KILO|ZIRO Cafe Bar & Refill Taproom in Birmingham

22 of us attended KiloZiro for our friend’s 50th birthday celebrations. We had the most amazing time! The booking process was easy, the owner Jeanette was very accommodating and was contactable, which when organising an event for that many people when you’re not used to it, it’s very reassuring. The Signature afternoon tea was delicious, very in sync with the season and venue. It was a nice touch that the servers kindly explained where our food was sourced and how this contributes to sustainability. The servers were always available and checked on us multiple times, no one was without a drink or waiting for anyone to come over. It was a beautiful afternoon and a perfect setting for a catch up with friends and an opportunity to celebrate a special day. Thank you so much :)

Best afternoon we have had ❤️ I booked and afternoon tea for me and my mum, we turned off and were seated then all of the menu and extras were explained to us. The afternoon tea itself was so yummy, nothing like the usual sandwiches, pastries were warm and flavourful. The scones came out after, they were warm and pre-cut for us so no mess (the small things!) and came with clotted cream and jam. We didn't feel rushed and enjoyed a glass of wine after. Staff were lovely, very chilled atmosphere. Will certainly go back!

Nice cafe has a bar feel to the inside nice selection of drinks and food only open a few days a week but we'll worth a visit do a really nice martini coffee my wife loved it

We celebrated our wedding party in Kilo Zero, and I would say our experience was incredibly amazing. The place is indeed beautiful, so we didn't get stressed with the set-up. It is truly a good venue for special events, and the most important thing is that they have the nicest and most helpful staff. Kudos to Jamie and Mark, who've been very nice and helpful. We really appreciate you two. Thank you so much for staying with us from the start to the end of our party.

Really delicious afternoon tea for a special occasion, the choices are something a bit different to what you might usually get (no finger sandwiches!) but it was super tasty and a good talking point. Very generous as well for the price including a drink. Service was great and very flexible dealing with us as a larger group.

This is the best afternoon tea in Birmingham hands down! We booked last minute and the staff were very accommodating. Everything is very unique, and the scones are huge and warm. Great selection of drinks with free refills of tea, and the service was super friendly. The ingredients are locally sourced and the savoury items were delicious, way better than standard boring sandwiches! The sweet items were the perfect amount of sweetness, and not sickly sweet. Was also pleasantly surprised that the scones were an entire separate “course”, but it wasn’t too much portion wise, which was great. I would come back here again for sure.

I booked Kilo Ziro for a private party in July. The whole process, from an initial enquiry through to the event itself was really smooth and easy. Jeanette, Tom and the team were super helpful and made sure that everying had been thought through. The bar is the perfect size for a private party and all the comments I had from friends were about how good the venue is and how nice the food was etc. I couldn't recommend highly enough.

A very special little place with a warming atmosphere. We had afternoon tea here with my family and the food was well made and generous portions (all though not overboard!) We felt very welcomed and grateful to the staff for making it a memorable afternoon.

Hosted my sister's baby shower here and it was perfect! They gave us plenty of space, were helpful and patient while we set up the space and the food was delicious! Highly recommend ☺️

Gorgeous food and decor, the drinks are good... but just not quite fully there. The staff are pleasant enough, but there was a general lack of organisation on a relatively quiet afternoon; we had to remind staff about drinks orders (which then took a while to come) and also reminders for the bill, whilst our table was still not cleared as we left. I genuinely love and support the concept (as someone with low waste principles also), but the lasting impression I get from KZ is that it's lacking solid hospitality expertise. A little TLC in this area would make a huge impact on the customer experience.

A lovely cafe with quality food and drinks. I would recommend the wine and cheese tasting, which was informative and excellent value for money. This does not appear to be advertised on the website, but just give Kilo Ziro a call direct to book.

Had an excellent Mother’s Day afternoon tea. We had the vegan option which was fantastic - probably the best afternoon tea we’ve ever had. Loved the atmosphere and the service was too quality. A great selection of local beers on tap too! Would highly recommend and will be back soon!

Had my birthday party at this venue on Saturday and it went above and beyond my expectations. From the chic decor to the outstanding service we received. The management and staff were so attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them - we honestly couldn’t have asked for more. Will definitely be recommending this little gem of a place to family and friends for the future. 10/10

We stopped in for some sharing platters and some hot drinks. There is a great atmosphere in this lovely location, the food was really tasty and team very friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a snack or a meal.

Had a very special afternoon tea to celebrate our anniversary. Delicious savouries - not a sandwich in sight and gorgeous sweet treats too. Friendly service, relaxed atmosphere with great music and great food. Definitely recommend.

I come here quite often but today I came for the Valentine's Afternoon Tea and it was beyond exceptional! The pastries and sweet treats were absolutely divine, the seasonal cocktail was wonderful and the whole set-up was organized perfectly. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, making out visit even more worthwhile. I would 100% recommend for anyone looking for the best afternoon tea they have ever tried 😄

Came here for Valentine’s Day and it was incredible, had a pianist who was taking requests and took them all, made our valentines really special would defo recommend this venue for anyone

This place is a must try! We had the cocktail of the week pineapple wine and it was honestly the nicest cocktail I've ever drank. The brownies were gorgeous and the sausage rolls. The decor was lovely and the staff were superb. Definitely recommend giving this place a try!

Visited last night for the wine & jazz night. Lovely place, lovely staff and lovely ethos! Great selection of wine, beer and (especially) cocktails. Didn't try any food, but will definitely go again to an afternoon tea. The loos were impeccable! Loved the zero waste wine machine!

Me and my partner visited for a jazz night wine tasting event and neither of us had ever been inside. We were pleasantly surprised by the warm atmosphere and kindness from the staff. The owner Tom was very polite, lovely and very knowledgeable about the wine we were trying and all in all we had such a lovely time. Highly recommend for a lovely night out or a casual relaxing date.

I visited here on a recent visit to Birmingham. I'd heard about their vegan, Christmas, afternoon tea menu via Birmingham Vegans fb group. The servers were v.friendly and met all of our needs, checking if there were any allergies. We ate mini bites with tea and alcoholic beverages, too. In the bathroom, it advertises special events occurring throughout the week. I'd revisit this restaurant.

Hosted a private party at Kilo Ziro and they were absolutely amazing. The bar is so tastefully decorated and stylish. The owners couldn’t be any more accommodating helping us sort out catering, decor and a saxophonist! In the run up to the event the team were great answering questions and getting all the information they needed. On the night they were amazing - friendly bar staff, bespoke delicious cocktails and a really good vibe. Would really recommend for private hire but also look forward to returning to try some of their delicious cocktails! We had the best night ever - thank you Kilo Ziro

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea for 3 on Sunday 19 Nov … food was innovative and delicious, service excellent, and the bar has a great atmosphere… enhanced on this occasion by a piano soloist. The soundtrack is always good at the bar, but the live performance was a real bonus!! Well done to all involved!!

Booked the Christmas afternoon tea and thoroughly enjoyed it and made extra special that our wedding pianist was also there providing the music. Will definitely be coming back to try some of their cocktails at some point.

The staff are amazing, the cocktails are exceptional, good choice of local beers and wine on tap for self-service. Beautiful location my only caveat would be I would like more options for classic cocktails such as Negronis and such.

The perfect venue to hire. We hired this venue for a private party and it couldn’t have been better. The booking process was perfect with great communication for how we would like everything to be set up, from the floorplan/table arrangement to the lighting and atmosphere. The team that looked after us on the night could not have been better and were doing everything they could to ensure that we had the best night! It is an absolutely beautiful venue with excellent drinks, food and staff. Thank you again to the amazing team that looked after us - 100% would recommend!

This place has a good feel to it. It's located at The Custard Factory on the Digbeth Road. I had a espresso martini and some hummus with pitta.

I've just had tea and cakes here. This was the old Clean Kilo shop and owned by the same people. It still follows the green ethos of the shop, such as sourcing locally. The café is beautifully designed and it's relaxing sitting on the sofas. There are tables too and you can take your laptop. The staff are very friendly.

Perfect place for a quiet meeting

I had the vegetarian afternoon tea this past weekend. It was the first time I’ve done such a thing and it was delicious! I did not miss the traditional sandwiches at all. The Japanese milk bread with cheesy herbal filling was to die for. The Victoria sponge was such good quality, I asked for the name of the bakery . The brownie/Blondie bites were also good. I had iced coffee, but there’s also an upgrade with 3 refills of Prosecco or a cocktail available.

Ordered the afternoon tea and had the best time! Food delicious, service really great from Hayden and lovely ambience/vibes. Will be returning!

We went for cocktails and loved that they used products that otherwise would go to waste. Such a good idea and they were absolutely delicious! Also very reasonably priced compared to most cocktails bars in Bham.

I held a private event at Kilo Ziro recently and everyone had a wonderful time, the venue is gorgeous, the staff can't do enough for you and the food/drink was fantastic. I honestly can't wait to go back. Highly recommend popping into this hidden gem for wine tasting, afternoon tea, a quick G&T or just a coffee and cake!

Delicious cocktails lovingly crafted by the extremely knowledgeable and friendly bar staff. It also boasts a wide selection of craft beer and wine. The cheeseboard was phenomenal, the olives were to die for, and the artisan truffles were probably the most pleasurable things I've ever put in my mouth. There's a lot of passion in this place, and it certainly shows. Can't recommend it enough. Happy birthday, guys!

Locally sourced sophistication. At its heart Kilo Zero is cocktail lounge that supports local and independent purveyors of wines, beers and spirits. It prepares a chocolate bomb coffee too. Luxurious, comfortable, bright. The lounge atmosphere will keep you chilled till sun down.

I'm a fan of Clean Kilo and love their supermarket. I've been a couple of times to the cafe and it has all the right elements - nice decor, friendly staff, lovely coffee - but I'm not 100 sold. Both times the order was missing something. The atmosphere is just slightly dead and I can't quite figure it out, but I'd still support it for a fly by drink. Do use the supermarket though as it's wonderful!

I had the pleasure of hosting my baby shower at Kilo Ziro after being let down by a large brand based in the city centre. I can’t speak more highly of Jeanette who was amazing to deal with and incredibly helpful and accommodating who made planning the shower completely stress-free. We had such a wonderful day that was made even more amazing by the fantastic team and beautiful interior The food (afternoon tea) was absolutely delicious; one of the best I’ve had and the cocktails (including non alcoholic) were fantastic.

Went to the afternoon comedy show with afternoon tea included. Most of the comedians were funny and the one that wasn't still made us laugh because he was bad 🤣

Lovely owners who helped to set up a company Christmas party and went the extra mile to make sure we were happy and well served. Communication beforehand was great and they even prepared a bespoke buffet for us which was way more than your standard finger food. I would definitely recommend as a great venue for an event for up to around 40-50 people.

Un sitio donde tomarse un café espectacular en una de las zonas más interesantes de Birgmingham Probamos el double espresso y el café latte y ambos eran auténticas muestras de lo que debe ser un café. El espresso tenía el punto perfecto de acidez y sabor a cacao, con un puntito de amargor ajustado al final. El barista realmente consiguió sacar todo lo bueno del café y ponerlo en una taza que posiblemente sea una de las mejores que he tomado en mucho tiempo. El café con leche mezcla lo bueno del café y le da otra perspectiva con leche que se nota que no es leche de hostelería recalentada. Sabores suaves, mantequillosos y con una textura bien suave. Muchos locales de café de tercera ola de Barcelona sueñan con hacer un café tan bueno y con tan pocas pretensiones como este. Precio muy respetable para la calidad del producto. Si eres un amante del café que se toma sus tazas muy en serio, KILO|ZIRO te encantará.

Just lovely. Zero waste but no compromise on quality. Friendly, cosy and a great selection of drinks and food. We got the bus into town and walked down, which is an easy walk, and worth it if you want to use public transport. Already planning on coming back

The afternoon tea is definitely one of the best I've had and our guests all commented on how lovely it was - we will definitely be returning and cannot wait to come back! We hired Kilo Ziro for our engagement party and had a lovely evening. Jeanette was extremely helpful from when we originally enquired and with communication up until the day. All our guests loved the venue as none of us had been before, the locally sourced drinks were great and the wine taps went down really well. Food was amazing also, we got plenty for what we paid for so overall very satisfied with our decision to choose Kilo Ziro for our party.

I've had a lot of afternoon teas but this was definitely the best; carefully considered savouries that aren't just egg cress or a bit of cucumber and cheese, and they were all fresh and tasty. Decor was gorgeous and every staff member there was friendly. Also had the chance to talk to Jeanette, the owner, who was really friendly and passionate about clean kilo and kilo ziro's ethos. Will definitely come back again :)

Went on a Saturday daytime for a cream tea, after waiting a while the tea arrived but had to remind the staff member about the scones. He came back to us to say he could not find the scones. Hi, we have recently been back for our cream tea and it was delicious. We even tried the daikari. The service was excellent. We will be coming back again. Thank you Jeanette and Tom for inviting us back again we had a lovely afternoon.

A very cool bar that focuses on reducing waste and carbon footprint. It's beautifully decorated inside (the owner explained that they'd even used recycled materials and furniture) but it was a lovely warm day so we chose their outdoor seating. I had one of their signature G&Ts with 'carbon negative' gin and we got a cheese board for two. The cheeses and olives were delicious and the oils that came with the bread were amazing! The staff were really friendly. We'll definitely be back for a wine tasting from the tap wall. We also really want to try their mindful cocktails that make use of surplus produce from their zero waste shop Clean Kilo.

Went for the first time on Friday evening. Had live Jazz music playing. Such a nice place with a really great relaxing atmosphere. Not a fan of you run of the mill pubs and this certainly is not one of them. They pride themselves on trying to achieve zero waste and a carbon neutral footprint as much as they can. They have a wine tap wall with a lot of selection. You can do small tasters of all the wines so you could essentially bring a group of friends and have a wine tasting session :) all of the drinks and produce appear to be locally sourced. the cheese board with oils was amazing. Me and the wife was enjoying it that much we called my parents down to join us for a couple of hours. Highly recommend and will definitely visit again. The passion for the place really shows through in the staff and they are all happy explain everything about how the place works. They also have a great cocktail maker (I'm sure there's a name for that buy not sure lol) yeah he can make you anything you like and they even use any left over fruit and veg from there zero waste shop to make some of the cocktails. Definitely go with the other half one evening.

Went to this venue this evening, drawn in by the saxophone playing on the steps to this beautiful venue. Amazing hosts who were extremely helpful and friendly. Will definately be revisting as it gives a warm presence the minute you walk through the door. Perfect decor, definately a cut above the rest! Lovely staff too!

Amazing experience, the team are all very informative and knowledgeable. Hugo led us through our wine & cheese tasting experience which was fantastic, I'd reccomend it to anyone. We will certainly be back again and again!

This bar is absolutely beautiful and really comfy inside. You can tell they put a lot of effort into creating such a nice space. The cocktails were fantastic as well. I do think they are a little more expensive than I would normally spend, but everything is locally sourced so I’m happy to spend the money to support smaller business and try new things. We’ll worth a visit!

The clean kilo has been transformed into a beautiful bar/lounge space! Gorgeous decor, chill vibe, great selection of drinks, and lovely staff. What’s not to like! I particularly love the wine taps where you can choose different sized measures of wine, including a taster amount (25ml) so you don’t end up paying for a full glass that you might not like. Can’t wait to come back

Very cool, the wines are great, cocktails great-er, but the cheese board was outstanding...the enfused dipping oils to go with the bread really special (the bread seemed too dry, needing toasting, but actually perfect when dipped as intended). :)
