La Boheme in Warrington

Excellent and inventive french fusion restaurant. Quite a find in this lovely town. Everything about the meals was exceptional and presentation superb. All tastes from the fresh bread, the two amuse bouche, starters, sorbet palate cleanser! and mains and desserts... wow!

Need to book well in advance for weekends. Very nice hors d'oevres with drinks but cocktails limited. Ate in pleasant surrounds with good atmosphere. First 2 courses good without being exceptional, scallops followed by a fish dish for myself. A French desert special, bread and butter pudding, was a big disappointment such that I could not eat it and so stodgy as to be inedible in my view. Overall a pleasant family evening slightly let down by food given the reputation held by this restaurant.

This place never disappoints. I've been coming here for years, the food is always excellent and not over priced for the quality.

Food is absolutely excellent, along with very friendly service, I would highly recommend and be a regular diner from now on.

Nice cosy atmosphere,the blonde haired lady who greeted us was very warm and welcoming and the other staff were also very nice but that lady in particular deserves a mention. Food was wonderful King Scallops were so good I could have eaten another serving,Dutch pancake pleasant and a nice flavour. Venison cooked well with lovely sauce and the venison suet filled portion was one of the nicest things i've had in a while,A recommended lamb in puff pastry was tasty my other half said. Finished with coffee with delicious chocolates and Treacle Tart and ice cream which was nice and not too sweet. Canapes are a nice touch to get you in the mood for your main courses. Will be back again to try the items on the menu we didn't have.

Met up with a friend for a catch-up after a break of over 12 months for a lunch between Xmas and New Year. The restaurant was busy and buzzing, an excellent festive atmosphere. Beautifully decorated for the season. The tables where beatuifully set out with crisp white table cloths, gleaming silver cutlery and polished glasses (a rarity these days). The restaurant presents an extensive menu and wine list. The meal and the wine was everything we expected and superbly presented, nothing disappointed. A special mention to all the staff, they worked their socks off. In spite of being so busy the service was excellent and always attentive. Thank you for a marvellous time.

Wonderful restaurant! The food and service is to a very high standard. Our group of five went between Xmas and New Year and we chose the early bird Friday set menu but the choice was huge and varied, every one of our meals was delicious and beautifully presented. I could not find one fault and look forward to another visit when I am next back in the UK.

My retirement meal with 4 colleagues was a little marred by us being shoved into a side, curtained off area. I’d sold my French boss on the atmosphere, sadly this didn’t pan out due to being bunched in this other area. And I’m sure that the spend on the night was quite high!

On arrival for lunch our entire party were delighted at the friendly welcome we all received from the very professional staff which continued throughout the service of our meal. The menu remains excellent and the presentation and quality of the food is just a joy. It’s been a while since our last visit to this restaurant but we were certainly not disappointed and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

A special occasion treat. Beautiful food, excellent menu choice.

Another excellent visit to La Boheme. This time was for a company presentation evening for 30 colleagues. Communication on booking is always easy, the restaurant were able to accommodate me changing dates. Service is attentive yet subtle. I provided a pre-order and on arrival was told the food would be ready whenever our presentations were finished - a flexibility I very much appreciated. The food was delicious and of a very high standard (as usual). Everybody commented to me later how enjoyable the evening was, and how fantastic the food was. When my own children (12 and 8) found out I was going to La Boheme for my dinner they were very jealous! We have booked as a family for New Years Day. Thank you once again to all the staff at La Boheme.

We arrived at 1pm and had a warm welcome. The menu is huge and varied. After ordering we were given a nice piece of bread. The starters arrived, I had ordered the scollops and my wife for the kidneys. Both dishes were excellent and not to large. If I am to be hyper critical, the scollops could have had a little less salt. For mains I had the veal and my wife the rabbit. I was surprised over the amount of meat served with the veal dish - they definitely have not reduced the amount of the expensive ingredients to save on costs. Again two very nice, well presented and well tasting dishes. Again, If I am to be hyper critical, a bit less salt in the veal dish and a little less salad on the rabbit dish. I Ordered a crepe Suzette for desert and it was delicious with the espresso. I would have preferred only one crepe, but then my appetitt is not what is used to be. The whole meal, including two glasses of wine and tip cost just shy of £90. I think that is great value for food, service and ambiance of the highest standard.

Seemingly a normal restaurant near Manchester, inconspicuous from the outside, but in fact a great restaurant with delicious French cuisine, a wonderful atmosphere and great service. I highly recommend it 😀

Just go and experience the food here it is really good. There's not much round here that can touch this place's food standards. The staff are lovely I'm happy I went and plan to go back again soon with friends.

Went for lunch today, big thank you to all staff who were very welcoming, kind and friendly, from the minute I rang to book with a specific seating request to the end when we were leaving. Haven't been for a good few years but was even nicer than I remember, the same high standards of hospitality and attention to detail both with the food and service. Very busy for an Autumnal lunchtime so they clearly know how to please and retain customers, very friendly atmosphere and all the other diners seemed very relaxed and happy too. We will absolutely be returning.

We have eaten here on a few occasions: the last time we ordered the chateaubriand medium rare, it came out medium. When we spoke to the waitress she said they had a French chef and they always over cook the steaks. You have to ask if the chef is French or English when you come in as this will depend on how your meat is cooked which seems really strange as there is nothing on the menu that says you have to ask this. We let it go and did not complain. We came again today for lunch. We ordered the prawn risotto which I ordered the last time and it was amazing. Today is was dry but again we let it go rather than complain and spoil the meal. My partner ordered the kidneys (pleural) however there was one kidney, again we let it go. We also ordered the duck profiterole. This came with a poached egg, however the egg was boiled not poached and over done so we sent it back. When this starter was replaced it was cold and the egg was raw in parts so un edible . When we told the waiter he apologised and we said the chef needs to learn how to cook an egg a very basic thing to cook. The chef who we now know is the owner came out of the kitchen and very unprofessionally said to us, “I need to go back to chef school to learn how to cook an egg”and laughed at us. Never have we seen such unprofessional behaviour from a chef and an owner of a restaurant. His behaviour was childish and unprofessional. We told the waitress we were not holy with him and she apologised but it was not her that should have apologised. He then served us dry pork which again had to be sent back. On both occasions I asked for the chef to come out and speak to us and we would explain what was wrong with his food, however we were told this would not happen. This was disappointing considering the chef had come out and made his sarcastic comment to us and retreated to his kitchen without us being able to speak to him. We eat out many days a week in many restaurants and have never been so disappointed with a meal and the chef. We watched others in the restaurant who also had over cooked eggs but for their own reasons did not bring it up. We will never go back to this restaurant which is a shame. It was very busy and I do not think the chef could deal with how busy it was. There was a full restaurant and a function on. Regardless if a chef cannot cope with a full restaurant then do not fill your restaurant and if you have to serve poor quality food and insult your customers when they complain, then shame on you and yes go back to school and learn how to cook an egg and a steak. Serve your food perfectly no matter how busy you are and treat your customers with respect we are paying for your service. This was our 5th visit and our last after today. If you were proud of the food you served today then shame on you. And the fact you wouldn’t come out and discuss with us is a shame, all you could do is be childish say your comment and rush off to your kitchen pathetic. Avoid this restaurant if you want great food continuously. Well done to the staff who have to work for this rude owner!

A very special evening, a friendly atmosphere and wonderful food. Perfect

I came across this restaurant while looking for potential venues for a date night. Thank you Google! Online booking system was easy to use, we received a confirmation email the next day. Lovely peaceful location (although easy to miss the car park which is behind the building if you're unfamiliar with the area). Staff were instantly friendly and attentive. They do an early bird menu on a Friday but we arrived at 6pm because we wanted to try the main menu. There is a bar area but we didn't explore it as our table was ready. We had 2 courses for £38, plus desserts and drinks. There's also an extensive veggie menu with vegan options which is cheaper than the main menu. There were lovely little touches - the amuse bouche, the selection of fresh breads with butter, the chocolates with after dinner coffee - and we enjoyed every mouthful of our meals. Between us we had the smoked salmon and egg and the trilogy of crab for starters, followed by the rabbit and the monkfish tail. For dessert we chose the almond tart - it came with figs instead of apricots - and the gateau stephanois. All the food was gorgeous and the tastes rekindled memories of happy French holidays in the Perigord and Haute Savoie regions of the country! The atmosphere was chilled and relaxed, with a mix of families, couples and even a solo diner who we noticed was treated very well by staff. By the time we'd finished our meal we knew we wanted to come back again, so we've booked another visit next month. We enjoyed every part of our meal, and are excited to return to this excellent find. We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at La Boheme, this weekend with our family. I was impressed by the quality of food, the attention to detail, as well as the excellent service provided by all members of staff. Many thanks to you all, for making this a memorable night. I strongly recommend this restaurant, to those who have yet to visit.

The flavours in every mouthful were a symphonic display of French culinary brilliance. Commencing with an amuse-bouche, a selection of delicious fresh baking accompanied the meal, and the second palate teaser, thoughtfully nestled between the starter and main course, seamlessly bridged the courses. Each dish evoked squeals of delight and intrigue as we endeavoured to identify and describe the intricate flavours dancing on our palates. The waiting staff were both attentive and abundant. La Boheme truly deserves a Michelin star. Given its popularity, I'd advise booking weeks, if not a couple of months, in advance.

Lovely lunch to celebrate our 30 TH wedding anniversary. Only slight disappointment when we sent the last bottle of red wine back as it was definitely off! Staff finally agreed (we’d already had one bottle of the same wine) but no apology or even a complimentary coffee. Otherwise very good.

Eating at La Boheme is like a whirlwind romance - thrilling at first, but eventually, you realize there's a bit of a language barrier. The food is decent, though it seems like the French flair got lost in translation. While the prices won't make your wallet faint, you might find yourself questioning the quality of ingredients. It's like they're trying to impress you with knockoff luxury goods! Now, don't get me started on the Valentine's Day debacle. I walked in expecting to be hit by Cupid's arrow in the form of roses, atmosphere, and romance. Instead, I got a plain room that looked like it had just seen a breakup and a salmon that had seen better days – or at least, better cooking. I tried to express my concerns, and the waitress reacted like I had questioned her life choices. To her credit, she knocked my dessert off the bill like a true diplomat, but somehow, the pricey salmon remained untouched, just like the French during tough negotiations. Oh, the irony of a French restaurant that lacks the passion it's supposed to serve on a plate! If you're looking for an experience that transports you to the heart of Paris, you might want to reconsider. It's as if their knowledge of France is limited to what they've seen in an episode of ‘Allo ‘Allo. Sure, I'll probably visit again – not because of the cuisine, but for the amusement of watching unsuspecting folks enjoy their "French escapade" in the heart of Lymm. Vive la confusion!

What a find! From the moment you walk in you notice the atmosphere, a little backing music but low enough so that dinner conversation is comfortable. The service is friendly and impeccable. The menu has so much I must have changed my mind 5 times! The food was the best I have tasted, absolutely delicious. The bill was very reasonable and dare I say much less than I was expecting. We will certainly be back ....... Fantastique!

Dinner for my wife’s birthday was excellent. Wonderful staff took care of us and treated us with great respect, like the old days of eating out. The food was fabulous. But make sure you leave room for desert. The taster desert was unbelievable and we polished it off despite being full to bursting. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

Large car park, check. Straight to table, check. Excellent service with free, between meal snacks, check. Food looked and tasted amazing. Check. Time for the bill, oh oh, they're going to pass the card machine, where it says 'LEAVE A TIP' and the waiter stares at you to intimidate you into tipping and I have to hold his stare whilst pressing no. Hate that. No, they didnt do it, just took the correct money and never begged. 5 stars in every way xxxxx

Absolutely gorgeous food. They have a very full French menu with lots of wonderful things to choose. Highly recommend the duck and dauphinoise potatoes. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere, very busy on Sunday so would recommend going midweek if able.

This was a new find for me, which is surprising as it's not that far away! I was very impressed with La Boheme, the food was excellent. The flavours, the presentation and the service time were all fantastic. The only aspect that knocks it down to 4 stars in the service is that we weren't offered more drinks. But other than that, I had a brilliant experience and will definitely be going back!

A fantastic faultless dinner for my dad’s 80th birthday. The quality of food, presentation and taste was exceptional and with an extensive menu, there is so much choice. This place is a hidden gem, just outside Lymm village and 20 minutes out of Manchester. I had scallops, lamb rump and crepe Suzette. This is old school fine dining. I also tasted the sirloin steak and sticky toffee pudding. The monkfish risotto looked lovely. The homemade breads, sorbet, canapés and chocolates were also fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and the service was impeccable. Probably the best dinner out I have eaten for a long time. We will definitely be back. Thank you.
