Koku-shi in Fife

I have tried this place twice and both times have been extremely disappointing. Visit one was a take away. The sushi was average at best and presentation was less than average. Also tried the udon noddles and they were just over powered with far too much rich flavored sauce; in no way like anything Japanese in flavor. My daughter and I did not eat much of the Udon at all. Second time, I tried a delivery and got Sushi only. It was absolutely disgusting. The rice was under cooked and not seasoned enough with rice vinegar and sugar/salt. The avocados were rock hard and inedible. I called to complain and the person who works here said they knew the avocados were unripe, but that’s all they could source and have to work with what they have. I said this was really bad service, and my order should have been cancelled if they didn’t have the correct produce to provide what I ordered. I was promised a refund as I requested this; but 3 days later and I’m still waiting for this refund and cannot get through on the phone line any more.

Jessica is absolutely amazing !!! I was so happy with my order as it was an individual need… I love tempura and Jessica made it just an extraordinary for me. Fantastic chef ! Thank you so much xxx

We went in after it opened and as we were a bit scruffy as it was lunchtime and we were just passing. We felt the chefs were looking down on us. At one point there was a comment "at least they didn't ask for chips" The ironic thing was it appeared that we were the only people in the building that had been to Japan (No Japanese staff). Compared to the real thing the food was not very authentic in my opinion and was overpriced for what we got.

Great ppl, great service, very quick and delicious. Sure be back again. highly recommend for ppl who would like to try something different from the chippies
