The Courtyard Tapas and V Bar in Cheshire East

We arrived at 1745 to find breakfast trays outside nearby rooms absolutely stinking the place out Our evening meal was of a very very poor standard kids could have made these meals better shocking poor service forgot about rain course and when it did arrive some of it missing. Stayed here several times in the past and I can promise you standards have dropped badly so bad I won't be back .

Our waiter Sahadev was amazing he was so kind and polite and he was incredibly funny I will come back again for sure thank you Sahadev

Reception staff very helpful, would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic place to have meetings and have a lunch. The food was great and the service was very good too. The hotel is very new and the lobby area is really good. Recommend this place for meetings and lunch/ Tea break.

The Courtyard Tapas is no longer trading!!!!!!!!! How can a former restaurant still get reviews? I cant see the point of a venue still being on trip advisor, it doesn't help any one.

well worth a visit, loved it, made to feel so welcome and great value for money we will highly recommend but book early as it books up very quickly, which says loads about the great place

No puedo clasificaría como un bar de tapas que por desgracia es puramente un bar/lugar ahora. El bar y el restaurante griĺl al lado todavía sirve comida. No quiero sin perjuicio del bar con una pésima calificación o decir que está cerrado, pero si lo que quieres es comida, no es para ti.

Aunque en principio un poco impactados que era un no es un restaurante bar de vinos, (mi culpa) la sensación era pronto sustituida por la de comodidad debido a la cálida bienvenida. La comida era rápido y era el más sabroso que hemos tenido en nuestra vida.

Reservamos y llevamos a nuestros amigos a este lugar fabuloso un sábado por la noche.

Cuatro de nosotros visitamos el sábado por la noche para comida y bebidas. Gran lugar para tanto, buena comida, servicio y música. Todo el personal es amable y dispuesto a ayudar con opciones de comida.

Visitamos este lugar por primera vez la noche pasada y nos quedamos muy impresionados el bar era muy guay que buscan gran iluminación creado una atmósfera encantadora por la noche. Pedimos 8 platos entre la 2 de nosotros y no nos decepcionó muy bien preparado auténtica comida española todos regados con algunos fantásticos cócteles en el bar. Tipo de tiene un ambiente de vacaciones, ya que pronto te olvidas el sábado en el centro de la ciudad de Congleton. Sin duda, se lo recomendaría a otros. :)

This is my dream place, it was just like being abroad, (weather helped) fantastic cocktails and great really great staff, outdoor seating area is absolutely perfect, we didnt eat here but the tapas going to eating area looked great, definately a bar to return too, IT was really quiet, but still the lounge chilled music gave it a fab atmosphere

A group off friends and I went her on Saturday night.i can't recommend this place enough the food was out of this world and the service was impeccable as was the young man who was singing.what a fantastic voice.we defo be goin back again

just been here for some lunch. Food was excellent , place was clean and the staff were really hospitable. We sat outside in the modern Mediterranean style courtyard. We could have been on holiday. May make it our local as there is live music and beer was cold.

Ate here for our anniversary last week and were very impressed. This Tapas and V Bar is hidden away through an archway - the 'restaurant' side of the bar is small and cosy, ideal for intimate dinners. The cocktails are tasty and well presented and the tapas are ideal for all appetites - we shared 4 dishes with a bottle of rioja which left room for a dessert each. The Portuguese chef & waiter were friendly and helpful, the food was freshly prepared and delicious.If tapas linked to a bar does not suit, don't worry, they are expanding into the building next door to open a restaurant after Easter - and judging by the sample menu we were shown - there will be ample choice for everyone.Would highly recommend trying this place out.

Just had a really good night with excellent food " I recommend the chicken livers btw", the staff were amazing, super friendly and couldn't do enough so really made the night. I noticed a few family's in their so will definitely be returning with my son. I can't recommend it enough to be fair.. So thank you. Ps we stopped for a few cocktails afterwards and there really good, especially the treasure hunt one haha

Restaurant was chosen just 30 mins before we arrived after very late change of plan. We met our son and his fiancée for lunch part way between where we live. Courtyard I am sure on a bright summers day would be great, but walking in to the modern disco / bar I thought this cannot be a restaurant. So if your needs demand a cosy or decorous restaurant this is way off, tables and seating not suitable for more than 2 in a party. However, if you like tapas and don't care about the surroundings you will be impressed by what is on offer, great flavours very good presentation. Owners need to rethink what they want from the place though as the food & decor just do not work together.

My husband & I real enjoyed our Tapas . There's a varied selection and staff very helpful with advice. Oru food was gorgeous , presented beautifully. The service was excellent. Will definitely revisit .

Parking outside and walking over to the entrance gave no clues to this tasty treat. The walk through the courtyard area really gave the impression of a well presented, special place to eat, drink and just be together. Perfectly placed to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we were greeted politely and warmly by the manager and served very attentively by the young waiter. The cocktails we started with were beautiful and as my husband was driving, the waiter made a cocktail up from the sort of things he said he liked with no alcohol -perfect. We were then guided trough the extensive menu as we had not been to a tapas restaurant before. We ordered 5 meals between us and shared everything. Each and every mouthful was gorgeous and the ideal amount of food. By then end of our dining experience we were already planning when to return with our children of 13 and 11...can't wait! Thank you to the manager, the young waiter and compliments to the chef!

We've walked past this place so many times and missed it.Thanks to Trip Advisor and associated reviews we tried it out. WOW! We had 5 dishes between the two of us and additionally those wonderful sweet potato chips (a must). The food was delicious, freshly cooked and top quality. Service was outstanding both from the lady who was super efficient with a good sense of customer service and the lovely Portuguese gentleman who clearly was passionate about both the quality and taste of the food order he was taking. Both excellent representatives of this restaurant.An additional bonus was the cocktails 'buy one get another half price' and there was no skimping on quality and taste. Delightful! The venue and its seating arrangement provided a good balance for couples and also feasible for a slightly larger party.An excellent evening of food, cocktails and service.Hope this review is as useful to you as the previous ones have been in steering us to visit and enjoy a lovely evening of tapas and cocktails.

Visited here Saturday 14th March for early Mother's Day treat. The food and atmosphere were fantastic-great selection and spent several hours sampling the varied menu. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and there is something for everyone. The drinks and food were reasonably priced and we cannot wait to go again ! Highly recommended.

Visited this lovely little restaurant by chance. Would defiantly return after such a fantastic tapas. We ordered garlic mushrooms, fish pie, meatballs & paella, prawn & monkfish skewers & Portuguese chips. Everything was fantastic. The chips are a definite must try. It was nice to have a miniature pie as an option for tapas also. The food was well presented and cooked to perfection. I have to say this was the best meal I've ever had in a tapas bar. Aside from the food the cocktails made by the friendly waiter were also excellent. Even my husband had one they were so good. I would defiantly return to Congleton just to eat here.

This is our second visit to the Courtyard. We have been highly impressed on both occasions. Very friendly staff. We think it would be an ideal venue for business lunches, casual lunches or early evening tapas for people of all ages. Fantastic food cooked from fresh and a good selection of wines and other beverages. Well worth a visit.

Went here with my husband of 25 years for a date night. The service was excellent, the staff very nice and helpful. The food was excellent and not expensive. My only concern was if there were more than two of you the tables wouldn't be big enough. As its a tapas bar you order 3 or 4 dishes each and if there was four of you you wouldn't get all the plates on the table, but for two it was ok.

A gem hidden away from the main road, to access the bar and restaurant you have to walk through the courtyard which is reminiscent of a bar you would spend many relaxing hours away in on holiday - think outside bar, fairy lights, beach hut, atmospheric music. Once inside the venue is split into a restaurant area and a bar/dance floor area with VIP seating upstairs. We visited on a Wendesday night so it was very quiet which was a shame, people should really do more to support local businesses - this is not like a typical franchise chain! The service was outstanding, the cocktails were to die for and the food was even better! And all at very reasonable prices! We were told that the venue is usually busy on a Saturday night but quiet the rest of the week. People of Congleton please do not let this business fail! It's a hidden gem!

Me and my boyfriend eat out- a lot! And we were looking for somewhere a little different to try. Being a big fan of Tapas we decided to head to Vbar after hearing good reviews. We usually only go here on a weekend for drinks so didn't know what to expect. But we were SO impressed. The service was exceptional, the waiter was polite, attentive and made us feel really welcome. We felt like we were on holiday dining in a little Spanish restaurant. They had relaxing jazz music playing which added to the atmosphere. And the food was Devine to say the least. We had 5 dishes from the tapas menu and some of their Portuguese style chips- all delightful. Very well presented. We were both full but needed to try a pudding as the main was so enjoyable. The pavlova we opted for was also a real treat. If you're thinking of going- GO! We can't wait to visit again.

Something for everyone, Im a veggie and the husband is a meat eater and we both were very pleased with our tapas and desert. Lovely place too and the staff were very helpful, would definitely recommend.

We went here as a last minute decision when the place we wanted to go to was closed. We checked TripAdvisor and it was the good reviews that made us go here. It doesn't look like it would be a good place to eat but more of a club/bar from outside, though don't get me wrong, it looks very stylish and as you walk through the archway you feel as though you are abroad! We were very lucky and they squeezed us in. I've had tapas before but this was much better, you could tell it was fresh ingredients and not just thrown together. At first we did think there wouldn't be enough food for us, we ordered 5 between 2 of us and were fairly full after, however, next time we will probably order an extra one. In summary, good choice of dishes, fresh and tasty food all in a nice setting - definitely a place to try and I don't think you will be disappointed! Oh and the cocktails are delicious too!

Went out for a meal with my wife and went to the Courtyard in Congleton, we both found the restaurant to be clean tidy and the staff very friendly, regarding the food it was the best tapas we have had in a long time, cooked prepared and plentiful really worthwhile a visit you will enjoy.We are certainly going to revisit in the next couple of months and take friends to enjoy what we have experienced.

We went on a Wednesday , we were the only diners, god knows why the food was really nice, attentive staff and the chef came and said hello and even told me how he made his piri piri sauce he had sent out with the chicken skewers . If we did visit again we would go at weekend to soak up the atmosphere

The Courtyard is a modern tapas restaurant with attractive outside seating areas. The Staff are very friendly and helpful and there is a good choice of food reasonably priced. The cocktails are good! There is a lively feel to the restaurant with a vocal guitarist. We had an enjoyable evening and the only niggle was the small tables for four of us eating and drinking.

Had a great time here last weekend fabulous food and then partying after. Lovely trendy bar, and traditional tapas that I couldnt fault. Great music, good age mix and my favourite cocktails......perfect can't believe its in Congleton its more like the bars in Alderley Edge

We visited here a couple of weeks ago, tapas was all delicious as were the desserts. Staff were friendly and helpful, we'll definitely be back next time we can get a babysitter!

never tried Tapas before came to the restaurant with my sister and little girl (who is really fussy with food) loved it. food was amazing. staff really friendly and will defo be returning for my mums 50th with all the family and looking forward to it. Great little venue, cosy and inviting inside and a lovely courtyard in the warmer weather. Friendly staff and the food was very tasty. Not the cheapest meal in town- but then tapas takes so much work it's never going to be. Not overpriced though and good quality. Oh - and a great Margarita!

A lovely little place with atmosphere that we'd definitely come time and time again. Calamari was refreshingly crisp and light. The chicken skewers were succulently surprising and the desert was a perfect end. If you like cocktails and good food, then you won't be disappointed.

We visited one weekday lunchtime and we were skeptical as we were the only two people in the entire place! Our skepticism was exacerbated by the restaurant looking more like a club/bar than a rustic Spanish tapas bar, and we did suspect that there might be some sort of scam going on with the Trip Advisor reviews we had seen. The waitress reassured us that we *would* enjoy the food and would not be disappointed.When our dishes arrived (mini pork ribs, followed by a couple of paninis), we were pleasantly surprised. The rib meat was so tender that it fell off the bones, and the beef in the panini was of a similar quality. It was a great combination with the dolcelatte. The food was also nice and hot, including the skinny ("Portuguese") fries.Personally, I think this restaurant needs to promote itself more to pull in the punters (e.g. local advertising; website; menu on the street). Speaking to the waitress it has been open since August. I am a local and had never heard of it until I searched TA. A bit of atmosphere would also have been nice (e.g. Spanish music?), but of course the quality of food should always come first. The Courtyard certainly managed to get that right and exceeded our expectations. We'll definitely be going again and trying more of the tapas dishes.

Went here on Sunday lunch fantastic time, with my sister the food was amazing as was the service by holly. Definitely recommend this gem . If you haven't been yet you Don't know what your missing out on.

This place is amazing, a little gem, we really enjoyed our night with our parents, I'm speaking for all 4 of us, the food was mouthwatering and very tasty, especially the baby ribs :-) the staff are really friendly and helpful with choosing certain dishes, the restaurant is very stylish and a great atmosphere, the Cocktails went down a treat, we will certainly be coming back soon, the Christmas menu looks divine

I visited the Courtyard Tapas for my birthday meal. The food was delicious, proper home made tapas. The bar served professionally made cocktails from scratch they were delicious! Would recommend this place for anyone who enjoys a good night out. They had a singer on also who was great. The staff were friendly and attentive. Will be visiting again soon. Book to avoid disappointment!

4 of us recently went to this restaurant for a family birthday. We enjoyed the cocktails and we all ate tapas. We ordered 8 tapas meals and side of chips and sweet potatoes chips. The variety of the tapas was great with lovely flavour and great value for money. We definitely recommend this restaurant for a meal

Visited earlier today and couldn't wait to write a review. This is the first time I have ever reviewed a business on trip advisor but I was so impressed I felt the need to share! Right from the start on entering the courtyard, first impressions were that it is a tastefully decorated and immaculate place to eat. The menu was great consisting mainly of tapas dishes, which I personally adore, and had a good selection of vegetarian dishes too. We ordered the chicken and chorizo skewers with fries and this was delicious! The fries were the best I have ever tasted and it was beautifully presented! My friend had the cheese and pesto panini which he thoroughly enjoyed and our other friends had a selection of tapas dishes which we all shared. Wow! We were so impressed with these tasty little treats that we ended up ordering more! It took me right back to the beach side tapas bars I used in Spain on holidays and you could tell that each dish had been made from scratch and not just brought in from 3663 food service or similar. The prices were very reasonable and all the staff were absolutely lovely! I'm really glad we called into this hidden gem and we will most certainly be returning! Give this place a go... They deserve your custom and you deserve their quality! Suwee and Ricardo, this place is a credit to you! See you again soon :)

Tapas was fantastic as was the service. It was a shame there weren't larger tables, we were a party of 9 who were squashed around 2 separate small circular tables. Definitely recommend the food though :-)

Poped in here for a lite lunch. Great choice resonabable priced. Intend to go back to try the rest of the menu but the ribs were melt in your mouth mmmm

The food here is excellent, the food is top quality and I thoroughly enjoyed all of it! The drinks are really nice, with a wide ranged cocktail list. Everything is a reasonable price. With a great atmosphere and great staff! Will defiantly be going back.

This place is fab! Cocktails are great and you can even have a little dance later on. It has a lovely court yard. I have not eaten here but will definatley be giving it a try!

The outdoor seating area in the courtyard had a lovely atmosphere, the staff were very attentive to taking orders and serving drinks. Later in the evening we were taken through to the VIP area. Good music and cocktails. Can't wait to go back to try the tapas

It was a Saturday night and we had booked a table to try the Tapas. We decided to sit outside with the patio heaters because the tables are like booths and it wouldn't have fit 8 of us in one booth but it was fine outside. The Tapas were lovely because there were 8 of us we tried most things. It was all very nice food and very reasonable at £55 per couple including drinks! The Prosecco is a bit pricey which was a shame so we switched to white wine. It was also very quiet though and I don't think the word has got out that it's open for food and not just a bar you go to later on.

went to the tapas bar last week, food was excellent best we have ever had, reasonably priced, good choice of food and the sweet was out of this world. I would advise anyone to go and try it.you don't know what you are missing.

The restaurant only opened at the start of August although the bar has been running for some time. We went for a Saturday Lunch and again on a Thursday Evening. On the Thursday Evening they have a guitarist playing relaxing well known ballads who is very good. The food is freshly cooked when ordered but the wait isn't too long. The food is excellent, everything beautifully cooked and there is no over use of seasonings. If you have any allergies or dietary requirements the chef is only too happy to oblige. The waitresses know the menu well and will suggest dishes that blend with others, they give great service but aren't too obtrusive. The owner is happy to help you also with choosing your food and wine and is the perfect host.The Inside restaurant is very comfortable and relaxing with new decor but it is also possible to eat outside in the courtyard which is well lit and has patio heaters.
