Koi Sushi Garden in Newham

I west here with my friend for her Birthday. We ordered Tom yam and sushi and French fries for the kid. He couldn’t even their fries. Sushi were lacking of taste, not salty at all and too much rice that was overcooked..There was only 2 tables occupied but waiting time was about 30 minutes. Plus the chef messed up with our order. At the end we got the bill there was £8 service charge. There was no any service at all. We left very disappointed, definitely not coming there again.

We ordered a food delivery and the three dishes in the picture cost £46.99, with the dish in the top left (4 pork gyozas & 4 sushi pieces) costing a whopping £20. We were insulted and offended by the minuscule portion sizes and it was pointless ordering this food because we had to cook a whole meal at home after eating. Not OK.

I recently visited this Japanese sushi restaurant with some of my friends and unfortunately had a really bad experience. The customer service was lacking and the overall experience was shockingly bad. The staff seemed uninterested in helping and we were left waiting for a long time before our food arrived. The sushi itself was just okay, but not anything special. Worst of all was that we were charged for things that we didnt even order and it took them (with our help and calculator) 45 minutes to fix it. They spoke very little english and someone (probably someone related to the restaurant) who was already drunk almost fought with us. By the way there is nothing japanese about this restaurant whatsoever other than the food. I wouldn't recommend this place and suggest looking elsewhere for your sushi fix.

Food was delicious, the staff was nice and polite, really appreciated time there. The Japanese style of the restaurant, really gave that extra taste to the food.

Because of the high ratings in Google reviews, my friend and I decided to go there for a Thursday dinner and we both were quite disappointed. Maybe it was because our expectations were too high due to the good reviews and ratings. We arrived at the restaurant around 7:30pm. We just walked in and there was only us in the restaurant. The receptionist as well as the only waiter was nice. We ordered different food which were sashimi, tuna tartare, shrimp tempura, roasted eggplants, rainbow rolls; and also 250ml of plum wine for sharing. Let’s start with the sashimi, the salmon and tuna was not fresh. The fish slices were very thin and the texture was not good. The cooked shrimps and octopus were dry and chewy. The eel were normal. Tuna should be the main character of the dish, however the tuna was as well not fresh but to eat with the avocado and soy sauce, it was Bette than the sashimi. The outer coating of the shrimp tempura was too thick and not crispy enough. One half of the roasted eggplants tasted quite good but the other half was a bit bitter. Maybe the surface is over-grilled. The last food was the rainbow rolls. We had to remind the waiter about the rainbow rolls after we almost finished all other food and a dragon roll was arrived wrongly. We asked the waiter if this was rainbow roll and he answered yes. But it was a dragon roll. So we told him and he took the roll back to the kitchen and got us a rainbow roll at last. The plum wine is was fine. The dinner costed around £130 and we both thought the price didn’t match with the food quality. Disappointed dinner experience.

I’ve never tried sushi before and still not a fan but at least I I’ve tried it. That’s beside the point, the interior design is beautiful with fish, flowers and bamboo! The waitress was friendly but not all too helpful as it seemed as if though she didn’t know the menu and what to recommend. The prices are decent for the quantity of food too.

Poor customer service, self added and hidden 15% serivce charge to final bill. Was forced to eat in pouring rain whilst roof could have been half extended to cover us. Furthermore, this isn’t authentic Japanese sushi joint but a balant half baked duplicate. Recommend avoiding and looking for better alternative.

Very nice noodle dishes and sushi was good, back garden area is pretty with heated lights if it’s cold.

The service was really bad. It is clear that the restaurant puts no effort in good customer service. We waited so long to take the order and also so long to get water to our table. The food was good for it’s price and the presentation was impressive, however, the customer service needs improvement.

I've ordered delivery from this place a few times now. High quality fish and ingrediants prepared with great care. If you are looking to order sushi in east london look no further this place is your spot. Look forward to visiting in person when the lockdown ends. The Takoyaki is A+

Absolutely terrible service! No one care about customers here! High prices for low quality food! Me and my partner have been there twice and second time were expected better experience but failed. Such a shame!

A lovely place in Stratford, opposite Morrison’s. We had the sushi’s which were nice, but have had better in other places! Service is good, bit slow. They have a fancy buzzer button which you can use to call them to your table instead of waiting around for someone to appear. They accept tastecard, which was a bonus! Lovely deco and atmosphere inside.

The service was friendly and attentive however I found the language barrier slightly difficult. I found the music to be quite loud and inappropriate due to the amount of swear words. Nice complimentary tea and tap water was offered as soon as we were seated. Prices were moderate for the food but for the drinks they were extortionate. Order: squid tempura £7.50 The squid was extremely tasty and there was definitely enough pieces to feed at least 2. I would’ve preferred the batter to be crispier but apart from that, the squid was nice. Order: California salmon uramaki £8.50 The salmon uramaki was amazing. The salmon melted in my mouth and the veg was fresh. I also loved the fish eggs on the outer edge. Order: Spicy salmon uramaki £4.25 The spicy salmon uramaki was nice but there was no spice so it wasn’t what I was expecting. Everything was great and I think the food was nice but the language barrier may make my decision to return thinkable.

First of all the waiter was friendly but we do go to restaurants for the food. Sushi was disappointing and the other dishes fairly standard.

Lovely experience: service is nice and the food is well presented and good quality. The tempura is not actual tempura, but still very good. Communication could be improved.
