Kiyoto never ever disappoints. This will always be mine and my boyfriends favourite sushi takeaway!!

workers giving nasty looks also looking at us then talking loudly about us saying we look like things and just being un polite and so rude and laughing at us and just made us feel really uncomfortable they wouldn’t smile and the workers are really unpleasant people , got our order wrong then they proceded to talk about it to eachtoher and say that what we was given is what we ordered when we know exactly what we ordered and what we said it is absolutely ridiculous

Fair price and quality, service is good

The minute I saw Eran the young lady who received us and seated us I felt that we had made the right choice of suchi restaurants in Borehamwood. She was very attentive and made us feel at home. Thank you will be back soon.

While the food is good and we are regulars, today's experience was pretty bad in terms of service. You feel duped. We asked for extra Wasabe & Ginger, - they did not even put the required quantity in the original box. They told us they'd put additional but none was there in the packaging once we reached home. This happened literally 5 mins back today. This was for my daughter and I really felt bad. My recommendation: Strict NO NO to the collection service + Never trust the staff and check yourself if they've put in the order box what you asked for.

Beautiful Salmon Teriyaki and Salmon Crunch roll. Really good food and really good service. I ordered food to collect and was ready when I requested and still hot.

Love, love, love. The place is intimate, simply decorated but functional and clean. You can sit at the food prep area and watch it all being made in front of you. I loved sitting waiting for my food and watching things being, prepped, sliced and rolled. I found the whole experience just absolutely gorgeous. The food looked amazing and it tasted divine. Very reasonable prices and wonderfully, warm accommodating service. It does get busy so beware.

The restaurant served rather small portions, but I must say the service was impressively swift. In my view, it fell into the category of mediocrity, neither particularly impressive nor disappointing.

Fresh sushi and sashimi with a good selection of hot foods. The staff were lovely but it was clear they were all new so didn’t really know much about the menu but I’m sure it’ll get better with time. Recommended!

We tried at by chance and had not booked. We managed to get seat at the bar regardless which was great. The menu was varied and we enjoyed what we had. Sat at the bar, we could see the line of chefs at work preparing the taste food! Service could have been a bit quicker but they were very busy with take away orders as well but the manager was lovely and gave us good tips on what to try. Will be going again and trying the takeaway in the future too.

Always good here. What every restaurant should be, reliable, consistent and friendly. Chefs work hard and always to a high standard. We had an order of 27 dishes and Julia and Luke worked hard to make sure it was all present and correct. Never had a bad meal here and it’s always our go to when in the area. Just wish they’d deliver to Bushey next!

The food is beyond outstanding ! We are weekly and never had a bad dish EVER ! Honestly fantastic !!!

Been here a few times recently. Superb fresh sushi and very good service. Recommend the crispy rice salmon and the dragon roll. We will be returning regularly going forward!

Regular customer and would echo what many on here have said which is that the sushi is generally excellent but the staff are unfriendly and unhelpful to the point of rudeness. If there was somewhere nearby of similar quality I would switch in an instant

I have ordered from this restaurant on several occasions and each time it becomes increasingly frustrating placing the order within a time slot with a completely disinterested member of staff.Staff on many occasions can be an asset but unfortunately Kiyoto need to train their staff fully before letting them near a phone.

Ordered both ramens, both equally terrible, if I wanted plain chicken noodle soup I would buy it from tescos for £1. Skolding hot abd noodles like mush with absolutely no flavour. The first and last time I’ll ever order from here

Being a regular at Kyoto I’ve had such mixed experiences. At both, the food is great but when visiting Borehamwood there is an issue every time. Orders forgotten to be processed, long waits and very poor customer service. Although Mill Hill is further away I’ve had a great experience every time.

I'm sorry to have to write this but just picked up a takeaway from the Borehamwood store, using for the first time. All seemed fine until we got to the plastic container which had raw salmon for the Kyoto Crispy Rice with Spicy salmon and spring onion to find not one but two long black hairs!I have no more words

I have eaten at Kiyoto several times and each time I have forgotten to review because the experience left me in such a great mood. This time I am going to write this because Kiyoto deserves praise.On the last occasion, my fifth time, I was greeted personally by the owner of the restaurant, and while I enjoyed the food we talked about Japanese food. He told me about his passion for the cuisine and the philosophy he started the business with. I have noticed the superior quality of the fish they serve there, and it is the same every time. The service is attentive without being smothering, the presentation is always excellent. I have watched the chefs preparing the sashimi as I sit at one of the high stools by the counter and they are consistently excellent in the attention to detail.The prices are also right, the food is of a quality that matches much more expensive places, which is one of the things that sets Kiyoto apart for me.Highly recommend

Located in Borehamwood, about 5 minutes walk from the station. It is a very good Japanese restaurant. The quality of the food is excellent. The only down side is that is a small restaurant, so booking a table will be best.The value of the food are quite fare.

Love this place. The one in West hampstead is also brilliant. Lovely staff and excellent sushi. I wish they had one in East London ❤️❤️

Kiyoto. Hahahahaha what can I say. Going back seven years or so when I was a mere lad of twenty-four I had nothing. The cold was my home. The rain my shelter. Life wasn’t satisfied with me and I held a mirror to that.

The food is always good at this place and I highly recommend it. Service and ambience is fast and good as expected although it is solely for the tasty menu that you will visit this bar/cafe establishment.

The sushi and sushi chefs are the only reason we keep on going back. Service is terrible, poor, they rush the costumer to hurry up...

Great food and excellent service !!!We had a fabulous lunch of various sushi and sashimi items today at this Mill Hill restaurant. We live in London and are forever disappointed with the cost and portions at our local Japanese restaurants (Not fast food). Kiyoto's portions are not only extremely generous but were fresh and very tasty. Everything we ordered was perfect. The service was friendly, caring and professional.We'll be visiting again very soon !!!

Very fresh and tasty sushi and I strongly recommend coming here if you are in the area. Friendly staff too! Place is a bit small but counter seats are available on a walk in basis. Gets really busy in peak time so try to avoid if you can....otherwise a must!

Visited Kiyoto Mill Hill for dinner. The sushi is the best I have had locally in a long time, very fresh and tasted delicious. The prices are very fair too. Good, friendly staff, I look forward to visiting again soon.

Not a great place tbh, huge menu and they seem to do a lot of takes away - we had 2 hand rolls which were soggy as they hadn’t crisped the seaweed and the words “tobiko” and “sesame seeds” don’t seem they exist out here in the ‘burbs .

Please dont compare it to top sushi places like Nobu or Zuma, Sushi Samba.....still amazing fresh sushi you can get locally and it's so friendly ! Bare in mind it's always busy due to the fact people love it and it's.... pretty small.

I’ve been a regular here since it opened and I cannot fault the food or the service. They serve excellent sushi, and my kids love their Katsu curry. All the dishes are fresh and very well presented. My only criticism is they need much bigger premises as it’s so busy at times you cannot move. I’ve never had a bad meal or bad service and highly recommend them.

This really is the best sushi restaurant locally. Superb fresh sushi, good service and. It can get really busy and wait times for food can be long. There are not many tables here so eating in can be tough. Not the best atmosphere inside but as a takeaway it is superb.

I had lunch today in Kiyoto Mill hill,very good choice as one of friend recommended to me and I won’t regret. I had salmon sashimi as a starter ,followed by dragon roll,to die for it. Also the service provided by George was amazing,very polite guy,smiling,he took extra care of us, together Ariana too. Well done guys. We will be back for sure.

My friends and I had a very nice meal in Kiyoto Mill Hill and everything was lovely. Our server was George, he made sure that everything is going good with our table, smilling and very polite guy. I had chicken gyoza, prawn tempura and fresh Salmon sashimi-to die for it. My friends had Super,Spider roll, Salmon sashimi Salad and the other friend some of the vegan dishes. We all enjoyed and we will be back for sure. Thank you George, keep it up all the time!! Thank for the chefs too. I will recommend for sure.

Borehamwood high street has changed a lot in the last few years. Many chains and a lot of good independent places to eat have popped up. Kiyoto is an excellent example of one of these places. The fish, I am told, is supplied by the same people that supply Nobu. The sashimi, which is my usual choice, is amazing. So fresh and really decent portions. The restaurant does not have much seating and the interior is really more like a take away but so what when the food is so splendid. They operate a loyalty card system which is nice if you’re a regular. Really great sushi.

The wife and I and sisters and brothers mums and dads absolutely love this little authentic Japanese restaurant. The food is to die for!! Must go and try everything on their menu! Dragon rolls are our favourite and the edamame. Plenty of choice on the menu. Must book in advance to avoid disappointment, but rocking up on the off chance can be rewarding!! 5stars!!

Booked, but waited 30 mins for a table, ordered but long wait for food, soft shell crab wrap sent back as it smelt wrong, nice Ramen soup, salmon average and bland

Excellent food, clean friendly environment , fresh ingredients made at sushi bar. If going at weekend always recommend phoning and booking as this place gets busy. Can't wait to go back

Really good tasting food, better for a lighter meal that j2o across the road with slightly better quality. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant and really nice watching the food be made in front of you. Drinks seemed quite expensive though.

We were welcomed into the place and the food was excellent. We went for the all you can eat option which I felt was a little expensive, but the food and sertvice was excelent. Would certainly go again.

We usually get our sushi takeaway from here and it has never disappointed. We ate in recently and I must say that it is even better in the restaurant as all the tempura dishes are crispy and hot. Whilst it may not be the most sophisticated venue for a night out it makes up for it in the food and value. I look forward to going again.

Take Away is what we usually get from here and the sushi and its derivatives are good - not the best that I have ever had but worth the cost. It is all made fresh - as it should be - and the kitchen and the master sushi chefs are on display. They do make mistakes every so often in their service hence only 4 out of 5 but generally we have not had any complaints and my daughter is a genuine sushi master having eaten sushi all over the world (as have I but I am less discerning!). The gyoza are well worth a punt. fish is fresh, wasabi is reasonably hot and the pickles are (I think) "home made". The restaurant is always packed and as Borehamwood is full of choice this is not a bad thing.

So it’s Friday night, me and the boyfriend decided to come here for dinner and I am hangry, been waiting almost 20 minutes for 5 pieces of chicken gyoza’s to arrive. There were a few tables which have left now so there are two tables in the restaurant including us. We can clearly see the staff talking to each other and we can see take away orders being prepped and sent out but our food.... no where to be seen. Quite appalling service really. Won’t be coming back.....

They use fresh fish here not frozen and you can taste the difference. Very popular place especially on a Saturday night. California rolls excellent, rock shrimp tempura top class, dragon roll their most popular dish. Very friendly, very efficient staff. They have a branch in Mill Hill and now looking for a third location. A sign of success - well deserved.

Easily one of the best places that Serves sushi near Watford. The resturant is rather small and doesnt look like much, but the food is really great. The menu has a lot of variety to choose from. The rolls are mouth watering, the salmon sashimi is so fresh, it literally melts in your mouth, and the special rolls are just awesomely hand crafted, that you cant help but stare at them before eating them. Not to mention, they taste heavenly. Also, the food arrived super fast.

Amazing flavours. Fish was fresh and sweet. Staff are fab and prices are more then reasonable. If it was nearer home, I'd be there every week. Good mix of original style sushi and modern dishes to suit. Really can't praise this place enough.

Really busy newly opened restaurant in the Broadway. Great selection of food, freshly prepared by four Sushi chefs. Tasty food at reasonable prices in great atmosphere. Excellent service and perfect location to eat. Would definitely return.

I love this place, luckily I live quite close to it. The sushi is one of the best I've had, prices are cheap and the staff is extremely friendly. They also have a loyalty card so every now and then you can enjoy a discount.

I have forgotten now the rest of sushi bars and will just say if you can visit this place you will be amazed at the fresh quality preparation and cleanliness and fantastic choices.

First visit here, chosen through Trip Adviser reviews. A very extensive menu, all choices were delicious, well presented, good sized and reasonably priced. The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is the shop-sized premises with a limited number of tables quite closely spaced. Great for a casual meal but no real ambience.Would visit again.

I visit the Mill Hill branch monthly and can say that I am always impressed by the quality of the services.The quality of the food is dizzying and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. George and Lory lead the team with the iron hand proving they are true leaders !!!
