Kinghorn Chip Shop in Fife

i have had a lot of things from the menu so far everything has been tasty and still piping hot had turkish calzone last night which was amazing they made a bigger size by mistake but still sent it with a wee note on my receipt which i thought was very nice of them .

It was not as good as used to be when they first took over

Great, tasty food. Arrived quickly and was still hot.

Was staying in a local hotel & chose this chippy for our dinner. We ordered at 7.30 but the food never arrived, tried to call them but no luck. Waited all night starving & our hotel restaurant was now closed. Really disappointed, went to bed hungry!

every time we order we hope it'll be better. the order arrived missing the curry sauce, the fish finger kids meal wasn't fish fingers, the steak pie had absolutely no filling and was super doughy (usually the steak pie is the one thing you can count on being amazing), I asked for salt n sauce and extra sauce but the steak pie suppers were SOOOOO dry, hardly any sauce at all, usually the steak pies are actually really good.

Never again, fish was thin, tasteless and greasy! Yuck, it was worse than the cheapest frozen crap from the out of date bin.....

As always the food was good. Kinghorn is a great chippy. The only issue was the food was late and it was missing part of the order. The deliver girl is lovely as ever and apologised for the lateness. Just frustrating that the lateness of the order meant that I couldn’t enjoy the full meal

Poor quality - fish batter soggy and chips not crisp

This chip shop is a reliable choice for a tasty meal. My order arrived early, and they were proactive in calling about a substitution for the onion rings, which was appreciated. The food was excellent: hot, fresh, and not greasy. The portions were generous, making it a great value. The onion rings, although frozen, still hit the spot. This is a solid option for a satisfying takeaway.

Ordered 1 fish supper at 18.20, it arrived at 20.20 two hours later. Batter was stuck to packaging and came off as soon as I removed top layer, fish and chips were soggy and had no flavour whatsoever. Can’t rate this well at all- had to wait ages and food wasn’t worth the wait at all.

Great place! I popped in after going to Silver Sands and fancied a fish supper. I was surprised when they opened early thinking it opened at 4:30 not 5. As my wife is gluten-free, finding good suitable options can sometimes be a challenge, but she was delighted with the Fish Supper, which was not only gluten-free but also “amazing”. For someone who can’t say no to a chippy I went for a standard Fish Supper too and it was also class. The staff were friendly and opening up early to take my order was first class. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food and especially a good gluten free option!

Haggis bon bons and black pudding fritters tasted very salty....Wasn't happy with the food at all. Ruined my night's meal cause I couldn't finish it, so it went straight in the garbage and a waste of money.

Great service and very fast delivery.

I usually love their food but this time everything was overcooked, sorry to say. First time getting poor quality. Hopefully just a one off.

Lovely as usual, and good portion of fish ‘n’ chips. Only thing was, the coleslaw portion was quite miserable. Barely covered the bottom of the polystyrene container. It was very nice coleslaw, but a bit of a mean portion. Also, don’t we need to be getting away from polystyrene? Difficult to have coleslaw in biodegradable, I appreciate that, but at least with plastic it’s reusable/recyclable. Otherwise lovely ☺️

I've used the Kinghorn Chip Shop many times and I've never been disappointed.

Perfect, highly recommend the Fireball Calzone. My only regret is not getting a bigger size so I could save some for later! Thankyou.

Was great onion rings and bajis were burnt everything else was great hence 4 stars. Would been 5 otherwise.

I ordered a gluten free chicken tikka kebab myself with no pitta bread and normal kebab for my partner. When I went to collect they had actually gone to a local supermarket and bought gluten free pitta bread for me. Excellent customer service. Informed me that chilli sauce wasn’t gf but would make a gf batch in future. Kebabs were really good and tasty, will definitely return

I'm not sure what was so salty on the pizza, maybe the fajita chicken, but it was far too salty I couldn't eat it, absolutely awful. I was starving too after waiting 2 hours!! for it to arrive. Far too long. I won't be using this takeaway again.

Have just moved to Kirkcaldy and was struggling to find a gluten free chippy for my daughter who is coeliac. Found the Kinghorn Chippy and she loved the gluten free fish and chips. My husband really enjoyed his breaded fish and I thought the white pudding was fabulous. We are delighted to have found a good chippy that caters for all our foodie needs.

the food is good for a chippy and the little lady that delivers it is amazingly friendly.

I’ve never had a delivery in under 2 hours but I don’t care. The food has always arrived roasting hot and tastes amazing. Always worth the wait!

Very good service takes time some times as the cook every thing to order but 100% worth wait even for the real potato chips

Calzone was badly burnt on the bottom. Could only eat the top and filling.

The food is always amazing from here. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal. Lovely fresh food and always hot when delivered. It's a busy place so make sure you pay attention to delivery times and if you want your food at a certain time, order ahead. There can be quite a wait but it always comes within the estimated time. First class every time.

I have had quite a lot of orders from here in the past & everything had been excellent, until tonight,I ordered a munchie box...The only thing good about it was the cold can of juice,everything tasted wrong about it & the donner meat smelt like it had gone off,so it all ended up in the bin....very disappointed 😞 😢

Take their time with 60-70 mins but worth the wait.

We ordered a large fish supper, single spicy haggis, coleslaw and curry sauce … to use later. We were a bit disappointed with the coleslaw, needed more mayonnaise and wasn’t as big a portion as expected, i.e. it didn’t fill the tub. Was made from nice fresh vegetables though. Also, the chips were a bit soggy, used to be Kinghorn chippie could be relied upon for crispy chips. And have to say, fish fillets are quite small. We appreciate that everything’s more expensive nowadays but it shouldn’t affect quality of the meal. We’d rather pay a bit more and get a quality meal. We are in Burntisland so might try more local chippies. Shame cos used to love Kinghorn chippie.

Absolutely ah-mazing. Loved it as we are both on gluten free diet so getting from the gf menu here was so satisfying as ages since I had a proper chippy tea.

We waited around 45 minutes for the food (ordered in the shop) which is not a problem for good food. The fish wasn’t great - the batter was soft and a bit soggy, and one of the pieces was full of bones. The taste really wasn’t great. The chips and sausage were nice enough.

Our food was so late, we waited hours on a delivery only for it to be disappointing. Fish supper was terrible, half the chips were dry and un-edible and the fish was full of bones so all went in the bin. Kids ate the pizza as they had waited long enough but it didn't look very appetising at all. Sorry to say won't be ordering again.

Very nice food but takes so long to get here I ended up with a pizza I didn't need as my little one had to go to bed and had to cook him something else before then I won't eat it either cause I don't like what's on it

I have now waited over 2 and a half hours on my food and it’s still not here, this is unacceptable

Our food eventually arrived nearly 3 hours after it was ordered. I called at 8.50pm to be told it would be 10mins, it arrived at 9.25pm. The excuse was the local chippy is closed, why keep accepting orders when you clearly can’t get them out in a reasonable time?

Ordered food at 6.35. Order page said 70-85 minutes. Once I paid my money, it said delivery between 8.20 and 8.40, so 105-125 minutes. Delivery finally turned up at 9.00. Then to cap it all, I asked the driver (calmly) to let you know I was unhappy - "tell them yourself" she said - so I am. I know it's Saturday and I know you're busy but to keep a regular customer waiting like that just isn't good enough. If this happens again, you'll lose a customer - and that would be a shame because the food is always excellent. Phil

We had 2 great breaded haddock suppers, really tasty and well worth the money. Staff very pleasant too.
