Avoid at all costs the scrambled eggs where undercooked and the bacon was fatty and also undercooked it was very expensive for a breakfast we couldn’t eat

We popped in for a quick drink, but more to see the craft side of things. The Cafe is lovely, friendly staff, nice and clean. If you are looking for gifts from Wales, you have come to the right place. Fabulous little Welsh gift shop. It’s got every type of Welsh gifts you could think of. It’s a must do place if your in Llandovery on a day trip or passing through. Well worth going in.. Mike

Voy allí un par de veces a la semana si sólo para dejar en un café. Ambiente relajado y a precios razonables.

Visited LLandovery yesterday. as the reviews were pretty good we went here - partner had the goats cheese salad and I had the steak and ale pie. The staff werevery pleasent BUT the goats cheese salad was pretty tasteless, you could barely tell the cheese was goats , the steak pie had incredibly thick pastry (it looked like the pastry you get in a steak pudding not pie) and very little meat - the "gravy" in a little jug was some sort of chemically tasting veg stock not gravy - both meals were quite expensive for what they were and in comparison with much posher better looking cafes and restaurants around the town centre- It was pretty disapointing all round, first time I remember both myself and partner adding salt to a meal to make it acceptable - I'll not be back

We called in for a cuppa and some lunch as they welcomed our little dog. The food was freshly prepared and tasty. There were several little shops there, selling baskets, welsh cards, jams, etc. and we saw several really nice things to buy (which we did). A really nice place and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Would certainly visit here again.

Situated in a former market hall, the cafe tries hard but the fayre on offer is bland. OK for a quick stop although the Old Printing Office is better but not open as often.

Two of us called in here for a snack, whilst browsing around Llandovery. The owner was so nice as was the lady preparing the food. Although we only had pasty and drink, the service was excellent and nicely presented. It appears to be a very friendly café, and I could imagine the locals meet in there for a chat and a cuppa as the owner knew the names of the customers and they knew him. I would call in there again if I'm in the area.

I turned up near the end of a LONG drive, tired and needing food and a rest. The Kitchen Garden was the first cafe in sight, though I was well after other cafe opening times, as it was approaching 6pm. The man who ran the cafe and looked after the little shops was an angel! Not only did he make me welcome as though he'd been waiting just for me, he knew all about coelicac needs as his daughter was coeliac. So I indulged in a luscious gf strawberry and rhubarb cheesecake, and bought a slice of fruit and brandy cake to take with me. As it was wrapped in wax paper it kept perfectly and was still moist and delicious two days later. He was also extremely helpful about the best way to finish my journey from there, local knowledge of traffic and roadworks etc beats satnav any day!

Having stopped for a cuppa on the way though to Builth Wells we had a tea cake and Welsh cake which were very nice, with ample tea. Test driving a car we returned later in the week and sampled their home made pasties. The lamb and veg and cornbeef were very good. They have a good selection of meals at competitive prices and look forward to trying a further selection on our next visit. Pots of tea are for thirsty people with 4 cups to the pot.

We always stop here on our way to Pembrokeshire. The location is unique - you sit in a sort of indoor piazza with some interesting shops all around you. There is a decent size menu at reasonable prices and everything is tasty ! You will encounter the owner Michael who is a great host. He has an infectious smile and can be very chatty if you ask him some questions. We love the soup that his wife Rhona cooks and there is sometimes some interesting banter between them. LLandovery is a great place to stop except for the expensive car park - we remember when it was free ! Don't miss a visit here if you are in the area - you'll enjoy it..

We have been here quite a few times. Each time we have been met by the friendly owners, enjoyed the reasonably priced delicious food and looking around the gift and hamper shop. The food is a good variety and there's likely to be something everyone would like. The Welsh hampers make a lovely present, you can choose the items you want and they are then beautifully presented. We travel the 25 or so miles to get there from Kidwelly, and it's well worth the trip. It's dog friendly too which was surprising - my boyfriend and I were initially just going to get a tea to take away but after seeing the dog friendly sign we went in to have a proper meal and we've been back 4+ times over the past 3 months. The castle is well worth a visit (free) and the red kite feeding station is nearby so couples/families can easily make a day of it.Last time went just after Christmas the cafe was closing for a short period so that the owners could have a well earned break. I think they reopen the 1st of March - we will be returning soon after.

I make no apology for singing the praises of the staff and food at the Kitchen Garden Café, Llandovery. My wife and I have been going there usually for lunch ( 25 miles round trip !) regularly for years. We continue to go there not only for the friendly atmosphere and staff, but also, and predominantly, for chef Sylvia's excellent food. Almost everything is cooked by Sylvia on the premises and she presents her creations in such an artistic and colourful way and always with a friendly smile. Her Lasagne with Salad is as good as you will be offered anywhere and her Steak and Ale Pie on a cold winter's day is wonderful.I never thought I would rave about chips, but recently the café started serving them. It was a decision not taken lightly given the fresh nature of their cooking. However, the owners Michael and Rhona, have produced chips which are a delicious addition to their menu which the children, and me, certainly go for !!Sandwich's, cakes, pizzas and cawl are among the wide range of food available at this homely and very Welsh café. If you're nearby, don't take my word for it, go and see for yourself. My wife and I are not related in any way to anyone associated with the Kitchen Garden Café, but we can understand how our high praise of it could make you think we were. We just love it, it's as simple as that.

Many a lunchtime I've been revived by a delicious bowl of traditional Welsh Cawl at the Kitchen Garden Cafe, so my review covers lots of visits, not just a one-off. The steak and ale pie is also a favourite of mine. It's great to know that it's made on site, in a #5 hygiene-rated kitchen (best it can be). One of Sylvia's flapjacks with a mug of milky coffee is enough to keep me going for hours.I can also vouch for the shepherd's pie... Well, I can vouch for virtually everything on the menu. Over the years my husband and I have worked our way through most of it! Another lovely aspect of the Kitchen Garden Cafe is the glass-roofed seating area - keeps things light and bright. Whether meeting friends for a lazy lunch and catch up, or you just need a quick pick-me-up, it's a really nice space.

If you like a nice beef steak then look no further! The chef buys his meat from a small Swansea butcher and it’s both great quality and well cooked at an amazingly low price! It’s a pub as well as a restaurant so whether you are looking to eat or just have a beer, it’s great! The only downside is that Doombar is the only ale they keep, you would expect a local welsh beer.

We recently booked and visited this establishment for a Sunday roast / 93rd birthday party, (not me by the way!) as we were staying locally for the weekend. Well what can I say!!, as soon as I arrived, the outside looked like someone’s house in this tiny, yet beautiful village, however once over the threshold it became apparent how large and beautiful the inside of this pub was, even Doctor Who would’ve been impressed with this tardis! I and another family member were greeted by a warm and friendly faced landlady, and she was a lady! Asked where we were from and made us feel incredibly welcome, then she let herself down by undercharging us for our pints £4.50 each!! At home in Wiltshire I pay £6.50 for the very same pint. We were shown to our own large table (11 people), set on our own. This restaurant was impeccable. The food was perfect with some difficult family members dietary requirements, even the chef came to the table which turned out to be the landlord, what a nice guy he was too. This place was so good, I felt only obliged to buy the landlord and landlady a drink to say thank you for looking after us. After giving the 93-year-old the bumps to celebrate, we left happy and fulfilled. Thank you guys!
