Wow what a difference in a week called this evening to drive through to give bucket of wings another go well impressive no waiting food red hot extremely tasty gob smacked what a difference well done KFC 5stars from me jr

I’ve been here a good few times and nothing changes, today I went in and a young girl come to the counter I told her what I wanted but she couldn’t speak a word of English, she had to get someone else to serve me, it’s shocking they can’t speak English, the service is very poor, I was in the week before and the manageress was good her name I think was Kelly and she commanded that kitchen, other than that the staff are so miserable they need to take some happy pills or something drastic needs to happen in that kfc Workington.

We have been here quite a few times and it has never been a good experience. Yesterday we called in at 19.00 hours, as usual not busy. We ordered from the touch screen, there was no option for gravy or beans and only a choice of two dips, tomato or garlic. I wanted a Twister meal but no option for it. After ordering we asked why there was no beans or gravy or dips other than the two shown available tomato or garlic? We were told we could order the beans and gravy from the counter, no idea why. However they didn't have any other choice of dips. Our meal arrived, the chips were Stone cold and the chicken was Luke warm. It's a real shame as we love KFC. From now on it looks like the only time that we visit KFC will be in another town or city.

I ordered and paid at 7.31 for my takeaway. 20 minutes later, after many people who ordered after me, picked up their orders which on numerous occasions, included, gravy, I was told that there was no longer any gravy available. I asked why the orders had not been fulfilled in sequence of ordering and was answered with " we've got beans" I asked again and was given a gormless look and a shrug of the shoulders. Got home with my order to find NO DIPS. Complete incompetence from rude staff.

First time back for a while and quite shocked at the improvement since my last visit which was terrible nice to see more staff and the lobby being kept clean bye the lovely lady.. seems to be a lot quicker service and no misbeble face keep moving forward guys

What a joke.... 30 minutes for my order even though it was quiet. Chicken was cry and the gravy.... well the pic speaks for itself!!! Dirty puddle water. Rang to complain 8 times and no answer

Staff were kind and did their best to get everyone's food to them as fast as they could despite how full the store was. Very kind and I would come again in the future.

was terrible waited nearly 40 minutes for a wrap with chips and popcorn chicken with chips asked for no spicy sauce in my wrap and got it and when it came we had no chips because they ran out so then gave us popcorn chicken to replace it then waited 10 minutes for tomato sauce. Ridiculous never again !!!!

Fell ill same night tried to cope for 3 day then went to a&e was treated for food poisoning Took a week to get over it

Got to be the worst KFC in the country. Service is unbelievably slow, food is only just warm, tables are dirty and bins are overflowing onto the floor. We have been a couple of times in the last month. First time we thought they were experiencing staffing problems and it could not normally be this bad. Second visit we realised it was not a one off, it really is this bad.

Drove in and the drive through closed again Walked in and self service machines down again Stood at the till while the clowns were messing about behind the counter. Who actually cares Nokias or where do they find them. To ignore a customer walking past them while we stand there. Hanging out of the managers office laughing and cussing. It’s just not normal waiting for for 27 minutes for fast food. And when they delivered it I asked for a zinger tower meal now this says it ZINGER sauce not the supercharge tongue blowing sauce. When I reported it the show started I began asking the front clowns who didn’t know what to say and then the back clown came out and said that’s the sauce we use now. Well it’s not that would be a zinger with supercharge sauce. Then moved on to my child’s food and that was under cooked chicken and the chips where as cold as they were peeled This spot should be health hazard and looked In to before anyone is seriously harmed

I don’t think what I can add would make a difference to what all the other reviews have stated except that clearly what is being said needs to be actioned. Not sure if I feel more for colonel Saunders or the person that had to give them their local authority rating? If that was you then hang your head in shame! I will be sending the pics direct to kfc uk as being a franchise unit you won’t listen but they will. I think all the pics and reviews show how disgusting and dirty your unit is, can’t wait to send my pics direct as a member of your staff clearly has never been taught basic food hygiene given they had their hand down their trousers and then proceeded to serve, not food but still not acceptable and yes, thank god I was recording. The boss/manager saw me filming and proceeded to wipe a door handle down to his office. I am out for you because you should not be allowed to be in the catering industry full stop. Animals live in cleaner conditions.

Absolutely filthy. Should be closed immediately. Only went because little lad wanted to try KFC...I don't think he'll eat chicken ever again. The entrance was full of rubbish including an inflated 'birth control device'..I kid you not!! The Colonel would be spinning in his grave. Windows have never been cleaned and every bin in car park was stuffed full. Floor was filthy and no staff attempting to clear tables or perform any kind of cleaning task. I'm going to report to KFC head office.

This was the first and I'm sad to say last visit I will ever make to this horrendous example of fast food in West Cumbria. I visited with a business colleague and should have been put off by the lack of other customers in the facility. I ordered from the Kiosk at the entry. The screen was smudged with other peoples greasy fingers. My colleague and I chose the ten piece sharing bucket and extra gravy. The gravy was something I'd longed to try since seeing it advertised so frequently. I paid contactless and received an on screen order number. There was no receipt from the kiosk, the tired and lazy staff must have thought it beneath them to replenish the kiosk. I walked to the counter and saw that there was little food already prepared, so thought that the food being cooked to order might improve the quality. It didn't. There was a spotty, long haired unkempt youth who reminded me of a sloth from the amazon jungle. Then I thought he was unlikely to survive more than a few hours in the jungle if at all. I watched him walk slower than a geriatric in a care home from the serving hatch to the french fry station, and waited, and waited and waited Eventually our tray of food arrived. He called out our number. Well more whispered it to be fair, and i approached. He didn't ask for our receipt and when I told him the machine hadn't dispensed one he grunted "Oh". I knew an academic conversation wouldn't be happening. As i sat at a table i removed the bucket lid to find ten chicken legs. Not a single piece of breast to be seen. I immediately returned to the counter to see what could be done to swap some chicken legs for breast. The sloth ignored me an a small hobbit like creature with a ginger beard and beedy eyes that were too close together approached. I explained my predicament and asked politely if there was anything he could do. "NO". you've opened the bucket and that's that. I calmly asked how it was possible to give ten chicken legs, perhaps to maximize profit I thought. He said I should have asked for a mixed bucket when ordering. I had ordered at the kiosk and the option wasn't there. He said that was tough and the way it was. I asked if i could speak to the manager. I was flabbergasted that someone would employ such a creature in a managerial role. I asked how i complain, he said use the app. I don't have the app... I asked if i could have his name. He said Reece. I said just Reece. He said yes. I could see i was unable to win a battle of wits with an unarmed man, so returned to my table. Overall an horrendous disappointing service from some of the strangest creatures I've yet met in hospitality. I would hope David Attenbourough would do a program on them ! AVOID AVOID AVOID

There was far more grease on the floor than in the fryers! Literally a slip and slide. Literally like torville and dean, but not for the average punter. Ordering screens were filthy not even working properly because they’re so dirty. All glass windows and doors so filthy never been washed in their life! All tables filthy and not ever cleaned. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! Close this place before they kill someone.

Disgusting establishment which should be reported to their head office. The grime on the windows and the filthy carpet at the front door should have told us not to bother, but our grandchildren insisted. We were the first customers through the door when it opened at lunch time and the staff still got the order wrong, the chicken along with the chips were just warm which shouldn't have happened as the place had just opened. The order was put through as a takeaway and was stuck inside a paper bag instead of placing it on a tray, the two ice creams for the kids were presented to us at the same time as the main meal, I said that I'd come back for them as we were sitting in so the staff member threw them in the bin. This was the worst KFC that I've ever been in, it was disgusting from start to finish, we will definitely not be eating there again in the future.

Reaaaallllyyyyyyyyyyyyy slow service and missing items. Been here so many times and it’s still appallingly slow service. It’s 50/50 whether you get all the items ordered so why not introduce or ensure your quality assurance at the end! On our visit prior to today’s we asked at the window if the dips were in the bag and they said yes…. No surprises when we got home to find they’d forgotten the dips. On today’s visit we explained that they forget the dips last time and asked if we could be shown some good will by putting a few extra dips in, no apology and an outright “NO WE DONT DO THAT”. All I wanted was an extra dip worth no more than 10p to the owner. The colonel is currently rolling in his grave, shameful service in desperate need of improvement. The items in the order that they remember to put in the bag are great

Disgusting is an understatement! Shocked as I walked in and found it empty with food and drink on tables and all over the floor, bad attitude and laziness! They told me that they don’t have time to clean as they have to cook the food.Undercooked wings (pink and cold) different colour to the other wings, only checked as they denied it.Green chips, left them on the counter and it took them 20 minutes to remove them.No manager to oversee anything, which explained a lot of their lack to care.

We came round drive thru, despite being new to the area. We’ve been travelling and we was excited for a kfc as we hardly eat out to treat ourself - we’re on holiday! We ordered at the post and then it took almost half an hour to get our food at payment window. We then received some drinks with flimsy lids which didn’t even fit the cup (not even proper kfc cups)- which the boy did warn us to be careful however, us unknowingly left it on the passengers knee (mine) as we drove it went all over my legs, I was not happy one bit. Secondly, when we received our food we ordered 3 meals and all chips was cold, so obviously my boyfriend had told them about this and they only replaced 2 chips, not three. Being 4 mins away (where we’re staying from the kfc) my boyfriend was so angry, he didn’t want to stay and wait for another fresh chips, so he settled for cold chips which he warmed up in the microwave, which I think is appalling for over a £17 order. Any priced order in all fairness! I ordered a Boneless banquet and got half a tub of coleslaw which I was so angry about - over £17 for some food for half a tub of coleslaw, coldChips and the rest!!!!! Lastly, he ordered a chicken mighty bucket for one and received less chicken than he should have and not in a bucket but we was at the place we are staying at this point and we was so rattled after travelling and then having such a shocking experience we didn’t go back. This is why I am unhappily writing a awful complaint. Luckily they have a washing machine in the air b n b we’re staying in, so I did manage to wash my trousers but I was so angry about this experience. 1 star rating. Please sort it out.

So we called round yesterday for a drive-thru…after 15 minutes still nobody had come to the order section, so we moved to the second window and again nobody there, so after another 10 minutes we went to the end window where we could see people paying, we asked if we could order….he then asked us to go round again so we said we’d sat and wasted 15 minutes….but we went anyway, after another 10 minutes a girl answered….she sounded as if she could not care less, I read a review about a girl on her phone..I think it’s the same girl she asked us 3 times for our order, she then told us to go to the next window to pay…..again nobody there!! After 20 minutes the man from the end window asked us if we’d go to the last window, so we did and there was nobody there so we drove off! We wasted an hour while they could not give a single care in the world. It’s okay McDonald’s is round the corner, their service was incredible we told them we’d been and he just laughed and said “don’t go back, we have it everyday people telling us how terrible it is”

I’ve been to Workington kfc 10 times throughout the last 2 years and every time I ask myself why I keep returning. Poor customer service, missing items in the majority of orders and long waits sum this place up. Once I was ignored at the drive through for 10 minutes and had to bang on the window to get their attention. An utter embarrassment and a disgrace to the colonel. Last week I ordered the 12 piece mini fillet meal for four and got home to find 2 portions of chips missing, this was the fry that broke the takeaway lovers back and encouraged me to share my experiences on tripadvisor. Hopefully this prompts positive change.

Went a couple of weeks ago through the drive through and after waiting at the speaker had to go inside to ask someone to attend to the car’s queuing. The girl with the headset on was not even aware there were cars waiting. The chicken in the bucket was all breast and very dry. Gave it another chance and asked for two box meals. Asked for breast meat with one and was told rudely this could not be guaranteed. I have military discount and when showing this the window was closed abruptly whilst she sorted the discount. The box meals arrived without a bag and of course not breast meat. We asked for a sauce and again was abruptly told to pay the extra pennies. Come on KFC sort yourself out.

Who ever owns this franchise obviously do not know how to run a business. Do not bother wasting your time going.

Usually love kfc but don't go to the Workington one, had an hour wait for the food in drive through.food was good once recieved it but shouldn't have to wait that long.

I am a keen lover of KFC. Im unfortunate the workington branch is my only local one now. Every time I go it never fails to disappoint the lasted one was going through the drive through waiting 20 mins to order at the screen to be told mini fillets would be an hour and a half

Got no chips with my fillet box meal, no straws for the drinks, didn’t get asked what chicken piece we wanted with all four meals, extremely salty and staff don’t know the menu

What a lovely environment to have a bite to eat. The restaurant was clean and there are station in place to deal with the current situation. We didn’t wait very long the staff where lovely and friendly and engaged in small talk while working away getting my order ready. The food was lovely and fresh. All in all we had a lovely experience and we will be back again. Keep up the good work everyone.

We visited today, it was quiet. There were dirty tables , seemed to be a few staff hovering around, one staff member stood out (Jonathon) he was cleaning tables, running food outside , answering drive through .... one man band. Well done Jonathon

Drive through terrible. Waiting forty five minutes still no food. Drinks order wrong. Staff don't know menu.

Well just visited for the first time. And my last time. Lad on the till stood with his mouth open looking at us. Never said a word. Told him 3 time what we wanted and that was just 1 order. My wrap came nothing on it took it back was given another one. Was bloody awful. Tables rotten floors rotten bins overflowing. One member of staff no uniform came in went behind the counter came back out and stood and danced. Save yourselves some money or go to Macdonalds.

Persuaded to take my son. Waste of money. Was pleased to be asked if wanted ice in drinks. When we said no, he gave us ice anyway and was surprised when we wouldn’t take them with ice.Got home. No fries, even though paid for but of course, can’t be bothered to trail back,Won’t be going again. Will be feeling greasy for the rest of the day. I should have read everyone’s view first.

The time it took to receive my order was overly long, quite a while after placing my order, I was approached to be told that there were no pieces of original chicken left, I said that every time I have visited this restaurant there is an issue, I was then told that there was original chicken but there was a 5 minute wait, at this point I had already waited 20 mins, so I said I would continue to wait, when the food was ready there were no bags, so i got a bag of my own, for the staff to place the food in. It was only when I got home that I realised that the chicken popcorn was missing.Yet another disappointing experience from this restaurant.

Waited 18mins got food, food was slow slow. Floor and tables needed clean and used packaging removed for next customer, didn’t happen. After we ordered no gravy was available. Won’t return

Worst place in Workington for something to eat.i have never been to sit in before, Had to ask for a cloth to clean a table as none were wiped.Stood 20 waiting for food then the order to be wrong TWICE.not enough staff and seemed like they weren't trained well as one person just didn't seem to know what she was doing.if we hadn't already paid at the order board we would have walked out. First and last time, I now know why it always looks empty..... never again!

I have to wonder if KFC Workington actively employs the most lackadaisical staff in the food industry. I have visited this restaurant only three times since it opened primarily due to poor service and not once have I received the food I have ordered. Today we wanted a quick snack so we visited the drive through, where after paying for our order we then had to wait 15 minutes before it was brought to us - 'fast food' this isn't. We were also overcharged. After having driven home it was to find that half the food was missing. I phoned, spoke to the manager and was offered 15% off my next visit. Anyone who completes the survey and leaves a review of the service receives a 15% discount off their next meal. So the manager's 'offer' as recompense for not receiving half the food I'd ordered is frankly disgusting. I was asked if I wanted to drive the 3 miles back to get the remainder of the food which would have resulted in the food I did receive being cold and let's be honest saline injected chicken would not taste that good cold... How about you just ensure that your employees up their game and actually do the job they are paid for? As for the manager if you want to know what you can do with your 15% then read the review I will leave on the KFC site.

Long wait, people walking out because of the length of time it took to order. Twenty minutes for food to arrive. Cold chips, soggy chicken, overworked staff I know it was only £11.36 but as far as I am concerned thats money wasted

I came here for chicken and I got it, it was definitely good enough for me, wait times can be a bit high in the busy periods but you can expect that I think, and the chicken is better than MacDonalds chicken, that said I prefer to takeaway, doesn't look very comfortable to eat in to me.

Cleaners must of been on holiday. Hygiene must not be a priority. Will not visit again. Disappointed

Came after bowling for my daughter's birthday. Very easy to find. Lots of parking and very clean. Helpful staff and even though it was very busy we didn't wait long. Would recommend

Chicken over done. Burnt very crisp outer skin. Not the usual kfc standard. Chips seemed over cooked too. Few people in says it all when Macdonald was very busy. The guy serving was struggling. The tables were all dirty. I told them to clean floor and tables. Staff all talking behind in the kitchen. Would never visit again.

Visited Saturday afternoon, waited over 30 minutes to be attended then further 15 minutes for meal to be served. Bins were overflowing, place was a mess / took photos. Only one staff member taking orders and serving, felt sorry for him he was apologising all the time and was working really hard. He was actually a credit to a corporate brand that didn't deserve him. This review is NOT a reflection of your staff. When the food arrived it was good, hot and once again a credit to the brand. But come on, enough now, get a manager to pull it together. Won’t be coming back any time soon.

There was nothing quick about it. Avoid if your Hungary or in a rush. Staff diabolical. Whatever we ordered nothing was available. The menu should be situated at the order box - obvious especially when you have to have something different cos they can't deliver what you've ordered?? Drive through is horrendous especially if you are in a biggish car you need manoeuvreing skills and if your unlucky enough to get stuck behind another car there is no escape. You would be better going to macdonalds further down!!

First visit for my kids and what a disappointment. If ever a franchise was guilty of killing the KFC song this is it. It tasted like a cheap fried chicken shop that should sit next to a kebab shop and stay open til 2am on a Friday night. I doubt the oil has been changed or KFC handbook read, greasy stale food and soggy chicken with microwave volcanic corn

So after going back after my first visit which was a disappointment I thought I would give it another go, so on arrival the place was like a ghost town with no customers at the drive threw or in the restaurant apart from us. We ordered the 8 piece boneless bucket with popcorn chicken, fries and corn and gravy, the 8 pieces of chicken were all dry and totally unedable and the only thing that was edable was the fries and popcorn chicken, I then turned to my corn and to my amazement they were nearly 2 half hours past the sell by time (see image attached) so in total I payed £15.99 for fries with popcorn chicken and gravy like wallpaper paste.

Took grandson for some boneless chicken and popping chick. 8 minutes past 4 we put our order in. 29 minutes later after complaining it finally came to the counter. Staff were rubbish. Don't come here of you're Hungary, you'll be starving by the time you get fed.

Firstly behind the counter looks spotless. The customer side is disgusting, food all over the floor and the tables all sticky. Waited 20mins for 2 meals. Food itself wasn’t too bad. Gravy was extremely spicy though. Due to it being so dirty we won’t return.

Been a few times since it opened and I believe it needs big improvements, id say nearly every time we have taken away, one part of the order was missing, along with thr chips normally cold. There needs to be spme better organisation here to be a success

This is a vile KFC, dirty and unorganised. Been a few times there is never any other customers there yet we are waiting ages and the food is still shocking. what a waste of money and time

Shocking waiting times from a 'fast food restaurant'

Worst ever KFC visit. For the second time in a few weeks they couldnt fulfil my order. It was only the basic 3 piece Col meal I ordered. After waiting 10 minutes finally got served and then waited for the order. Another 10 minutes gone just to be told they had no chicken left. Got the Manager who then said it hadn't been prepared. Is this a joke? So badly managed! Its the only KFC I have been in that cooks to order so much for 'fast food'. Surely they should be preparing the food before opening or have a system to work to?

Been to KFC today after running a errand. Restraurant was quiet and only a few cars in the car-park and drive though however due to circumstances went via the drive through. The food took some time and two cars were in the waiting bays. When I got my food and drove he 2 mins to my home the food was very cold and not enjoyable.

weve been in afew kfcs all over this county and several in other parts of the country & abroad this one as got to be the worst i know there was problems with distribution but before that& after that we went &you; could guarantee there would be something you could not get on your order, this place should be buzzing but isnt to many people have been let down &thats; just the people that i know.

Ordered a zinger burger from the drive through, when I got home I found it was just a plain fillet burger. Protip: The boxes have little tabs to identify whats in them. USE THEM!!!!

Dirty tables. Had to ask for any condiments that were wanted as nothing is put out. Toilets were disgusting . Took ages to cook food

What was all the fuss! People question for ages and only to let down by poor service and under trained personnel ! Fast food it is not!

In the time it took those lads behind the counter to bungle around and put together a simple order, I could've grown my own chickens to maturity from an egg and cooked them my own self. I've never seen the likes of it. Ten minute wait to be told they're out of stock for my order. Forty minute wait for my new order. Two whole minutes spent folding the box for said order. If it were any other fast food chain, the whole team would've been marched out of their jobs, never to return to the industry! If Old Colonel got one solitary glimpse of this circus act he'd tear the building down with his bare hands I tell you!

Limited menu, no clean tables, 35 minutes for food, food all over the floor. What else can i say? Worst food experience I've ever had! Where is the management? Not a clue...

Drive through order windows not open to take orders not much on menu no ice cream no desserts at al I don't know why they build a kfc at Workington it's been a waste of time and money just close it nobody will miss it

How can this place be called a fast food restaurant when every customer is expected to stand around for half an hour on average waiting for the food to be served.

Just visited kfc Workington absolutely disgusting walked in food all over the floor all tables not cleaned bin bags of food piled up at entrance door went to order no one waiting but still took 20 mins to take my order then didn’t have all items so just left think this kfc needs a new manager or extra staff won’t be back

I just sat in a queue for 20 minutes to be told by some snotty kid that i had to drive around again and order through an invisible tannoy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having heard the poor reviews, I thought I would give this place the benefit of the doubt and try it out for myself. I used the drive through for what I thought would be a quick bite to eat at lunchtime. Once I actually worked out where the entrance was, things were looking good as there was only a single car ahead of me in the queue. I decided on a Zinger wrap and proceeded to the talky box to put the order in. A scrappy piece of A4 was then visible stating all the items not available, which unfortunately included wraps. I quickly ordered a bog standard chicken burger, and drove round the corner to receive the goods. The payment window was closed up, so I drove round to the serving hatch, where the car in front of me was waiting.. and waiting.. and waiting. I must have been there over 10 minutes with a stack of cars arriving behind me. I don't know what the issue was as no-one offered to come and let me know. They obviously don't have a park up area to allow the drive in flow to move on, so we just sat there and waited. When I eventually got to the serving hatch, the windows remained shut with the serving staff just looking up at the monitor and taking through their headset. After a further minute or 2 with zero eye contact, I decided that I'd had enough of this farcical experience and drove off without any food. This place is as previously stated a complete shambles, it's been open for a while now, so any teething issues should be sorted out. It's a complete embarrassment to the KFC brand, and Workington.

Visited a week or so ago and was seriously unimpressed. Waited over 40 minutes for below par cold food which was in tiny portions including cold unappetising chips and a Zinger burger that looked like the contents had been put together with a catapult. Can't possibly be passed off as fast food with a big queue of people standing staring at the screen waiting for their order to finally appear on the list as ready to collect. Will not be back especially having waited a month or two for the dust to settle before trying it out.

Oh dear what can I say, I know it was a Saturday night (6.30pm) but a wait of 35 minutes for popcorn chicken and fries is appalling...some people were waiting longer!

Went here for lunch, drive through was closed - not sure why. My husband went inside to order our lunch & said the staff hadn’t a clue what they were doing. He ordered 2 boneless meals, side orders weren’t offered. Took ages - would have been quicker buying a chicken & making it ourselves. When he eventually got back to the car we checked the food & there were no dips so he had to go back in. Chips were cold & chicken was really greasy. Then we got trapped in the car park by a delivery van - not much thought has gone into the organisation both inside & outside where customers & delivery drivers are getting in each other’s way. Won’t be rushing back, will go a little further down the road to McDonalds for our next fast food fix.

Having waited for what seemed like an eternity KFC finally arrived in Workington. My kids couldn’t wait.
