Kwang Ho Take Away in Birmingham

Tried this takeaway on a recommendation and was not disappointed. Food very tasty and not too salty. Portions good.

I have used Kwang Ho for years and never had a bad meal, the food always comes hot and fresh , even the chips!. Have tried others now and then but not a patch on these. I live just outside of Bearwood and pay a little extra for delivery but well worth it. We have our usual a lot, but have tried lots of other dishes and just as tasty. The meal for one is great value and can feed 3. Give it try you won't be disappointed.

Take always can be hit and miss but our order has always come great. Usually order online, food comes in a good time and tastes great.

I quite regularly use this restaurant. I find it by far the best Chinese take away in the area.. I highly recommend the set meal for one. Then adding extras to it if neefed

When walking past with my young children the delivery driver from this place mounts the pavement and parks slab bang in the middle of the pavement. My family now have to either squeeze past parked cars or step onto the busy Hagley Road at 7pm. When I pointed out to the driver that he'd parked on a footpath I was told to 'F@€K OFF!' How this behaviour can be deemed acceptable is is beyond me

Chicken wings worst I’ve had from Any Chinese crispy shredded beef was rock hard I wasn’t impressed at all

ordered the chicken chow mien, the order came on time however, the chicken did not taste right. also the curry sauce and chips wasn’t nice as well. not ordering from here again.

honestly... portions were good, however the food was pretty bland. Everything tasted pretty much the same and bland wouldn’t order here again

Very nice food, chicken balls are excellent. Always hot food and plenty left for the following day.

Outstanding food and service...

Usually this Chinese is great but sadly this time I bit in to a chicken ball and was faced with leather texture chicken that my teeth could barely get through. It's also a shame that the 80p can of coke I ordered was part of a multipack too. Next time I'll buy my can of coke from Aldi for 21p less before hand.

The salt and pepper ribs had no flavor ... flavourless chip's which where hard, crispy beef tasted of coating and no meat and the chow mein was very greasy I used to order all the time but after this experience I will not be ordering from these again

Other food was all good. Sadly my order wasnt cooked through. 1st time i have had to complain the phone call wasnt the best or customer service.

EXTREMELY rude and aggressive delivery driver, claimed he’d called me 5 minutes previously and I’d told him that I wanted it to be delivered to the house next door (which obviously I didn’t do as I was hungry!) and was shouting at me on my door step and proceeded to thrust the food in my face before storming off. I was so shocked that I couldn’t respond and felt quite intimidated. WILL NOT be ordering again!

good portions well presented .duck in plum sauce excellent.chicken and cashew nuts bit on the sweet side for me its usually savoury .egg fried rice good .overall quite good

Delivery driver turned up at the door with a lit cigarette in his hand which was a bit strange. Food was good, the portion sizes were excellent! The quarter crispy duck was more than enough meat. The Cantonese sweet and sour was mildly flavoured, a bit bland for my preferences but well cooked and I'd prefer a tad bland to sickly sweet. Pork chow mein was great and the beef in oyster sauce was very tasty. Mushrooms were definitely not just standard button mushrooms. Egg fried rice was a bit mushy but perfectly fine. Delivery came 20 minutes early which was nice but no free extras like prawn crackers etc which given we spent nearly £30 was a bit disappointing.

The food appeared to have been on a hot-plate for some considerable time. The chips were dry and burnt, the food was completely tasteless and after using Kwang Hao a couple of times, we shall never waste our money there again.

Food was fantastic! Had enough left to take to work the next day!

awful! crispy seaweed covered in sugar, literally can see loads of sugar crystals on it. Never seen anything like it at Chinese! salt and chilli squid has got batter on it even tho it doesn’t state that on menu and I chose it because I can’t have gluten. main satay king prawns had no flavour and only like 5 prawns in it. vegetable stir fry was in peanuts sauce even though I specifically chose plain option. very disappointed, would like to have my money back as only barely tasted food.

Food was vile, no flavour. Stir fried mix veg was just a load of water chestnuts and bamboo shoots with two slices of carrots. Salt and pepper chicken had no salt and pepper, chicken wings was extremely dry. Chicken in satay sauce just tasted like peanut butter. The delivery driver was extremely rude, called to say delivery was here instead of actually knocking on the door “DELIVERY. YES. HERE. CHINESE.” He basically yelled down the phone and was very blunt, not sure why he didn’t just knock! When we opened the door he gave the food then proceeded to rummage in his pockets for change which he didn’t even have enough of. The only good thing was the delivery arrived earlier than expected. This is the first and LAST time we are ordering from here!

I can’t stop eating the crispy shredded chicken. Plentiful. Hot. Mixed starters are always a good choice.

I have had a delightful experience with this take-away today. Through some odd misunderstanding on my part, I managed to order a few items that contain meat (not explicitly specified in the menu) and when it was delivered, I realised I could not eat it because I am vegetarian. I instantly called to enquire about this and the misunderstanding was soon clarified. It was clear to the manager on the phone that I was left feeling disappointed and hungry from this ordeal. And suddenly, the delight struck like lightning. I was instantly offered an alternative meal which is vegetarian and it has been delivered to me almost immediately, absolutely free of charge. You've earnt a happy customer, that will no doubt return.

Disapointing always order from here, but tonight the chicken was so tuff and dry not fresh like it had been fried twice! Fed to the dogs!same with the chips not fresh,money wasted including delivery charge of £2.

Food was ok. The price has gone up so much... £2.00 for delivery and 50p service charge.

That awkward moment you find prawns (lots of them) in your sweet and sour chicken. I’m appalled, needless to say this will be my last time ordering from here.

Food is good generally but they now enforce a min £15.00 order value and delivery is £2.00 on top even though we are 2 mins drive away. Then you have to add 50p for a card fee. This all makes meals for 1 or 2 people very expensive in comparison. Unfortunately, it will make me look at alternative options for future orders.

Some of the chicken balls were just inedible. Used the worst meat The rice and chow mein was okay but way more greasy than normal

I’ve ordered from here for years and the food has always been great. However the past few months the food has been quite bland. I ordered recently hoping things may have changed but sadly they haven’t and I’m not likely to order from here again which is a shame.

The food is terrible. I ordered spicy Singaporean noodle and it’s not spicy at all.

disappointed with yuk sung. really runny and lacked flavour. always use these but seriously considering going else where not the first time we’ve had food with hardly any flavour. but that’s just my opinion.

Outstanding service and good portions, although the salt and pepper options were flavourless and not authentic salt&pepper style (I ordered salt&pepper fish, chicken & chips).The veg singapore vermicelli was delicious, however I shall stick to my main chinese takeaway in future.

The delivery was on time, the order was correct, but the food was really unpleasant. The chips were dried up and hard, as were the chicken balls in batter, almost like the food was either quite a bit over cooked or had sat for a long time drying out before being delivered. I have ordered from here lots of times and only really had one or two issues out of a lot of orders - missing item or incorrect sauces etc. However, today the meal was really unpleasant and I didn’t end up eating it. I never leave a feedback when it asks as I usually have nothing much either way to say. I usually rung if something is missing or incorrect but there was little point with this as I just went off wanting to eat it, so a fresh order would have been no good to me. The restaurant service is usually good, never really any issues and usually any notes are read and actioned.

Quite simply the best takeaway in Birmingham. The food from this establishment is the most authentic cantonese food that I have experienced outside of Hong Kong - I lived their for 7 years. It is the nearest you can get to decenty dai pai dong (street food) that I have experienced with the exception of 'The Peach Garden', next to the Legs eleven club. Prices are reasonable and the tastes are to die for. I recommend the 'Happy family' - Roast duck, king prawns, chicken, beef & BBQ pork with mixed vegetables cooked with garlic in delicious oyster sauce. I amnot affiliated with this restaurant in any way whatsoever. I have been living in Birmingham since 2004 and If I want a First Class Chinese takeaway, the New Kwang Hao is my 'go-to' option. Keep the quality up and the prices down - Peter

The food from here was alright, delivery turned up a good 25 mins late and the food was okay. Not brilliant, but nothing to write home about!

Great stuff, try the Kung Po Beef

I ordered Sweet & Sour Chicken Hong Kong Style, Crispy Seaweed and Chips. Everything was full of flavour and was perfect apart from the chips, they were over cooked and over salted.

Fresh and really tasty. Super quick delivery, too.

The beef curry was lovely and they did it for me without onions as requested. The egg fried rice was very nice and the chips were fab. However my partner was disappointed by the chicken curry as he feels it was chicken thigh meat not chicken breast. The delivery was early and the driver very polite.

Food was great. Ample portion sizes and hot. My only complaint is that the sweet and sour chicken needs a bit more sauce, there was hardly anything. Overall, I was satisfied and will be reordering from here again.

The food is nice but avoid the onion rings, they’re fried in a sweet batter and just taste wrong to me.

Great stuff, I'm always excited to find a decent chinese takeout. I would recommend the hot & sour soup and the Crispy Shredded Beef in Captial sauce.
