Knott's in Ards

We had the small portion of Irish Stew, which was not that small and was very tasty and satisfying. Also very reasonably priced. The bigger portion must be quite large.

Ordered a birthday cake just before Christmas. The cake was just okay definitely I’ve had nicer. Had lots of cakes buns etc from knotts all been lovely. The birthday cake just tasted of packet mix cake didn’t taste like baked from scratch cake. Overall was disappointing as it looked good but didn’t taste of much. Since the shop has been taken over I do feel it has went down hill a bit.

Always lovely for a tasty snack but quite expensive. Can’t really complain about the food though. It’s a bit like Marks and Spencer. You get what you pay for. No personal touch with staff . A quick cattle market as it is a busy place.

Knotts is an institution in Newtownards and boy does it live up to its reputation! The best bakes in NI!

My daughter and I went today for a scone each, a cup of coffee and a pot of tea. These were very tasty and the newly decorated surroundings were relaxed and cosy. However, the stand out part of the visit was due to the service of one of the young waiting staff. I mentioned to my daughter that we had forgotten to lift knives and, quick as a flash, he said that he would get us our cutlery. He then proceeded to carry our tray up to our seat. Such pleasant, mannerly customer service is so unusual and should be commended.

A real good shop service is top drawer and the food is very good take out our in the sit in we always like going there

I've used this place many times to sit in and take out. The food is very high quality but I think a little bit expensive. However, you get what you pay for. Staff are excellent and a wide variety of hot and cold dishes are available. Highly recommend a visit.

Have used Knotts for some time now always enjoying lovely food and great service. However on a recent visit I was so disappointed at level of service. Early morning 920 so not the the usual ques due to how popular this place is. No ques but also no service! I waited with tray in hand and items but no one from counter approached me for rest of order. This went on for a while with at least 4 team members passing me by without even a glance. Knotts has built such a reputation for it's product base over many years but with staff giving this level of service it will take more than great products to sustain in a competitive market place. Needless to say I left without placing an order on this occasion. Hopefully the new owners will share this with their team who were on duty on Mon morning.

The Knott family built this business up from scratch into the best bakery/cafe business in the Ards and N Down area. However, since the Corry family took over the business it has moved up a step and is still, by far, the best in A&ND area.

Got coffee and a traybake here. Coffee very good with hot milk which was nice. Traybake and biscuits really delicious.

Meals have definitely gone up in price- not good value for a lunchtime menu in a self service cafe.

Did not help with my try and I have got health problems with my waking and going up saiter

Three of us went here on a Thursday at lunchtime, big mistake..... It was packed and the noise wasn't good. It's a beautiful place with lovely food, though I think it's a bit pricey for a sandwich 🥪 which was 3 cheeses mixed together cut in triangles in a box.

Very busy but lots of room if you are prepared to go upstairs. Food delicious and staff very efficient. The range of buns is delicious!!

Lovely home bakery and restaurant on the high street km Newtownards.

Knotts is always a busy place, but the bakery area and cafe sell delicious meals and cakes. There is a pleasant atmosphere and staff are friendly and helpful.

This place is very clean especially the Disabled Toilet, the staff are very helpful and friendly, although very busy at times well worth the Waite, as if it was not busy i would wonder why, the food is fantastic and a very good verity

Our local stop for coffee and breakfast, excellent food and wide range of choice. Friendly helpful staff with time chat and assist older people with food to table.

Very very expensive to eat in. We were charged £10.50 each for a plate of chilli chicken and oven chips. Also charged 75p for small pot water on top of the americano we bought, never been charged that before. Great food but way too expensive, won't be back. Attached is our receipt

Food is always lovely here. Staff are friendly in the cafe and the food is always fresh. Reasonably priced. Their cakes are really nice, always fresh and they last for a few days. If you haven’t been I would recommend you try this place. It can be very busy but you can’t book as far as I’m aware.

Fab service warm and inviting loads of seating. Lunches are great salad s fish N chips, roast dinners soft filled rolls great choice of cakes, tray bakes, scones, Thier apple tart and fresh cream is to due for. Good tea and coffee offers take away too.

Staff at checkout not very helpful or friendly

Just popped in for a snack and had coconut fingers and tea. Very nice. The place is kept spotless and all tables are wiped down immediately. It is still a very popular destination.

Sausages rolls, Florentines cappuccino coffee on clean tables with soft seats in a relaxed environment. Not too crowded but plenty of pleasant staff to serve us and continuously clean tables and floors.full marks to Knott's staff. The bakery before we escape to street entices us in,rich fruit cake,lemon drizzle cake, fruit squares,German biscuits (don't mention the war ) prepared dinners and may favourite ,one of their savory pies!

Called in for a bun and coffee. Two Florentines and cappuccino.bliss.clean tidy, lovely staff, attentive,cleaning up constantly.. Fruit loaf and pie bought in bakery. The loaf is rich ,fruity and delicious. 10/10 excellent!

We had to queue they were very busy but they were very quick at seating us. Staff very friendly. Lovely home cooked meals. Something you don't get nowadays very often.

Knotts is a great place to eat. Definitely the place to go for lunch. The portions are large, their chilli chicken meals taste great. Menu is a little bit expensive if you are just wanting a snack, but if you are expecting to have a proper meal, then it is well worth a visit. Staff are very friendly.

**AVOID! ** My wife ordered a cake for my 40th birthday over a month in advance. Turned up to collect it and there was no cake. They were good enough to take our payment though, think we'll stick with Tesco in the future.

Fabulous Food. Fabulous Staff. Great Seating. Prices what you expect. Great selection of cold/hot foods, bakery, takeaway food. A great asset to the town given it has been there for years. It can be very busy, so go early if you prefer.

We were making a trip to Newtownards to get some things and before we left we wanted to get something to eat. The fella in the shop recommended to try cafe closed to them. Just to clarify the bakery is at the front & the cafe is down at the back. They were busy, there was a lady at the door asking if we wanted the bakery or the Cafe. We got in ordered and got a table no problem. Have to say the lunch was lovely and both of us would definitely eat here again. Barry & Sharon 👍👌

My wife and I like this shop. They do great pastry and buns. Sometimes we would have lunch in the café part, having tasty meals and teas. Great staff always smiling though it's hard to see through their masks lol.
