Kibbeling in Redbridge

I am a new customer via Just Eat and have been very pleased with the service, the food and the price for the last 4 weeks. Today I found out it is closing down permanently tomorrow. What a shame. Good luck to all who work there.

In my recent endeavour to place a telephone order with Kibbeling, I was met with a profoundly disheartening episode of customer service. The lady handling my call exhibited a tone and employed a choice of language that left me utterly appalled. Such an unpleasant and disrespectful interaction compelled me to seek an alternative dining option, thereby preventing me from experiencing the culinary offerings of the establishment. While I cannot opine on the quality of their fare, I must caution prospective patrons that, in their quest for culinary delights, they may desire to exercise discernment, as the quality of service may not align with their expectations. Zero stars all around

Their fries are tasteless, abit dark in colour and their cod fish tastes like fake fibre with a 1% mixture of fish oil ... Everything is fake and not even suitable for human consumption... I threw my dinner from kibbeling in the bin.. I can’t advice anyone even for free

Best fish & chips, good size cider, chunky chips good portions. Perfect taste quality excellent price great. Apart from that sell all other fish and other dishes. Both Husbamd and wife very good customer service. Friendly service make you go back repeatedly for service and food at a great price.

Walked in and ordered a medium portion of kibbeling with chips. After a short wait, the food arrived. The portion was pretty good for what you pay for. The fish tasted really nice and was cooked and prepared well. The chips too were great and enjoyed this. Would’ve liked it if the fish was just slightly crispier, but that is a personal preference. The accompanied tartare sauce is, of course, paired perfectly with the fish. Not sure on the authenticity of the kibbeling, but I really enjoyed the meal and would recommend for anyone looking for a quick bite.

Good place in Newbury park and nearby areas for fish lovers. Owner couple are kind persons and run this awesome place. Definitely a place if you want something which is way better than regular fish/chips and value for money!

Always blows me away. Ate inside and the portion sizes were big. The Tornado Shrimp was amazing and the sweet chilli dip is too die for. The kibbeling can feed 2-3 people depending on the size you get.Shockingly cheap. 5 pieces of kibbeling fish for £3. Definitely my top fish restaurant in all of london. It’s like i took a fight to The Hague and had fish there. The food was mesmerising and is a must visit to anyone in the area.

Went to Kibbeling a year and half ago and was really impressed with the quality of food, portion sizes and great service and value. Went back today and was equally impressed and will be returning. Only complaint is my wife says I put to much weight on with there generous portions. Highly recommend there kibbeling and chips, marvellous. Thank you.

Not sure what those positive reviews are about. I just ordered Mixed Donner through uber eats and its going in a Bin. Food smells like cardboard and lamb donner has some strong smell. I feel sick now, not ordering again.

Great friendly service with delicious food. Portion sizes are huge with great value for money and there is always something new on the menu to try! The interior of the shop is also very well maintained.

I asked for extra salad and I got extra salad. so far Ive had kibbeling, plaice, cod and chicken shish on differnt occasions from here. on the value to quality they are the best in the area.

Great fish and chips with a slight Dutch twist! Only found this as Serenes was closed one day, but ever since never been to any other fish and chips since. The Kibbeling small portion and chips are hugge! Can feed 2 regular sized adults easily.. Do make sure to switch chips to Dutch style chips and always get the Dutch mayonnaise with onions you'll never regret it!

Ordered 2 cod and chips, the prices are slightly on the steep side at £10 for cod and chips without a drink, however the cod was tasty, the batter was crispy and the size of the cod was generous, the chips were nice and crispy too. The portion size for the chips was average. All in all I would return here again, i would opt to give it 5 stars but because of the steep pricing it loses 1 star for me.

After reading the reviews and looking for to receiving my delivery via Uber eats, I have to say it was disappointing. Neither the fish or chips were crispy, and really don't know what the Dutch fries are meant to be. On the positive the portions were good and nicely presented but I have wasted my money and will never order again

Amazing a chipshop that cooks to order. Food is always piping hot and not luke warm. The quality of food is impeccable lamb donners are 100% lamb not the mix and match. The fish is always on point and chips both chunky and Dutch chips are just divine! Even the gravy is out of this world. The portion sizes are good and it's always made fresh and how you like. Will always be coming back to you guys. Well done!!

Really great fish and chips, First time trying Dutch fish and chips, the fish is great with a nice light batter. Chips were good too, obviously used decent potato’s. Arun , the owner was really friendly too. Highly recommended

Just had fish and chips and also battered sauagse and chips. Really nice and a big portion, even though we got small chips their was quite a few there. We got a little tester of the kibbling and that was quite nice. Staff are really friendly.

Favourite place for fish and chips. Just order the kibberling and see for yourself. It ain't greasy tastes properly nice instead of blandness. The Dutch mayo is nice along with their tarte sauce

Never tried Kibbeling before and was pleasantly surprised. The owner only fries the fish fresh ie doesn’t keep it pre-made. The batter was light & not over crisp & didn’t feel greasy at all. I liked that they use actual bits of fish (not processed). It’s served with authentic Dutch tartare sauce which was lovely. The portion size was huge & we went for a meal deal (chips & drink) for £1 extra. We couldn’t finish the chips because we were really full from the Kibbeling. The service was really good and the food was amazing. Highly recommend if you want to try something different.

Order from here on Deliveroo, after reading other reviews I was wondering if portions where as big as they sounded, and yes they lived up to expectations. Ordered the large Kibbeling with chips, it's enough for 2 very hungry people, or 3 people if you have a smaller stomach. The chips add-on for £1 with meal made me sceptical, as to how much chips they'll give, so I ordered a kid's meal on the side to be safe, but in the end there was no need, they were very generous and was so full we couldn't eat the kids meal. Happy customer. Edit: had to reduce by 1 star because last TWO times I've ordered the chips have been uncooked, plus price for meal add on is now £1.50, unfortunate.

Its decent for a chippy. chips did taste like those you find in Amsterdam. Fish is massive and portions are good too, but by the time its delivered not crispy at all, which is understandable. The fish bites are nice but a bit dry does come with tartar sauce. Wings are wack dont even bother, get some from morleys next door, the sri lankan flavour is basically that tangy chilli sauce from dixy. They dont give standard condos like ketchup etc. which is a shame

Ok where do I start. My sole "complaint" (I'm not really complaining, this is tongue in cheek) is that the portion sizes are huge 😉😉😉 this means that a single large portion of Kibbeling with chips can easily feed 3 people. It also means that 2 portions aren't suitable for 4 ... More like 6. 😁 (Please please please don't change those portions, we're used to it now.). This has the added advantage that the price is VERY reasonable compared to any other chippy. The fish is cooked to perfection, it has a sweet taste to it, more like Tilapia? The chips are perfect, so soft, really well done throughout, you won't taste raw potato in them ever. The tartar sauce is a treat, definitely one to go back for. I also tried the Dutch style mayonnaise, and the garlic sauce. Both are delicious. Staff are friendly. It can take a while to cook but tbh, any chippy worth his salt and vinegar would be cooking fresh so the time is worth while. I've been back twice, and I'll be a regular in the future. One concern I have is no parking, I've always opted for the Sundays where I can put the car on the single yellow line.

Best Fish and Chips I have tasted, at first I thought the cost was steep but you should note the fish portion is large, and the so are the fries, in hindsight I could have bought 1 portion fish & chips for me to share with missus. they were very kind and I was given a free sample of Kibbeling to taste with the sauce and a free bootle of coke for spending over £25. The wait time is about 15mins, but you need to remember that they make the fish fresh and batter there and then , NOT fry then leave under a light , the only downside to fresh fried fish is that the oil will still drain in the take away box on way home and will look very greasy at home. So best get it out of the box on to a plate fast, at least you know all the oil in in box not the plate. Other than that nothing but praise , I will be back.

I love it been here 3 times now. Their chips are good and their kebab is tasty and less fatty. To make a good kebab it either needs to fatty for tenderness or salty for taste. Well their kebab tends to be on the salty side. Improvements I'd give is that they need to make their own chilli sauce and garlic sauce instead of getting it from somewhere else. Another improvement would be to hire more staff since the waiting times are a bit long. Overall, a positive experience and would definitely come back again.

Very tasty and fresh fish and chips. The portion sizes are very generous. A real hit with the whole family, would highly recommend for great dutch style fish and chips.

Spent 30 mins waiting for cod and a kebab. The cod initially took longer to make but they accidentally gave the kebab to the wrong customer in the meantime. When the customer brought it back, they actually discussed (in Tamil thinking I wouldn't understand) repacking it and giving it to me. This wouldn't be acceptable under normal circumstances but given the global pandemic, this was truly disgusting. If you shop here, keep and eye on your food and who's handling it, or just go somewhere else altogether.

A consistent Great experience, visited a few times now after the opening and it never disappoints. Kibbling is cooked to perfection, with the batter being well seasoned and crispy. Chips were amazing, especially the Dutch fries.

Visted after the opening day. They had no dutch style chips available so I opted for the regular chips. Kibbeling took far too long (over 15mins) given that there were only 2 people ahead of me. A chippy should have chips cooking on the go during peak times (1pm when I was there). Two stars given as full chips menu was not available (soon after opening day I have to add) and the long wait time for a small simple order. Another star taken as Kibbeling could have managed expectations by advising customers that they will have to wait a little while. This would have given me the opportunity to decide whether I wanted to stay and wait or come back another day. Chips were tasty though. However I can't return unless the ordering system has improved.

I was excited about the new Dutch chip shop opening in my area. Less so after seeing the menu, only about 10% of which is relevant to a Dutch Chippy. I went anyway, ordered the dutch style chips, which weren't in stock, settled for the normal ones instead, and waited. And waited... and waited. 25 mins later and with about 15 people now also waiting i couldnt stop myself from going to the counter, "give me my order or a refund, and I dont care which." Finally the 25 minute chips showed up. They were OK.
