Kineton Fish And Chip Shop in Stratford-on-Avon

I had this meal brought to me by a friend. Two battered sausages and small chips, worst I have ever had the batter, on the sausage was horrible and chips looked like they were all scraps. I haven't been there for a few months and it was ok then. Will not buy from there again.

Shocking food. Absolutely vile. Chicken tikka naan, Some of the chicken seemed fresh. some of it was like rock Naan bread only edible around the outside, the middle completely rock solid and inedible (probably the way its been heated from frozen

We moved to Tysoe 2 weeks ago and popped to Kineton Fish Bar as its the most local one to us The staff were lovely , the shop was exceptionally clean and the food, well we only had a large doner meat and chips with salad and a large curry sauce but i have to say it was beautiful and to the owner (i Think) who said to me that i did not ask about his curry sauce as i mentioned i had irish curry sauce from a chip shop we used before we moved yours was delicious and just the same as the irish curry sauce so i apologise to you. Lovely fish and chips and curry sauce was the best I’d tasted. My son and girlfriend had veg options and both said were lovely. Everyone really enjoyed their food and that’s saying something as we live close to the coast and the fish and chips are really good only exception my poor daughter did not get her battered sausage but it was quite a big order we gave them. All in all very very positive review

Upon opening my container, there was no food in the container, only handcuffs. Should of had burger and chips. I now a pair of handcuffs but I'm stil hungry.

This is the Best Fish and Chip takeaway I’ve ever had and I’ve had lots, the quality of the fish is amazing, the taste of the batter is devine. Would thoroughly recommend, but then 🤫 I suppose it will make the queue longer. But seriously with a little bit of patience, don’t be put of. You will seriously not be disappointed.

Super slick operation, all cooked fresh and top quality - best F&C for miles and the Doner Kebabs are punching! Order online and book a collection time, otherwise expect a wait on the pavement!

Everything is cooked to ordered great tasting chips also does meal deals can fault the prices of the food and drinks I’d give 5/5

Great fish and chips and friendly hard working staff. Our favourite local go to place for F&C. Great also that you can book your order on the phone although slightly confusing when you turn up to collect whether you join queue or not.

Was looking for something different for lunch than sandwiches so decided on a burger. The next issue was how far did I want to travel to find one. Decided to ring the Kineton Chippy partly because it was 1:50 and though they might close. (Open 12-9 actually) - and ordered a burger, salad, fried onions and burger sauce. Had thought it would be deep fried but I was pleasantly surprised when they cooked it in a hot plate. Food was ready, they put into tin foil as well to keep warm on the way home. Anyway, was a really tasty burger with fresh salad.. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will be back again thanks.

What a fabulous experience today. Warm and friendly greeting from the lovely couple running the shop and amazing food. Everything is freshly made to order and was cooked perfectly, the portions were generous and very tasty. Definitely one of the highlights of our holiday, my only complaint is that I’m not local so can’t visit regularly!

Me, my sisters and my mum have come to stay in Kineton for my sisters wedding and we all decided on a fish and chips for a nice and easy dinner the fish and chips were so tasty and the portions were massive!! They also had great veggie options for my sister! They were all so lovely in there, very warm and welcoming and even greeted my sister by name who pre-ordered over the phone! Everyone working said hello and delivered a great experience. We highly recommend them and if we’re ever in the local area again (I’m sure we will be) we will be going for another fish and chips!

Great fish and chips, first visit to shop, made to feel welcome. The fish (we had both cod and haddock) was large and tasted great, chips, mushy peas and curry sauce were all very tasty. Highly recommend

Wow! Delicious cod & chips, the way F&C should be, served by a really friendly home team. Their supporting menu guarantees that I will return. There’s something for everyone. Preordered food is produced just before the chosen time so piping hot and freshly cooked.

Called in for good old fish & chips and boy the cod was good. Really friendly people too, great to have a good old chat again! And there's a couple of small shops up the road selling cider too!

Fantastic fish and chips. I’m new to the village and went down on a Friday night during the Coronavirus scare and they were the friendliest bunch of people I’ve ever been served by. The fish and chips were really good too. Will certainly return!

Have been coming back for more every other Thursday eve for last 4 years. Never been disappointed, and fish always cooked fresh each time. Great little shop...and friendly staff to boot!

Stopped by whilst passing through the village. Good service, polite staff and excellent Cod & Chips. Quality and portion size very good, and piping hot.Only negative was the wait due to the Friday night queue, but that only went to prove the popularity of the place. Will definetly use again if passing.

Stopped by for Fish & Chips after a recent visit to the area. Quaint little place. Good service followed by really tasty Fish & Chips which were both pipping hot. Very good.

Good food, big portions, prices reasonable. Just a bit of a delay waiting while they cooked it (but at least you know it's freshly cooked).

If I go into a chip shop and see fish under the warming light that have obviously been there for a while I will turn around and go elsewhere. No danger of that here, and no hardship to wait while the fish is freshly cooked as the staff are so friendly. Never been disappointed.

Ordered cod and chips with mushy peas. Your order is cooked while you wait, and the portions were large and the quality is second to none. Nothing more can be said except "try it".

Great food, friendly staff and good portions make this small chippie in Kineton the opposite of the Wellesbourne chip shop just down the road. Unlike Wellesbourne the staff are friendly , there are no signs up listing what you cant do in the shop, the chips are not soggy and the staff are not sullen. Prices are pretty good and nothing is too much trouble for the staff who really do provide great service.

Chips and pies are pretty nice but not extraordinary, exactly how you would expect, but there are no donner kebabs. Cant comment on the fish. Looks a bit grotty from the outside but it's reasonably clean inside.

Regular visitor as a treat on Thursdays usually. Always well cooked food and fairly fast service. Could improve by removing styrofoam trays from the packaging as they are un-recyclable! But overall best chip shop in the area!

This Fish and Chip shop offers all the usual that you would expect and is worth the drive to get there. Very friendly staff. Good portion sizes. Parking can be tricky but don’t let it put you off. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent chippy. People travel from miles around. The food is usually very freshly cooked, with many items cooked to order. I have never had bad food from this establishment. They do take telephone riders, which can save time, particularly when they are busy. The shop space is quite small, which may mean queuing outside, and a wait, but worth it.

This chip shop (Kineton) is further away from me than Wellesbourne fish and chip shop but the difference between the 2 is massive. Wellesbourne-miserable moody staff-signs everywhere telling you we don't do this, please don't do that-we don't accept debit cards or £50 notes, turn your mobile off(I can go with this), no parking in front of the shop, don't sit your kids on the counter-don't pick at the chips, no bikes etc etc etc........and to top it all off the most stingy portions you will ever have! More like being invited into a prison with all the rules than being a customer buying his food!PLEASE NOTE I AM TALKING ABOUT WELLESBOURNE FISH AND CHIP SHOP HERE.Now Kineton is the exact opposite,owned by a polite Indian family that cook to order so there may be a bit of a wait but you know then that it is fresh. Reasonable pricing/nice food and decent portions!Strange that there are no reviews for Wellesbourne chip shop when searching but plenty of reviews for Kineton chip shop .

Much improved - all fish is cooked to order so very fresh with crispy batter and a good choice of other dishes for non fish eaters. Portions are big - a standard chips easily does two people. Be prepared for a queue most evenings.

Much improved since changing hands. We get our dinner there every Friday. Good if you live in walking distance, but parking can be a problem if you need to drive.

Kineton fish and chip shop have improved under new management. The food is delicious and they cook everything fresh while you wait. I would recommend them to anyone wanting quality takeaway food as this is one you will keep coming back too.

These people deserve credit for a great little fish and chip bar. Brilliant fresh fish and chips. Had Haddock and cod and previously pies and savaloys all the traditional food cooked and tasted bloomin marvelous!

First night of our short stay in the village so picked up a take away from here, very reasonable and tasted beautiful. Looks as if it's a popular place for the locals as it got busy while we were waiting. Highly recommend.

Had to wait while fish was cooked but at least you know its not leftovers from lunch time. The portions are really big and the food is excellent. The fish and chips are not greasy in any way and the batter coverage is just enough. Tip given is a portion of chips will serve 2 adequately keep up the good work guys

since new owners took over a few months ago this chip shop is excellent, wonderful food and down fall is currently you have to wait on food to be cooked, i'm not sure if this is only while they see how business does as in which is their busiest nights etc.. but i do recommend at the moment you call and order before collecting :)

Although the batter could be a little crispier at times, the fish always tastes fresh here, and the portion sizes are decent for the price you pay. The menu has recently expanded to include pizza and there are some little extras like pickled onions, curry sauce, gravy or crab claws to keep us interested. Heaps better than under previous ownership, for sure. I wouldn't say we are regulars, but it's certainly our first stop of choice on the occasions when we do have fish and chips.

Its a pity I can only say its ok. There is nothing special to mention. It is certainly a 100% better than when it was owned by the previous guy but it does not match up to the ones in Banbury. The fish is very average size if not on the small side and chips are just ok.
