Kyle Chinese Take Away in Highland

We've had several carry out meals over the years and they'been excellent - very disappointing this time. Chicken stir-fry meal came with chicken mixture sitting on top of the rice. The chow mein sauce was "gloopy".

We were stopping local in an apartment called to place a order and was a very difficult experience was only ordering for 4 people but the gentleman on the end of the phone did not really speak very good English which is not ideal so had to repeat the order a good 6 times when we arrived to collect it was wrong so had to wait while the made the correct one. Food was ok did the job there is limited places to to get takeaway food so this makes this place fairly busy

The crab and sweet corn soup was pretty good, a little bland, the kungpao beef was pretty good as well. The prawn crackers were also quite good. But the chicken satay was so salty we couldn’t eat it. The chicken skewers were immersed in a gravy which was very very salty. Most chicken satay we’ve had is served with a peanut sauce on the side for dipping. This one is not.No peanut sauce at all.

2/9/22 - friday evening takeaway We three middle aged guys from London usually have a Friday curry or Chinese with friends at home in London. We had been arriving at various restaurants to no avail as all were fully booked or closed. We resigned ourselves to having a takeaway and eating in the car with a view hopefully. My friend had seen the only Chinese in town on GMaps and Arrived at 7:45 and ordered three mains, soup, a boiled and a fried rice. Most main courses with fish or king prawns in were £8.80. No competition here (much more expensive than our really good Chinese in Lewisham, SE London but we are central and not remote like here is. Whilst the food was being cooked I rearranged the chairs in our 2005 Fiat Multipla and we were leaving by 8pm, having paid £31, to find that view! We parked up at the 'Plock' at the top of Heathmount Place parking space (it was too late and windy to go to the picnic benches up the path). We unpacked the food, got out our wine and used our own cutlery (they provided plastic knives and forks but no chopsticks). The dishes were very hot and surprisingly good for the only Chinese in town with no competition. The seafood and vegetables in black bean sauce were very tasty, with squid, king prawns and mussels. The soup was good too. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy. My friend said his Thai Red Curry tasted nothing like anything Thai he had experienced so that was a disappointment. King Pho king prawn was ordered spices and was quite hot but not as spicy as ours in London, a pity. The fried rice was an extra 50p on top of plain rice price price but was worth it as the plain rice was a bit sticky. We finished the main courses and had some rice and soup left over for breakfast! We had not even touched our feed Prawn crackers. Overall this hidden local Chinese is worth the detour if all else has failed (as it does if you are not booking anywhere in advance).

Had a takeaway while on holiday, staff were really friendly, service was quick and the food was superb. All 3 of us had different dishes and loved them. The quality of the meat was outstanding. Only diced breast meat in my chicken with green pepper in sweet chilli sauce. Can’t recommend it enough. Prices included rice or chips

We called in advance and the food was cooked and ready when we arrived to collect . Most dishes tasted good . There was free rice with every main so we had lots of rice left over and they also provided free prawn crackers . The chicken dish was a bit tasteless and not as expected but other dishes were fine . Pricing was good .

We ordered the set meal for two…huge amount of food which gave us 2 meals. The food was good and it appears to be a busy place

However, the "chicken" if that is what it was, was disgusting. Poor quality pre formed caterers chicken, Id imagine also "pre cooked" each piece being exactly the same size and shape. It was vile. Overnight it had its effect. Stomach ache and discomfort. I wont repeat purchase and I would definitely NOT recommend.

I visited here twice in the last few days. Each time the food was top drawer. There is a huge range of options, it’s served quickly, the portions are large and it’s reasonably priced. No criticisms whatsoever.

Fab wee Chinese takeaway hidden of the main road in Kyle. Always friendly and food always great for what it is. Just wish they had a bigger selection of vegetarian dishes and had tofu!!!!! Everything always tastes great and always happy to return :)

Was directed to this wee gem of a place and was not discounted. Price was reasonable. Soup. BBQ spare ribs. King prawn curry fried rice. Just what we needed after a day touring Skye. The wee file behind the counter was lovely helped us with where to go on our day of having nothing to do. Thank you.

We order two noodle dishes one prawn and one veg, both were cooked and ready in under 10 mins which made me suspicious immediately. When we opened the food container the whole thing was full of noodles, without any sauce or veg or anything that would be considered 'oriental or thai' . It was a total waste of £20 and we went to bed hungry that night. Definitely wouldn't go her every again - a total rip off.

Fantastic meal, friendly service and happy to change pick up times. We had the set menu for 2 and the meal had distinctive flavours and great choice.

Great choice of dishes and delicious food. We had the set dinner B and enjoyed every element of it. Service was friendly and efficient. Everything was cooked well and was fresh and tasty. We would highly recommend!

We ordered food from here while we were visiting skye and weren’t expecting anything special from the outside. However, the salt and chilli chips were the best we’d ever tasted! Never been so impressed by a little local Chinese takeaway. We also ordered chicken fried rice and sweet & sour chicken balls which were also lovely. Absolutely AMAZING!

From the outside, it looks a pretty modest concern but don't be deceived! Inside, you are met by a really friendly woman, can pay by card and get a proper receipt (which is a rarity for Chinese Takeaways) and get very generous portions without too long to wait.As for the food itself, we had chicken and green pepper in a black bean sauce and sweet and sour chicken. Both dishes were as good as any we've had in our favourite takeaways.Definitely worth a visit in you're in the area.

We have been here 4 times now over the past year and the quality and consistency is amazing!! The salt and pepper chips are a must and the chicken balls and chow main were excellent! Friendly staff and quick service.

We got some great food, nice and spicy but still with flavour. We had excellent service and we all enjoyed our food.

One of the best Chinese take away meals I have had in a while. Food was still hot after driving back to Duirinish (where we were staying for the week). Perhaps slightly more expensive than most take away restaurants, but you get what you pay for. Would recommend!

We have had a take away 3 times from here and never disappointed. The food is of a good quality and the staff and chef are always friendly.After 25 min drive back to Letterfern all still hot.Keep up the good work hope to return again on our next visit.Dave & Janine

This chinese is as good as our local chinese in Glasgow, all the food was tasty hot and lots of it what more could you want.

Visited whilst staying in Plackton. Food cooked to order and a wide choice available though limited vegan/veg options if you need it. Reasonbly priced and staff were helpful and friendly. Takeaway only

Great food to be had at this carry out. Been here a couple of times, bought many different dishes (meat and veggie) NEVER disappointed. A MUST try if you're in nthe area

Visited this little gem and would recommend thoroughly. Well presented and well cooked. Very good portion size. I found it slightly cheaper than my home Chinese which was unexpected. Great to have a decent Chinese in the local area. 👍👍

This is a take-away shop not a restaurant. It was a nice enough Chinese take-away but I did not think the food was anything special. I would use it again as it is the only one in town and quite acceptable, but it would not be very difficult to offer better and this shop would struggle if faced with competition.

We were up in Kyle of Lochalsh for a night during a family holiday. After realising that the local chippy was actually closed and that the timings given online for it were wrong, we were back on the road looking for a good place to get some food. Fortunately, we stumbled upon this takeaway and we learnt not to judge a book by its cover! From the outside this place doesn't look like it could serve up a good Chinese, but we were so wrong. We got a variety of different dishes and brought it back to our guest house to enjoy every last bite. One of the best Chinese takeaways we've had!

After being in the highlands for a week we were getting a bit fed up of stodgy pub food and fancied a bit of take away badness. So after visiting Portree for the day we stopped in Kyle to grab a Chinese takeaway and boy was it a good idea. Usually when you're away from home takeaway food doesn't compare to back home however this time I would say it was better. The food here was great and up there with one of the best Chinese takeaways I have had in a long time. Everything was incredibly tasty and piping hot. We had an hours drive from Kyle to Loch ness and through we may need to reheat things however when we got back everything was still more than hot enough to eat straightaway.

Fantastic oriental food to take away..So much to choose from and excellent customer service. Would recommend this food outlet.

We stayed nearby in Drumbuie for seven nights. We ate at the restaurants in Plockton and wanted a change. This Takeaway was very good. From the outside is quite unassuming. But the food was very tasty and well cooked. We used it twice that week.
