KFC in Southend-on-Sea

Messed up order and rude service! Instead of correcting my order or offering to bring it over to me was told I was wrong and had not ordered it! Zero for customer service!

Missing items no chips in bag and very poor quality chicken in a wrap how can you even make chicken so horrible. Had to wait outside while they ruined the meal .

We dropped in for a KFC on our way out to Southend for the evening. We got a takeaway as the traffic was really busy and was getting worse. Once we were back on the road, we opened up our bag to find several items missing, including our chips and some chicken. There were no hand wipes, no sauce or salt or anything that you would expect in a kfc takeaway. If we weren't stuck in traffic, we would have gone back but we were stuck a mile away. Really disappointed as they weren't even busy !

£16 odd pounds later we exited the drive through, with popcorn chicken and two zinger burgers for the 3 of us. Got home and I thought these would not be big enough for a kid! Large popcorn chicken looked like a medium portion at best and there were poor excuses for a zinger burger and soooooo small. The bun is half the size it looks in the picture and the chicken burger was small for that, with a couple of sad leaves of lettuce and a splodge of mayo which I had rearrange in the bun because it had been put together so carelessly. I am never going to return to this place again! I’m still convinced I got stitched up/palmed off with kid portions! Wish I had taken a photo to give you all a good laugh.

Had a delivery of a 10 piece bucket that was full of drumsticks and nothing else, half were burnt and dry. Phone to complain and said basically that's all they had no other chicken in the building. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS RESTAURANT ITS A JOKE.

Absolute joke turned on for lunch it’s closed only way you can tell is the tiny sign on the door no signage outside or anywhere else place needs new management or to be knocked down and put a restaurant there which one will good nice good and 2 will actually tell customers when it’s closed randomly

Half order missing, second time this has happened wont be ordering again!! Do not place orders to this restaurant i know of lots of people who have experienced the same.

went in had a couple bites of my burger noticed something black inside then went to the manager who tried to play it off as “spices” which is clearly not true wont be going back again didnt even offer a refund

I can’t believe how rude the staff are , most of the order was not there when we got home tryed to phone them no one picked up , and when they finely anserd they put phone down , will never go back there again

It’s no better even with the make over. It’s taken nearly an hour now to get through the drive through. No urgency at all. Remains poorly managed and has never improved. Screw you leigh on sea KFC. I’m done

Stopped and picked our family meal up on my way home from work only to return home and find half the order missing … burgers were stone cold with stale rolls.. hot wings were tiny and a waste of money and after spending nearly £30 on a so called family meal felt I’d been robbed.. defo won’t be rushing back to another kfc anytime soon.. absolute crap 😡

Chicken has turned up pale and slimey and inedible, worried that it will make us ill. Ordered through just eat but they are ‘investigating’

Arrived home with food 5 minutes from purchase. Chicken fillets were soggy and luke warm, chips were soggy and luke warm. Very disappointing. Won't go there again.

Bite 3 or my Zinger felt so disgusting I had to spit it out. My daughters meal was ok. I went to take mine back. This first staff member was polite and took the burger to his manager. She came to the front and told me it was fine. I explained that it really wasn't. I had apparently eaten nearly half of it. 3 bites, and one was back in the box. The manager was just downright rude. No apology, she would only refund half the meal price (chips were also in the returned box) not even the price of the burger. At the same time the 'chef' came out to tell me it was fine, he checked it. He had to be directed away from me as he was behaving aggressively. Customer service and quality control is not one of their strengths. Being rude is.

Three times we have ordered from this store through and each time we have had food missing. Today took it to a new level, a whole meal including drink and sauce was missing! Receipt had the full order on, so clearly someone cant do a simple job of packing the correct food into a bag!

Sometimes a standard KFC is just what you need. On this occasion, I was thinking along these lines. I ordered myself a Zinger Tower Meal. It hit the spot, but unfortunately I found them to be frugal with the sauce. Needless to say, it was still satisfactory, therefore the 3 stars. Hugo

Currently been told to park up having listened for 10 minutes to the staff arguing about what customers should get what orders. At least that was entertaining. Now sitting in a cold car wondering if anyone will remember will still haven’t got our food!

Waited ages for the one person in front of me to give their order (which when served was wrong). Gave my order - a vegan burger and a latte. What drink would I like with that?! Vegan burger was basic. An overcooked quorn burger in a cold roll with a bit of lettuce and mayo. All staff consistently sullen and unmotivated. Not much evidence of any cleaning being done. Avoid this place at all costs.

Delivered 30 mins after allocated time. Food was so cold had to be thrown away as not edible. Bet nobody from KFC respond though!

Not usually a Kentucky customer but on a journey home and really hungry decided to go in the drive thru ..... there were about four cars in front of us we read the menu decided what to have ..as we pulled up to the “ order here “ window we sat waiting and waiting but no one took our order my husband shouted “hello anyone serving “ no response !! Someone walked past the window a couple of times .. still no response , now there are cars behind us , and cars in front of us have turned the corner and gone ! So I said maybe we have to order and pay at the collection window so we pull foreword ... boy behind window is now talking taking the next order !!!! Just stares gormlessly at us and we say you haven’t taken our order and now you’re serving the next person we have been sitting there for a good ten minutes, he rolls his eyes and says I was in the middle of something , what do you want then ?... by now we’ve forgotten what we chose on the menu !! Needless to say we just drove off after wasting twenty minutes of our lives and still hungry and vowing if this shocking service is anything to go by never stopping at a KFC again !

Went into kfc on a127 today, it was disgusting. Rubbish everywhere and served by a miserable young girl. Never seen such a mess.

Turned up to go through the drive-in, this was closed. Parked in the car park and went in for takeaway. Only one person ahead of me, waited over 20 minutes for chips & chicken. Staff were setting up for a party to arrive and were too busy talking to serve or be organised. Meanwhile the manager and supervisor were talking on a table in the corner ignoring what was happening. After I arrived ordered and left they received eight more orders, good luck with that one. Not impressed.....

I've resumed using this branch, after avoiding it for a year because standards had fallen, as it has greatly improved. Unpleasant new feature is the frequent Just Eat delivery drivers parking inconsiderately and obstructively and plonking their large bags unhygenicaly on the counter.

Came here for a quick takeaway or so i thought.Waited ages to get my food because now they are part of the just eat brigade.There must have been 5 or 6 drivers waiting for orders so that means customers who was waiting for food in the shop was having to wait as well around 25 minutes.Shocking.Also the food was average at best but kfc have changed there chips{AGAIN] for skin on fries.yuk.Shame on you,you changed your chips once around 9 years ago,which i used to love,to something that was ok,but skin on fries,really.For me i think kfc wont last another 10 years

As my mum Had not had kfc for about 10 years we thought we would treat her. What a mistake! Chips where burnt, chicken was dry. So dry that you couldn't swollow it. What a waist of 28 pounds! Left gutted and still in need of lunch! Never again!

Ordered a standard fillet meal with 2 wings and gravy. Ended up with a tower burger, lemonade, a piece of chicken so dry it must have been dug up on some archaeological trail.. and beans. I understand its hard to take an order these days but come on!

Ordered the 9 piece chicken deal and only got 8 and one the the pieces was tiny and I mean nothing at all on it! Rung to complain and the manager answered phone but no apology and said bluntly nothing to do with him ring tomorrow because he wasn’t the manager on duty at that time if I can find receipt! Surely if you are one of the managers there you should still deal with a complaint whether it was you or not! I said can I complain to head office and he bluntly said again only if you have the receipt! I said about the small price and he said they still have to give them out whatever the size! Not one apology from him! I asked him for his name and wouldn’t even give that because data protection!! Very rude male manager! No customer care at all!! Most of the reviews are are about the rude staff and this is yet another one!!!!

Went in there today again and perhaps today was the last. They are local so convenient for a quick bite but boy do they disappoint. And looking at other reviews perhaps my opinion is shared, I just think people don’t take the time to complaint but I’ve had enough. Although friendly today, other times not so much, but the chicken was terrible and I ended up throwing my burger away. An absolute waste and I have complaint before and I have never had a reply, I think they count on the locality and perhaps feels most customers will be long gone and people are still buying so no need to improve.

Visited because my nearest and despite previous experiences. In future will choose any other KFC. Food rarely good. Inconsistent. Chips usually cool, chicken dry. As if both waited too long after cooking.

Went in for a bite of lunch, the food was cold and greasy. Potatoes were all black eyed and yuk. We complained and the manager (lady) moaned at the young boy about us complaining. What a disgrace of a place. The 2nd lot of food was still luke warm and greasy obviously been sitting there for ages behind the scenes as you couldn’t see it. No one was cooking so defo wasn’t fresh. People on drive through was moaning that they only had half a cup of coffee. Disgraceful the staff need customer service training and learn how to cook decent food. Will not be going back and defo wouldn’t recommend it there

Unfriendly staff Hardly anyone in there waiting to be served and yet still managed to take 10 mins to get served. I'm not recommend!

Still haven't sorted their delivery problems, no coffee today. Staff bellow at each other in the restaurant in front of customers. Food usual, average.

I tend to be there about 7pm. Restaurant is always clean, service fast and efficient. Food fresh. No complaints, been many times.

There always seems to be a long wait for food here. After going through the drive through, we always are asked to park and have to wait for the food to come out to us. The food is good but it's not very speedy.

Popped in to get 4 pieces of chicken and 1 portion of fries because we had our Grand Daughter (5 years old) staying the night plus I like KFC as well. Really quick counter service and then got home to find cold fries and when cutting chicken off the bone for my Grand Daughter found the meat pink and red next to the bone. We had to properly cook the chicken in our oven and then cook new chips. Really angry about the whole experience and KFC is now off our menu from now on!!

Waited for long time to be served, restaurant was not busy ,one girl serving,counted 7 staff members in back doing nothing ,one was even on her mobil phone.This is not the first time I've had problems with this place,so complain via email to head office and got some lame excuse back ,so called management as poor as this restaurant.

Hardly anyone in there waiting to be served and yet still managed to take 10 mins to get served. I'm not being funny but has the concept of fast food changed and I missed it? If so I'm sorry..... I was probably in the queue when that memo came out!

I always order from here has a special treat to take out and the food has always been ok.Me and my wife always have the bouns banquet each because its a really good deal and feels us up.

Ok food as expected but the fries need looking at. But would still use this and other KFC's when the need takes.

me and a friend visited KFC for some lunch on a not so busy Tuesday afternoon, Dont bother! place was filthy, tables sticky and in a mess, food served cold, bun was soggy chips was cold, chicken was edible as long as you didnt want cold chips that felt like you was eating shoe lace's only thing that was meant to be cold that lived up to its expectation was the diet pepsi! on the whole £12 utterly wasted should of had a pork pie from the peterol station up the road instead! and i hate pork pies!

placed an order and was told there would be a 7 minute wait for chicken. after 20 minutes it was given to me and the order was totally wrong. this place was utter chaos with people becoming very upset and irate at the wait and wave of incompetence. go to another in the chain would be my advice. in the bag were no clean up wipes salt or napkins, just useless !!
