Kunming Chinese Takeaway in Forest of Dean

Need to up date the menu as price is gone up as it false information.. and would also be good if they sold soft drinks aswell

Regular order from here with no problem....ordered last night... absolutely revolting.... clearly taking the cheaper option...will never use again.....

Delivery times are disgusting why offer delivery options when you can’t for fill your promises avoid deliveries at all costs

Ordered food at 5pm when they open,waited over 3 hours for it to be delivered. Never again will I order from them

When we got back to our rented accommodation, we realised we had been given the wrong food- I am veggie and ordered vegetables in black bean sauce but was given chicken. My husband ordered duck which was really fatty- the rice was horrible. Completely inedible- AVOID!!!!!

Grabbed a takeaway whilst staying in self catered accommodation locally. The food was good but not the best I’ve tasted. We had sweet and sour chicken balls which were good, mushroom chow mien, which was okay but not amazing and salt and pepper ribs. The ribs were a disappointment. Tiny little things with hardly and meat and the “salt and pepper was distinctly lacking. What really got up my nose was the fact that they don’t take cards. The lady at the front desk gave me a half hearted sorry and really couldn’t have been bothered. In this day and age to not take cards is just annoying, and if there had been another Chinese nearby I’d have left. Sadly there wasn’t. Be warned. I get that it costs a tiny bit extra to take a card payment but just factor it in for goodness sake!

So why do ALL the Chinese takeaways in Lydney NEVER stay open to hours as publicised (Kunming is the worst)? Similarly none of them take card. WHY is that? Lol. Lastly the food is just OK from all of them (Kunming possibly the best) but they all drive Mercs!!! Disappointing service but when we've had a few shandies anything will do eh.

Partner prefers this Chinese to his own local Chinese he travels here specifically for Kunming take away from Coleford

We got a couple of meals which came to 33.00 My meal was sweet and sour chicken balls with boiled rice and pancake rolls. The rice was a solid, under cooked lump which went straight in the bin. The chicken balls and pancake rolls were greasy and the batter tasted like microwave reheats. I will never eat anything from here again.

Great food, always late. Can’t complain about the food but they’re routinely 20m+ late every time. It really lets them down!

Waited 2 hrs for delivery after being told 45 mins for food to turn up cold and driver say i have come straight from the shop! sent it back and will never order again (i had phoned shop at 1hr 30 of waiting and they said its out for delivery) Liars!!!!!

Had a home delivery to our holiday home in Blakeney and was very pleased. Lovely hot food , delivered within half an hour, reasonably priced, would recommend!

Food always tastes good and portion size is great. Delivery can be slow, so we collect instead, but good to have delivery as an option if needed

Looking for late night food after being at a wedding at clearwell castle. Don’t bother wouldn’t answer the phone at 00:30, so disappointing, no stars

Ordered food to be delivered, it arrived an hour late and the vegetarian meal arrived with prawns! We called them to ask for this to be corrected and they asked us to take the wrong option back ourselves! Definitely will not be using them again

Requested delivery, 45 minutes late, food was cold in places, did not taste like it should do, phoned back to complain and nothing done about it, not best pleased

Have had a few takeaways from here when visiting family locally, most recently last Saturday. Must admit that it was excellent service for delivery, hot and bang on time for a large order on a Saturday night. The food tasted a bit bland to me if honest, distinct lack of flavour. May well be they dont use as much, if any, MSG as I am used to but can only saw what i tasted! The singapore noodles were indeed nice and spicy but, as with all of the noodle dishes we had, they were stuck together and really 'claggy' like they were overboiled before frying. Spare ribs were very good on the other hand, cant fault it. Not my favourite in the area - there is NO WAY any Chinese in the Forest will beat the Satay Beef from the Lucky in Coleford that still reminds me of my youth there in the 80's but hey, can't have everything!

Took family here from Canada they loved it said it was best they have eaten was nice and warm reseptionest was happy and polite I would recommend this take away to all my friends

Food was lovely! Egg fried rice was stunning, Satay chicken was juicy and tasty! My old slight gripe was the salt and pepper chicken was slightly dry but still tasted delicious! Very fast delivery, was told an hour but turned up in 30 minutes! All over a very good Chinese

Would rather go hungry than order takeaway again at this place. Was told it would take 1 hour to deliver, had to keep ringing them to ask where my food was as it hadn't been delivered, they couldn't find the house and then they refused to deliver it so we had to go and collect it (by this point we were so hungry we decided to go and get the food). When we asked what discount would they provide for such terrible service, they offered £2 off an order that was £30. Would avoid at all costs.

What can I say? it's a chinese takeaway. We're still yet to find one with the wow factor, but I must say their chicken satay sticks, whilst the chicken is cooked well, the sauce is bloody awful (sorry if I'm not supposed to swear but it is), I can only describe it as almost like the cheapest peanut butter heated up.Hubby's Special Fried Rice wasn't too bad though, however the BBQ sauce didn't taste of BBQ sauce, only had three king prawns on top and not as much sliced meat as others have. Oh and peas they didn't put half a bag of frozen peas in the rice dish .What is it about the Chinese and their frozen peas? I'll never understand that. Do they even have frozen peas in authentic chinese cooking?

This is by far the best Chinese takeaway I have ever tasted and I have sampled a lot. Food tastes so fresh and large portions

I went here with my son when I was camping in the vicinity. The lad who was on the front desk was very pleasant.

Estábamos en el bosque y camping camping en calle brievals wye y conseguimos llevar en nuestra última noche. Personalmente no un gran fan de la comida china, pero mi marido y mis amigos son, bien tengo que decir que la comida era muy sabrosa y volvería a comer de nuevo. Fuimos a la tienda y pedimos que nos llevó unos 15 minutos para que nuestra comida sea cocinada.

Excellent takeaway with the added benefit of home delivery. Good selection of well cooked food. Can supply from off menu on certain things

Nos hemos mudado recientemente a esta zona y como tal, están intentando restaurantes diferentes, comida para llevar, etc. para averiguar si son buenos. Nos encanta la comida china y como tal, decidimos probar este restaurante para ver si podría convertirse en nuestro estándar chino en Lydney.

We always book our food early so they always keep to there times, food is always good quality and the staff are friendly.

Would always recommend it. Always delivered on time and always fresh food. Eat there at least once a week and have tried all the others in town but stick to here now

Chinese is average, great staff,great as they deliver. The food can be great at times. would use again but not my first choice. Overall happy

Parece que hay sólo una chica que habla inglés y que, cuando pedimos, nos dijo nuestra comida sin llegar a hora. Nos confirmó con ella que era definitivamente el caso ya que sin ir a otro sitio, pero ella nos dijo que sin duda llegar. Nos instalamos en nuestra noche y tuvimos un par de copas de vino, ya que sabíamos que woildnt van a salir. Más de una hora más tarde nos llama y nos dijeron que la comida sería entregado pronto ya que el conductor estaba en el camino. Media hora más tarde nada. Llamamos nuevamente y nos dijeron que venía pero estaban ocupados así que esperamos. 2 horas más tarde llamamos otra vez y después de esperar en el teléfono para las edades, que resultó ser de nuestra comida incluso podías ver que no se han preparado y sería otros 45 minutos como mínimo. Este era nuestro aniversario noche y no pudimos salir porque nuestro hijo estaba mal y tenía una terrible noche como consecuencia de su incompancy. La chica no sabía que hacer o decir y podía entender su jefe, así que no tenía sentido. estaba claro que estaban muchos pedidos y sentir que necesitan para descansar para cubrir. No había ningún esfuerzo para llamar a decirnos que estaban detrás y sólo una oferta de £2 cargo de entrega! En general, muy mal servicio y una muy mala actitud hacia sus clientes. No se os ocurra ir para entrega!
