The Black Cat Cove in Fermanagh

We are on a tour that stopped at the local Pottery place. We elected to go drinking instead. We sat in there for about 90 minutes and had a great chat with the bartender. Excellent place and atmosphere.

I didn't get the impression that they serve food but the staff and atmosphere were top notch. James and crew were a highlight of our Ireland trip. Memorable was an understatement. Definitely visit if you're looking for an authentic Irish pub where you feel at home with the locals.

I originally posted my review at the time of my visit but for some reason not all my reviews were visible on maps, as the issues with my account have been resolved I am reposting the missing reviews. The Black Cat Cove- Belleek - Saturday 26th November 2022 - 21:30. Entrance is on street level with a small step and doors are manual. Bridie and James are great hosts and always make us feel welcome. I’ve always found the bar staff to be polite and helpful. We always come here when we are out for a drink in Belleek. Tonight wasn’t to busy but they had live music and the atmosphere was great.

A dirty hole. Rubbish on the floor covered with a tissue which someone had swept into a corner was still there when we left. The waitress was so disinterested in her job. When she eventually took our order it was wrong and when we pointed it out she shrugged her shoulders. When I went to pay she was on her phone and didn't come off it until she was finished. We will never be back.

we ate here over the two nights we stayed at the Dulrush Fishing Lodge, it was recommended to us by the owners who own the pub but have leased out the kitchen. The food was spectacular, and i am hard to please, i ordered the beef which melted in your mouth and the desserts were so unique and to die for, cannot wait to return, very reasonably priced and fabulous a talented chef ive heard.

Absolutely delicious meal and good service

Unfortunately I can't say the Best this time of this place .I know there were Staff off sick with Covid and it is getting difficult to replace but the Staff were slow and I was told that the Kitchen was Closed when I wanted to order a Dessert at 915pm ... I also think that although the food was good I really do think that the Menu " Could be Brought On A Bit More " it is a bit Plain in my Opinion nothing to Catch your eye !!!

Great Bar . Good Food and welcoming staff Hard to find the holy trinity of Irish beers anywhere these days

Ist time in Ireland in 40 years made to feel very welcome by complete strangers would highly recommend it hopefully will be going back next year

Three of us dined here one night while travelling by boat. All three of us ordered different items and everyone was very happy with their meal. It is a traditional Irish pub. You won't get great views, but if you want a good meal then this is a nice find. The staff were friendly and efficient.

Me and my friend had a good time here last night. There was a late bar with a great atmosphere.

First time to eat here, nice friendly staff.We had the roast beef served with mash,Yorkshire pudding& veg & gravy.Really enjoyed our meals and good sized portions would recommend.We did not have starters or desserts.Will be back next time in lovely Belleek.

Probably the best Tuesday night I have spent in a while. This lovely family owned pub and restaurant is exactly as it should be….you’ll feel very welcome and well looked after. I had goats cheese to start which was delicious followed by the special of trout with white wine sauce and boxy style potatoes which was perfectly cooked. It was busy and had a lovely atmosphere, from locals, couples on staycation to visiting French fishing enthusiasts staying at Dulrush Fishing Lodge only a short taxi ride away. Well done 👏🏻

Great food, when we eventually got it. Dinners were set down with freezing cold potatoes and had to be sent back. The one thing about eating out that I hate is the staff reaching over your dinner to give some their dinner or drinks, this is all they did and one said "here, pass that to her for me", rude. No please or thank you. Roof leaks throughout the bar and eating area and the bathroom was disgusting, blood splattered on the wall and top of the loo ( looks like someone had a bad nose bleed and looked like it had been there a while) and the cubical itself was unhygienic. Thick bits of poo all over the loo brush. Had to ask 4 times for the bill and no smiles from staff.

We went here last night as a family of 9. To say we were disappointed is a understatement. We ordered starters i order tge chicken wings with the blue cheese dip. Starters came no dip so i got up to ask waitress for it she said no problem ill get that now.. Then came back to table and said 'we dont have that its a miss print on the menu' i was no offered an alternative sauce. Starters finished the main took about 30mins to come. Me and my sister got the special the chicken dinner with potatoes and veg. My sister said have you tried your potatoes... They were freezing and i mean freezing. They chicken was covered in some type of herb. They veg was boiled to near mush. Waitress said sorry ill get it changed we both decided to have chips instead as how long we had already waited. I had most of the chicken ate before the chips arrived. It was that slow i went to the bar to order desserts for the kids. We also asked for bill as we had all had enough at this stage. We asked for bill 3 time in the space of half hr. I will never be back. Not 1p took off the bill and bill was £126. Very very disappointing!!!!

What a lovely meal we all had on Tuesday evening 10th August. Nice welcome and the young girl who looked after us was very pleasant and attentive. My wife and daughter had the battered cod was said it was delicious as was my curry.Son in law had the burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. Children also enjoyed their meals and all plates returned clean. Will be back, oh and by the way the Guinness is great. Dave Berry, Drumbo, N. Ireland

Wow!!what can I say.we weren't epecting much from a small country pub but I ordered the steak at £23 and my partner ordered the steak sandwich special both were unreal, both dishes tasted the best we had in a while. being foodies this was a welcome surprise... Definitely pay it a visit.

Called in for a few on a motorhome stopover. Great Guinness & good white wine. Staff friendly. Would definitely call again and try food next time.

The pub itself was busy for a Monday night with mostly guests staying at Dulrush Fishing Lodge. It's a lovely quaint pub. The food was good with a good selection of dishes available. My friend had the duck with the orange glaze and I had a Hawiian burger. Both dishes were very good and reasonably priced. The toilets require a bit of maintenance and it was a shame that there was no live music to add to the atmosphere but otherwise a nice place to eat.

Me and my partner visited in July, quite an average bar but with a nice atmosphere, thanks to friendly staff, especially our waitress (I think Anne? With an English accent). We shared some food, wings were good fish and chips was average. Lock on both ladies toilets was broken, which was a bit uncomfortable

Good food and service was a bit sharp, but ok

2 visits.. both times food was excellent and delivered in good time in confortable surroundings. Both waitresses ( Leah and Orla ) went over and above to ensure we were well looked after and made sure the drinks didn't run out. Guiness was excellent. After the past year a great experience with cracking atmosphere. Highly recommended.

We have just had lunch both had Steak Sandwich was lovely and cheesecake for dessert. The reason I rated 5 stars is we were able to take our miniature schnauzer inside and the staff are so genuinely friendly. We will definitely be back

Coming home from a weekend on the west coast we were looking for somewhere to eat on the way. We stopped in Belleek and thought we’d try here. Friendly, helpful staff seated us at a small table in the front bar, then moved us to a bigger table in the back when one became free. The food was excellent, service second to none. All in all, a very pleasant surprise that finished our weekend well. A hidden gem. We’ll be back!

Food wasn't great but expensive, not worth the money!

My and my friend went here for food and drinks after lockdown. Would not recommend going there, food was terrible, asked for Peppered sauce said there was none but half hour later table next to us had some, service wasn’t good we were waiting longer than we should have been, even went to the bar got told that a girl would come to us and we were still waiting. Would not recommend going there for anything. One young lad in particular was very good, he was trying his hardest to get around everyone

Was recommended this place while cruising Lough erne. The food was really nice and the staff were lovely.

James and briday are absolutely greats persons and they shine their mind on the black cat atmosphere. Quality service and good dinners, and beers also.. 😊 2 years ago i was here during 1 week for fishing, remenbers are amazings.. They are 2 very great persons like all the villagers, greats minds, open and very kind🙏

Called in here and had a good lunch and a couple of drinks, however there was no sign of Track and Trace as our details were not taken. We called in again on the Saturday but were told that no food was being served but were able to get drinks again no Track or Tracing The food and service was okay and pricing reasonable but there are better eateries in Belleek

Was expecting regular pub food and had an amaaaazing steak, the best I had in a long while. Meat is from the local butcher, it was fresh and tender, perfectly cooked. Great atmosphere, lovely place, it's totally worth a visit!

Come to the black cat the lovely James (landlord) will make u feel at home, everything is top notch food fantastic and the best pint of black stuff in town 🥰

We came here as a party of about 15. The food on the TripAdvisor picture's looks totally different to what we got. I had lasagne which was below average, the pasta was hard. I has cheesecake for dessert which was not homemade, cold and did not taste fresh. My partner had sticky toffee pudding and the cardboard was still stuck to the bottom. We had to ask for the bill so many times even though the restaurant was not busy. Two of us had stomach ache/pains all evening, would not go back or recommend.

We attended as party of hen celebrations for a 2 course dinner for 22 ladies and all were delighted with the food served. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Food was delicious. The rhubarb crumble must be tasted. Thanks to all at this fantastic restaurant.

Stopped in for a Pint and enjoyed the fire and conversation with the locals. Worth a visit if you are in town.

James is a very friendly and funny barman and I recommend that you visit The Black Cat Cove in Belleek next time you are in the area

We enjoyed the decor and the service was good. There was a bit of confusion on our orders and it seemed a bit chilly in the room. The food was filling but unspectacular.

Called in for a pint of Guinness, exceptional it was. Old bar with lots of antiques lining the shelves etc. Nice warm fire and alarge screen TV to watch the sport on.Well worth a look. They serve meals at the weekends.

Quaint little pub serving good honest food. Very friendly casual dining, with big soft sofas for relaxing in afterwards. Usually has a late licence at the weekend and some kind of entertainment. Warm welcome for travelers.

Muy buena carta y muy buen ambiente

The staff of the Black Cat Cove was very accommodating to our large group from Michigan. We met with a local group, Young at Heart, and were served sandwiches, tea, and the best scones! The location of the café is convenient and the decorations inside create a great atmosphere for lunch and discussion. I would recommend to anyone!

Great pub and for Bridie and James are the best hosts you will find anywhere, you just have to visit the Black Cat when you are in Belleek

My family visited this great pub/restaurant and had a really good experience. Three generations where we were all catered for. Ages ranging from 2 years to 68 the children we’re catered for with an option for a child’s portion from the main menu. So we had a varied choice from the menu Fish,Steak,Burgers and the combo dishes ( chicken and steak) all were excellent. Service was excellent very friendly waitress if you’re in the area this restaurant is well worth a visit .

Lovely little pub in middle of Belleek, waitress was so polite and helpful, good food and reasonably priced, would definitely return.

Just popped in for a drink and sadly we missed the local traditional music night. Friendly staff, Can imagine be great craic on a busy night.

Stopped here for lunch on our way to Donegal and was not disappointed. Very quirky cosy bar and restaurant polite helpful staff and a lovely bit about the history of the pub.The food was good honest home cooked food that hit the spot we thought it was incredibly reasonably priced and would definitely visit again.Can recommend the fish and chips and the chicken carbonara. Belleek its self is a very quaint and pretty village worth a stop off at.Thanks for a good experience

Stayed at their lodge over the weekend for a hen party & cannot thank the owners enough for accommodating us. Later in the evening hosted us in The Black Cat Cove for a 3 course meal & drinks. The food was amazing & service was next to none. They even changed the live music to Country & we performed the line dance we learned earlier... As I am vegetarian I didn’t expect to be catered for but I was wrong! Food was delicious & they catered for everyone’s requirements with such ease & a great friendly service from Danielle. Such a great night had by the whole party.

Lovely Sunday lunch - just ask for more gravey and potatoes if your into that in a roast! The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Food was Tasty and cosy comfy atmosphere made for a very chilled dining experience. Even though the restaurant is next to another bar room, it wasnt noisy. it feels quirky but relaxing. Would definitely recommend.

Un locale stupendo e particolare dove gustare un'ottima cena ad un prezzo ragionevole, il personale è stato molto accogliente e disponibile...l'atmosfera è stupenda , un pò retrò e comunque tipica.

Didn't eat in the pub but the customers certainly made us welcome and food did look good but we were at a music festival in Balleyshannon so didn.t stay here for long

Had an excellent steak for lunch and all the trimmings. Best steak ever, so much so I returned a few days later and had the same. Very friendly staff, was told by locals it’s the best place around for food. Food freshly cooked, plenty of it and good coffee. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely beautiful pub with great pub grub which is owned by the same family who own the Dulrush fishing lodge, where my mother and I stayed with my dog. The pub is pet friendly and had a friendly crowd in it having bit of banter, we had 10oz steak with all the trimmings with a gd pint to wash it down. Definitely recommend if near

While on holiday, we decided to eat at the Black Cat Cove, after reading the good reviews. I cannot believe they are about the same place! The restaurant is very run down and dirty. We had a drink served in a dirty glass. The food was not good: soggy chips that tasted of old oil. The fish looked grey. The peas were shrivelled. Had we not ordered the food in the bar, before seeing the restaurant, we would have left and gone somewhere else. There was dust, grime and cobwebs everywhere. The menus and condmonts on the tables had dried food stuck to them. While the staff were very pleasant, the service was slow, despite the place being almost empty. I would avoid at all costs!
