We have been many times for the all day breakfast, it is very good and great value for money. Well done to Sam for working hard to keep a small village pub open.

My friend had a fabulous Sunday Roast, consisted of thickly sliced roast beef, roast and mash potatoes, carrots, green beans, cabbage and peas, accompanied with a separate dish of cauliflower cheese, jug of gravy and a very large homemade Yorkshire pudding that she said "was to die for" I had a baked potato with prawns and a lovely side salad, which was great, couldn't fault it. It was a hot day so sat outside to eat and watch the world go by. Very tranquil despite being next to the road. The staff, although only young, were absolutely fantastic and know how to engage with the customers and a credit to the place. Will we return again, you bet we will 10/10

Staying close to the inn we enjoyed two excellent breakfasts with very generous portions and good quality local sausages and bacon . If you like a traditional Full English breakfast then this is the place for you! Evenings were enjoyable too with a nice pint of Timothy Taylor’s cask beer and a range of pub food dishes which were all reasonably priced and hearty . The new refurbishment is smart and clean and the young staff are attentive. Well done to the new owner who work’s incredibly hard 7 days a week .

Stayed for one night with a colleague on business. The new owner is lovely and can't do enough for you. Newly refurbished rooms with contemporary furniture were very comfortable and clean. Tea/coffee/mini fridge provided. Only thing missing was a full length mirror. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order with a good choice. We also ate here twice in the evening, plenty of choice and good portion sizes. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Overall a great stay and very reasonably priced. I would stay again.

Fantastic place to eat! We really loved their ‘build your own’ sections of the menu, felt really bespoke and unique. Service was lovely and staff were amazing- really took the time to talk to us and our dog!

We were welcomed warmly Thursday evening. Food was great value for money and very tasty. Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed a selection of drinks on draught too. Looking forward to going back again.

Excellent service and delicious food. So glad this is now on our doorstep. We both enjoyed the ‘build your own burger’ and are looking forward to sampling other delights on the extensive menu. Can’t wait to visit again soon with the whole family.

Came to this pub at Sunday lunchtime, and was immediately impressed. The decor is modern, yet reflects the pub’s history with plenty of wood, beams and an open fire in the snug. The staff were very welcoming and laid back - there was no pressure to order, yet they were attentive when required. The menu was an eye-opener! You expect traditional pub food and there was tradition in spades, from classics such as Scampi and gammon steaks to baguettes and lighter bites. There are also a few originals, including their own beef Cumberland sausages and a 12oz Ribeye steak so tender that the proffered steak knife was redundant. I have to say that this was one of the best steaks I have ever tried. As it was Sunday Lunchtime, there was of course a Set Sunday lunch, on this occasion Roast Beef. Ordered by an adjacent table of 4, all plates were completely cleared. For non traditional diners, there is the “build your own” section of the menu, offering a huge range of options to add to burgers, hot dogs, baguettes - even waffles, both sweet and savoury. Although not from this area, I will definitely come back and also will recommend it to anyone who is coming up this way.

Lovely friendly family run business. The cakes are exceptional, so much so we asked them to bake one for our Nieces 18th and it did not disappoint. You can go to Costa Coffee and pay much more for a
