King Shawarma in Wirral

Fantastic food at affordable prices and nice friendly service. Would definitely recommend and I’ll certainly be going back.

I love this place and always pop in for lunch when I'm in the area. I always have the Chicken Shawarma and salad in their freshly cooked flatbread - which they always cook a little longer for me as they know I like them a little crispy on the outside! The food is always fresh and tasty, with a nice crisp salad and a selection of sauces, their 'Special' sauce is the one I go for. Staff are always super friendly and polite. I've never had to wait longer than a couple of minutes to be served and after my order has been taken, my Shawarma is ready in just a few minutes. I've only ever been during the day though so I imagine it can get busier in the evening. I recently tried another so called shawarma from another take away that was much closer to home - not a shawarma at all! They just chopped up bits of chicken, cooked it on a hot plate and then stuck it inside a supermarket wrap! Apart from that not being a shawarma kebab, it tasted awful and it wasn't served in a freshly cooked flatbread! That'll teach me to try elsewhere, not anymore, I'm sticking to King Shawarma even though it isn't very local to me. As another reviewer here mentioned, a certain large food chain is just across the road - save your money and try the Shawarma here, less expensive, much tastier, freshly cooked and a lot healthier too.

Took around 13 minutes to even be acknowledged by staff to see what I wanted to order. Even though the shop had 3 people in it. After I asked him for one thing and he said are you sure you don’t want a pizza instead. To which I said no! From that point, I wasn’t even acknowledged by the staff or told how much longer to wait, I was there 30 minutes before I walked out, with nothing I ordered. Do not waste your time on going here.

I had walked past many times previously, and had always commented on how clean it was and how fresh the ingredients in the salad bar looked. My son had visited the previous week and gave them rave reviews to me. So, I decided why not, he is a picky eater and rarely gives anywhere a thumbs up unless it’s a burger. I decided to go with the lamb shawarma wrap, as not many places do lamb. The staff were very polite, friendly and welcoming, they took my order and we took a seat while we waited, the service did take a while, but they were very busy and considering they were cooking the wraps and breads in a tandoor to order, you can't really complain. The staff member called me over to ask what salad and sauce I would like after apologizing for my wait. My fillings were put into my freshly cooked wrap and rolled up in paper and presented to me with seasoned fries. I have to say that I was so pleasantly surprised when I bit into the wrap, crisp fresh salad, deliciously moist and juicy lamb mixed with chili sauce, pickled red cabbage and pickled green chili was a flavour explosion in my mouth, mouthful after mouthful of pure deliciousness, the portions are really generous too, so much so I could not finish my fries! As for value for money, you really can't go wrong, the wrap and fries only cost £5.50 and filled me to the brim, there's a well-known golden arched burger joint only a couple of hundred meters away that I rarely frequent as I am not a fan of McCrap, save your wallet and your waistline visiting these guys, as there food and service is the one that is truly golden!

Food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Chicken wrap was very tasty and salad was fresh. Lamb is very popular go late in the day and it is always sold out

Amazing food. Chicken shawarma was delicious and the fresh salad was crunchy. Pickled red cabbage a highlight! Best part was the handmade naans though.
