Kokoro Sushi & Bento in Milton Keynes

Poor customer service by overweight woman. She didn’t like us asking questions. They do not accept cash. Yet didn’t tell us when we ordered. Food is ok not great. It is very commercialised. So not much attention in the cooking. Rice is very stodgy like rice pudding. Need to brush up on Customers met service and maybe tell the Obese lady to join the gym.

Even if you’re picking up cold sushi that is ready to go, you have to queue behind 10-12 other people ordering hot food. Restaurant should allow sushi orders to pay while the slow hot food is prepared. Takes so long to get lunch when it could be improved by simply allowing customers who are ready to pay.

Perhaps people who have been visiting this restaurant might understand what I mean, they are going downhill, it's a classic sign when businesses open multiple national outlets and profit and loss statements become most important, even more than core values . Price hike, smaller portion boxes, recipes have been changed, new poorer standard noodles. Come on guys seriously ? The company does not respond publicly or privately but I do hope they secretly read reviews, I am posting the same on TripAdvisor.

Love Kokoro food. Tried to find information for food delivery on which dishes were suitable for vegans for a family member on both the website and deliveroo app even tried calling them noone picked up. Absolutely no information whatsoever! Ordered a waggamamas instead!

If I could rate this place ZERO i would! I ordered the katsu curry, after watching it be chopped up with craft scissors I did think it was odd...but gave it a go. A few hours later I was violently vomiting, worst cramps ever, worst food poisoning EVER! AVOID !!!!!

We had regular Pumpkin Katsu Curries. They were fresh, super-tasty and very generously portioned. The prices are very reasonable. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended.

Amazing food and great portions, but never open! This is the new one at Tesco in Kingston. It's such a shame, whenever I want Kokoro it's closed. (Evenings and weekend evenings) . Closes at 8 pm on Saturday night? Closed at 4 pm on a Sunday?!

It's a regular lunch stop for us, for delicious sushi and a quick bite on the go. Been around 15 times over the past few years, always the same - great tasting fresh sushi and salads, and good staple hot food too!

Very friendly staff and very delicious and affordable food. We had an enjoyable time even during the hottest days of summer because they did what they can (providing fans, indoor seating, etc) to help and we felt welcomed and well-taken care of. It was a satisfying meal that we remembered.

I visit this place at least twice a month. It has excellent service. Great authentic food. They offer dine in and take away options. I thoroughly recommend this place.

im from luton and first time eating here. just wanted to say there was a amazing lady who served us. top notch customer service. and to follow im a fussy eater i ordered spicy chicken and noodles i mean wasnt spicy for me (probably because im indian) but the food was great. i even took a takeaway for my parents lol. not sure what the other dishes are like but im sure all good, my kid loved his katsu curry.

Ordered a few dishes including the spicy chicken. I love spicy food, but this dish is seriously too spicy! Pretty much inedible it was too spicy.

This is serious microwave rubbish. Felt like we had shallowed a pound of bricks. Utterly dreadful, avoid!!!

If you order one of the spicy dishes to have with your noodles or rice be prepared for the sauces to have overwhelmingly artificial, but nice, flavours.

i have only found kokoro during the pandemic, but have bought several times. i love the udon noodles with sweet and sour chicken with katsu chicken curry. fabulous

Need to try and organise their storefront better. The store is thronging with delivery riders a waiting inside together in a small space. As a customer you have to fight through this crowd to get to the display.. Nothing to tell you that you can jump this queue and use another till. There is a pandemic on, has no one noticed?

First time eating at Kokoro and I loved it! Tasty food. Good service can’t wait to eat here again! I also like that we was given the option to taste before choosing if I wanted.

It's the first time I've had anything from Kokora. As we're in lockdown again I fancied something different and ordered takeaway tuna and salmon sushi followed by Korean Beef Bulgogi/Beef Stew. Both were really tasty and enough to feed two.

Love the sushis and the katsu chicken we usually take it away and eat later. Still very nice and cruchy. One of our favourite places to take away.

I ordered the sweet and sour chicken and was really enjoying it until I found a HAIR in my meal! Went straight to the counter to inform them, the first thing they offered was a replacement, which was the last thing I wanted when finding a hair in my food. No wishes to find a hair in their food, let alone during a global pandemic when hygiene should be paramount. Staff should be wearing hair nets. I demanded a refund but even then the staff weren’t overly apologetic considering what I’d just found in my food. Wouldn’t recommend.

Consistently making tasty food! The portions are great value for money as well as being a hearty meal. My favourites are the sweet chilli chicken and the salmon lovers box. I would go as far as saying this the single best place in the city centre to get food from. Any chance I get I get one. It’s always fantastic!

We had 3 massive chicken Katsu curries with rice, chicken gyozas, tempuras prawns and tempura veg. It was yummy and very filling.

I have been visiting Kokoro since 2016 and the more I visit, the less enchanted I become with the place. In the past, I could rely on dishes like the Sweet and Chilli Chicken to be great but the last 2 times I ahve visited here, the quality of the chicken has felt horrible (like they have been using cheap cuts that hasnt been cleaned / prepared properly). The vegetable gyoza soup tastes great although the gyoza themselves are debatably vegetarian as it feels like they contain minced meat (also as someone who cannot eat miso, they were surprisingl unaware about whether or not the gyoza soup contained miso). In terms of asian food, I would say oodles chinese's kung po chicken is far better than the chicken dishes here, however this place offers better value for money in terms of portion size Overall I doubt I will come here again, but on the plus side, it has better customer service and seating capacity than Oodles in Luton

Tasty food, reasonably fast service, great value for money. I recommend the chilli tofu with noodles and curry sauce!

Have ordered from here on a few occasions now and this place still remains the best in MK to get a good Katsu Curry. At first, I thought they were a bit pricey- until I saw how big the portions were. A large chicken Katsu was enough for my lunch with more than enough left for dinner. Their Pumpkin Koroke is also a close favourite - so sweet, so soft and so full of flavour. Haven’t yet been disappointed with this restaurant. Without a doubt would recommend it to anyone.

I've been a regular of this establishment and have never been disappointed with the service being delivered. The food is always fresh and tasty. The staff are always friendly and welcoming.

They did not have my sweet chilli chicken, now I am still hungry. I am very disappointed in the service at kokoro

Amazing food here and the portions are brilliant- well a dietician wouldn’t agree but hey-ho! The food is prepared at the shop and really tasted like homemade food. We were also allowed to try different types of curry before we bought so that was another fret aspect. There is however limited seating but on a good day you could eat in the open area outside the shop. Overall I would highly recommend to anyone who is very hungry and loves good food.

Food here is delicious. Most of us in our group are big fans of Japanese food. Options we choose include the sweet chilli chicken, spicy pork, gyoza and sushi. These were all great! Lots of flavour. The only downside is that the noodles can be soggy but this is normal for fast Asian food. The rice was hot and fresh so that is a good optin. The portion sizes are great and it leaves a cheap filling meal.

Visited on a lunchtime. There were 20 people in the queue in front. After about 10 mins I was served. Ordered 2 chicken katsu curries and was told there would be a 5 minute wait. I said that was fine and they took the money. After 15 minutes there was still no sign of the food. I enquired as to where it was and was told just 2 more minutes. Another 5 minutes went by and still no food. I asked where it was and was told it would now be a further 20 to 25 minutes. I demanded a refund and left.

Great food for reasonable price. Fresh ingredients and lovely stuff. Just one disadvantage: the tabels were dirty...

After wanting to try this place for ages, we had lunch there on Saturday. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed, and only ate a couple of pieces. Worst sweet & sour ever. Such a shame as always a queue.

A small eat in/take away Japanese fast food restaurant within the hustle and bustle of MK shopping centre. The food is extremely tasty and it is always very popular because of this. Great value for money, food served in take away cartons. I would recommend the tofu noodles to veggies :)

I’ve loved the food there. They gave it to you in take away paper boxes. I’ve ordered a noodles with spicy pork for just over £6! Good quality food.

Most people walk past Kokoro because they aren't fans of sushi. But that's not all they do! The sweet chilli chicken and Katsu curry is to die for! If you love just a plain chicken and rice meal, this is the place to go!

This eatery is a typical Authentic cafe serving the best Katsu Curry and Udon soup!! A family favourite when we go on a shopping trip. Highly recommend for a quick snack.

Visited 2nd April 2018. Service was swift. Somewhere to eat found easily although more seating inside for cold day is required. My main point is that the heat for the spicy pork noodles should be shown when ordering.

Having previously rated this place 5 stars, I’m afraid the quality of food is going down. Food is lukewarm and noodles are soggy. Sweet and sour chicken and teriyaki salmon (which we purchased during the last visit) tasted ONLY of sugar and nothing else. Salmon was over cooked and chicken pieces were dry. The tables were dirty and staff wasn’t particularly busy to not notice how messy the whole place looked. Having eaten here quite frequently, I’m afraid I wont be returning.

Super food and staff that are very helpful especially when it comes to the difficult of making the decision of what to have. Cater to vegetarians as well which is great for my partner.

We went there and had lunch today. We were quite surprised actually, it's awesome value for money ! It was reaaally good. You can see what we ordered and we paid 30 pounds. We will come back for sure.

Unfortunately every month when we try to eat here same thing there are no staff to clean tables, I have to do it my own as I felt I need to disturb the staff from serving the counter and kitchen just to clean the table...I felt there is a need to improve on this service, today the noodles were a bit soggy and overcooked...

I love when my sister surprises me with the katsu curry from here especially. Very generous portions, and extremely tasty.

Food as usual was nice but what a tip. The bin was overflowing empty food cartons and drinks all round the bin. Tables were full of food stuff no where else to put it. A staff member came out to have his food but couldn't...

Increíble para un almuerzo rápido y también tiene enormes porciones por el dinero que pagas. Los sabores aquí son fenomenales para el tiempo que tardan en servir. Merece una visita y genial para un almuerzo de trabajo.

Fuimos una vez almuerzo regalo. Educado y amable, la comida sabrosa servidores y fuimos para la 'la opción', que era un trabajo para completar. Había leído las experiencias anteriores, con mesas sucias, etc. pero no encontramos ninguno - excelente relación calidad-precio, sin duda volvería de nuevo.

La comida aquí es agradable y puedes tomar la mitad del arroz y una media noidles. A veces se llena bastante, pero pronto colas

He estado solo y con la familia Kokoro muchas veces. Katsu curry de pollo es increíble. . Un buen tamaño y sólo cuesta 5 libras. 45. Otros platos son también buenos pero que uno es mi favorito. Siempre parece como bien limpio. Sigan con el buen trabajo chicos

So I'm a huge lover of Japanese food. I was so excited when I found out that they were opening another Japanese place in Milton Keynes as we only have Wagamama or Akasa. The food choice is great and they offer two sizes. The price has increased since it opened but the food is worth the price. I've never been disappointed! If you plan on going at lunch time during the week expect a que, but trust me it's worth the wait. Katsu curry with rice is my number one choice. I actually prefer it then Wagamamas.

We always eat at the usualChainbut my son had been here and wanted us to try this one as he thought it better value for money.We allHad different Katsu, seafood, beef and veggie, we all tasted each one, was amazingly fresh with new fresh food arriving all the time. Regular was plenty - our new fave!!

We love this place. We love it more before because was cheaper and they had a fidelity card, now is expensive and they removed the card. but the staff is very friendly ( japanese staff) and the food is sublime. Sushi prices very competitive. the bad thing is the long queues to get food every day. We would like the fidelity card again :)

Good, tasty food that's quick and easy! Small selection but this is made up by the refrigerated section. Will always pop to Kokoro for lovely, quick, reliable food.

Have had food from Kokoro several times now. The food has always been great and they really do fill the dishes to the brim. Staff have always been friendly and helpfull. A great choice of food and a good value fast food or takeaway.

Terrible, ordered via deliveroo, vegetable gyoza was delivered entirely uncooked and contained meat. Vegetable noodles had very few vegetables and were cold. Sushi was very poor quality and a little stale.

I have regularly visited this Japanese bento and sushi restaurant since it opened. The food is always fresh and absolutely delicious. It offers a wide range of dishes all served either with noodles or rice. My particular favourite is the sweet chilli chicken followed by the katsu curry. The portions are very generous and excellent value. The sushi is also delicious, reasonably priced for sushi and there is a wide range. It is a takeaway restaurant but the food is all cooked on the premises and the restaurant always has a queue which I am more than happy to join as it is totally worth it! The staff are also super friendly. It is just a really fab place to grab lunch in Milton Keynes!

Popped in to satisfy my craving for some salmon sushi. Picked up a salmon lovers tray and some salmon mako. In a word this place is FRESH. Tastes like it should. Which isn't anything like Yo Sushi. Delicate salmon flavours and delicious rice cooked just right. No overwhelming sweet/salt weirdness that is the normal for "Mall" sushi.I am a regular and this place is perfect for my sushi needs. Go there. Be happy.

Tasty Lunch and something different from the multiple nandoes and Mcdonalds that the centre has to offer. Its fresh sushi so its not cheap, but it is worth it. Great lunch destination. Hot Bento food is a rarity in UK, Sushi is very common now, but the sushi served is varied and delicious. Staff always friendly.

Love the Shushi and Bento but find the bento so sweet, sugar rush is immediate especially with the sweet and sour chicken but al the hot food is sweet I like more rice with the dish but there is only so much you can fit into the paper bowls .... but so love love, love, the shushi dumplings and veg mixes. Worth the effort of going because the price is great the service is good too. Tables are neglected sometimes but its still good.

Great sushi at a fair price but floor looks like it's never been washed and there is grime on the walls, which is a shame because the food is always very nice.

My partner and I always have Chicken Katsu Curry. It never let us down. There are some great fish and gyoza options from the fridge as well. Some of the Japanese dishes might not be that great to be kept in the fridge as the flavour disappears.The shop is run mostly by Korean ladies and sometimes Korean pop is playing on the radio which is great.

Amazing food very filling resonable priced very friendly and warm welcoming. Very quick at serving so dont stand around for to long great food

I can't believe that I have missed this place for so long. Kororo offers a good selection of Asian inspired dishes. Hot dishes come with either noodles or sticky rice. There are two sizes to choose from but even the small portion is plenty for all but the most hungry of people. Great for a quick lunch whilst out shopping in town. Next time I'll have to try the sushi which looks equally as tasty.

Didn't know what to expect, but was really a nice surprise, food was fresh, hot and tasty. Prices where good, cheaper than say, a Burger King for a lunch time meal, and a lot healthier too. And staff were friendly too.

Kokoro remains a good place for great tasting oriental food. This time around, we tried veg sushi, sweet chilli chicken, chicken katsu curry, tofu chilly and chicken chilly. All dishes very fresh tasting and good. Service is very quick and you can literally be out of there in less than half an hour, after devouring great tasting food. Very reasonably priced deals.

I really enjoyed the quality of the sushi here. I also loved the other chicken and rice dishes they have. The staff are friendly and the food is good value. I went after work so there wasn't a great deal of choice on the sushi left. I ate here 6 times in the past 3 weeks - do you need to know any more?

Prices are more than reasonable and the food is gorgeous. Faster than McDonalds which is meant to be 'fast food'. Far better food for better value. Would recommend, especially on a lunch break.

We grabbed some lunch here and did not expect the food to be as good as it was. The variety and menu options are great, staff are really engaging and help you to try and test the right meal before you buy plus the prices are reasonable for the food and service received. Our new favourite lunch spot.

If you like asian food and are looking for a quick lunch go here for rice with chicken or for any of the sushi packs, all freshly made and of superb quality

This has become one of our favourite restaurants in MK. Once again we had a delicious meal, served quickly and efficiently. It was piping hot, and the small portions are huge and such good value. I can certainly recommend this place for lovely food, reasonably priced and yummy.

My husband and I love sushi! We are very pleased to have found Kokoro! The place is more like a Japanese cafe, basic, nothing fancy, but it's clean, the staff are friendly and the food is fresh and they are so confident of their food preparation that you can actually see them cooking the food in the kitchen on the side. Japanese staff in a Japanese restaurant as well is always a reassurance for us that the food will be proper Japanese. The sushi definitely are! So tasty and so fresh! The hot meal is very good as well and they are not shy on their portions! The food is well worth what you pay for. It is advisable to have their food stamp card, we already got a free meal with free miso soup! Oh, and don't forget to try the seaweed salad. May not look too fancy but very tasty, plus seaweed they say is good for you.

Had medium pot of sweet and sour chicken with rice and katsu chicken with noodles. You can chose noddles or rice with either dish. Good portion for just under £6 each, and tasty. Will used again. Only small problem, outside tables need cleaning more regularly.

If you find this place without a queue across a lunchtime you are doing well. Hopefully that should say it all.You can pick up a sushi/sashimi platter for less than £10 and it is the best quality you will find in the city. Rice and noodle dishes are also excellent and about £5. I can't emphasise enough the quality and qualntity of the food you can get for your money. Easily beats any other offering in MK and I am yet to find anywhere of this good value elsewhere.If you like seriously hot asian food the spicy pork is to die for!

We visited this Kokoro,for a family lunch its in Oak Court within Intu and on a warm summer day you can sit outside ,they do have heaters attached overhead if its cold and they have plenty of seating inside The food is freshly prepared and served in the hot trays at the counter and they also have a selection of pre packed items sushi rolls and salads etc in the chillers If you fancy something different then this is the place to go to

Just popped in today on my way round the shops for lunch. The queue out the door says it all. I visited almost a year ago just after it opened and loved it but worried people might not get it and it would close but it's still there and going strong!The spicy tofu is very spicy and was amazing, definitely not one for people who are unsure about how hot they like their food. I had mine with noodles but you can choose rice, and they're also tasty and smothered in the sauce of whichever main you choose. I wisely chose a small because the portions are generous and amazing value for money!

Located near the Banks in city centre shopping center, it is indeed very convenient for everyone who likes japanese foods!everything is freshly made and you can have some takeaway sushi,gyoza etc.!worth a visit!

Tried it first time last weekend despite walking past it at least a 1000 times. Wish I had been there before! Lovely food and not too greasy. Tried Yaki soba with noodles and loved it. Hubby had sushi and sashimi and was too impressed. The Aloe Vera drinks were good. Staff is lovely and work effeciently. Best part is theres one price for eat in and take away. Will deffo visit again.

Had the chicken teriyaki, the food was lukewarm, the source seemed generic and sickly sweet certainly not a teriyaki source, and the chicken not very flavoursome at all. Not a memorable meal.

We had some very nice food here, the chicken teryakki which was very flavourful and hot. The pruce was good and the service was also very good. The place was very busy but still got good servive.

We first started going to this restaurant when it opened and keep going back. The food is really nice and well priced and a great little break either at lunchtime or at a weekend. The staff are always very nice and friendly and the food is never a let down. Over the last week I have introduced another 5 work colleagues who all agree it's great.Really pleased to see it doing so well.

My daughter introduced me to the delights of Kokoro in central Milton Keynes (just near the old Oak tree)..The food is excellent, SO tasty and it won't break the bank. We had a take away (sushi, gyoza, katsui curry ) last week - and then ate in while on a shopping trip last night. The staff were redy to close up but took chairs off the tables so we could eat in. It's a very basic setting (nothing fancy) but scrupulously clean - and simply heavenly food. A large Katsui curry and large Korean beef dish for around £12.... Bye bye McDonalds, Burger King etc.. Kokoro is where I will go if I need fast food in town.

Fantastic food at a reasonable price. Great service, friendly staff and the food was delicious. We were offered a refill of our katsu sauce and of our teas. I wish there was one near to home. Can't recommend enough.

Came here for a quick lunch trip and i wasn't disappointed! Would recommend the Katsu curry as it tasted superb!

Good sized portions and good value. Nice selection and not just all chicken. Can get quite busy. Nicer food than its rival Chopsticks
