Ki-Ban in Sandwell

Didn’t get what I ordered. Ordered chow mein, got vermicelli. Man at desk was rude. Virtually threw food at me. Always liked it here. Won’t return.

25 of us went for two birthdays in the family. We arrived at 6 and was out for 7pm. Our booking was for 7 pm. The time was changed by them, we all had to go an hour earlier. We hadn’t hardly finished our meals and singing happy birthday when the cakes came out they were cleaning our table off ushering us to leave.My food was a small portion of rogan josh, I had finished my meal then my chips came out, too late nothing to dip them in. We know why they ushered us out they had another large group waiting outside. Really bad, we shall never go again , it was rude, I will be telling everyone I know to avoid. Totally dissatisfied. The family came from all over the country, they were disgusted.

a last resort as there weren’t much open on bank holiday Monday. I ordered a selection of dishes but sadly none of them were up to scratch/ecxpectations. A certain one to avoid for me and the family. Lack of seasoning…..

Disgusting and over priced. Not to mention rude and extremely miserable experience. Used to visit here regularly. After my recent visit I soon realised why I stopped. I would rather get a supermarket ready meal or drive to Stourbridge to visit Ruby Cantonese which is way more professional and worth the drive and value for money and quality.

Has been the family’s go to Chinese Takeaway for a few years now, always lovely and fantastic and food is always delicious. Never had a bad experience from here and would recommend to basically anyone

I'm not sure what has happened but Ki Ban has really gone downhill. It used to be the best takeaway for miles but not any more. I made a telephone order and the person taking my order was very snappy. I kept reading out my order from the downloaded menu and he kept interrupting me, 'I don't understand what you want, oh forget it!. He didn't recognise the meal I tried to order even though it was on their menu. I ordered the meat free minced pork and vegetables. When I got home there was no minced pork, they had thrown in three veggie sausages on top of carrots and mushrooms with a very watery gravy. Load of rubbish. Meat free minced pork is not veggie sausages and this is a very lazy and unappetising meat free meal!

Strange people. When I rang to order they put the phone down a couple of times. Rude when they answered. Will definitely not try again.

As ever this is a great quality example of its kind. Plentiful, good quality ingredients served hot & just as expected by this returning customer.

Visited here the last couple of times and the food wasnt as good as it used to be. Came again tonight thinking that the previous visits were just bad days for those working in the kitchen and i can say that I wont be visiting again. The quality of food has really gone poor and food is bland considering the price. Will definitely be taking my custom elsewhere.

Meals have have got smaller and the prices have increased.... Used this place for years but lately seems to have gone down hill Last couple of meals have been disappointing Feel it’s about time to change and try new places

Ki Ban from start to finish is excellent. Front of house, Wan meets you with a warm welcome and a smile. You feel good as soon as you walk in with the great aromas and then you notice the chefs hard at work, using the freshest ingredients to cook your order from the kitchen. Chinese food is complicated and somewhat intimidating to me. Wan explains it with ease, knowledge and genuine passion. The food is amazing every single time. After using Ki Ban for a long time, I moved away from the area. On my return back to Birmingham I had to reintroduce myself to Ki Ban hoping the food was as good as I remembered, to my delight it was even better....

This placed used to be amazing. However the chap (would usually say gentleman however the new front of house is complete garbage) is extremely rude, obnoxious and unable to converse with costumers in a polite civilised manner. Food is hanging in there however the customer service is destroying the reputation the previous owners worked tirelessly to create.

Pound for pound the best local Chinese I know so glad I rediscovered ki ban after moving back to the area

Been using Ki Ban for over 10 yrs and always been good. Tonight I’ve had the worse chicken curry ever!!! The chicken had been cooked placed in the fridge or even freezer and heated up, so dry, after 2 spoon it went in the BIN, and the bill was nearly £30. Won’t be using them again, you can’t serve BAD food and keep your customers

We had a take away - mine was nice until I found a hair, and my wife’s was very spicy which is not very good as we specifically said no spices. The man behind the counter was helpful but perhaps a little condescending, certainly not as good as it used to be when the previous owners had it. We won’t be going back.

Ordered a beef curry and fried rice for myself late tonight..... the taste was actually pretty good, however......i think mushroom and onion curry would be a more fitting title. Hardly any meat in there at all!

Genuinely can't describe how bad the food was. Rude staff, then the "food" that followed was disgusting, used to be regular now will never return, avoid at all costs.

If i could have left the score of -0 , I would have done. Def seriously think twice before ordering from here. Sadly i looked at trip advisor reviews in the shop " after i had ordered" and would probably have walked away. The guy up front was rude answering phone calls in the middle of our conversation , then he tried to charge me £16.20 for meal i would normally pay £11.30 . one meal was 5.20 second meal 5.50 then i said no to the rice and did not want the prawn crackers but would have a small bag of chips , so the bill went from £10.70, to £16.00 . The guy was so arrogant i even showed him the latest trip advisor reviews which he ignored them . What a shame it changes hands new owners but very poor, will not be going back unless there are changes and better reports on trip advisor.

New management is ruining this previously great take always name. Rude front of house staff. Extended wait times. No apology for making several customers wait 40+mins for orders they were told would be 10/15 minutes. Chap behind the counter has no customer service qualities apart from negative ones.

I have been using this chinese for as long as I can remember but never again! My food was cold, rice was hard, chicken cashew nuts had no taste and our sweet & sour pork was chicken! The new owners are ruining a good name!

We have been using this take out for 10 years & since the new owners have taken over we have been disappointed with the service. Not only have they tried to charge us too much twice, they have gotten our order wrong on many occasions & they customer service we have received for their mistake has been awful. Tonight we thought we’d use them as it’s late & so close to home & getting the little ones fed before bed, we thought we’d us them but yet again disappointed. I ordered a chow mien no veg & asked no bean sprouts, we got chicken fried rice. I rang them up to explain they had our order wrong to which he replied, “no I never & I repeated it back to you” I advised why would hAve I said no bean sprouts if I want rice as I know that doesn’t come with rice & that when I asked for no bean sprouts he repeats back no bean sprouts, to which he denies & gets very ratty with me on the phone. Even if I was wrong (which I’m 100%) not customer service & treating you customers right goes along way. We will not be using this place again awful customer service & food has gone down hill too. Bring back the old owners. Vile place.

I called for the first time to place an order. "CAN I MAKE AN ORDER FOR DELIVERY" YES YOUR NUMBER - gave my house number presuming they had a computer to identify the rest of my address. They took my order but an hour later when i called to see how long it would be before it was delivered i was shouted at, told why i had done this as the shop never delivers. Well this why i asked at the very beginning i said and you said yes and took my order YOUR A LIAR he screamed repeatedly over and over. Needless to say would not recommend this place to anyone.

Been an avid supporter of Ki Ban since I can remember. Always a pleasure to talk to the staff and rush to get home to unwrap what is without a doubt gorgeous food. However this evening my partner stood for close to an hour in the shop waiting for our order. Without apology or offer of some sort of compensation she waited, only for our order to come out incorrect. As did plenty of other people's. Such a shame for what is usually a great takeaway.

I have eaten twice recently and I didn't order the ribs the second time round.

I have visited this takeaway for about 10 years. However , since 2017 the quality of the food has been very poor. I am disappointed. I’m not sure whether the restaurant has changed hands but the food is overpriced and poor

Kung Po chicken tastes of dish water king prawn schezwan no words apart it all went in the bin waste of hard earned cash would not of given it to the guy sleeping rough a few doors down

We have been eating from here for years and each time excellent. But today's takeaway was below standard. The chicken crispy balls were too chewy (not fresh), same with chips. The Chefs chow main special had little meat in it. Disappointing meal from ki ban this time. 3/5 at most.

We have really enjoyed take aways from here on several occasions. Like any good quality establishment there can sometimes be a wait though in July I collected within 20 mins. A favourite take away of ours.

La mujer que me hablaba era educado y v rápido para decirme el precio de mi pedido, me dijo que estaría a recoger en 15 minutos y estaba preparada cuando llegué allí. . La comida era encantador. (× 2 de Hong Kong y un pollo chow me + arroz).

Encontré este llevar por error cuando me cambiaron a la zona, este llevar 'excelente'. Luego de la comida y hasta hoy, ha sido siempre excelente, fresca y nunca decepcionante. Comidas cubre muchos gustos y dietas e incluso comidas cocinar sin colesterol de aceite. Está dirigido por una Christine Lam. Encantadora señora que se puede ver está orgulloso de su negocio. Siempre se asegura de que los clientes están satisfechos, y cada año, el llevar siempre gracias a sus clientes con regalos de navidad. . . Cuanto he tenido tazas, paraguas, bolsas de la compra, etc. cubre siempre y un calendario.

Sólo me encontré a Ki Ban por accidente hace un par de semanas, ya que estaba pasando por la vida, ya que en el centro de la ciudad de Birmingham ya tienen acceso a una gran variedad de comida china, verdad?

…it would be so much better if they offered a delivery service. This is pretty much standard for restaurants these days - even Harvesters do it - and this does let Ki Ban down. I'd order far more frequently if delivery was available!

Yo vivo en el Sur oeste de la mayor parte del año. Sin embargo, cuando estoy de vuelta visitando la familia siempre me hacen una excusa para una comida para llevar desde aquí. La perfección.

Excelente comida china con un toque moderno. Utilizamos este lugar regularmente y nunca he estado decepcionado con ninguna de las comidas. Nos dirigiremos a seis millas de ida y vuelta desde el centro de Birmingham City para conseguir comida de aquí, que lo dice todo.

Mejor llevar comida china. La comida es preparada de calidad estándar y el personal muy amable y eficiente. Excelente menú con gran variedad.

Perhaps the best Chinese take away in Quinton but that not saying the standard of the rest. I have never had a bad meal and better than average. However I don't recommend their chicken curry but the rest of the menu is excellent .

Lady taken orders very rude ' waiting time far to long say it will take 1/2 when it fact it takes 1 hr ' no customer services ' always having to wait never o time ' don't deliver .

Wide menu choice, always top quality. Pleasant service,. just wished they delivered. Lovely set meals, which are well thought out

We it seems like I cursed the take away with my last review. As I have said in my previous review other takeaways do not seem to be consistent with their food. Unfortunately this has struck ki ban. Shame as this was the best weekend treat we looked forward to. Last weekends takeaway from here was just ok. We have been trying it now every other month hoping it returns to the great standard it used to be. When you say no chilli's you would hope this is the case not more!!!. The lady on the desk has returned, she's lovely so I hope she brings the standard back up. Come on ki ban, please get back to number 1 in the area Like you were before.

I drive past half a dozen others to get there. It can get very busy and therefore very slow at times though.

We've been getting our takeaways from here for 10 years and we've never had a bad one. Plenty to choose from on the menu and always extremely tasty, would definitely recommend.

Great food and service, the menu is extensive. One downside is they do not offer a delivery service that is why only 4 stars awarded. But everything else great.

I have been going to ki-ban for my take aways now for nearly 3 years and I can honestly say I haven't had a bad 1 yet. Many Chinese takeaways quality fluctuates but this one has stayed constant and hopefully long may it continue. The only fault I could pick is with the friendliness of the service but ha-ho....... ;) it seems the same in every Chinese takeaway. We'll worth a change from your usual takeaway to experience a bit of quality.

Great food better than your average takeaway, like the fact you can see the condition of the kitchen very clean.Well worth a try.

Without a doubt the best Chinese takeaway in Birmingham. Healthy options are so tasty too. I just love experimenting with this menu!I will definitely recommend salt and pepper wings and Cantonese sweet and sour king prawns are the one!! You can't go wrong ....

Best Chinese food ever to take away, about a 10 minute drive, but I always ring to order. Lovely staff Good price and always very tasty. My daughter loves their fried rice and lemon chicken. They do a lovely set menus too, with so much food Prawn crackers are a must :)

This place is brilliant, it serves excellent freshly cooked food at reasonable prices, I have been using this place for a few years. Would highly recommend.

We probably use this place every few weeks, having used it for years. Can honestly say that we've always had a lovely meal. Even though I normally stick to the same meal, hubby and son have tried a lot more on the menu and have always enjoyed their choice. Only drawback. Wish they'd deliver.

This is not close to my home - but I ring up, place my order and drive out to collect it - as its the best Chinese/Cantonese take away for miles around. The food is always cooked fresh, and is delicious. There is a low fat menu for people watching their calories.

I have been to many Chinese take aways over the years and had given up on trying to find a good one where we live. Usually, the take aways by us give small portions for a rather steep price, What a shock then when we recieved far more food than we expected! What a bigger shock that it was relatively inexpensive. What a greater surprise we had when we found out the variety, the quality and the service were excellent. Seriously, you MUST visit this take away!

We have a take out from here about once every six weeks. The food is good quality, flavourful and reliably good. I tried a different local restaurant recently, recommended by others but it wasn't a patch on Ki-Ban in terms of taste, and was luke warm

We are revulars to this takeaway and can honestly say we have never had a bad meal. A very clean and tidy place with an open plan kitchen where you can see the chefs cooking your meal
