During our stay breakfasts were served in the Kove restaurant. There is a good selection of cooked items, cereals and fruits available so you are unlikely to leave the table unsatisfied. I only have two reservations. The scrambled eggs were left in an open dish under hot lights, and so went dry quickly. It should be possible to place a cover over it to preserve the eggs for longer. Also the orange juice/ grapefruit juice had been so over diluted as to render it to little better than slightly flavoured water. I'm sure this can also easily be remedied

The food was well executed and was tasty. I felt that there could have been a little more variety. At 50 I was about 20 years younger than most of the other diners. It was a little pricey. I was there in February so it was dark. I suspect it would be a lovely setting when bright outside.

We are british eating at a restaurant in Britain and we felt antagonism against us. Breakfast was okay but if you don’t want British people at your restaurant just say!! You had the owners of 2 large businesses there to set up local units and we left feeling that our investment should go elsewhere.

We stayed at the hotel and decided to try the Kove restaurant which is part of the hotel. We definitely were not disappointed it was really busy lovely atmosphere. The menu was beautiful really had difficulty deciding what to choose there was so many lovely options. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and catered to our every need. I would say a lot of people not using the hotel come to this restaurant to eat and we will definitely be back.

Visited with a family group of 10, for a 20th wedding anniversary meal. We were sat on two tables, of six and four, which didnt really work for a family meal. We brought some champagne and asked multiple times for some glasses before they showed up, and the server went back and forth bring them in ones. We tried on several occasions to order drinks and were told the server could not take our order as there was a specfic server for drinks and they were bust at the moment but would come over when free. It took 30 mins to get drinks. When they arrived, there was a diet coke and regular coke and the server could not tell the difference so had to take the drinks back to check! We had the same debacle with drinks and getting a wine list through the night. Staff could not take our order and drinks server was busy. At several points the staff said they were new. We did complain to the restaurant manager about this, who initially explained that they had a system and had a server for drinks. This came across as quite officious and dismissive. Towards the end of the meal we ordered drinks, which 20 minutes later still had not arrived (restaurant almost empty at this point(. By this point my wife had paid the bill, and some of the people who had ordered drinks had left as they were elderly and had had enough. I asked manager to check that drinks were removed from bill and luckily we had not been charged as the mythical drinks server "had forgot to give the order to the bar"! The manager explained that the staff were new and that they were struggling. The food itself was very nice, and enjoyable, although the experience itself had been ruined by the service. The hotel is beautiful, in exquisite surroundings. I appreciate that there are staffing challenges, but the poor service throughout has really tainted our first trip here and means we will not be back, despite the other positives.

We, (my parents, husband and baby), had a lovely meal here. The food was excellent, portions were perfect for fine dining. They catered very well for myself (gluten free). All the party had varied dishes and throughly enjoyed them. They source the best quality ingredients and as a result they taste amazing. My father had informed them it was a special occasion when booking, my birthday, they arrived with a Happy Birthday dessert platter. So generous. We weren't expecting it. The staff are very friendly but also professional at the same time. We felt very relaxed and never once rushed. Our little baby absolutely loved all the attention, the staff were incredibly helpful. We have had some bad dining experiences recently in some of the top ten restaurants on Trip Advisor and I feel its mainly down to covid, new staff turnovers, staff running around like headless chickens and rushing us out of the restaurant but thankfully it was not the case here. After dinner we went for a walk down to the jetty and watched the boats go by. A stunning view and spectacular place. A must visit!!!

We got to eat in the kove as part of our overnight stay at the kilkyhevlin. Our 4 course meal was outstanding. The menu is limited but the food is magnificent and caters for all. The staff are all friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommend it. Last year we ate in the grill bar and it was also exceptional.

On arrival everything seemed to be going well. We were seated and given menus and then left waiting and waiting and waiting. When a server finally arrived at our table we were asked if we were ready to order. I asked if it was possible to see a wine list as we hadn't ordered drinks yet, she sighed and nodded at another server, but asked to take our food order in the meantime. She then reached over me and turned my food menu over and pointed out there's cocktails. The server took our drinks order, a glass of merlot and a soft drink for my partner. Next thing our food arrives at our table, but no drinks. We finally managed to get the attention of a server to ask about our drinks 10 minutes later. I was then brought a glass of rose. After getting this sorted by flagging down one of the many staff standing talking with their arms folded, our starters were lukewarm at best. No sooner had we finished eating our plates were taken and replaced with our main course in less than a minute. Not one person at this stage had asked if anything was ok or offered to replace empty glasses or remove dirty dishes from our table. On leaving we went to the front to pay and the man asked if everything was OK for us (a first of the evening) my partner told him of this. He replied with "I'm not really surprised, we are a bit short staffed" and proceeded to shove our bill at us. Absolutely disgraceful service.

Recently went here for dinner while on a short break to Enniskillen. Couldn't fault the hotel or restaurant at all. Once we arrived we were greeted in reception and asked to sanitize our hands and have our temps checked. All staff were wearing masks. From the restaurant there's a great view of the lake. The food was lovely with generous portion sizes. Good value for money too. The staff were friendly. Would definitely return.

We recently had an amazing dinner in Kove to celebrate a family birthday. We had a table for 5 and were well spaced from other diners, with great procedures in place in terms of sanitisers, screens, track and trace etc The food was amazing - my steak was one of the best I've ever had. Service was faultless, Carol attended to our every need and organised our birthday cake to be brought to the table after the meal. Thanks also to Jackie who took our booking and organised a table with a lakeside view for us. Can't wait until our next meal at Kove.

If i was only reviewing the food, i'd be giving 5*. The food is delicious. I genuinely can not fault any aspect of the food we had. The service on the other hand is below that of what I would expect from a 4 star Resort. Examples of this include a waitress walking up to the table and immediately putting her hands on my plate whilst asking "are you finished" despite the fact I still had the cutlery in my hands and was actively eating. Another minor example is not being served coffee and tea after ordering it, it was added to the bill but it was not served. I feel as if some of the waiting staff may have been pulled from elsewhere in the resort and may not have a lot of waiting experience. All that said, I would recommend this restaurant purely on the food, which i cannot fault.

I was not a guest at the Killyhevlin hotel but booked dinner a month in advance for my partner's birthday. On arrival it was not particularly busy, in hindsight this should have been a red flag. Our waitress left us standing for about 5 minutes while she wraped up her conversation with her colleague. before she acknowledged us. I had requested a window seat with views of the Lough similar to the photos on the site, instead we were seated by the fire exit with excellent views of the table I had requested. Our waitress, once she had us seated then proceeded to ignore us for another 50 minutes giving me ample time to ponder why I chose this resturant. During this time she had a 45 minute conversation with another table of guests at the resturant who she seemed to know. After being ignored by every other server at the resturant, who all seemed to be locked on a permanent loop of the resturant floor where they ignored most customers and focused on the space slightly above our heads, all while avoiding eye contact, I managed to get the attention of one of the younger waiters. After explaining we had been waiting quite a while he scampered away to pry our waitress from her banter, she must have insisted he take the order as he returned, hastily apologised, and took our order. I asked to speak to our waitress who returned and claimed that there was a mix up, although she had introduced herself as our waitress and said she would return to take our orders when we arrived. I brought this up with her and she eventually begrudgingly apologised and offered a drink for our troubles. From starter to main course to dessert. . . .no water poured, no wine poured, never asked if everything was ok or if we needed anything - basically a complete lack of service. She did not return to try and remedy the situation but passed the buck to one of the younger staff to step in and avoided our area of the room for the rest of the night, going as far as to leave the payment stand when we came to pay. The food was rather greasy and quite tasteless and the experience definitely wasnt helped by the shocking service. The one star is for the lovely young lady who brought my partner her dessert with a candle and sang happy birthday. This was truly the only highlight of an exceptionally awful meal.

Phoned ahead for our group of 12. Upon arrival no one seemed ready to seat us. Some of our group were followed into the washroom - staff poked her head around the corner and then retreated. No menus on table. Orders of mocha and hot chocolate came cold. Waited and waited for scones and muffins -and then staff sent us to pick up our own despite being told that someone would come to take orders. Traybake, muffins, and scones were just okay but on the dry side. Scenery was beautiful on the positive side of our visit.

Six of us were seated quickly & efficiently close to a window offering a beautiful view of Upper Lough Erne. Our drinks order was taken shortly later, & delivered to our table. We had a little longer to wait for the waitress to come for our menu order. Although we weren't in any hurry, five of our meals eventually arrived. Several minutes later the sixth meal still hadn't appeared, & one of our number had to go & see what was the delay, as waiting staff seemed thin on the ground. By the time she got her meal, the rest of us were almost finished. Our helpings were generous & meals tasty, but the occasion was spoiled by this lack of good service.

We recently had the opportunity to stay at the Killyhelvin Hotel on a midweek break , which included a 4 course meal in the Kove Resturant. On the night of our visit , it was very hot and humid weather but there was no air conditioning on, making the restaurant very uncomfortable to eat and sit in. My partner couldn’t complete his dessert course of his four course meal, as he was so uncomfortable that he had to leave the restaurant to sit outside to cool off! Also given the back wall of the restaurant is completely mirrored, there was a lot of reflected light from the restaurants bright lights, adding to the lack of comfort.Along with this , although we had booked our meal for 7.30 pm sitting, the staff were clearing up around us from 9 pm (even though the restaurant didn’t close until 9.30 pm on a Thursday) getting ready to set up for the next mornings breakfast! The food however was good , though they could have done with a few more staff , as the restaurant was very busy.Overall , given this is rated as a four star hotel , this was a disappointing dining experience.

Come on guys, you can do better than this!!!Food was pretty good. The flavor was there but details/presentation were. . . off. Ordered dirty martinis; they had no olives, no olive juice.Management, this 2-star review is for you. Please, for the sake of your hotel and your clientele, invest some training into your service staff! We sat for 20 mins with no water, no bread, no order placed. When the server came to take the order he TOLD my wife that he was only taking drink orders and he'd be back later for the food. I had to insist we were ready to order. He scampered away for a pen and paper. We made a minor substitution to the menu and that required 3 separate visits to "confirm". Food arrived and my wife requested fresh cracked pepper; the server brought the 22" pepper grinder back, placed it on the table. . . and walked away. Are we supposed to crack our own pepper here?Appetizer to main course to dessert. . . .no water poured, no wine poured, two visits the entire night (other than the meal confirmation) to take away the plates and switch courses. My wife and I served ourselves drinks all night. There aren't many options to dine around here, let's not make that an excuse for allowing service to perform at sub-par standards.

I was not a guest at the Killyhevlin hotel but stopped for a Sunday carvery lunch at Kove restaurant while in Enniskillen for the day. On arrival it was particularly busy as there was a wedding fair on. My two friends joined the queue for the carvery while I went to the bathroom. On my return several minutes later they appeared to have moved forward only one or two paces and the queue behind us had grown significantly. The rate at which food was being served can only be described as between dead slow and stop. There was one young lady and one young man behind the counter serving food however any time a customer required a hot dessert the man would attend to that leaving the woman serving on her own. At one point, they ran out of plates and therefore no food was being served at all for at least a couple of minutes, leaving the female standing there awkwardly apologising while someone else attempted to source plates. All credit to those staff members, they did appear to be trying their best but from joining the queue to receiving my food took around 15 minutes, possibly more like 20. When I went to the till to pay, I noticed that the lady there had a name badge which stated she was an assistant manager, Carol, so I decided to bring the situation to her attention and advise her that the two people serving food could do with a hand as the service was very slow. She advised me that there were four people serving food. As I had stood there waiting for at least 15 minutes I can be quite certain that there were not four people serving food, and in fact one glance over my shoulder to the food counter showed that there were not! My comments were immediately dismissed and ignored by the assistant manager, with not so much as an apology or even an acknowledgement for the slow service. I appreciate that it was a busy day which may account to some extent for the slow service however I would certainly expect a higher standard of customer service from an assistant manager, and indeed would expect more from the Killyhevlin in general.

Stayed overnight and went to the Kove restaurant for dinner. The service was a bit rushed, with the starter arriving very quickly and very little relaxing g time before the main course arrived. I had a starter of ham hock terrine which was over powered by the pickled veg and my wife had the crab bruschetta with over powered by the Mediterranean sauce. I had a sirloin for my main which came perfectly medium rare, but lacked caramelisation on the surface which made us feel it was souf vide and not grilled enough. Flavour good though, I just would have like the fat a bit crispy and a burnt surface. Good wine at a good price though. Overall I think evening was just missing the experience feel from the service, and the food was just missing a few balancing elements. Close to being good though. I should add, the staff were very nice and friendly.

My wife and I booked a stay here on the recommendation of friends following a renovation of the hotel. The hotel has been done to a high standard and we were very impressed having fond childhood memories and very much enjoyed sitting looking at the amazing views. As part of the package we had an 4 course evening meal in Kove which we were looking forward too. The starter was beautiful a lovely duck spring roll for myself and a smoked chicken salad for my wife, all very fresh and flavoursome. For a main my wife ordered cod with asparagus and crab risotto and poached egg and I had crispy pork belly. Things went very wrong here! Someone forgot the seasoning!! The fish was sooooo bland, the risotto was just sticky rice and had no asparagus or crab in it, the meal was left in its entirety. My pork belly was anything but crispy it was a soggy mess of gloop. So disappointed. I was advised to order an extra side of which I choose champ it was dry and bland. The vegetables (mashed carrot and swede and broccoli) would be better served in a care home they were so mushy! The saving grace of this meal was the staff. They were excellent. I was offered another meal the same or anything else from the menu - to which I declined as to be honest the mushy soggy gloopy pork had turned me. At the end of the evening without complaint the server had went out of her way to get a manager to come to us and apologise and compliment our drinks to which I had offered to pay for and they would not hear of. I was very impressed. A disappointment on the meal but handled with class. Hats off to Kove and the the Killyhevlin. Everyone can have a bad day.

We popped into the grill/bar on Sunday, we are a group of four from Buckinghamshire, my mum, a senior and a coeliac, my sister, husband and myself. We were in search of Sunday lunch but not really hungry enough for a full carvery. We opted instead for the soup and sandwich combo. The soup was delicious, hot and home made. Ditto the sandwichs, the bread was fresh, the filling was delicious. I had roast beef with a good slick of horseradish. The turkey and cranberry was moist and tasty. Went back tonight to the Kove for our final holiday night. My sister has just vomited and I have to say, i am going to try and develop amnesia and wipe tonight from my memory. I had a prawn and crab cocktail to start. Why would any chef cut up little bits of lemon and lime plus rind and mix them into a cocktail that someone is going to eat? The gauamole was unexpected but I thought I'd give it a go. The prawns were however inedible. As someone who loves to cook, I can't imagine what you could do to a prawn to give it both the texture of cotton wool and no discernible taste. I sent it back explaining that something was very wrong with the dish and asking the waitress to alert the chef. The response was a shrug and a look suggesting I should get a life. This dish was added to the bill, as was a side dish of garlic potatoes which we neither ordered nor ate. The coeliac soup was cold, not chilled, just tepid. Three of our group had steaks. The steaks were served on champ which was stained red from the unrested steaks. The champ was lumpy, didn't taste like it had met the butter. None of the food was seasoned, not the steaks or vegetables. Vegetables? Why oh why would any restaurant serve the following vegetables with steak and onion rings, carrot and swede mash/broccoli. On Sunday, we left a generous tip, obviously too generous as our waitress alerted us to having accidently left folding money on the table. We explained, that's for you. Tonight, we left no tip, and this from a group who always tip and who would rather curl up and die than skint waiting staff. However. I have never had a steak plonked in front of me and had to call back the waitress and ask for mustard. It is usual to clear the side plates after the first course. There is also the fact that charging a guest for a course sent back and for unordered sides sits with the waiting staff. We are not sure what made my sister ill, it may have been the food or it may have been something eaten earlier to be fair, but bottom line is, this meal was disappointing, the skill of the chef and waiting staff is not proportionate with the price charged. Shame on you, as the chef in the bar, as compared to the chef in the Kove, clearly knows how to deliver!

The restaurant has been recently been given a facelift and this has addded to the pleasure of the dining area to complement the superb food that the Kove has on offer.

I have now tried to book this restaurant twice in the Killyhevlin hotel and both times we were "bumped" into the main bar (in which they screen off an area so they can still charge you the restaurant prices but from which all the noise of the main bar can be heard). The first time I know I was the first name in the diary for this restaurant on the night in question and the second time there was a wedding taking place (which must have been booked way in advance). So, if you are trying to book the Kove restaurant specifically, I suggest you get it in writing. This type of customer service is despicable and I am ashamed to come across it in Enniskillen where I am really keen to see things well above average - if not excellent. Needless to say, I won't be back (the steak was inedible too and I still got charged but that was far from being my complaint on the night).

Our two night stay at the hotel included breakfast and an evening meal from the A La Carte menu. Firstly the decor is wonderful and modern, with ample daylight at breakfast and superb views to a more subtle and elegant lighting for evening dinner. The breakfast is buffet style and there is a choice of cheese, cold meats, yoghurts, pastries, croissants, toast and a pancake machine (which the kids loved). For cooked breakfast there is sausage, bacon, white and black pudding, fried and scrambled, mushroom and tomatoes and potato and soda bread. Plenty of food and excellent service. For dinner we had Brie, salmon terrine and kids had melon and garlic bread with cheese. For main we had poached fish and chicken supreme, whilst kids had carbonara and chicken tenders and chips. Dessert was apple crumble and custard and sticky toffee pudding. The food was absolutely amazing, well presented, tasted delicious and plenty of it. The service was first class and the chefs decorated a plate of cupcakes for my little daughters 5th birthday celebration. Again a faultless experience and definitely a must eat in restaurant!!

We stayed this week on 2nights deal which included 1 Evening Meal and breakfasts.Once again we couldn't find fault with the food and service. As usual the staff are friendly and efficient...there is just something very nice about the staff attitude ,both in the mornings and at night.Of course the food is important and we enjoyed all our meals. My wife and I were in New York in Oct 2016 and to be honest the food there especially the breakfast would be hard pressed to meet the Killyhevlin standards!!Keep up the good work!!If you are staying at the Killyhevlin don't miss out on some really good food, service and ambience at the Kove!!

My wife and I ate at Kove to celebrate our anniversary. It was an underwhelming experience. On entering we were seated in a very efficient and courteous manner, however this was probably the best service we experienced. We had ordered wine, the server simply abandoned it on our table without the offer of tasting or pouring. When I enquired about the starter I was met with a blank expression with server unable to explain the contents, her reply was 'sauce' which made no sense? The main course was very good which incidentally rescued a one or two star review. On finishing we then enquired about coffee which again was met with basically , you can have tea or coffee , it would appear that they do not serve a range (Americano, lattes, expresso) which I find hard to believe, instead we were given a choice of liquor coffee from the sweet menu (happy enough) , but when we ordered we were told gruffly that we would need to pay extra. While I am aware there is a set menu which includes tea or coffee, we were not eating from this menu and in a restaurant which attempts to raise the bar I would expect the service to be on par with the food and decor.....some training needed KHH.

We visited the Kove restaurant on 27th November for a family meal for 6 people. The restaurant itself has been well decorated & is very relaxing. The food was ok but not exceptional. We all had starters & mains, with 2 of us then having desert. Our mains were chicken, duck, steak with the usual trimmings. Nothing about the meal was outstanding, we could have been eating in any restaurant. Expensive for what it was, very underwhelming. Came home disappointed.

In spite of living nearby had not visited Killyhevlin for years but decided to try a new restaurant for a birthday meal. The new décor is lovely and the room had a warm ambience. The menu is interesting and varied and the food was good, although I felt the prices were high compared with comparable restaurants. The service was also pleasant but the shine was taken off the evening when staff began vigorously clearing the restaurant including folding tables and stacking chairs whilst we were still eating dessert. The waitress even tried to remove a cheese platter which we were still eating and was in fact, barely started. We ended up feeling as though we were being rushed out of the restaurant and did not even finish our final drinks! This was before 10pm on a Saturday night.... With a bill of around £200 for 4 people (not much of it alcohol), I felt that being made to feel uncomfortable less than 2 hours after our arrival was pretty unacceptable. If you want the restaurant empty and ready for the next day's service by 10pm, you shouldn't take bookings as late as 8pm! (we had requested a slightly earlier booking but had been offered a choice of 6.30 pm or 8pm).

We dined here late August and were very disappointed with our meals. This is a very large hotel with two main eateries - the Boathouse Grill and Kove Restaurant. We chose the latter. The Duet of Lamb was quite acceptable, but the Venison Shanks had obviously been sitting in a bain marie for a long time and was tough and inedible. There are better choices near Enniskillen.

Very frosty reception from Marion, shown to the only table with no view while plenty of others were available and we had booked in advance, the food order was taken before we were offered drinks and the staff seemed agitated that we didn't want a starter. They mixed up our steaks, giving me my wife's steak and her mine, the main course was average although the deserts were very good. The music was more suited to a disco than fine dining. For 3 adults and a child who received 2 courses each and 2 alcoholic drinks in total, £120 was extortionate. Don't waste your time here, go straight to Lough Erne Resort.

Absolutely average all round inc. Food, service & atmosphere. I was disapointed at how these great ingredients did not live up to their expectation and potential. It was very inconsistent. We ate in Kove as part of the deal on our stay.We were well looked after by very attentive waiting staff. It is easy to see these ladies are good at their jobs. My husband and I had the soup and our steaks were cooked to perfection. I specifically asked for no cream or ice cream with my sweet and my husband enjoyed a bowl of just plain ice cream. This is the usual request from ourselves and other places have insisted on jazzing up these options with other things but well done to Kove for giving us exactly what we asked for. My husband will definitely return as he was so pleased with his meal.

Sunday lunch at Becketts was a real treat. The food was excellent served by very friendy and welcoming staff. One of the best lunches weve had in ages. Beef and Yorkshire pudding was melt in the mouth. Vegetables cooked to perfection. My apple crumble was sensational. The 2nd time weve eaten in the Hotel it wont be the last. Give Becketts a try if you like real quality cooking served to perfection. Thank you to all the staff who helped my husband have a great birthday treat.
