Best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had, nice and friendly staff and clean toilets.🙂 a great place!

Had Welsh Rabbit with decent side salad. Was nice but the onion chutney was sweet which had it been on the side could have been left but was underneath the cheese topping and in my view it took away most of the cheese flavour but was still enjoyable. Service friendly. Would go back again so hasn't put me off.

Was there with my wife for breakfast. We were blown away by the quality of the full English and the sausage and fried egg sandwich. Coffees and teas were lovely as well. Lovely friendly service, couldn’t fault the place.

Great coffee shop excellent food and service, only one slight gripe which prob could be sorted easily we sat outside as a lovely day but had to move to another seat as drains did not smell nice.

Food was good, but coffee had been left in the pot for a while, so had a severe burnt coffee taste. I cried.

Great full English, quality ingredients well cooked. Staff friendly and helpful, atmosphere very relaxed and pleasant.

Aesthetically pleasing cute little cafe, parking is a bit of a nightmare as there’s few spaces and you might end up having to park on the road or up the street. Food however was full of flavour and thoroughly enjoyed it, also the price of the food wasn’t too bad either!

First visit for us today and we were not disappointed.Super friendly staff and quick service. Husband had full english breakfast and reported that it was very tasty and the sausage was great. I had granola with greek yogurt, fruit and honey and again, it was lovely. Cant wait for a return visit to try the lunch menu!

Super nice staff, and the food was amazing! The eggs royal were perfectly poached and all-round great, while the lunch main we got was a special on the menu and was also really good and a generous portion. It’s a cute spot, cosy on the inside, and sitting outside can be quite nice if it’s warm. There are also alternative milks, including oat milk, which is great.

Such a cute little spot! We walked in and very luckily got a table, it was the last table they had so we do recommend booking. It's popular for a reason! The food was amazing and the oat milk cappuccino was yummy! Service couldn't be faulted and the decor was so cute!

Really liked this lil brunch cafe by the Riverside in Newburn. Quite a different experience for a cafe as it's in an office building but can't fault the service/ food quality/ ambience. As expected inflation and the current economy has meant prices have shot up from what I'd seen on previous reviews (first saved this place to go during the first lockdown and never got around till now) but can't blame them and they make it worth it in their friendly atmosphere with quality food and drink. Had a great time with our lil one and the staff were so accommodating and even gave recommendations on the local country park and river walk. Will defo be back next summer! 👍

I had a fabulous Welsh rarebit on fresh sourdough toast.......it was super fresh and tasty, with homemade coleslaw and a good portion of crunchy salad - NOM!! This was followed by banana cake with Nutella cream, which was superb. (I rarely eat cake, but this looked great, and didn't disappoint). The waitress/owner was quietly efficient, and really friendly. Her smile, offered to every customer, young and old, was lovely to see. My mum and I thoroughly enjoyed a leisurely lunch, and we can certainly recommend Knights to anyone who appreciates well cooked food.

Just spotless and owner absolutely first class at serving. So many local work people popping in asking for coffees while he was busy making lunch meal for local business in same building. We ended up with two fantastic full on meals after our 2 hour walk. Highly recommended and by the way you also get a lovely pot of tea 👍

Far and away the best breakfast in the North East. Used to try a different breakfast place every week. But since trying here haven't went anywhere else. Amazing standard of food, Service is genuine, friendly and bespoke and to top it off it is reasonably priced. A must try for anyone

A wonderful welcome awaits you at this coffe house. Very friendly atmosphere. Spotlessly clean . After a couple of visits for coffee we had to return and try the breakfast. That was one of our better decisions... Super local produce, good and hot cooked to perfection served efficiently along with a smile.. This is how a catering establishment should be presented and managed. Thank you!!!!

Nice breakfast and very clean place

Food lovely. Very hard to get a table if you don't book. Downfall is people park in the disable space don't show a disabled badge. The woman who I spoke to said we'll yes there's someone disabled. If you have no badge then you don't qualify to use the space. Takes a lot of examinations to qualify for one. Shame on those that take advatage

Just to say the best and healthiest breakfasts in the area. Staff are nice and accommodating. Really like the laid back atmosphere. The stream outside is really pretty. A great way to start a weekend or any day off.

Fantastic service, great coffee and delicious breakfast. I had the veggie breakfast on this visit and it was perfectly cooked. I'm not a vegetarian but this breakfast always tempts me away from the usual full english as it tastes so good. I've been to Knights by the Burn several times now and its always outstanding. Highly recommended!

A marvellous bacon and egg sarnie to go with 2 latte's and a chicken wrap and 2 lots of cake to finish off with a great location and a nice chilled atmosphere too lovely service by cheerful staff too

This place is amazing! Owners and staff are so friendly and accommodating. The food never disappoints and I particularly love the veggie breakfasts. The outside garden is lovely and peaceful. Would highly recommend.

Plus a lovely Rose lemonade drink.We decided we had had enough to eat butOrdered scones and cakes to go.We Evan took a vegan chocolate cake for our daughter.The price was great

Working from home may be a chore our treat is lunch every Friday - good choice from menu with weekly changing Specials. Recommend Coronation chicken

We often went for breakfast and lunch prior to Covid... however, we missed it a lot during lockdowns so we have ventured out to get a Full English this morning and my goodness it was SOOOOOO GOOD!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you stayed at a B&B and got a breakfast this good you would move in. Gav&Jenny and the girls but lots of love into the business and it is honestly well worth a visit for a take away during Lockdown#2 It was packed nicely and was still hot when we got home didn’t need anything apart from eaten. HIGHLY RECOMMEND and I’m super fussy so wouldn’t go back if it wasn’t a win every time. Please support this very busy local business.

When not in lockdown we have our breakfast here every weekend and usually a lunch through the week too but since lock down we have been getting their take out breakfasts and lunches each week. I can’t praise the food enough. Gav, the chef & part owner makes the most tasty dishes you’ll ever eat and Jen, his wife also part owner is a charming friendly lady and between them they deliver the most fantastic professional service you could ask for. It’s great to know even in these awful times you can depend on Knights by the Burn to keep you well fed with tasty food.

Been here a few times now, pre lockdown post lockdown. Absolutely brilliant every time. The cakes are excellent, my youngest said the biscoff rocky Road was the best ever.The food is top class, the eggs benedict absolutely amazing. Sandwiches sublime, in fact everything is lush. Lovely couple that own it as well.

Some delicious choices today at lunchtime, and my friend and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Thanks to the very pleasant staff. See you soon.!

Friday in the office is bacon/sausage butty day working from home due to COVID we thought we’d treat ourselves to a take away. Cracking bacon butty and other half eggs benedict excellent quality and value ready to collect after ringing in order

Cálida bienvenida por parte del personal en un día frío y lluvioso. Nuestro brunch estuvo delicioso. Mi marido tenía sabrosas salchichas y huevos fritos sarnie. Tuve huevos Benedict cocinados a la perfección. Cada uno de nosotros tenía una taza de té refrescante de tamaño generoso. ¡Bromas amistosas con el personal y los clientes a distancia social! Experiencia muy agradable. Luego, un agradable paseo junto al río con instrucciones del amable y competente chef y personal. Definitivamente regresaremos.

Enjoyed a lovely lamb kofta with flat bread and Greek salad. Oreo cake was a bit dry but a good sized slice. Place is spotless and well laid out. Staff were super friendly and the only real negative was them being overly attentive and interrupting the conversation at our table at least 6 times to check everything was ok

Me and a friend popped in to have some breakfast as we were passing. I decided to go for the poached eggs on toast with avocado and I was delighted with my choice. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Another stunning lunch at Knights! Amazing friendly and well informed staff as my mam is GF there was so much choice and informed exactly what was on the menu for her and me. I went for broccoli & cheddar soup and the halloumi and red pepper ciabatta. Mam opted for butternut squash soup & beautiful GF tiger loaf with coronation chicken. Fresh beautiful salad. We took some of it home and that was boxed up with no hassles. Bustling and busy but nothing too much trouble for the lovely staff. Well done We will be back for cake!

I can’t rate this wonderful place high enough ,a warm and welcoming atmosphere , I have tried everything on the menu and have always had a freshly cooked delicious meal.The daily specials are amazing tried the quiche today and it was delicious. The staff are wonderful so friendly even the chef pops out to accommodate us , the filter coffee is the best I have tried and free top up is a bonus .

I simply love this place , it’s so lovely, warm and welcoming, clean and so nicely set out , the counter looks great with a choice of delicious home made cakes , scones and other delights to go along side the coffee (the best filter coffee I’ve had) , the main menu has plenty of choice to accommodate everyone and also a daily special board today I chose the broccoli soup and I was not disappointed it was delicious along with soft seeded bread , I’ve now become a regular at this place and the staff and chef/owners are so friendly and welcoming and always accommodating overall I’ve rated five stars but I’d have given more if I could , if you’ve not tried this place then why not ??

Best breakfast in town. The sausages are delicious. Black pudding lovely. Can’t fault it. Even the large wedge of bread is delicious.

Stopped off for a fried breakfast in this cosy place. Breakfast was good, nice quality sausage, thick bacon, tasty mushrooms, black pudding, fried egg was very well done, and beans. Staff were very pleasant and you can see they do care about giving food food and service. Overall I gave an average but that is just because i had a fried breakfast it could and probably would be higher if i tried the other dishes. Only one thing, add more beans to the brekkie.

Gav, Jen and the team rock! Gavin is a super talented chef and I try to limit myself to just one of the specials per week. Such good value, you’d be paying £16-18 if you had some of the dishes he cooks in a restaurant in the evening. Coffee is great, super friendly staff, I’m in most days deserves to be No1 in Newcastle. An appropriate accolade.

Lovely little spot for breakfast

This is my favourite place for breakfast, I usually have the full English and it’s perfect every time. Tried the smoked salmon and poached eggs today perfect as well. What a brilliant job the owners have done, love all the little touches, tomato ketchup in little glass jars etc. Always busy and for a good reason it’s simply the best breakfast in the north east. The cakes are that good I asked if they could make me a whole one for my 40th and they did, the only thing I would say is the prices are to low they really could charge a lot more, I know that’s a good thing but the price doesn’t reflect the absolutely perfect food. so I always leave a good tip but that’s a personal preference. Try this place you will never go anywhere else

I was walking along the Hadrain Wall Path and stumbled across this little gem in Newburn, less than 5 mins from the Path. I was greeted by a warm smile and friendly hello. I only ordered a pot of tea and a Bacon roll, but it was the best roll I have had in a long time. I asked for it on granary. the bacon was cooked to perfection and came with a very quaint pot of brown sauce on the side. Anyone walking the Hadrian Way in need of substances or refreshements, I highly recommend you seek this little coffee house out.

Visited this establishment for the second time and can only say what a great experience this was— service was brilliant and my friend and l enjoyed a superb meal followed by a delicious desert- the atmosphere was relaxed and the whole experience a pleasure.

Best breakfast in the northeast

I've just visited this coffee house as keep on running past it! It did not disappoint. The staff were delightful and the veggie breakfast was amazing. The best I've had for a long time. Freshly cooked, hot and incredibly tasty. There were plenty of places to sit when we got there at around 10.15am. Also looks as though you can reserve seating if you phone up in advance. Will definitely go back again.

Breakfasts are fab and service great

I was looking for a place to grab some breakfast on a rare morning off and someone recommended this place. They told me it could easily be missed as it is on the side of the road in a building housing other companies but it was just opposite the old KB Cycles shop. We parked higher up on the dude of the road and walked down. It is right next to a burn and there was outside seating alongside it but the weather wasn't at its best. We went inside and there is the main seating area where you place your order as well as a separate area. Plenty of tables to choose from so we sat down and looked at the menu. There is a great selection on offer but the full English had to be done along with a double espresso. Coffee arrived first and breakfast soon afterwards. It was perfect as you can see in the photo. We also took a selection of cakes home - the ginger cake was amazing. Looking at the lunch menu and specials certainly makes me want to try it again soon but but may have to spend a good part of the day there as the breakfast was do good that is what I'll be going back for first. Thanks again :)

Very good food, friendly service

We met two friends here for lunch, not knowing what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. We had soup and sandwiches, teas and coffees, the soup was very nice and the sandwiches excellent one of our party required gluten free and this was not a problem. The staff were really pleasant and helpful, would recommend and will return?

What an unbelievable lunch after an 11 mile hike. Great food and an unbelievable staff.

Had a very good vegetarian breakfast.
