KFC in Torfaen

Got a bit worried when I saw the reviews as I'd booked the nearby hotel and generally like KFC. Found the place to be more than adequate however: friendly service, standard KFC food and left very happy. A few rowdy people from time to time but actually I quite like the atmosphere and overall I like this KFC so will return if I stay at the hotel again.

First of all, my order was 14 pieces, it’s was very bad, and the staff very bad.

Got orders mixed up despite being told by manager three times to sort themselves out and get it right. Wouldn't accept Blue Light Card barcode from app. Contacted customer services via KFC Care Squad who were absolutely useless. Will never visit here again.

Picked up three meals . As always food good . Service very slow staff were friendly.

Ordered food got to table to be told no beans offered other stuff instead staff looks like they can't be bothered wouldn't eat here again

Says on web page closes at 11.00pm..walked over from hotel was at doors at 10.20pm ...closed... Very disappointed...web page states clearly 11.00 pm closing....

The food was very dry,but ok...however the service was appalling. The 2 ladies serving especially the one who I presume was the manager couldn't of cared less about customers....I had my bag of food literally thrown at me with no smile or no thanku!!!!! The one lady serving was more interested in having a very loud conversation with a customer.....

Always bad service and the employees are very sullen. It's like they work here without getting paid. In my opinion, it is the worst branch of KFC. I waited 20 minutes to place a spare order and asked if the system was like this. 👎👎👎👎

Dry/ overcooked food maybe had been sat around for a long time

I had to ask for a refund after waiting 35 minutes for a bucket for one - the place wasn't even busy. I feel sorry for the young manageress if this is the usual standard. Utterly appalling.

Avoid coming here if you want your food quickly or your order correct. 9/10 there is something missing and the service is unbelievably slow. Expect waits of up to an hour on a weekend evening as all the delivery orders are prioritised.

My food was really lovely, the staff were prompt and friendly, however, this was my son's food which cost me £4.99. I'm sure there was meant to be more but as I used the drive-thru, I didn't realise until I unpacked. Really disappointed that this cost so much and this was all he had.

Love the food but always dread going there because of the service. Very rarely get what I ordered and they only tell you they haven't got something after they've given you your food instead of updating the self service screens. Tonight was the rare exception but perversely there was no classic chicken on the screen despite it being in stock so had to discuss the options at the till after spending 10 minutes being ignored by every member of staff who walked past it. Never seems to be enough staff on, don't think I've ever seen anyone over 19 there and they just don't seem to give a damn. Never any serviettes either.

Waited 10 mins to be served and then another 25 mins for our food (with only a couple of customers in the restaurant, it wasn't like they were dealing with peak demand), and when it arrived it wasn't very fresh. The drive thru orders seemed to take priority and were getting served much faster, would recommend this instead of ordering at the counter.

Usually one of the better fast food places in the area, but the down side of being on an A road is that going back isn't really practical when the food isn't right. Tonight I had a box mesh that was really hot and tasty - would have been even tastier if they'd towered the burger like I'd paid for and remembered to put the side order in the box. Google has asked me for an update. Today's order needed to be microwaved after the 8 minute drive home. Chicken bites that tasted like they'd not seen heat in an hour and chicken so stale that the coating had come off the skin in one piece!

Just visited this branch & absolutely shocked at the service & the food!!! How KFC have not closed this branch down is beyond me. What a disgrace to KFC!!! We have been to many KFC’s & this is by far the worst!!!! Staff have attitude & are not friendly in the slightest. Greeted with a horrible smell on entering the restaurant. Didn’t feel or look very clean in there either. The chicken bites were rock hard & so dry & not like we’ve had from other branches. These were awful! The mega box was a tiny portion & hardly any chips. The chicken piece was so tiny. The hot wing wasn’t cooked enough so inedible. Avoid this branch at ALL costs!!!!!

Fast food was not fast and the chicken was that dry you could not chew it. Was really looking forward to it because I had not had kfc for a while but have to say will not be attending pontypool kfc again. I now know why it was empty. AVOID!!

Just about managed to provide chicken, skimpy amount of chips, no corn or gravy available and all this served by a girl who needs a good lesson in manners and customer service

The drive through was a little difficult to navigate and some of these stones are loose so sounds awful driving over them, the order system isnt working so placed order at the window. Food was lovely but the amount of chips we received was very small! Should have asked for an extra portion! But overall, not bad!

Just had a fabulous meal from here ..I was served by Jamie and Leuan... Excellent customer service and Jamie was very patient as I had to give him my order over the counter, he was very polite even though he was rushed off his feet .. The meal was nice. The chicken was cooked fresh and tasted lovely. We didn't get the coleslaw but I made my own 😆 Compared to the kfc we had last week from Cwmbran I can honestly say Pontypool kfc are the best 👌

Food was good, but the kitchen area we could see while waiting for our food looked dirty, with lots of dropped food all over the floor and quite a bit rubbish lying around the kitchen floor

Filthy. All but one of the tables was covered in food particles and grease. The staff’s uniforms looked as if they had been wearing them all week. The chicken was lukewarm and we left most of it to be on the safe side. Used to be OK here, but really gone downhill. Only one other customer at a peak time which speaks volumes.

Pontypool KFC-we went through the drivethrough and waited by the ordering hatch for nearly 2 minutes before being served. The person serving was still chatting to another colleague behind her and we asked for a 8 piece bucket and then charged with a 12 piece bucket. She wasn't paying full attention and to top it off forgot our side orders and gave us the wrong change. DISAPPOINTED in service but food was lovely and hot.

We just had a really nice meal from here tonight. The place was Immaculately clean. The staff that served me were Tommy, Seren, and Ethen... all 3 gave 💯 % customer service I came here 3 months ago and the sevice was extremely excellent then...as it was again tonight.. The staff are always polite and friendly and are always helpful...(as im useless at ordering,) so thank you for your patience, Tommy. ..also, for the hot sauce, that was very thoughtful of you, Tommy. My hubby was very happy 😊 for a change. Ha ha ! We will definitely be back in a few months. You are all a credit to KFC 👍

Having queuing up for 10 minutes to find out that it was cash only so had to stay in the drive thru to wait for everyone infront to be served just to not get food and had to go somewhere else to eat.

If you going to force self order then at least make sure there are plenty of units to order from.

I had not used KFC for many years. Afemale member of staff was amazing helping with options. She had her hair up in the hat it looked curly/wavy ish. She wore round glasses. It was Saturday 8th April 2023 between 3 and 5. A credit to the company

Tired establishment. Rubbish bins litter the car park. Car park falling apart and a danger to users. Rats 🐀 seen running. Krushem machine not working. Speaker system at drive thru broken. Didn't spend a penny and drove right through

It's just like no one cares Food is just sloppy and thrown together....there is ALWAYS something missing when we order.....its just blah. Everyone we've gone (3 times maybe in 2 years) we say why do we go back!

We bought a 6 piece family feast, we were served 4 of the smallest pieces of chicken that hardly was worth the trouble and the other two pieces had more bones than a skeleton barely anything to eat off of them, it was also overcooked and dry and my gravy was so thick it would of given Vicki pollard a run for her money. Otherwise reasonable fries. Anyway there's always another KFC.

Visited several times over the past few months, the food is as you would expect from any KFC but you won’t be able to get a hot drink. The staff either tell you the machines broke or they tell porkys to you and wait for you to go to the collection window and then they tell you the machines not working. Krushem machine also not working today as well as the card machine so cash only. The owners should hold their heads in shame.

I can only assume those giving positive reviews are staff. Very small portions, greasy and luke warm, seemed stale and dried out. Whole place looks like it needs a good disinfecting inside and out. Mcdonalds next time

Staff great and food always great, just a little slow.

Went here yesterday for a quick bite. Went through the drive thru, however the speaker wasn't working and we were directed to the window. First window had no one in, so after 10 min, I went onto the second window. The young girl stated she was understaffed and unable to take an order at the second window? She then stated that I'd have to go around the drive thru again. Erm... no. Rather than create a scene, I decided to park up and go in. Eventually I got my food. The massive downside to this was they forgot my chicken in the trilogy meal. Unfortunately I didn't see this until I got home. The morale of my visit, is get more staff, or just close the store and run an efficient drive thru. Also simple orders are just that... simple and shouldn't be missing anything. Probably won't go to this one again.

Hit and miss. Will they have chicken today? Will they get my order right today? If you eat here you run the risk of either a perfect meal or abject misery.

I went here with my daughter and what a shambles, rubbish and mess everywhere outside, speaker not working and asking you to beep (this is to wake up the staff) 20 min waiting, staff dont know what they doing, missing food and the food we had was cold waste time complaining as they wont reply to you but they will reply if you have something good to say just go to mcdonalds next door

Been to about 4 KFC's in by 23 years of living and non come close to Pontypool!! Staff were very friendly and served me fast, although the colonels chicken meal was a little bland I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of my food. Staff seem to be trying their hardest and don't need ungrateful people leaving terrible reviews ya nittys. Amazing customer service and great food.

How mean can a company be. 3 pieces of chicken and a tiny portion of warmed up, old fries. Not even enough to eat one fry with each bite of the chicken. Chicken not bad but not fresh. Fries look and taste like they are half a day old. Look at the colour of them. Even the bag that they came in was half empty. Only once i had driven several miles away that I find this. Look at the size of the box. I know it's not that biggest meal in the world but the box looks empty. Mark up on this food must be in the thousands of percent yet they give old discoloured tiny portion of fries. I won't be back at KFC pontypool again.

Called there this evening to get a take out , pulled into the disabled bay as I cant walk well. Was met with an overpowering stench of Sewage when I got out of my car I was standing in a huge puddle of sewage. Think what you will.

Closet KFC to me so have been quite a bit. Food is nice but my god are they slow. Quickest option if quiet is to go through the drive through but if that's busy, you could well die of old age. Last trip was ridiculous however. Waited half hour inside without even getting served. When questioned was told didn't have enough staff. No apology or to even attempt to serve the long line of waiting customers, the 2 people out front were too busy putting together 6 or 7 delivery drivers orders. Plenty of staff hanging around doing nothing however. Gave up in end, probably won't return.

Unlike McDonald's they have never got our order wrong but because of the lack of staff it can be that you have to wait a while until you get what you ordered.

The slowest service you will ever receive - I literally waited close to 20 minutes last week in the drive-through (isn't that supposed to be faster?). Staff are hit and miss - one or two are very friendly and helpful, most others are surly and unapologetic. In addition to that, they seem to have intentionally opted out of the Colonel's Club rewards scheme - I have accumulated rewards that I now cannot use as they always shiftily claim that 'the system is down' and they therefore can't fulfil these.

Came here on a Monday evening. 25 mins waiting in drive thru....there were only 3 cars in front of me! The staff were unmotivated bordering on lazy. Llamé para quejarme y me dijeron que por un niño extremadamente inútil (que aparentemente era el director pero era probablemente sólo 12) que yo había pedido el pequeño y pagamos la pequeña y podría producir mi recibo. Desde cuando tiene 12 piezas de pollo sonaba como 8. Sé de lo que pedimos como mis hijos en el coche conmigo cuando lo pedí. Me pidieron que traiga la comida al restaurante. Me explicó que había estado fuera todo el día y no iba a venir todo el camino de regreso y que toda la comida se binned porque era incomible, pero ella no estaba interesada. Nunca he tenido tan mal servicio al cliente, fue horrible. Nunca volveremos a poner un pie en este restaurante de nuevo.

This KFC branch has only recently reopened after being closed down by health officials for a total disregard of hygiene regulations, hopefully thing have now improved. The service, particularly at the drive through, can be very "hit and miss", sometimes great, sometimes very, very poor....
