an airport restaurant though. Seats too low for table; it's a mixture of furniture here, not all of which goes together that well. Good friendly service. Pork belly main was fabulous with a rich calvados sauce. After dinner we checked in our 4 suitcases for flight the following morning on EasyJet - that's worth doing, and although I did worry about it all 4 suitcases and cases turned up at Kefalonia airport the next day! So all in all worthwhile.

After landing from a long haul flight it was a joy to have our breakfast here before the drive home. Very busy but so efficient. Food very good and service excellent,

Only stayed here one night. Had a mixed green salad, it was very good -- fresh, and in the morning the breakfast was good too, except for the hot food, was a bit on the dry side for being there too long.

The quality of the food was higher than we expected. The flavours were noticeably excellent along with the presentation. Service is great.

The standard menu has a good range of dishes and all of us (7 people) were happy with their choices. The price is also reasonable.

We normally end up eating there as it's really convenient. The staff are also really helpful and the food is absolutely fine. There aren't that many choices for the main courses but it's good food nonetheless.

Meeting a friend who was going on holiday the restaurant was largely chosen by its name. Personally the menu didn’t reflect the brassiere type menu I was expecting. However the food was really good. Two of us had a Sea Bass ‘special ‘ as our main course which was delicious and the cheese board is thoroughly recommended. Service was pleasant, speedy, if anything slightly too speedy. All in all it exceeded the usual rather disappointing meals one often finds in airport hotels. Would certainly visit again if the occasion arose.
