Under the new management of Matt and Angela we’re finally in for some gastro pub food. We enjoyed a fabulous brittlest lunch with friends and what a treat 😋. It was a seafood banquet with small plates of sesame garlic prawns, divine baby squid and gooey cheese dips/ crudities. Followed by 2 types of langoustine platters, haddock and dover sole . All served with delicious sauces and sides. The menu is currently being refreshed and I can’t wait to see what’s next . Highly recommend for a friendly local pub with delicious food 👍😋🤩

Great food and staff. Angela and team are fantastic. Chef Matt cooks the best Sunday Roast around. Don’t forget to have a sharer Camembert as a starter. Even have a Roast Burrito for those that don’t want a full roast dinner. Massive homemade Yorkshires are a big plus.

Have visited the King William on several occasions and always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Not this time, walked over to the bar, no hello in fact we felt like an inconvenience to them , the barman had to put his phone down to serve us, no thank you, then he picked up his phone again and carried on his important texting, disappointed with this visit.

I've stayed in one of the rooms and I found it really dirty. Half filled, cheap shampoo and shower gel. The light fixture was hanging out, there's no tea or coffee or milk. Bathroom... Discusting. Low flow of water from the shower. There's not any Sort of breakfast options available. Definitely over priced for what it is.

A couple of months ago we had a fantastic Sunday roast at the King WIlliam and so went again for a Saturday lunch with family members who were visiting. We were very disappointed. First, we hoped to sit outside as it was a warm sunny day, but the music was so loud that we could not have a conversation and so moved back inside. Second, the food. The menu was much smaller than we remembered from the pub's website. The burgers were no more than adequate. The chicken kebab was better. We had high expectations which were not met. What has gone wrong? Were we just unlucky or has the chef changed? We will not be going back unless for a Sunday roast or just a beer.

We booked for the one night on Busness , had to extend our stay , lucky there was a free room , we eat , drank & danced to the live music , we had an absolute ball , we will be returning definitely, big thanks to the king Willian & team

Stayed one night everything seemed ok checked in early then went do the shops and pubs. On return noticed only one cup and no milk to do tea coffee.it was late so went bed. The next morning went to have shower but it was not working then noticed the toilet was blocked up to the rim.Also above the sink was a exposed light with no waterproof fitting which as an electrian i no is very dangerous. Went downstairs to complain but no one around then I remembered they said no one here till eleven. Also a few other negatives very small room bed pushed up to the wall so have to climb over your partner and not very clean.Also a light fitting that was way to low for the low ceiling that by the look of it had been bashed a few times. NOT WORTH THE MONEY THEY ARE CHARGING STAY ELSEWHERE

Amazing location and fantastic bar staff who even went out of their way to help us get a taxi to where we were going after, definitely would visit again ! Also beds are really comfy

Shout out to Pav and Cat who rescued my friend and I from hunger on a Sunday after a big night out on Saturday! From the off we were made to feel welcome, offered drinks and told to make ourselves comfortable. We sat by the fire. The menu for Sunday was simple which made the choice easy. We ordered a full roast chicken to share which we were defeated by. Definitely money for value.... We haven't even spoken about the gravy yet... Brilliant all round, keep doing what you are doing and we cant wait to come back to maybe fit in a cheeseboard next time !!

We had our first meal at the King William on Easter Sunday. We had been once before just for a drink and had heard that their Sunday roasts were good, so we thought we'd try it. We feared that it would be full at Easter, but, no, we booked a table online a few days earlier. When we arrived only one other table was occupied. A few other people arrived while we were there and we were told that there were more bookings for later in the afternoon. The pub looked clean and cosy but we were a little uncertain what to expect as tehre were so few people there. We ordered the slow cooked lamb shoulder - £30 for two - plus Yorkshire pudding. We need not have worried. The meal was brought out and it looked magnificent and tasted as good. The meat was completly tender and slipped off the bone. The accompanying roast potatoes were as good as I have ever had. There was also mashed potatoes and swedes and a mixture of green vegetables. Gravy came in a separate boat so we could have as much or as little as we wished. In fact it was one of the best roast dinners I have ever had and I would recommend it highly. The portions were generous. We are glad we did not choose a starter, and we had no room for a dessert. Next time - and there will be a next time - we may do without the Yorkshire pudding, which was the least enjoyable part of the meal, however grand it looked. It is a Robinsons pub and we had some excellent beer. Service was welcoming and friendly, as you would expect of a good pub.

Great Pub located close to Manchester Airport. The decor is a perfect blend of traditional and modern. The food and drinks are excellent, the menu is reasonably priced and the portions are very generous. The staff is also very welcoming and attentive.

Appallingly treated by the most rude bar manager ever. We had booked the pub for a lunchtime meal and was so disappointed by the lack of care and attendance. The beer was flat and the food was fried so much it tasted like burnt oil....

Lovely pub that I pop in to for a pint regularly , great atmosphere too. Was with a large party for food and it was super tasty and all ran very smoothly. Highly recommend popping in.

My partner and I stayed in the twin room, it was lovely to have my own bed lol! The room was clean and well presented and the beds were extremely comfy and cosy, they provide teas and coffees and a tv which had many channels...

Fish and chips for two. One large one small. Crispy batter on white cod, best we've had for a long time. Staff were welcoming. Good surroundings and music. Recommended

Food tasted like it was microwaved; limp and horrible. Delivery driver asked me if there was a drink (I did order one) in the bag and when I said no it seemed like news to him - but he certainly didn't seem bothered, so not to worry I suppose. Literally 1/10 because a zero would be too much of a song and dance for this place. AWFUL.

Inspite on specifically mentioning no chillies instead put olives. They still put chillies and haven't put olives. Very annoying and upsetting. Second time this has happened. Very poor understanding.

Fresh ingredients, very nice dough cooked perfectly. Just the waiting time was a bit too much (around 1h) but altogether great service. We'll definitely buy again and strongly recommend!

Cold food very late wrong order and poor customer service

I ordered a meal deal. 1 item missing and worst of all burned food called up restaurant and they don't care about customer as 1st my call was cancelled and the next was put on hold tried to call again but no use.

Pizza was slightly warm and as result had to reheat. Not happy with delivery being hour and half late.

We went on a warm sunny Friday lunchtime taking the opportunity sitting in the smart outside area and couldn’t fault the experience. Staff were attentive and observant , realising without being asked of our needs. The menu was interesting and the food delicious and reasonably...

The system said to enjoy your food but not deliverd, I made the call at 21.15 they said will be delivered in 15 min I am very disappointed.

Very late, and over cooked. Called 3 times and the restaurant was only saying “will be there in the next 5 min” totally unacceptable...

I visited on a Tuesday afternoon, I was impressed by how the pub has been refurbished throughout. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We ordered off the small plates menu which was tasty and a good standard.Overall I was impressed from the improvement from the previous setup and I would return.

Poor delivery time, but food tasted great

I the KW with friends, firstly we waited 20 minutes for a drinks menu and a further 15 mins for drinks , My starter was pale and undercooked , I sent it back and told the waiter the problem but as my friends had finished I didn’t want another starter. We constantly had to ask for service as they seemed to concentrating on the outdoors rather than inside. A table next to us was full of youngsters ( breaking COVID restrictions) they were downing shots and banging on the tables whilst arm wrestling not conducive to the atmosphere. The next day I commented on their Instagram account and as it was negative it was immediately removed I was messaged privately and it was handled very badly with an aggressive tone . They told me an owner would contact me to discuss my issues, Lauren did indeed contact me with a view to discuss after the bank holiday, a week later I am still waiting. I won’t be going back and if your looking for a nice meal in Wilmslow there are much better options !

We went as a family of 6 & 3 children. Firstly the menu choices is limiting to say the least, to the point that some adults ended up having sides and children's meals for their main courses! It is over priced and although the food was ok!!, it was not worth the money paid. As a family of 6 who hadn't seen each other due to lock down restrictions for quite a while and who have just had a breavement in the family we were just out to have a nice meal a few drinks and a good chat. We were told by a very rude what I can only presume was a manager (in a white top with black stripping) that we were "to loud" & they had had multiple complaints about the noise level.We were talking, and laughing not being rowdy, not singing our standing on chairs just trying to enjoy a nice relaxed meal and have a chat. I then went into the toilets at one point during our visit and was approached by another customer who proceeded to tell us that the same 'manager' had gone round all the tables and was calling our party and stating that "she was sorry for the loud noise, it's not normally this loud it's that party in the corner' - purposely pointing us out to other customers. I'd like to add we were the only group in there will children and the children were actually just drawing pictures and not even being loud. The same manager made us feel very comfortable by keep staring over at the table. All the other staff were nice and our make service was really good! We were shocked at the lack of professionalism, lack of food choices and the price at the end of our visit. If you are thinking of attending I wouldn't unless you are in a couple with no children and I'd suggest you look at the menu before visiting because it's rubbish choice. We will never go back there again.

That’s not acceptable to pay for something and not to get it. The vegetarian pizza that I just have ordered I request it with extra topping ‘roast chicken’ it has none. Why? Awful service for your customers. Can I get the money back for that topping because you took the money very easily.

We waited over 30 minutes to be served with drinks, whilst watching waiters taking drinks and food outside. We finally had to ask for a drinks menu. Disorganised staffing. We had to ask for wine list, drinks and menu. We had to constantly ask for service. When the food finally came, my friend’s starter was inedible. Black pudding. We had a table next to us where they had been drinking shots for a long time and they were shouting and banging the table. The waitress said they’d been in all day drinking shots. No apologies. Sorry, but not a good experience. For the waitress to tell us ‘sorry for your wait, we’re so busy’ the whole time is unprofessional.

I rang the restaurant due to the food being 20 minutes late they said the driver was just around the corner he took another 20 minutes to show the food was cold my kids were upset because they had waited so long for something to be cold and rubbery!

Food was 20 minutes late and when I called to see if it had been sent yet the phone just rang and rang with no answer after 7 attempts and then the garlic bread was burnt and the pizza was missing ham which I added and paid for, only upset as my previous orders have been good quality and on time

I rang the restaurant 37 times with no answer. My order was missing 2 cans of Dr Pepper and 8 hot wings. My delivery was late and the pizza was cold so definitely not enjoyable to say the least.

The pizza we orded was completely out of taste There was no tomato sause under the cheese. Ans as if the it was one day old pizza .. Even the frozen would taste better ...I was really surprised how it tasted Usually we come to pizza king and order. we would get nice pizza ...its the first time I didn't like the pizza at all.

Food was an hour late - despite when ringing the restaurant, they told me it would be 10 minutes. Food was bland, but too salty. All I ordered was a cheese and tomato pizza & chips so couldn’t understand why it was so late. Feeling very annoyed and children had to wait for their dinner, when they should of been in bed sleeping for school. Diabolical service. Will not order from here again.

Went here last night and was impressed by the new decor, the service and the food was not bad either. All the staff were really pleasant and happy to help. We enjoyed the experience. One thing I did think was a bit off were the wine prices. At £20 for the cheapest bottle of wine in a pub, I think this might put some people off. Much better to also offer house wines as a way to offset this.

I waited almost 3 hours for my delivery, every phone call I made I was told that it had just left the store and that it would be with me in 10 minutes. After 2 1/2 hours they stopped answering the phone to me but picked up immediately when I called from another number. When the food arrived the pizzas were just about edible however the garlic bread and chicken were both freezing cold. Was offered nothing as an apology will definitely not be ordering from here again.

My food was 1 hour 30 minutes late! Customer service from the store was awful! When the food arrived he literally ran away from my door! I came in and opened the food and had the completely wrong order! I ordered cheeseburger, fries and coke meal deal! I received a chicken burger covered in mayonnaise and chips that were cold and hard in the middle and no drink at all! Called the store and they weren’t helpful in the slightest and said “well it’s because it’s a small order there was a delay” Disgusted!!

Ordered three desserts at 7.15pm, which arrived at 8.40pm FROZEN!! A strawberry cheesecake, toffee something or other and a choc fudge cake. Choc cake was going to be warmed anyway. Seriously can’t believe it. We order to eat it immediately, not in 3-4 hrs time!

Restaurant was rude several times when I called and asked for an update on the order. Turned up an hour late, cold and soggy!

The food is good and delivery was on time but garlic herb dip I ordered was missing. Last time the additional corn I added on the pizza was missing. The restaurant needs to look at the order carefully.

Really good food and fast delivery

Not sure what’s going on. Normally everything is great. Not this time. Seafood pizza was missing a few of the toppings. The 14 piece chicken goujons ended up being a few goujons and then some nuggets. They were burnt as well. Must’ve been a bad night?! Not up to their usual good service at all

Plus I got wrong order but I ate it since it was already late just to let you'll know I don't need an discount or anything off for next time just to let you'll know

I ordered a chocolate fudge cake and got the Hanky Panky... the food wasn’t in a bag I just had to pick it out individually out of the courier bag(?), the meat lasagna doesn’t have any meat(yes I know). The food taste good. I’ll give y’all that. But I got an 1/8 of a cake for £3.50😐 I expected like a quarter or half a choco fudge cake. And the lasagna, even though it tastes amazing, and is worth the £5, still doesn’t have meat so... Yh overall I’m not satisfied with the service. But the food bomb. (I wouldn’t say it was worth the wait though)
