La Balena in Eilean Siar

Great restaurant. Amazing food, great service, brilliant atmosphere and simply a great experience all round. I had heard of a lot of locals going here and had tried to get in a couple of times but it had been fully booked so we decided to try again in January. The place was still busy and I can see why. I think we’ve found our new favourite place.

The service was amazing, the food fantastic too. The only down side to our experience was that we at the wall couldn't see the rest of my party and barely our food as blinded by the sun. Maybe investing in a roller blind would be beneficial as the table sat close to us also had the same issue. Apart from that I give the restaurant and brigade 100%

Lovely food and very helpful friendly staff. We first got a table for two in front off the open kitchen, but luckily we asked for a table to the back of the restaurant. The restaurant is nicely decorated but the lighting is very bright. The music is good but quiet, loud not what you would expect in an Italian restaurant where the food is excellent! So, one of the better restaurants of Stornoway that can only get better 😉

Lovely restaurant, fabulous menu, reasonable prices. Very busy, staff friendly. Wish we could have left a tip but their card machine doesn’t accept anything but the total cost of bill

A fantastic little find. Visiting Stornoway as part of a cruise and decided to look local. Excellent food and excellent service. Highly recommended.

This was the best restaurant I have visited in many a year! Difficult to know where to start with my praise! Ok, the terraced house surroundings is not great, but the minute we walked in that was forgotten. Wonderful surroundings, a perfect waiting area until our table was ready, at the time we booked, and from then on, all so very good! The waiting staff, the manager, the atmosphere, and the food - all so very good! The only reason we won’t return soon is that we’re visiting yachtsmen and will be off soon. The best carbonara I’ve tasted

Her hadde de en fantastisk god pizza, god service i tillegg ordentlig og god kaffe. Pizzabunnen var av skikkelig kvalitet. Vi var fem venner her, alle var kjempefornøyde med maten😊
