My friend and I visited last night and we were so pleased with our experience and can’t wait to return! The food was delicious: we had poppadoms, chapatti’s, garlic chicken, meatball boona, tarka daal & bhindi bhaaji. Our drinks were lovely too: Rioja and a Kingfisher. The service was great from everyone: really welcoming, friendly and polite. Will definitely return and highly recommend. Located in the heart of Blackheath so really convenient for the train station and bus routes.

Our usual Curry house in the Village was full so we decided to give Khans a try as they had availability. First impressions were that the bright lighting and cheap table covers were not particularly classy but not off putting. The ordering and drinks went well and we began to wait for our food as the restaurant slowly emptied an hour later the food arrived not cold but tepid, unacceptable after such a wait, however the tepid food was very good and appeared to be fresh and tasty. Could be a great Curry house with a little effort.

I recently had a take away from this restaurant and was extremely disappointed. I have eaten at Khan's on and off for years, but gave it a swerve 2 years ago after a bad experience there. With my son insisting he wanted an Indian take away for his birthday, I reluctantly gave it another go after having similarly poor experiences in the other Blackeath village Indian restaurants. It was a mistake! The prices have rocketed but the food has remained mediocre. All bread was stodgy and the curries tasted as if made from a supermarket bottled sauce. You can't escape the feeling that, charging £12 for featureless curries, boiled rice, a popodom (no chutneys) and a roti, (for self-collection!) they are having a laugh at their customers' expense.

Anyway, we decided to give it a go for a change and were very pleased we did.We went as a group of 6, including 3 children. The staff could not have been nicer, very pleasant, accommodating and welcoming to the kids. The food was really good - freshly cooked, delicious, good portions and no skimping on meat/prawns in the curries. The decor leaves a lot to be desired (in my view) but we weren't there for that. The bill was a bit more than we expected it to be but it was still reasonably good value.

My first and last visit to this restaurant. We'd booked but, when we arrived, the restaurant was half empty. Cold and wet, we were shown to a table by the door but settled on a table further in. It was obvious that we hadn't chosen a good night as we could hear mutterings from a couple of groups that they had been working waiting one and a half hours for their food. We were just glad to be in from the cold but our patience was stretched by a 45 minute wait before we were asked if we wanted to order any drinks, despite our promptings. There were plenty of staff around but nothing seemed to be happening. All in all, our dining experience lasted 2 hours before we ate our starters and mains, paid and gratefully left. During that time, one large group came, waited 30 minutes or so then left. The diners who had been waiting when we arrived negotiated generous discounts. Given the good reviews that I'd read, it was presumably a one off problem but it seemed to be one that the management wouldn't recognise and the treatment of diners was not what one would expect. If I was reviewing on the food only, the score would have been 3 out of 5.

Man sollte vorsichtig nippen.

Twice before the 5 mins were up we were pestered to say ready for main yetThe Dhansak was a nasty orange colour. Everything seemed to be cooked using this food colouring and taste was awfulAfter we asked for coffee. My wife's said can you remove some of the coffee so I can add milk. The waiter tipped the coffee onto the saucer. Shocking. The bill also came to over £60 and they didn't even have any alcohol. How do places like this stay in business? Definitely won’t be going back. I've been coming here for a few years now and really love the place, the restaurant was originally recommended to me…Often, I will dine in an establishment, have a delightful meal, only to return a week or so later and imbibe something vastly different and far less satisfying. So few restaurants can boast that ever-elusive consistency, though it should be at the top of every restaurateur’s list, if they desire reputation. Khan's, I'm happy to say, serves fresh, authentic, delicately balanced and traditional Nepalese cuisine to an extraordinarily high standard on my every visit. On the last occasion I ordered, Chicken Tikka Masala (Smokey with a touch of sweetness) Nepalese Khutta (Lean lamb with peas in a moderately spicy sauce) Aloo Tama (potatoes and bamboo shoots - highly recommend!) and freshly baked hot naan breads. Occasionally I will choose something from the Tandoor and it's always, sizzling, fresh and marinated in such a way that I want to pick it up with my fingers!!A fantastic restaurant, very reasonably priced...perfect with cool Gurkha beers and Poppadom aperitifs ...

We were visiting friends nearby and they booked a table for the 4 of us at Khan's. On arrival we were greeted warmly and shown to a table by the door. As it was a cold evening my friend asked if we could sit further back. This was no problem at all for the staff despite the restaurant being busy and we were shown to a larger table at the back of the restaurant. My friend and I are wine drinkers and do sometimes struggle to find a good red wine when out for a curry but the wine menu had some good choices and we decided on a malbec which was very nice.We decided to skip starters and go straight for main courses which we shared. We ordered 2 traditional curry dishes, tikka masala and a karahi, and then 2 dishes from the nepalese menu, the green and a pokhara. All of the food was exceptional. The nepalese dishes were especially good and so tasty. I would highly recommend the chicken green. Wow what a dish! All of us were impressed with the quality of the dishes and the portion size. Next time we are in Blackheath we will definitely be heading back to Khan's. Lovely ambience, friendly staff, good wine and most importantly great food! Highly recommended.

Just having finished a takeaway from Khan's and never having written a review before I feel compelled to share how poor the experience was.I order takeaway Indians most Friday nights and like to try out different restaurants. Tonight was my first (and last) try of Khan's. First off we ordered two portions of onion bhaji's and only received one portion, bad start! My son ordered lamb tikka starter and shish kebab starter as his main. He received lamb tikka starter and chicken tikka starter! Two mistakes even after the female who took the order repeated everything back to us! So how they messed up is anybody's guess? My partners chicken tikka jalfrezi consisted of chicken tikka and finely chopped tomatos and onions which tasted like the onion salad you get with poppadums. Surely they never put onion salad in the jalfrezi, did they? On to my chicken tikka rogan which consisted of chicken tikka and some runny sauce that I have never tasted before, nothing else. No onions or tomatos (must have run out of onion salad) or peppers, just chicken tikka and some runny sauce that had no resemblance to rogan sauce. The portions were quite small as well which with hindsight was a blessing. The only decent thing was my garlic nan which was ok.Overall if I'm spending just over £40 for an Indian from Blackheath I expect so much better. The food was bad and getting the order wrong is just incompetence, not a good combination. If you're thinking of trying Khan's then my advice would be to give it a swerve and order from the pretty decent Taste of Raj, also in Blackheath Village or the very average Coriander at Westcome Park or even the below average Viceroy in Charlton Village. Wherever you choose avoid Khan's, the worst Indian takeaway I have ever had, and by the way I have had many!

Chicken Green very authentic, tasty & aromatic. Lamb Everest was exceptional, cooked with fresh herbs & I gave our compliments to the chef. The downside was that I ordered the Nepalese King Prawn Charisma as a takeaway, discovered four whole stems of asparagus were thrown on top of the King Prawn Dish, & all the Prawns were still in their annoying shells - all that for at grand theft total of £15.95, disappointing. Too late to complain now I'm home. All in all, a worthwhile night out. Good selection of Nepalese beers too if you fancy deviating form Kingfisher and Cobra.

This is truly the best nepalese restaurant in blackheath without a shadow of doubt. Happy, chirpy staff and excellent curry.

Been here before and its once again one of my fav places to eat, friendly happy staff and food great and best of all, value for money. Meat so nice and tender and very tasty, I would highly recommend and best of all just found out the do home delivery. Have already told my partner that I would be happy if he took me here, why go to a posh with over the top prices when I know this place will not let me down. The only downside to my evening was a group of loud group (well one lady who spoke so loud the whole restaurant now know all about how much benefits she gets and also how much she pays the child minder). Lucky for us they arrived when we were about to leave as before then it was a great atmosphere but its not staff or restaurant faulty that some people like being the centre of attention.

Not been for a while after the place being a regular past haunt . The staff were friendly and very attentive and the waiters recommendation of a Nepalese lamb dish at Madras heat was simply excellent , will not be leaving it so long to return

Food was tasty, hot and well packaged. Very polite call from restaurant to warn that delivery would take 1 hour 15 mins, which wasn't a problem, but in fact the food was delivered before. Expectations managed successfully! Will definitely use again.

We do like going out and trying new restaurants but something about Everest Inn (also in Blackheath) always stopped us from doing that; we (me and my wife) were frequents there. This time around due to lack of parking in-front of Everest Inn, we parked down the road and spotted ‘the KHAN’ S’, thought of giving it a shot and loved it. The waiters are very well mannered and well dressed, giving you space and time for your chit-chats. The food was cooked to perfection (may be a bit spicy to some but they can adjust that). Good variety and excellent service. It’s slightly expensive though, considering Evert Inn accepts Taste Card Khan’s don’t. Overall I would rate Khan’s better than Everest Inn due to service, the food was better as well. The ambience was nice as well. Its worth trying.

This place is a cut above the average curry place and has recently improved. I used to come here a lot in the 80s and it was then a decent enough curry place, however I had a meal there this weekend and the chef has clearly improved a lot since I was last there. The menu covers all the standard dishes (done very well) and a few specialities that are really good. I'm very glad I've rediscovered this place after a 20 year hiatus.

Went with my family- incl som and mother and had a lovely meal. Waiters were v good- especially when my mother ordered the jalfrezi despite being told it was hot- only to then struggle- a kindly waiter brought some yoghurt.

When reading the other reviews, I was looking forward to having a good curry, the menu was very promising, more choices perhaps than your average Indian. However I was left wanting, nothing stood out as particularly good, generic curry sauce, no distinguishable flavours of any particular spices, generic orange pilau rice, generic takeaway greasy Naan bread. On the whole I was disappointed, luckily it was very fairly priced and the rest of my party enjoyed their meals whole heartidly as I fear they enjoy quantity over quality, as perhaps many diners do. On the whole not terrible but I wont go again even if I am on budget.

We were out in Blackheath on Sat night for drinks and decided last minute to go for a meal, we walked around a bit looking for a place to eat when we came across Khan's. Hardly anybody inside but we decided to give it a go and am i so glad we did as its such good value for money, drinks are a bit expensive, however, really worth it. Very tasty and fresh. Service was good as well. I would go back here and would highly recommend it.

I went to Khan's with four friends last night for the first time and had a great meal. In fact it was one of the best Indian meals I've ever had, particularly in Blackheath. The prawn puri I tried was lightly spiced and huge number of perfectly cooked prawns with a light fluffy puri, and the lamb pakora was just the perfect level of heat for a midweek dinner. The manager was trying out the new Khatmandu beer which was fragrant but a little lighter than Gurkha beer which is one of my favourites but great to try something new.I will definitely return to Khan's and am disappointed that I have taken so long to discover this fine Indian/Nepalese restaurant.

Having eaten in at Khans I had high hopes for my takeaway, I was sadly disappointed. Food was merely average and they took absolutely no notice whatsoever of the special instructions left for the chef / delivery driver. Delivery time however was excellent. I´ll stick to my usual takeaway in future.

Blackhealth and Greenwich seem to have loads of great curry house. Moguls, Everest, Gurkha' s Inn, Saffron and many more. Khan's is not as famous, cool or busy as some of it's near neighbours which I think is no bad thing. What it does do is great food with great service. Indeed, the food is quite distinctive from the crowd and it is certainly worth trying. One thing is certain, it is now one of our favourite places!

..............Indian restaurants in the area, and we're lucky to have it. Despite all the competition from designer newcomers, Khan's still has the edge with the food. And if you want to try something unique - if you like them! - order the chicken livers for starters; they are delicious cooked in a rich tomato sauce.

I used to go to khans with my parents before, Im a regular there myself. Last friday night, i took my girlfriend there, it was her first time in khans and she really loved it there, the service was top notch from the moment we stepped in to the moment we left. The food is undoubtedly the best in Blackheath Village. I had a lamb green, the lamb was really tender and fully flavoured inside out. My girlfriend tried the King Prawn Charisma which was amazing, she hadn't experienced a dish like that anywhere else. If you are going to a restaurant for a good meal then Khans should definitely be on top of your list!

I'd arrived at my girlfriend's place in London around half nine on a Friday evening and we were both starving. So we popped into Khans. The food was fresh, well cooked and the service prompt and efficient. The lamb was tender and not rubbery, which can often be the case at Indian restaurants. Definitely worth a try.

A good place with a different style of Indian food from the usual. It was a nice and cozy experience which was quite a change from our normal central London dinning. They made a Thali especially for us (wasn't on the menu) which we very good. Would recommend.

We had intended to re-visit the nearby Everest Inn, which I reviewed on 7th June. However, as there were six of us, and we hadn't booked, and it was full, we would have had to wait half an hour to be seated inside, and, being November, we didn't fancy waiting outside, as was offered. So we apologised, and said we would try somewhere else, if we could get in.At Khan's , we would still have to wait for our food, as they were busy too, but they were able, by juggling seating, to find us a table inside, and the drinks order was taken promptly, and delivered soon after. As we expected, we had to wait a while for our food, but , when it came, it was delicious. We had no complaints at all.
